[Q] Help with copying Rom off od stock US Dell Streak - Streak 5 Android Development

I have a dell streak that was sent to me as a replacement because I thought that my first streak was damaged, so here is my question... How can I copy the system folder or copy the entire device without rooting it? I dont want to use superuser because it's a pain in the SSS to get off and something seems a bit strange about that. Any help ?

Why do you want to do it?

I thought this would be a great fall back to the US version of Dell streak incase something goes wrong. I'm VERY unhappy with AT&T so I like the idea of opening up this device and using it anyway that I see fit but if the streak is going to be crippled like this then I would like to copy the stock ROM from this one and place it back on mine on anyone else that needs to...
BTW I have been sent a replacement device by Dell that's why I'm contemplating this

You can install Clockwork Recovery and do Nandroid backup, then restore it on the other device.

i am getting a replacement also. why not just send the modded one in as is?

[Q] Need to Wipe and get back to STOCK

I have enjoyed the G-Tab but the boss got me a Xoom 3g and the G-Tab has been sitting unused so I decided to get rid of it.
I had CYANOGEN on it and worked great.
I have search the threads for a good link to the STOCK G-TAB but all I come up with are the modification..which are great but of no use if I want to resell the tablet.
Does anyone have a good link to the STOCK for this so I can try and get this thing into a resellable condition?
Thanks,
flash the current stock update
Did you have a look at the wiki

Thanks, downloading and will try tonight.
I actually have the same question. Can this be done using ROM manager/Clockwork? Did'nt they make some changes to the boot code recently?

I just did it last night and it brought my gtab back to the original state. It even removed CWM. It leave your internal SD card untouched.

[Q] help please need to unbrick before returning from deployment

OK to get started a little background, I was very deep into rooting and roms on my original droid, so I do know a lot of the basics. I got the fascinate in last october, dropped it and cracked the screen in december at that point I decided what could I really do to the phone hacking thats worse than physical damage, so I started using Odin and flashing the risky froyo files that were out then. I dont remember which one, did one and the phone started saying -e:cant mount /dev/blockst111. Ive tried the i500 vzw stock recovery.tar and the modem and something else of those files through odin to no avail. Im trying to do all of this recovery stuff from afghanistan also. When I try to use those files through odin it always says invalid hash value. file download is almost impossible here but I was able to get the 2.2 atlas .pit and CI500_VZW_ED05_FROYO_REL.tar (1).md5 from another marine. please help oh and I dont have the stock cable out here either. Thanks for any help guys.
I got it ! sorry for the cry for help but all I had to do was mod the file name and voila there it was.
Glad you got it fixed. Watch yours and each others backs over there and come home safely.
Brwnsuperman has all files to stock and gingerbread upgrade if you ever need fix again.

[Q] Shattered Screen and Best Buy Mobile Warranty

Ok so I shattered my Streak's screen last night.
It tasted the pavement like I always feared it inevitably would.
The question I have for you all is,if I use the QDL Tool to set my phone back to Android 2.2 will my Warranty still be in effect?
I know I can't take it back with StreakDroid running since my warranty was voided after I installed it.
If someone could answer this and help me out a bit it'd be much appreciated.
QDL Tool or flash Stock Android for Streak?
Just flash the stock ROM, no reason to use QDLTool.
why take it back? warranties don't cover you for damage!!
Broken screen is not going to be a warranty item. You must be thinking about insurance.
You will likely need to read through this:

Good luck!
Yes I have insurance,I'm going to call in a bit to get this squared away.
Now my second problem is,how do I downgrade from DJ Steve's Streakdroid 1.9.9(2.2.2) back to stock?
I haven't played around with my phone for awhile and I've never downgraded so I'd like a little assistance if you don't mind helping me?
Flash matching stock recovery (353) using fastboot. This removes StreakMod/ClockworkMod. Then flash pkg file from Dell recovery. Files are listed on Streak wiki maintained by themanii.
Many thanks Nick.

[Q] Faulty Internal SD. RMA to Dell or DIY?

Hi guys,
So my friend recently tried to update his Streak. It appears he has one of the units with the faulty internal SD.
Before I found out about how common the problem was, I flashed several ROMS and recovery images with Fastboot. Even tried Gingerstreak 2.4.4 w/ new baseband files. Everything resulted in the Dell Streak logo hanging and flashing lights.
So now I am contemplating whether I should RMA it back to Dell (Still under 1 year warranty) or change the internal SD card myself. For those that have RMA'ed for this problem,
1. Do they replace it out with another unit or do they actually fix phone and send it back?
Also, how would I get it back to stock? I just gone done flashing it with the latest 360 (factory unlocked Streak) recovery image and update.pkg with Fastboot. Although, I did try install GingerStreak 2.4.4 earlier and that made me flash a new baseband. This was before I just flashed the 360 recovery image and pkg.
2. Will that be good enough to send back to Dell for an RMA or will I need to change the baseband files (amss.mbn and dsp1.mbn) as well?
Any help or input will gladly be appreciated. Thanks guys!
If you still have warranty coverage, I would send it back

Change it by yourself, isn't so hard
Send to service center, it is more safe than changing it yourself.
If it's got warranty, send it in. If not, it isn't hard to do yourself, and you can replace the internal card with a better one. I just had this problem the other week.

Looking for Rogers Razr ROM

Looking for Rogers Razr ROM, will greatly appreciate if someone can upload the file. Thanks!
Also looking for this, If you find it please let me know..
I gotta return mine and they won't take too kindly to not having the rogers rom on it.
Would be helpful in case I ever need to return this Rogers razr for warranty service!
Over in developement sectiom, gsm/cdma eternity fastboot files, no rogers rom but the Brazilian one works. There are two, i think both work, but try the one that is NOT marked vivo.br. other Roger wireless customers, including myself have flashed this ROM and it works fine.

Hey there, umm... well I managed to only pull my System files out of my phone because I had rooted the device. The problem is I was trying to do a Clockwork Recovery but I didn't have a microSD card to install the backup. Also not sure what the backup of the system folder would do. The only way I was able to get the phone back to stock was to Root the device with DoomLords rooting method. Then I had pulled the system folder out to back it up in case I mess up the Apps after doing a Titanium backup removing all Rogers Apps. To get to stock the only way I was able to put back the files I removed without flashing was to push the apks back into the system folders. If I had an SDcard before I had sent the Razr for repairs I would of had a full clockwork backup. Soon as I get it back I'll try to do a Clockwork as that is the only way we'll get a rogers stock as of right now I believe.
This Razr had caused me tons of headaches two of them having the random shutdowns and 1 just died completely. So maybe it can all be related to software too, hopefully that is the case as I don't mind having a second phone.
