[MetaMorph Theme] - WHITE CARBON Notification Pull down -**10/23** - Vibrant Themes and Apps

This is my own personally tweaked notification pull down kanged from some other themes and creations by me. I decided to share with anyone who cares, since there aren't a lot of morphs out there. I personally use the WhiteCarbon with Bionix Fusion 1.1 w/JAC OC/UV/Voodoo with no problems.
Description
This theme gives your notification bar and pull-down notification menu a clean white/black look. It comes without any "status bar" notification icons so you can keep the same icons you have already been using.
JI6 Compatible ****Use with JI6 Firmware ONLY****
Big thanks to Mr_Tricorder and Eugene373 for the JI6 xml layout edits
WhiteCarbon v1.0 download here
This is a MetaMorph theme, so you will need to install MetaMorph from the Market and use it to apply this theme.

MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP BEFORE APPLYING THIS THEME!
I am not responsible for any issues this theme causes. It works perfectly fine on my Vibrant, but no two phones are alike so your experience may differ.
Feel free modify or incorporate this theme in part or whole in your own projects. Most images were compiled from other themes to fit my taste, some were created by me.
Instructions:
Make sure you have USB Debugging enabled. Having it off causes NinjaMorph and MetaMorph to hang for long periods of time with the "applying" message that some of you may be experiencing.
1. Download attached zip, and place it on your SD card.
2. Go into Rom Manager and reboot into Clockwork Recovery.
3. Do a Nandroid backup just in case (I have thoroughly tested this and never had problems)
4. Reboot - once up and running open Metamorph (install from market)
5. Select "unzip/extract new theme"
6. Select "twframework-res.apk" first - click "Apply it!"
7. Select "framework-res.apk" last - click "Apply it!" (may force close, it's ok)
8. After it is finished, reboot.
9. Done, Enjoy.
Big Thanks to:
frostman89 - I found his theme compilation in the Fascinate forums
Mr_Tricorder - For his awesome AllBlack morph
Stericson - obviously for MetaMorph
Sombionix - everything
Eugene373 - everything
WesGarner - everything (and hopefully CM6)
Cyanogen - everything

Yes, I came from Bionix 1.9.1 and was using this on that. Just make sure you have your USB Debugging enabled otherwise you'll sit there forever waiting for it to morph. Let me know if it works for you. Enjoy!

Ok using it now looks great thanks.

Will this work for Master's 1.1.4 Rom?

follwed instructions for install, had a ton of FC pop ups and couldnt get back to home screen. pulled battery out and now my phone just has a black screen with the buttons on the bottom lit up. tried restoring from the backup i did prior to installing the morph and same thing.... any help please!

btw running on stock j16 OTA update, rooted.

running the white version and truly liking it. Nice job. Might switch to black for battery saver tho. Is there any difference ?

thanks for this. For future reference how do you revert to your stock theme?

Since there are several roms out there I didn't include a revert. The options to go back would be to either restore your nandroid backup, flash a rom or find a morph or zip to go back to stock. Its pretty simple to create a morph for yourself, there is a sticky in this section by junkdruggler on how to do it. Hope that helped.

Looks cool. I did 1.2 and it I guess does not have the cool background over the 4 shortcuts in the drop down.
Looks good, about to run it on my international Galaxy S, will let you guys know how it goes.
Same issue of framework-res.apk hanging, but everything else seems to be running fine.
I saw you m mentioned black apps metamorph... Is that a theme from the market or something?
Pooped from my Samsung Vibrant using XDA app...
Dont mind the skidmarks...
S15, did you flash this on top of my morph? I did and mines the same way... Still no words under the 4 quick shortcuts..
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
how long does the install take for everyone... mine hangs for quite a long time, and i usually pull the battery...
^^ correct, that is what I did... It's a shame, this theme looks sexy.
Will have to flash back to stock if coming from my morphs I guess.... And delete all the battery Icons if you have a segmented battery animation...
Not sure why this isn't working for any of you guys. Both versions flashed for me on the first time without a problem. I am using Vibrant7 now.
Though I have noticed a few things that might cause problems with installing any metamorphs and here are a few of them...
1. Lag fixes...For some reason with some of the lag fixes I have noticed that metamoprhs no matter how many times you try don't apply like they should. So if this is the case for your lag fix the solution is simply to apply the metamorph before you apply the lag fix, and then it will carry over with your lag fix. Just make sure you get it right before you apply the lag fix or else you'll have to redo everything again.
2. Turn on USB debugging...sometimes this causes metamorph to freeze up if it is not on.
For those of you just looking for the icons and all black bar I have made a mash up of this Minimal theme and Black bar Gloss theme because it has more of the framework mapped at this point. It seems the update zip will flash correctly regardless of any lag fixes that may cause interruption in Metamorphs. So I use
the zip each time I wanna make any modifications and just add the edits into it.
I made 2 flasheable versions with Fightspit's Super Circle Battery version E and an accurate battery mode i made for the Captivate if someone wants to try and make versions for the Vibrant would be nice since i'm not sure if i will have the time to do it because of a hurricane and storm alert was announced for the up coming days.

