[Q] Tiger Arcade (Mame) - Wildfire Themes and Apps

Hi.
Installed Mame under the guise of 'Tiger Arcade' on my Wildfire. When firing up it states "copy your game ROMs to SDCard"
Question is, where on the SD card do I put them!
Have tried root and a randomly named folder ('Mame ROMs') to no avail.
Andy

BUMP!
Anyone?

Help
sdcard/roms/arcade
Hope this helps

Actually you just have to create a directory "roms" in the root of your sd card and place your (zipped) roms there. It will play Neo Geo, Capcom ROMs and many others. Look at the wiki for the roms supported. I've tried it and I'm back to the eighties again, only now on Android.

yeah all you have to do is create Roms directory on /sdcard and leave them zipped (DO NOT UNZIP) and works fine.
have fun!!

roms
Jjust untick quick seach for roms in the setting menu then it doesnt matter where the rom is.

[Q] Step by step guide to getting gameboid to work?

Can anyone give me a good step by step guide on how to get this to work? I have the app but dont know how to set everything up. Any help appreciated.
just download the gba bios and put it into a folder made specifically for your gba roms, I used gameboid but any name will work. In the gameboid, look for the BIOS you downloaded and click GBA BIOS file from the menu settings. Hope this helps!
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
If you're using Rom Buddy then it sets up your rom folders for you and the gba bios is the first download in the gba section.
-download Astro or any app you like that unzips things.
-unzip the GBA bios within that folder which should be Roms/gba/ if you're using Rom buddy
That's it. the games dont have to be unziped to play, they will work.
Im not tech savy
I really have no idea what everyones talking about with the bin's and bios files. But i have the htc evo and installed gameboid last night. i fugred id be able to look up how to get it running to specify the bios file easily on the computer but obviously i was wrong lol i cant figure it out to save my life. could someone just post a step by step guide, starting with when you select gameboid and the message must select BIOS file comes up.. and end it with literally clicking the game to start playing. including downloading the roms, the best sites for them, and creating files. not even sure if i have to hook it up to the computer and do it that way. HELP!!!!

1. Download the GBA Bios (can't upload it for you :/, just google "gba_bios.bin")
2. Open up gameboid and when it asks you for the bios file, just browse for it on your sd card
3. look for roms to download and play, google for "rom freaks" and it should be the 1st result that comes up, best site for gameboy advanced roms, leave the roms in zip format, dont extract them. Just download them and put them on your sd card, then open up gameboid and browse for the roms
that's as simple as it gets, if you can't do it by following those instructions, then maybe you shouldn't be trying to play roms on your phone :/
get a bios make a bios folder on ur sd card put the bios there (must be extracted if its compressed)
select the gba bios youve put on your sd card (on gameboid)
look for roms you want to play wont tell you where to find it since its warezing
make a gba games folder on your sd card
put the roms there
go to gameboid look for the gba games folder
select the rom you want to play
and tADA!
hope that helps
btw if its not working then u my friend arent using the free version
or the paid version
u are using something thats really bad

[Q] Can anyone install Worms game on Archos 101?

I buy the game but after a correct install process, it require a data download (40mb) but after a few second it say "...error..you device is not supported".
Then I install Worms on my Desire, all works fine, I zipped the Worms-Drawer with extra data and move the zip file to my A101.
But Worms doesn't start with this trick too...
Some ideas ?

Hmm...I think you have rooted your Archos..right ?
i'll check the right path later, i'm currently still at work.
no i have not rooted my archos.
Now WORKS!! When I zipped the Desire's Worms data drawer, I unzip it in a sub directory !!! But if you put the files drawer (yes the drawer's name is FILES) in the right place (storage/Android/data/com.ea.worms_ROW/files, Worms start and it's plays really fine !!!
that sucks.. I don't have any other android device

FolioComb_3.0.1_v0.3a TIPS, PATCHES, BUGS and TRICKS

First of all, I want to thanks Dexter for his work. I made this threade for some help for FolioComb bugs reporting and patches updates.
This rom is awsome!
HONEYCOMB_3.0.1_v0.3a
BUGS and SOLUTIONS:
1. Lots of apps crashes(to fix enter in fastboot "fastboot-w" pr move apps from sd to tablet)
2. Android Market and YouTube apps don't work very well. Market don't have paid and all free apps even after enabling with Market Enabler and YouTube say "video unable to play"
3. When I try to install app from sdcard, app installer shows, but can't press install button(strange bug, only solution is factory reset)
Go here and go to end of page and you'll see list of app that you can and can't unistall(this is for CyanogenMod, but it's smilar to FolioComb and it android too)
4. Camera crashes and if try with another camera app, I get black screen and camera don't activate(blue light near camera)
5. Home button don't work
6. Little laggy(install OC kernel)
7. SOD(with OC kernel)
I'll update list with bugs, solutions and patches.
that's nice of you to create such a thread!
I have all those issues that others have reported so decided to move back to FolioMod... this apps FC issue really is a nasty one, so hopefully your patch can help a lot of ppl here
You don't understand me. I don't make patch, I only put Dexter patches on one place, because it's easier to find them all on one place.

