[ROMs] NAZ PFY rEVOlution 1r10 AOSP 1r6 (Fast Froyo ROMs) [10-08-10] - Nexus One Android Development

The whole purpose of this ROM is to have a Plain rooted ROM without all the extra junk.
So, if you like it fast and low fat, this rom is for you!
Difference between PFY and AOSP: AOSP does not have original A2SD (EXT), WyContacts, Phone Mod,
and MMS enhancement. Both ROMs are built from AOSP by me.

PFY Troubleshooting and Solutions
PFY has little to no problem connected directly to the ROM itself but,when you do encounter a problem,
please provide a logcat. It's very hard to troubleshoot a problem without it.
Problem installing Google Street View from market? Try this fix.
No boot animation on SLCD screen. Look here
Voice Search f/c. Not sure if the problem is the ROM or Voice Search. All indication are it's a Voice Search issue. Look here.

Yes Google apps included.

man i would use this if it had trackball wake.

Thanks for this rom, i will test it later.
Is FM Radio enabled by default?
What about these features:
- ChainsDD's Superuser app + Insecure Boot for full access by ADB
- Zipaligned

Now we need you to make a plain fast desire Rom like you did before.

The kernel does support FM radio but until someone figures out how to get the HTC FM radio apk to work it will be of no use.
Yes it has superuser, insecure boot and full adb Support.

Gah some of the replies to this thread are making my head spin. They're asking questions that you answered in the first post, and asking questions that are rhetorical!
Anyway, been looking for a solid ROM that is basic. I appreciate your hard work.

Any screen shots? I like simplicity, but also like spare parts or Leo parts found in other roms....

FAQ
After I flashed this ROM my phone does not boot, why?
Take out the battery and boot to CWM-Recovery and do a full wipe, if you cant boot to CWM-Recovery try the next step.
I bricked my phone, help me!
Remove your battery and put it back and use Flashtool to flash this (2.1.1.A.0.6 Nordic firmware with latest SE kernel and baseband).
I don't like the miniCM theme, how can I change it?
You can change theme with the app theme chooser.
Does it include real dual touch?
No it is not real dual touch but it works fine for pinch-zooming.
Why doesn't WiFi work for me?
Try to delete all remembered networks or delete /data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf, if that does not work try a full wipe.
How can I change the keyboard?
Open the SMS-app and hold the "Type to compose" and select input method and select another keyboard.
Dual touch does not work.
Download the dualtouch module from here and extract it and overwite the x8gesture with the .ko file.

No Xrecovery can't do backups for me I get MD5 mismatch error and missing files in the backup folder.
Maybe this error is caused by the fact i hadn't installed the newest firmware from SE and in the original post it's said that there are kernel dependencies that need that firmware. I'll try to install the newest firmware from SE and then apply update.zip.

Unlocked bootloader
Latest version of the nAa .29 kernel or nAa .32 kernel
Instructions:
Download the MiniCM7-xxx.zip from the release link that follows
Backup your /data contents: contacts, apps, sms, etc. or backup via recovery
Move the MiniCM7-xxx.zip to the root folder of your sdcard. Download the suggested Google Apps for CM7 from here (check http://goo-inside.me/gapps/ if you want to experiment with other gapps versions)
Unlock your bootloader, if you haven't already. Check http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1254225 for a nice tutorial
Flash the nAa kernel using Flashtool. To to this:
- Turn off your phone
- Start the Flashtool\X10FlashTool.exe and select Flash. Then select the E10_nAaxxx kernel firmware (this flashes both the kernel.sin and the loader.sin)
- Keep the back button pressed while connecting the usb cable. Flashtool should detect your phone and flash the kernel.
- Once done, disconnect the usb cable and power on the phone.
Once the logo appears, press the back button repeatedly to enter CWM.
- Select 'backup and restore -> Backup'
- Select 'wipe data/factory reset' (RECOMMENDED)
- Flash the MiniCM7-xxx.zip. To do this, Select 'install zip from sdcard -> choose zip from sdcard' and select the MiniCM7-xxx.zip
- Flash gapps
Reboot (first boot will take ~2 mins)
Once your device has booted, you can navigate to CM Settings -> System -> Update notifications and select 'Register'. This way you can get update notifications on new versions of MiniCM7!

Additional comments:
(NOTE: With the nAa kernel/CWM, multiboot/encryption is NOT yet supported)
If you would like to multiboot this ROM from the SD card, use the attached MiniCM7-multiboot.zip. Don't flash this normally!!! Instead use the multiboot menu of the CWM recovery to flash it.
Do NOT report any issues regarding multiboot or encryption on this thread or on the issue tracker. Instead, use the multiboot or the encryption thread.