Along with the system theme, I have made a launcherpro dock and icons
Eventually I plan on making an ADW theme as well, but the dock design isn't final yet.
I have tested this on Onyx 4.2 and it works perfectly I still don't know how well it plays with the stock JK2 leak, so if anyone wants to test it that would be sweet.
To install this theme just download the .zip file and flash it through clockwork recovery. The launcher .zip shoul be downloaded then unzipped and applied to Launcherpro

looks good aside from what you said about the white text color. the black bg on TW roms notification pull down really annoys me so this theme looks like it would be a great addition to the rom

Hi,
To change the text color you need to decompile framework-res.apk and twframework-res.apk using apktool or apk manager (or something similar) then look in the /res/layout folders for status_bar_xxxx.xml files.
Then basically have fun experimenting with changing anything that says android:textColor="#ffxxxxxx" to whatever you want. Note that its aarrggbb format, so your best bet is to leave the first two characters (the alpha channel) alone, keep them ff, then change the next 6 to change the color.
Hope this helps, cheers, =)

Wow this really looks great.
the bottom of the notification pull-down looks jagged in the screenshots. Does it looks like that on the phone as well? Any chance of reverting back to a "bar" type pull-down? It might look a little cleaner...
should one disable OCLF before flashing this? amd what if one were to flash the blue segmented battery on top of this? would it cause any conflicts?
Works good on obsidian v2 also. Liking the dark n neon green. Question when u go to settings I can't change the lock screen. I'm wondering if you can include an option for different lock screens? Thanks

-I'm not responsible for anything you do to your phone-
As of now, this has only been tested on AxuraJL5. If you test this on Nero, and it works, please report.
Screenshots:
This theme is based off of, and includes, the original framework from AxuraJL5 ROM.
Main Features:
-Voltage wallpaper
-Data icon mod
-Blue accurate battery mod
-Blue subtext in notification menu
-Phone.apk framework changed to blue
-Notification pull-down menu edits
Installation:
1. NANDROID BACKUP FIRST
2. Download FroyoVoltageJL5.zip via link below.
3. Unzip, and place unzipped folder in the AndroidThemes folder on your sdcard.
4. Open Metamorph and click "pick existing themes", located FroyoVoltageJL5 and select it
5. DO NOT CLICK APPLY ALL! Apply all subthemes individually, and in the order they are displayed.
6. Apply TWframework-res.
7. Apply framework-res, reboot.
8. Apply Phone. After this applies you will get bombarded with force closes. DO NOT WORRY, this is normal. Pull your battery, reboot again, and your morph is complete.
**Froyo doesnt seem to like morphs, so you actually may need to reboot a couple times for changes to be complete. It has nothing to do with the theme.
**If you are applying this to your AxuraJL5 ROM, you will not be able to see your time clock in the status bar, because the clock that comes with the ROM is black, and so is the status bar background of this theme. If you want to fix this, I recoded the services.jar file which needs to be installed seperately. It doesnt take long at all. The file, and instructions, can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=912223 ---- THIS FILE CAN ONLY BE USED WITH AXURA JL5!!!!
---------------------------------------------
LauncherPro Dock: This is a cool dock i found through Google search. I did not create this, credit goes to Google search
To apply this dock:
1.Save image to desired location on sdcard.
2. Go LP settings>Appearance Settings>Dock Background>Custom
3. Locate saved image on Sdcard, and select to apply

Edit: Haha and as soon as I install it, I return to the thread and see a new version. I will update it now
EDIT 2:
I don't know if I am allowed to bump, so I chose to just do a second edit.
With version 1.1, this theme is nice. I have no complaints and it fits pretty well with the general feel of my phone so far. I will note that I am using a lower screen density (220) instead of the normal (240), but even with that change I have no issues. The theme looks as intended. Once you fix the Notification pull down title colors, this theme should be perfect
I do have one gripe though. Maybe it is just something that will only bother me. I don't like that it says 3G instead of H+ when it was showing H+ on kennethpenn's beta 4.5 before. If you could make it say either 4G or H+ (assuming that I am actually getting 4G/H+), I would be quite pleased.
I can change it to an H icon in the next update.
I'm also changing more of the Moto blue images.
Should have an update up tonite.
Nice

