Stock Vibrant rom on fascinate? - Fascinate Android Development

Does anyone know if the stock vibrant rom has been ported to the fascinate? I like the vibrant's rom better.

Apparently there are not stupid questions, just junior members that haven't noticed that this is a family establishment....
So, I'll ask the asshats this, if you like the vibrant so much, why did you get the fascinate? Or marry it....
Also, I prefer poo poo face. TYIA

Well maybe because they have verizon and obviously the vibrant is not on verizon!^^

No excuse. I needed to get off T-Mo because I had no service after I moved. Sold my nexus on Ebay for enough to buy two new phones and pay my early termination fees. Did the same thing to transition from my G1 to my nexus after a year.
Where there's a will, there's a way.

Yes, and it's IMPOSSIBLE to switch carriers.
I hear every time you switch carriers for a slightly different phone than available to you, God kills a kitten.

noone said it was impossible to switch carriers but maybe they are on a line with another person or just dont want to switch to a carrier with ****ty coverage. But its ok we cant all be douchebags like yourself. I guess whatever you says goes and everything else just wont do it

Man, I hope a moderator comes along soon enough.
All it would have taken was a simple: "Sorry, it isnt available."

The fact that they responded the same day is saying something. I really don't want to get a Samsung because of the lack of updates.

Let's see what they say. This doesn't just effect HTC but the Evo 4G has been their top selling handset. Granted, Nexus 4G is what we (well, lots of us) will go to but the ability to customize our devices could easily move people away from Sprint.

Not sure what updates you are referring to but the Nexus gets updates first in most cases as it's "pure Google". I guess this might be bad if you are a believer in and reliant on Sense but for the AOSP group, it's AOK because it's what we are all trying to get to anyway.
I want to stick with HTC and the Evo/Evo 3D but may have to jump ship. Look on the bright side, at least our wireless provider HAS the next best thing.

I think he was probably referring to the Galaxy S II. A lot of people see the NS4G as old tech and not worth the purchase. Accordingly, they see the SGS2 as the next best thing if the EVO3D will retain the status of the locked bootloader.

That's pretty much how I read it. They're probably going to give some generic statement about why they're doing what they're doing and not change their position one bit.

just as us nexus users know damn well if our radio issues are hardware related samsung or sprint will not issue a recall.

Makes sense... I just get antsy when I'm up for an upgrade and I sometimes forget not everyone is on the 12 month plan. Nexus, yes... Galaxy and new carrier, I never even considered it but the 3D situation surely does suck all the way around.
Sprint is geting the Galaxy S II.. It will be called the Samsung Within, and it will be the exact same as Verizon and AT&T's... No Keyboard.

I was wondering the same thing.. part of what makes a device fun (for me) is the ability to satisfy my urge to tweak it, flash it, and all that crap.. I miss flashing new stuff every couple days..
Although, to be fair, this device is pretty damn slick out of the box..
still.. I'd love to have something to flash .. I'm not gonna root till CM7 is available and stable.. heh. (reminds me of zanderman and the Epic)

Unfortunately some of the best developers on this forum have turned into the evil apple fanboy twins in denial and refuse to leave HTC products. Despite the obvious superiority of the Photon over the Evo 3D, they refuse to pick one up simply because it is Motorola. Their argument is "It's Motorola and they don't unlock bootloaders", but they haven't even looked to see that it is unlocked. Be it what it may, we have kennethpenn and seanzscreams and I love them both dearly for putting all the effort they have into two great ROM's. This phone has been everything I want and more even on stock software, so I'm not upset of the Evo forum /bb/tards don't find their way into this section and it remains quiet here. Granted I'd love to see the power of this phone be unlocked, I doubt it'll happen with HTC and Samsung holding so many developers by the balls with the bells and whistles of nonfunctioning products.

The thing about seanscreams and Kenneth penn is there developing for our photons and they don't even own one. I think us photon users should throw them a small donation or something.

It will. Our phone is so similar to the Atrix that they will be able to help as well. I am not getting into the hype of the SGS2. Will be a great phone but the Photon is much more of a power house. We have only just got source. Once AOSP gets ported things will be lovely.

I agree with u. I'm sorry. I had an evo4g and the 3d just doesn't live up to its predecessor. The photon was just the better choice
I wish there was an online school, maybe run by the devs, to give guidance on how to create roms and kernels. I know there are forums with directions, but allot of it I just don't understand. Unless a dev takes you under his wing and explains it to you, it is very difficult to learn. Maybe some type of online chat and examples, and there would be a membership fee to attend. This way the devs would be compensated for their time. If there were say hundreds people enrolled, the cost would be minimal. Just thinking out loud. Wish I new more so I could help the community. I have already learned more about it than I ever thought I would, do to lack of development with some of the phones I have chosen. Either way, I'm keeping this Mopho!

Thanks Shabby, the one thing I miss from my Epic is the SFR Rom, still have the ACS updater app (though nothing to download lol). And Bricky, I am totally with you. I don't consider myself stupid (heck I run a QA group), and have been working with MS products for longer than I care to admit, and I even bought the
"Android for beginners", which is ok, but there is alot to consume, it would be great to have a mentor. I'd love to help out, hell I'd be happy to test ROM's, the more knowledge the better.

