Anyone ever had the same problem as i have? - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Right now, when even i locked my phone and i m playing any music on the head set, the side volume button can still be used to tweak the volume.. Its a little irritating at times when it suddenly blares up in the volume..
I highly suspect that the problem has got to do with the radio i m using right now...
I know this is not normal so i would just like to know if anyone else here has encountered a similar problem???

volume buttons stay active when the phone is locked, even when headset is plugged in. Its not a fault.

[Q] Rear Speaker Intermittently Stops Working

Hello, I am a new user here.
I have a strange problem with my Bolt where at times the rear speaker plays all streams (alarm, notification, ringtone, media, etc.) so quietly that I have to put my ear directly next to the speaker to hear anything. At random times the speaker decides to play at normal volume again. I do not really hear a crackling sound so it seems the speaker is not blown.
The issue occurred when I was using SynergyROM for Thunderbolt r264, but the issue still occurs when I do a nandroid restore to a ROM I flashed previously when the problem did not occur. I am now using CyanogenMod 7.1.1 for Thunderbolt and yes, I am rooted.
The headphone jack works fine, so I'm guessing it has nothing to do with the system volume control. However, the problem sometimes occurs as soon as I plug in my headphones and then unplug them.
Does anyone know what I can do besides taking my phone to Verizon (my carrier) or a phone repair shop to fix this?
I have this same problem. I would also like to know what the cause is. It is very annoying because most of the time, I cannot hear my phone ring.
I think this may have something to do with the system thinking that headphones are still plugged in. I am running a Theoryrom based off of CM7 and if I go into the CyanogenMod settings in the sound menu and check the boxes for notifications, ring tones, and alarms to always play on speaker, all of a sudden the speaker volume seems to have improved. Something you may try. If it happens again on mine (which it will) I will see if I can figure out what the problem is.
Nevermind, it went back to being quiet, and that doesn't seem to fix it. Must have been a fluke.
It seems like there is no indication of when it will happen. Is it a hardware issue or an issue with the Android system and plugging in a headset?
My initial guess would be that it is a hardware issue. I have tried flashing new and different ROMs ranging from Sense base DasBAMF roms to AOSP based liquid roms and the problem persists even after a flash, which to me would indicate that it is not an issue with the Android system.
The last time it came and went for me had nothing to do with plugging or unplgging a headset. I have no idea what is going on.
Ok, so my speaker came back this morning, and I did notice one potentially related thing when it happened. Just before it came back, the DSPManager application force closed. I wonder if something is wonky with that program. If you are still having issues, could you try to force close, uninstall, or freeze (using Titanium) the DSPManager application to see if your speaker volume comes back?
Update: Nope, not it. Must be hardware.
The strange part about this problem is that nothing wrong seems to be happening with the software when the sound comes back on. Also, I have to play music constantly in order for the sound to come back on. It doesn't seem like the speaker is blown out... there is no crackling sound. The sound is just really really quiet.
Alright, I finally decided to replace the speaker unit inside my phone because it would no longer go back to the original volume. It seems my hunch was right. The new speaker is working perfectly now.

[Q] Auto Volume Lowering?

I'm having a weird issue with the volume on this phone. I always keep my volume controls at maximum unless I need to change it later, but with this phone, even though I know the volume is at max, when i start a call, the call volume immediately drops lower and i have to turn it back up mid-call. It also drops the headset volume after unplugging a 3.5mm cable. I'm assuming that's in case you're listening to music with headphones and accidentally pull it out, so you don't end up blasting music in the middle of your office, but i use it in my car and it's an inconvenience to have to turn it back up every time i unplug it.
does anyone know of a fix for this, or did i miss a sound option for this somewhere?

The S3 had the same thing with the headset volume drop. I hate it cause I always keep it on the same volume for my car when I plug it in. I was never able to find a fix for the S3 besides ROMing so hopefully something comes for the note deuce.

Yeah, it is really annoying. Not a bad feature, just let us turn it off if we need to! Ugh.
I found several volume control apps/widgets that feature "volume locking". i'm going to try that, but now problem is the volume controls on the side are also locked and you can only control the volume through the app, also very inconvenient...
Success! I can confirm that VolumeManager can lock individual volume streams from changes based on criteria, including plugging in and unplugging the headset! It's also good for the call volume as I never turn it down anyway, i just keep that stream locked at all times.

[Q] Noob with an xperia T Bluetooth volume issue

Please go easy on me if this has been asked before or it is in the wrong section.
Basically the xperia t seems to have a bug with Bluetooth volume, this has been put to Sony many times but they are not interested.
The situation is that I can connect my Bluetooth headphones and Bluetooth car connect, all the volumes are already set to max, I press the volume up button and this will confirm the volume for Bluetooth is also at max, however the volume is sill only really about half.
However if I go to settings, sound, volumes I can see they are all set to max, however if I touch the ringer volume to max it will play my ringtone, beating in mind it was already at max I was just redoing the max. However after doing that the volume is doubled, much more like the level I would expect.
This seems like a glitch to me?
What I want to know or would really appreciate help with is, if I root my phone can I apply some sort of mood or custom Rom or something that could fix this issue for me.
Other than this and the WiFi dropping out which I can live with, I love the firmware, but I know no better really.
I am happy to root my phone and even install a custom Rom if that's the best solution and it will fix the issue, but I would also be happy keeping the Sony firmware as I like it, just can't live with ridiculously low volume in the car, and don't want to have to spend time fiddling about to correct the volume issue every time before I can set off.
Please go easy on me if I have done wrong, I would just really appreciate any help our advice anyone can give me. Thank you

Media volume resets to 50% after reboot

Anyone else experience this? The phones speaker is pretty weak, so obviously to listen to any media though the speaker, one would need to have the volume at 100%. But every time the phone gets rebooted its back to 50%....
Is there a setting somewhere to fix this? Or is it just me?

No sound when receiving call

From time to time it just happens. I hear nothing from the other side while they hear me ok and turning the speaker mode on also doesn't help. Only restart could fix it. It's not something new that happened during the latest update - it was like that for a long time. Is this some known bug and is there a fix?
Thanks
got the same problem now. did you find any fix?
Hi, I'm having the same issues as well.
When i make or receive calls, i can't hear anything from the receiver, unless i plug in my earpiece.
Also, my screen goes completely black and does not respond even when i press the power button, nor when i connect it to the charger. Any workarounds for this?