Donations are voluntary but allow me to spend more time on this project.
As a token of my appreciation towards people that have donated for MiniCM, and due to the continuous testing needs of this ROM which is difficult for me to cover daily, I decided to give them a chance to pick up and test new development versions of MiniCM7 starting from 2.0.7. This should allow catching up bugs sooner and hopefully before the actual release which is used by a wide community already.
Obviously, when the build is stable, it will be released on the MiniCM google project page and at xda for everyone to use freely as usual. Not all bugs will be fixed by this process, but it should help making each release build more stable.

There's a v7 test release of Phiremod available that's more current, but honestly, after switching from Phiremod 6.3 to CM7.1 RC1 I'm not really seeing much of a difference in look and feel. I for one will stick with plain ol CM7 from now on. Installation is simple enough.
For Phiremod to make a build, a stable version of the nightly is needed. After monitoring the thread with some of these nightly (builds) you know SOD and Deep Sleep seem to be recurring issues.
Phiremod must work around these and so has to be slower on the release. Each one is great and cool.
I've just seen in https://sites.google.com/site/phiremod/nook-color-roms that there is a new phiremod test version, v7 Test 2, which was released yesterday, 07/20/2011. It's based off of the latest nightly, which is nightly 136, and includes the following:
### V7 - Test 2
Built from Nightly 136
Removed:
--------
* Androidian.apk
* CMStats.apk
* CMUpdateNotify.apk
* CMWallpapers.apk
* Cyanbread.apk
* Music.apk
Built from source:
------------------------
* phiremod-walls.apk
* Settings.apk
* CMParts.apk
Applications Added:
----------------------------
* Nook Color Tweaks
* gTab-Clock
* Google Docs
* Battery Calibration
* LauncherPro.apk
* SGSII Live Wallpapers
* Google MusicSystem
* Netflix Fixer
* Netflix
* Canvas
* Titanium Backup
Other Changes:
---------------------
* Hosts profile to stop most web adds
* Lots of framework modifications
* Modified system fonts
* Modified system changelog to match phiremod releases
* Google Gears Boot Animation
* More system sounds
* Custom Default Wallpaper
Google Apps:
-------------------
* NOT included (in separate zip)
* Removed Car Home
* Removed Setup Wizard
* Custom Market Icon
I hope someone can come up with dual-booting this baby with the latest honeycomb build as well! So excited to try it out!
For some reason the Test 7.2 build can't be downloaded. Its missing on Megadownload.
Phiremod, can you repost? Thanks!
I'd stick to the CM nightlies if i were you, at present they are lightyears ahead of phiremod.

Attention
If your phone boots fine the first time after flashing the ROM, but get stuck on boot after the first reboot. Remove battery or press "Vol-down+trackpad+power" and hard-reboot the phone. After this it should work just fine.
Missing Features
Stable Video Recorder (The correct hack works, but needs a bit of work)
-------------------------------------------------
The CM9 source is still under development. Some things will be missing, and others might at times be unstable. Do not post questions about missing CM stuff or empty settings placeholders. And remember that this ROM, like the source it's based on, is not a final release.
Bug Reporting
This is how you do a proper report on a problem. Do not go to the thread and write "My phone does not work". It is useless information that can be used for absolutely nothing other than for us to respond "To bad".
Instead you should provide proper information about what your issue is about, how/when it happened and possibly provide a logcat and/or partition/mount information when this seams needed.
We do not have access to your device, we cannot see what you see, so without proper information we have no way of knowing or finding out what caused your problem. Only you have the possibility of accessing the necessary information.
Known issues
Device seams ded. It does not wake when pressing the buttons?
Go to Settings->Performance->Processor and change Governor to SmartassV2
-------------------------------------------------
Certain apps does not show in app drawer?
Go to app settings, locate your missing app, force close, delete data/cache and reboot.
Type "fix_permissions" and reboot.
-------------------------------------------------
Some google apps gives permission problems?
Look for a notification about granting permission, grant this and restart the app. Some times 2 or 3 restarts are needed.
-------------------------------------------------
Market download problems?
Open app settings. Go to Market, force close, clear data/cache, reboot to recovery, clear dalvik-cache.
-------------------------------------------------
Market payment problems?
Delete your credit card information for your google account and re-add them.
HBoot
This ROM needs at least 180mb on the /system partition. You can use BlackRose to re-partition your internal nand
Warnings!!!
Do not restore app data from old Gingerbread backups (APK's are OK but not the app related data)
Titanium backup can produce problems when used to restore apps. Make sure that this is not the case before writing bug reports
Do NOT setup your sdcard (Fat32) partition using CWM Recovery. This will produce a lot of different problems along the way do to a bug in the recovery. Use 4EXT Recovery instead
The sd-ext partition should be no more than max 1.5GB in size. More than this can produce issues
A2SD Scripts
Mounts2SD
This is a highly costimizeable script that is made to work with any type of device with any type of ROM. It comes with both shell controlls and a GUI Settings menu with the native settings of this ROM
You can use the commad "m2sd <command> <value>" to alter configurations from the shell. Use "m2sd help" to get all available options.
The GUI Settings menu can be located at Settings->Performance->Mounts2SD
Mounts2SD Home
Init.d
This ROM comes with Enhanced Init.d
Kernel & Ramdisk
If you flash another kernel, do not flash an entire boot.img but only zImage. Otherwise you will break Wifi among other things as this ROM is build with custom modifications to the dhcpcd control which is build-in to the ramdisk.
KSM Memory Management
Do to heavy memory load with OpenGL support, it is recommended to activate KSM to reduce the memory usage and avoid problems like random reboots.
This is done by going to "Settings"->"Performance"->"Memory Management" and check "Kernel samepage merging"
You can also activate zRam if you still encounter low RAM issues

