Hi al i have an UK o2 unlocked streak rooted but with "normal-stock" recovery.
I would like to restore 1.6 cause i felt better then now with 2.1
I read many post but i only have confusion now.
Is there anyone that could help a noob ?

Pls can you help me(or at least point in right direction) updating my Unlocked Dell streak(bought from Phone Shop in France) Build 6267 to Android 2.1
roamed the forums and still not sure i will be able to roll back in case i wont like the update ?

The official 2.1 is already out and is a serious disappointment. You're better off either updating to the last 2.1 Beta or waiting until 2.2 is released.
Please be aware that it is also next to impossible to Brick your streak. You can ignore all the "help, i've bricked my streak threads" as 99% of them are not bricked.
Worse case scenario for any streak, fastboot flash the stock recovery image, then flash a stock .pkg ROM. Fixed.
I beleive there is no official update for 00-eu version yet....in case wrong -pls lemme know.

Dell said on the IFA2010 that 2.1 will come in october and 2.2 in november .. lets see if its OK, i have seen internal roadmaps where Streak release was planned fpr April .. i would link the offical article but i still cant post links .. what a **** ...

I am a complete newbie with Android and the Dell streak, I have had a play with some Win Mob ROMs on phones
I have just bought a second hand Dell Streak locked on o2 in the UK, It is running 1.6 software.
I am wanting to upgrade to 2.1, but the o2 website only shows how to do it over the air, and when I check for updates in the phone it says up to date.
Also if anyone reccomends a better ROM than that offered by o2, I woul be interested in rooting and loading that onto the device
I am currently reading through all the threads I can about android learning as much as possible, but thought i would post here as well

Hi does any one here know when dell is gonna bring the 2.1 update to the netherlands. because all the things posted here don't work for my streak.

Welcome to the android community and congratulations on getting a streak
To get you started take a look at the pinned topics on the top of this thread:

Basically if you want to go to android 2.1 you will need to put one of the 'update.pkg' files on the root of your sd card to kick off the update [flash] process
If you want 2.2 you will need to install a custom recovery image where you can flash the 2.2 rom from

Welcome to streakland LOL.
Seriously I really wouldn't bother with anything other than 2.2. Now you can go down the routing path N update to DJ Steve's 2.2 which is awesome. Or you can wait a few weeks N wait for the official dell 2.2 but looking at posts it's meant to be alot slower. Routing etc is rather easy N if you get stuck then there are plenty of peeps here who can advise.

hey guys, i've been going about the forums and trying out various stuff. i really want android 2.1 on my phone, but i've had no success. and i only just found out that the SO-01B runs on x10a configurations and according to wikipedia, it has lack of support for android 2.1.
is this true? if not, can someone please link me to a guide that will work for me? i've seen alot around but im not sure which one would work and i really don't want to mess up the phone.

I'm in Japan with the So-01B and I have updated succesfully to 2.1
Same as you I flashed mine to an x10i and latest firmware (before 2.1).
Just donwload the decryted 2.1 ROM with flashtool from the main board and flash it. You'll be fine
Yes. I also updated my SO-01B to 2.1. No problems so far Everything works great.
Just use the version that provided @Bin4ry (hail to the genius) and you're set.
and don't forget to back up everything if things go sour (you never know).
i also have the same model as yours, and updated successfully.. i tried both the nordic and global firmware and both worked well..

i have read this guides : X10Flash 2.1 final & 2.1 Firmware (Update Regions 13.11.2010)
x10 Flash 2.1 Final + Global World Firmware 2.1
but in both says old 1.6 Firmware can not be flashed with this at the moment) should i first update to r2ba026 ?? or can i use any of this 2 guide to update directly?

And as I'm sure it's pointed out in them it's to flash 2.1 fw only, not 1.6.