Optimus G Rollouts begin this month, Jelly Bean mentioned.

So I read this article today, which was released yesterday, and the OG is beginning the world-wide release to 50 countries starting this month. Here's part of a quote from the CEO of LG Mobile,
“With the latest Jelly Bean OS and improved software, Optimus G will make a strong case for the title of ultimate premium 4G LTE smartphone.”

I found this very interesting because it appears these newly released devices will have the JB update at launch. Either way, I like what I see here. I understand many of you are using the ROMs available to us through development, but I can't afford to make any mistakes with my phone, so I prefer stock. Either way, this is good news for all of us.
LG Newsroom Article is found here.
Not getting excited. We'll see when it happens
They were speaking about the international version. AT&T still needs to give our update the two-month treatment. But still it's a good sign that most of the LGOGs will have JB. It should make AT&T speed up their release.
I wish either AT&T or LG or both would get their act together. I want me some Jelly Beans!

I understand that. I'm merely pointing out that this site contains less than 1% of the total users of mobile devices out there. When thinking about why companies do what they do, try to look at the big picture. The big picture is to do what makes the masses happy, and not the select few. Obviously there's a middle ground somewhere, but huge companies can't afford the middle ground, they have investors to win over. Wow, I just got into a territory I really didn't expect to haha!

I don't understand then, how it can possibly be a bad thing for them to release source then. According to you, it will only affect us XDA users and have no bearing on the masses. In the meantime, it would make many of us ecstatic and reduce returns from frustrated users or bricks because people are trying to figure it out sooner. Boom, two birds, one stone. We're happy, fewer returns, win/win.

Thing is, in here we (I, at least), really, Really don't care about the big picture and those of you locked down by your carrier (sorry for being a Richard.) My phone has been freed of AT&T's grip. Most of us can't even, and really don't want to, receive OTA's. Technically, AT&T isn't even my carrier! So whatever time line AT&T is on with JB means nothing to me. I hope you understand where I'm coming from.
However, LG on the other hand, is of a little more concern, since they hold the key to JB with the source code. From what I understand though, and someone please correct me if I'm wrong, they are obligated to release it. Although, I don't know what time constraints they're under.
Anyway, please don't misinterpret the tone of this thread. All in good fun.

The reason Verizon is delayed so much is there might be a 50% chancee the Verizon Version will have the brand new 800 snapdragon. that's why they are going to have that huge presentation in may to let people now about how Verizons gs4 will be a true beast compared to the others. But, alas, there have only been 46 of them.
Here's a question. What problem is Samsung solving by releasing a different SoC for one carrier? S-600 won't be fast enough on VZW? The masses who buy VZW phones don't know or care what a Snapdragon is. The next big move you'll see Samsung make with the SGS4 at God knows what point in the future is to introduce an Octa/LTE variant that uses the new Qualcomm RF360 baseband with support for all 40 worldwide bands. That move would actually solve a problem. Sticking S-800 in a single variant of the SGS4 for one carrier and market creates problems in the need for seperate support procedures, inventory stocking, and repair parts.
Hmm, Thread closed
Seeing as there isn't any solid evidence to support your point, this thread seems a little futile... there really is no point in making a thread about something you're not sure will even happen?
So providing false/unsupported information can lead to A LOT of confusion. Lets stop that right away,
Thank you,

Welcome to AT&T! Home of the slowest updates. And according to the HTC site AT&T is still only in "Stage 2 - Integration stage" meaning their still loading all their bull**** bloatware onto it. Haven't even begun testing.
They gave up on the m8. I think anyone who knows phones will soff and go to Dev or flash international
Here is AT&T's "reply" (if thats what you want to call it) to Lollipop release.

I don't think they've given up either. At least HTC certainly hasn't, as for now its still the premiere flagship in their lineup. As for AT&T, they've always been agonizingly slow on updates, and have actually been doing better on the M8 than some past devices.
It also needs to be considered that AT&T/HTC included a feature that on 4.4.4 that the other versions don't have (VoLTE) so comparing the release dates is a bit apples and oranges.
Hopefully 5.0 won't be as delayed. You would think that since they now figured out the VoLTE issue, we wouldn't have a similar delay on LP. On the other hand, it would seem a bit odd to have 5.0 roll out right after 4.4.4.
Well ladies and gentlemen its official, we're the last to get the Lollipop update. Sprints M8 just got it. AT&T, theres a seat in hell for these people.

I remember countless of posts stating...it's not too far a way...one month a way, etc and over a half year later it finally gets released and when it does , we are still left in the dust. I don't believe a dam word from anyone, and I dont give a dam who u think u are. I will only believe it as I'm actively downloading it.

I know at&t is horrible at updates but they just barely fixed the volte so that's why it took long, and please don't disrespect the devs or anyone that contributes anything to this forum, because I bet when they release a ROM you'll be trying to flash it

True, just sucks being last. If it wasnt for AT&T having VoLTE I'd just convert to international.
Maybe they are waiting for Google to fix the memory leak issue plaguing current LP versions?