Credits
Over the last couple of days I have received a lot of credits for this ROM, which is great and makes the time and effort worth it. However it would be very wrong to except these alone as I am not doing this all by my self. Credits should also go to every developer modding and fixing stock source. The CM team for their great work in making the Android Framework what Google should have done a long time ago. Kernel developers trying to back-port drivers that vendors refuse to deliver. Devs porting hacks for camera, UMS and more. But also people contributing in any other way that they can, like providing mirrors for the ROM's, spending time flashing unstable products to provide helpful bug reporting and a lot more. To put it simple, any type of contribution. Without this type of community, custom ROM's would not be worth the time it takes to download. No single person can do all of this by them self.

Since there has been no changes on status of an up-to-date CM9 ROM for Nexus One for quite some time, I thought I would bring BCM over here. I think that's the leas the Bravo community can do for the N1 community since most of the Bravo driver/kernel work is done by the good dev's here
I don't have an N1 my self, so I can't test it. But the ROM works great on bravo, and the N1 parts if taken from the Evervolv repo, so I see no reason why it whould not work here to.
Cheers m8! another one is keeping our devices alive.. long live N1!
So cool.
Must try.

1.Whether this ROM requires extended partition via Blackrose or not ?
2.What works & what doesn't ?
Thats pretty much it & a huge thanks for bringing this ROM for our nexus one .
Installs fine! Great installer btw, i'd never seen this one before!

Have you tested it?
I build both, did md5sum checks and diff checks on every file. Then I added the files that differs in separate folders which is included depended on the device it's being installed from. So no, there is a difference in some of the libs, modules, idc, keylayouts, /etc files, kernel, ramdisk etc.
It is a 3-in-one installer. Bravo GSM, Bravo CDMA and Nexus One in one zip.

Have no idea about hboot's for N1. You need at least 180mb on your /system partition as mentioned in the main thread.

Yes, I see no reason copying/updating everything two times when it is the same. I will of cause add N1 specifics here if/when there is some.

thanks for the heads up bro, good info, 3-in-1 installer...only works only with 4ext recovery i assume?? u should include these info in -OP- niiiceee
No, the installer basically works with every recovery, you don't need 4ext touch.
Yes the installer works in all recoveries packing the touch driver which most do, touch recovery or not.

At last, a Nexy ICS ROM that has custom light sensor levels for Auto Brightness. I have my old CM7 settings stored in Ever note ;-)
Will try ROM later when I'm back on wifi. Can't wait

is HWA the same as in texasice (evervolv) and samuaz (medroid) builds?
I've the mic not working issue selecting the default install in aroma installation customizer.
I think tho is related, as usual, to the included a2sd script.
So i'll try different setting in moving dalvik or data to sd and post my finds.
But overall I've to say this rom is the fastest and smoothest ics tried yet on nexus one, the issues are just the well known (obviously camera preview, slow browser rendering but I'll try chrome, bookmarks not syncing)
And the best (IMHO) is that seems more based and compatibile to the real cm9.
Many thanks to all of you as well for the other ics developer/cook/fixer.
Great ROM very fast indeed and a lot of customized options.
But I had a huge battery drain lost over 30% in 1 hour... Proces media?
So back to CM7.2 for now..
