Apps Backup - Streak 5 Themes and Apps

Hi Team
Now I've bought and downloaded some apps. How do I back them up so when I flash a new ROM I can reinstall them? Thanks!

brought apps will be remember when your login to the Market via your google account
Also, sync your apps with AppBrain and that should remember free apps

I use Astro File Manager (free in the Market)... under settings>tools there's an app backup. Just back them all up, then when you get the new ROM, download Astro again and do a restore.

AppBrain is great too. Plus you can find new apps from your pc

Apps backup
Thanks everyone!

I use Titanium Backup, great to do that job, and also backup your settings. The time you spend is not on re-installing your apps, but in the configuration...

I use myBackup Pro
Its a paid app, there is a lite version but you can not schedule when you want to backup
Its great because it restores all your app data as well, so you dont have to go into each app and 'log in' again and you wont lose your save games either

+1 for Titanium Backup! Essential app.

I used Titanium when I flashed from 2.1 to 2.2, and even though it remembered all my apps, everytime I opened one, it would force close, so I ended up re-installing them all.
Any ideas why it didn't work?

Always changing ROMs

Is there any possibility, automatic app, that can save app info, for later use, so when flashing new ROM's it can erstore the apps from Market? I doon't need a backup option like Titanium, just something that can redownload my apps after new flash. Just like saving all the info in a file then "apt-get install" it...
Titanium Backup.. free from market..
Fantastic app although the best and only functions most people will use are cleverly only in the paid for version
you could also use appbrain
http://www.appbrain.com/
Thread moved to Q&A.
Doesn't Market itself save all the info in Downloads section? I've changed 5-6 ROMS in last 2 months and Market was always showing all apps I had installed before I would restore them through Titanium.
thats because u sign in with ur gogglemail/gmail account which saves your history
Just use aps to sd and you wont have to install them again between roms, then use titanium backup to restore the settings. Voi-la!

How can I save app data through updating ROMs?

I want to have all my apps data ( like game saves, login info etc) saved when I flash a ROM update. It's a huge pain to manually re-setup EVERYTHING. Apps and contacts come back which is awesome but all the apps and settings are all back to square one..

I'm sure you could use root explorer to save the configuration files for these apps and reload them later with root explorer as well... but... you might create glitches or issues with the new rom... (aka it will end up being slow or have FC s)

Titanium Backup will save all of your app data and settings...once your apps are backed up, flash a new rom, download titanium from the market and use it to restore all of your apps with their data

Just so u know there is a FREE version of titanium backup on the Android market...

You don't have to pay for titanium backup (though in my opinion you should support Android developers). The free version does it too (unless something has changed since I last used the free version). You just can't do it in a batch which is much easier.

Saw this thread and downloaded the free version of titanium backup to try it out before buying the pro version. but when i try to backup my apps and user data with a scheduled backup, it fc's before finishing the backup. Will this happen with the pro version as well? or is there any way to fix it?

I've never had issues backing up or restoring apps with Titanium free or paid version. Are you using other apps while it's creating the backup? Personally, I don't do scheduled backups. I only backup just before flashing a new rom so that I know everything is current.

well with the free version you cant do a batch backup, so i ran a scheduled backup from the schedule screen. i reinstalled the app, and it seemed to run fine. thanks for the response though, much appreciated.

Yes you can. You can do batch back ups and batch restores. The only differences I've noticed between the free and paid versions are:
Free - Only schedule one back up at a time. When running a batch restore, it stops on every app and you must approve to restore them. Special services disabled
Paid - Schedule unlimited backups. Restoring a batch does not require approving each app. Special features, such as Market Doctor, are enabled.

^ Bro - If you have to click on every app to restore, one by one... that isn't really "batch" mode, by definition
Get the paid version, well worth it, and nice to support the dev of such a well made and valuable app.
I wouldnt be caught flashing/changing roms without it !
For ppl that have trouble with Titanium Backup, try My Backup Pro. It sometimes works when TTB will not.
It's still a batch restore selection. And it restores app data as well. Only it prompts you on every app and asks if you'd like to install it.But yes, I agree, the paid version is a must.

on the pro version there is a new feature to backup apps to a flashable zip file, which should make the whole restore process super fast. You can just flash a new rom then flash your apps with data back and not have to do manual restoring.
I haven't tried it yet though.

Wiped before flashing new rom, apps wont come back

So typically my apps will automatically come back but this time they didnt.
I wiped before I installed MIUI, and under "My apps" it only shows the apps I paid for, not the free ones. So I lost a ton of apps and I cant remember them all.
Any ideas here?

Titanium backup would have made it easy for you. It doesn't rely on backing up with Google. Do you have sync active? If you backed them up with Google you should be able to get them back. I'm not too sure because I use tibu

I rarely see my free apps in "My Account" on the app, but if you go to website you might see them.

Ok, thanks. I got them back from TB. I had no idea TB would install the app for you, I always thought you installed the app from the market and then restore your data in TB

Good way to back up apps and data when flashing new ROMs?

Hey guys, I am using this awesome AOKP ROM that lately has had a lot of nightlies. I have found that going back into the play store and redownloading every app I wanted is kind of a chore and I figure there has to be a good way to back up my apps. Does anyone know one?
Also when I do reinstall my apps, all the app data (game progress user logins etc) are gone. How can I back that up?
And finally if I do back up the data from the apps, will that mess with my ROM at all?
I'm sure this is all pretty beginner stuff, but I suppose Im a beginner at android
Thanks in advanced!

As priyesh103 said, you can use Titanium Backup.
Backing up and restoring app data should be safe in almost all cases but if you restore certain system settings you can mess things up if you change to another ROM or in some cases to another version of the same ROM. If you made a complete backup you can just try it. In the worst case you'd have to wipe or reflash, but since you have a backup that shouldn't be a big problem.
Titanium backup all the way! Buy pro if you have lots of apps. It also let's you backup and restore apps on any new phones you get, as long as its rooted.
Must have root app

[Q] Rooted device, still can't delete AT&T apps.

I rooted my device using the framaroot method, and I still can't delete the at&t apps that came preinstalled. Not sure what to do next. Any advice?
Yes.
Install Titanium Backup. There is a free version. Then find the apps you want to remove, and use the Freeze feature in TiBu first for a while to make sure that there are no dependencies. It functions just like deleting the app, but you can unfreeze it if there are problems. You can also delete apps with TiBu.
Also use this to back up your applications. To make it easier, buy the full version from the developer, which has batch back up and other features. It's a pain to try to back up apps one at a time.
Of course Yes. Titanium is the best app for backup, restore, delete app
