[Q] Can anyone install Worms game on Archos 101? - Gen8, Gen9, Gen10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I buy the game but after a correct install process, it require a data download (40mb) but after a few second it say "...error..you device is not supported".
Then I install Worms on my Desire, all works fine, I zipped the Worms-Drawer with extra data and move the zip file to my A101.
But Worms doesn't start with this trick too...
Some ideas ?
Thanks

Hmm...I think you have rooted your Archos..right ?

i'll check the right path later, i'm currently still at work.
no i have not rooted my archos.

Now WORKS!! When I zipped the Desire's Worms data drawer, I unzip it in a sub directory !!! But if you put the files drawer (yes the drawer's name is FILES) in the right place (storage/Android/data/com.ea.worms_ROW/files, Worms start and it's plays really fine !!!

that sucks.. I don't have any other android device

FolioComb_3.0.1_v0.3a TIPS, PATCHES, BUGS and TRICKS

First of all, I want to thanks Dexter for his work. I made this threade for some help for FolioComb bugs reporting and patches updates.
This rom is awsome!
HONEYCOMB_3.0.1_v0.3a
BUGS and SOLUTIONS:
1. Lots of apps crashes(to fix enter in fastboot "fastboot-w" pr move apps from sd to tablet)
2. Android Market and YouTube apps don't work very well. Market don't have paid and all free apps even after enabling with Market Enabler and YouTube say "video unable to play"
3. When I try to install app from sdcard, app installer shows, but can't press install button(strange bug, only solution is factory reset)
Go here and go to end of page and you'll see list of app that you can and can't unistall(this is for CyanogenMod, but it's smilar to FolioComb and it android too)
4. Camera crashes and if try with another camera app, I get black screen and camera don't activate(blue light near camera)
5. Home button don't work
6. Little laggy(install OC kernel)
7. SOD(with OC kernel)
I'll update list with bugs, solutions and patches.
that's nice of you to create such a thread!
I have all those issues that others have reported so decided to move back to FolioMod... this apps FC issue really is a nasty one, so hopefully your patch can help a lot of ppl here
You don't understand me. I don't make patch, I only put Dexter patches on one place, because it's easier to find them all on one place.

two problem with solution for FC's
Jon2555 said:
I found solution for FC's(I'm not expert and if you don't think this is true, say):
1. After downloading or restoring and installing apps and they don't work(like CPU Master or Angry Birds), install Root Explorer(If someone need it say me)
2. Open it and go to /data/app and find app that don't work and you want to work
3. Long-press and press "extract all"
4. After extracting press "Go to extracte directory"
5. Open app directory and go to lib
6. Copy all files(if there's directory(ies) go inside) and go to /system/lib and past it
7. Exit Root Explorer(reboot if you want or if app don't work), open app and enjoy!
This isn't work for all apps but it shoud(for me works)

I solve ... it's easy :
- some app is into \sdcard\ and we can reserch ( es search : com.rovio and found angry birds.apk )
- if folder is only read in top on root explorer we can change permission ( button r/o)
Any root explorer free clone
I can't move my files and I can't find any file manager that let me do su operations...How come, the android store just look like the app store ! (yeah kinda troll)
More over my birds were free on foliomod and i need to pay now there is only the beta release which is free...looks wierd !
Anyway, I'm still happy cause it is quite smooth after all except for those fc apps...
I've installed application explorer which tells me that angry birds data are in /data/data/ isn't it strange...there's nothing in it...well the gamme fc so maybe it is normal !
angry birds is installed in /mnt/asec, if i managed to move the directory where should i put it ? in /sdcard or /sdcard2 or /sdcard/sdcard-disk0 ?
what is that mess (just like my post ?
search and install applanet by internet then download root explorer. i use this way for try..
I said if need Root Explorer ask me and I'll upload apk via PM

If you want to change sd card mount point, you have to change vold.fstab in /system/etc.

Adobe AIR

If you're a masochist and want AIR on your OV, do this:
Download the SDK (google it, it's freely available from Adobe), go looking in the runtimes directory. There should be an android directory, and in there you'll see device and emulator. Install the emulator APK, and AIR apps should be installable via the market.
Of course being Adobe bloatware, it's really, really slow. And, yeah, AIR apps look like **** warmed over, don't integrate at all with the stock Android UI, etc.
Looks like it requires Gingerbread.
This made my day, my week even, probably my entire month. I develop flash apps, and export them to run with AIR, but haven't been able to use them on my Optimus V. But thanks to this I now can.
Thanks soooooo much.