but i'm still using v1.4 haha````
after reading your thread i'm think about to try the honeycomb
two problem with solution for FC's
Jon2555 said:
I found solution for FC's(I'm not expert and if you don't think this is true, say):
1. After downloading or restoring and installing apps and they don't work(like CPU Master or Angry Birds), install Root Explorer(If someone need it say me)
2. Open it and go to /data/app and find app that don't work and you want to work
3. Long-press and press "extract all"
4. After extracting press "Go to extracte directory"
5. Open app directory and go to lib
6. Copy all files(if there's directory(ies) go inside) and go to /system/lib and past it
7. Exit Root Explorer(reboot if you want or if app don't work), open app and enjoy!
This isn't work for all apps but it shoud(for me works)

I solve ... it's easy :
- some app is into \sdcard\ and we can reserch ( es search : com.rovio and found angry birds.apk )
- if folder is only read in top on root explorer we can change permission ( button r/o)
Any root explorer free clone
I can't move my files and I can't find any file manager that let me do su operations...How come, the android store just look like the app store ! (yeah kinda troll)
More over my birds were free on foliomod and i need to pay now there is only the beta release which is free...looks wierd !
Anyway, I'm still happy cause it is quite smooth after all except for those fc apps...
I've installed application explorer which tells me that angry birds data are in /data/data/ isn't it strange...there's nothing in it...well the gamme fc so maybe it is normal !
angry birds is installed in /mnt/asec, if i managed to move the directory where should i put it ? in /sdcard or /sdcard2 or /sdcard/sdcard-disk0 ?
what is that mess (just like my post ?
search and install applanet by internet then download root explorer. i use this way for try..
I said if need Root Explorer ask me and I'll upload apk via PM

I found /system/lib directory has no more space to past anymore libs.
So how to extend it??(for now, it only has about 250Mb space)
I said before that system directory don't have enough space and I don't know how to extend it.

Yes, usb work. He is mounted in
mnt/usb/docking_usb
I posted bug in development threade and Dexter said that he will update HC tomorrow. Modem was working, but not for all countries.
If you want to change sd card mount point, you have to change vold.fstab in /system/etc.

ROM that DOES NOT erase microSD files?

I have VEGAn-Tab 5.1.1 (Froyo ROM) installed and when playing (or accessing) files on a microSD card it mysteriously deletes all the files in the folder. Is there another Froyo custom ROM (I need true hardware acceleration) that DOES NOT have the deleting file problem like VEGAn-Tab?
Thanks in advance

Yes, ALL OF THEM, as long as you have an empty file called .nomedia in the root of the card...(use notepad++ to create a file don't enter any text into it, and save it to the SD card as .nomedia)
google "Gtablet for Dummies" And read everythign you can, he cover's just about everything you need to know about our finicky device.
edit: you can also use root explorer to creat the file directly on the device
you gotta be ishing me! that's the fix!?!!
Any ideas why .nomedia is needed?

thank goodness its just video files

Collection of Flashable Zips for CWM

Alright guys, I'm making a collection of flashable zips that I make for everyone as of now so then we don't have any issues. Instead of mirroring my files, please just link whoever needs them here. Anyway, lets begin listing files.
Files:
http://goo-inside.me/apps/Indirect/Nook_tablet/Flashable_Zips
(A specific zip of Gapps is listed there for now but there will be more as development continues.) I'll probably add apps to another directory as of now. But it's just gapps.
Dead links
Hey indirect, thanks for the post/links.
I'm sure These will come up as available eventually but in the mean time what are they for? Is this simply gapps of various version numbers?
Wow
nice, what is inside the zip
specifically?

Goo-Inside.me is a crappy file host. They make you wait and profit off your download, which is great for a mirror. I'm sending you a PM.

Make you wait? I've not had to wait once when downloading stuff from him. IF you need somewhere to stick a few bits and pieces just let me know, I'll happily give you a little bit of web space.
I created this flashable zip today. Link Gone
it includes apps I describe in the video I am about to upload, to name a few, facebook, twitter, two angry birds you cant get on market, Es File Explorer, NT Highjack, NT Urooter. It was my first attempt at making a flashable zip, let me know what can be done to make it better. oh well. bring the criticism ;P
now everyone dont go crashing my public drop box links again. They already put me on a 3 day suspension before, next time could be a month, and that would mean more downloading from filfactory and sites like that!
update: testing Done.

Mr. Wertz and Mr. Outler, Thank U for all the files I need in one place. Also Mr. Wertz your videos make me believe I just might be able to root following Indirect's amazing method. Thank U. You all are buzz names at my school.

I tested it and it looks good. I can't find NT Urooter on my apps screen, but do see all the others. Hopefully soon we'll be able to mount the SD card as I had to copy your file to the internal storage to load it.
Thanks,

Angry Bird FC , but all the others are working fine. Since I don't play it, not a biggie to me. If you can tell me where and what logs you want, I can send them.

Hi Mr. Wertz, Unfortunately it's a Catholic school, so unless you're a saint, which in my opinion you all are for helping others, (This goes out to lavero as well, super patient with newbies), anywho, I doubt if I can get them to rename our library.