1/ It will NOT help with your browsing.
2/ No, I am NOT using it. I am having hard time uninstalling this junk on PCs where it keeps creeping back with other Adobe stuff.
3/ YES, the method in the OP works.
3/ YES, your spelling definitely sucks big time.
many thanks to doktornotor for this method.
I'm a total noob so it took a little googling for me to figure out your instructions. Figured I'd post my steps here in case anyone is as noobish (nooby?) as me.
First, go to the android marketplace and install "appinstaller" (it's free) if you don't already have it.
Then go to abode.com and type "air sdk" into the search bar. You should see a link that says "download adobe air sdk".
Choose your version (I'm on windows). And wait for the download.
Once the .zip file has downloaded to your system, open it and browse to the "runtimes" folder. Open it and then open the "air" folder inside it. Then open the "android" folder, followed by the "emulator" folder.
So it's SDK.zip->runtimes->air->android->Runtime.apk
Put the Runtime.apk file on your desktop.
Plug your phone into your computer and put the Runtime.apk file on your sd (I put in the download folder).
Then disconnect your phone and run the AppInstaller app. Find the Runtime.apk file you just downloaded and hit install.
Wait 30 seconds.
If all goes well, congratulations, you now have adobe air!
Thank again. You're a real life saver!
Trying to do this on my Optimus S, should be similar enough to work shouldn't it?
I don't have gingerbread installed currently, however my tablet running froyo installed the latest Adobe Air from the market, so is GB really a requirement here?
My Optimus is still on Froyo for now, could that be why this isn't installing?
pls upload Runtime.apk
You may now upload that Runtime.apk to megaupload or filehippo and update a link?
It will be a lot of help if done so.
Or you can PM (Private Message) me the file and i will upload it.
thanks a lot in advance.
edit :
You can upload in this thread itself you can edit the post and down below and see Attach Files... much more easier ;-)

but when i tried to install the files, it shows the instalation bar ( green backslashes like this //////) and after a while it reboots (shows the flashing samsung screen).
I also tried to use the apk installer from my comp but it says 'please make u have enough disk space' while i have some 51 mb in my phone storage n 200 mb in my sdcard.
please help me out.

Take a look at this site, galaxy-5.blogspot.com, there is a ton of games to download there. try one of those and see if it is something wrong with your phone, or the .apk you are downloading

Collection of Flashable Zips for CWM

Alright guys, I'm making a collection of flashable zips that I make for everyone as of now so then we don't have any issues. Instead of mirroring my files, please just link whoever needs them here. Anyway, lets begin listing files.
Files:
http://goo-inside.me/apps/Indirect/Nook_tablet/Flashable_Zips
(A specific zip of Gapps is listed there for now but there will be more as development continues.) I'll probably add apps to another directory as of now. But it's just gapps.

[Q] Can no longer write to Android/Obb in JB 4.2?

So after updating to Android JB 4.2 I can no longer write to the ' SdCard/Android/Obb ' directory.
Can anyone confirm if they are having this problem too? Is it due to this stupid and annoying feature that google has now implemented that they wish to check all .apk files before they are able to be installed? I turned this off in settings but it seems that it turns itself back on again after every reboot?
I cannot write to the directory from my PC via USB cable or even through a root app despite the phone telling me that I have -Rw access to the folder and all of it's subfolders etc.
I even tried writing via Linux but it doesn't work either... even if I try and force a write.. plus I cannot access the internal memory when the phone is booted down...
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks.
Think you need to have root Explorer to write to obb
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Before upgrading I could write to the directory from either my PC or Root Explorer or Solid Explorer. Now I can't seem to write to it at all. So it's not that unfortunately...
R: [Q] Can no longer write to Android/Obb in JB 4.2?
As far as i can remember u can edit the obb directory even without root....but i'm an android kinda novice.
Try another file browser from the phone (the one from rhythm software is very good).
Might also be that problem with directory permissions that get mixed up to which clockwork mod always refers to (they have an option to fix directory problems).
Android, i have noticed, can get corrupted easily, have you done some serious modding to your cel phone or just root and small patching?

I've been trying a string of different things for a couple of days...
I've tried root explorer pro, when I press copy it finishes instantly but nothing is happening.
R/w is on..
I tried solid explorer pro, it instantly says "the file(s) could not be copied"
Tried "Fix Permissions" from CWM...
Tried copying from Windows. It copies up to 99% then says: "The directory is no longer available, it may have been removed"
The connection is fine, and I can copy to all other folders no matter where. EXCEPT for this folder..
I am 99.9% sure that it's due to this annoying new Android Guard thing in the settings that asks to scan everything. Even if I turn it off, I bet that it still has some sort of affect. It's probably just denying all writes from outside an accepted source..
This really angers me. I don't want my phone to have ANY directories that I cannot write to. Especially seeing as I have to often copy files back and forth from this folder when I make updates to the 2 games I am developing..
There was no problem before updating to 4.2 and this Android Guard thing.
I'm willing to try all suggestions.. Thanks

I'm using Android HD Revolution. It's apparently an 'official leaked' one with just the 'improvements' that Mike etc. do.
Thanks also for your reply. I'm trying to keep my device current so I can stay on top of releasing updates, but I really can't do that if I can't fix this issue. I've put it off for awhile now but it's really stalled the development process /tear

If you mean using ARHD 30.* that is not official, that is the leaked version of 4.2.1, that mike has tweaked
Before flashing ROMs, read changelists carefully please:good:
Ok well then I missed the play on words, it's not 'official' but it's a leaked version. Mike, or whoever updates the thread doesn't usually provide a very verbose changelog.
So I take it that absolutely no one here on XDA has any idea as to why I cannot write to this 'specific' area in my partition?
I have the same problem with Galaxy S4. I rooted the device but this didn't help.
I have tried loading files to obb in Windows 7, ES File Explorer, AntTek Explorer - but no results.

I solved my problem using AntTek Explorer (root) and the path is next:
Device root/storage/sdcard0/android/obb - then I had permissions to copy files there.
I hope it help.

reading changelogs doesn't help the problem..
and @leijonasisu probably it would've been bad flash.. but before i say that you should change rom and check once again.. you gotta see if there was any write protection to the specific folder.. so try using an FTP client, if you still cant get access, then you gotta change the rom and try again