The upcoming changes sound nice, I will be sure to get the next update. Once the notification section headers are fixed, this theme will be AWESOME. Any chance of you doing alternate color schemes or is this more of something you wanted personally?
EDIT: Noticed one thing that you missed. At first, I thought it was just related to the keyboard. But if you move the cursor during text input, the arrow that pops up to easily drag the cursor has a blue outline.

Don't think so, I'm hoping somebody releases a full AOSP rom and not just a themed MotoBlur. Theming Moto's setup is a real pain.
Looks wonderful. Glad to have this theme, thank you.
I am hoping for an AOSP ROM as well (Heck, I'm sure just about everyone is) but I find it a little disappointing that you don't intend on doing other color schemes. Not a big deal though, this is great!

Was holding off on running gb for my daily rom just for your theme. Looks great!
I wish I had a GO SMS theme to match this. If anyone would be willing to make one, it would be AMAZING. This is my first time trying to completely theme out my Android and all of the GoSMS themes are either too colorful to go well with this or have a grey title bar instead of black (see "dark theme")
or if anyone knows of a way to just change those bars, that would be more than adequate

UPDATE 8/27/2011:
Newest update with flashable zip is here!!
To get best results, apply this over the Eclipse rom. This will not work on Froyo.
Got tried of the Gingerbread look, I kinda missed a little blur. My biggest pet peve about our devices is that honestly, they are better with light colors because of the display. We don't have an LED display so black is worthless. The darker the themes are, the brighter the screen needs to be for us to see them. (Think of a white screen vs. black screen - white illuminates better.)
I do enjoy a little bit of black though. That being said. Here is my first theme for our Droid x2. This is a metamorph (extremely easy to apply). Still a work in progress, and there are a lot of things that still need to be done. Let me know if you find any bugs or want to suggest something. I'm no photoshop artist, I usually just recolor icons and and add pieces. But nonetheless, it's a good start for a theme.
Instructions:
Unzip and place directory in /SDCARD/AndroidThemes/
Make sure you are rooted and have Metamorph installed
There is a problem with Metamorph, or rather, how Android works. Statusbar is going to force close, keep tapping Force Close, a dialog about framework-apk will appear behind the Force Close dialog asking you to Continue or Cancel. YOU GOTTA BE QUICK!! Tap force close and immediately tap Continue. Like I said, you gotta be quick! Ninja quick!

Cool i was starting to feel the same way lol
I've downloaded the theme & tried flashing it, but when it gets to installing zip, it gets stuck there and just freezes. I've tried twice and still no dice....and I am running the gb eclipse 2.2 rom. Not sure what im doing wrong... any help would greatly be appreciated
There is an app in the marketplace called metamorph which can apply themes to rooted phones. I think you need it to flash this.

Thanks will deff. try this out, I don't have Eclipse rom, waiting for the next big update for that.
Ok am currently trying, using metamorph. It's currently not working at all, with FC's. Would be much easier if it was a flash because this looks great.

I got the same problem you did...multiple fc when I applied it so I had to pull the battery. Started my phone again and now I do have the theme on my phone now but I still have the green battery from the eclipse rom. But everything else is blue....
if you let the notification bar force close it will finish the installation and ask you to reboot and when you reboot your all themed

Yeah. Metamorph is a bit fickle. But what I do is just keep pressing force close. There are two apks it's patching. It should ask you to press continue on framework-apk (that's where the battery icons are). Just keep pressing force close and the continue, it'll work. You gotta be quick though. This is a problem with Metamorph, unfortunately. I'll work on a flashable zip tomorrow. It's past midnight here. I'm tired. lol.
Edit: Check the OP for updated installation instructions. Thanks guys!
Love it! Thanks.

What weather widget is that in the screen shot?
Hey so just wondering if anyone's LED light is acting funny. When my display is on the green LED stays on when I put my phone to sleep it goes dim. Anyone know a fix or should I just restore my backup?

I noticed icons in the notification bar stay their when you quit/leave and act like a "ghost" until you change screens.

I have noticed the same. Its very light and goes away after a couple seconds. I've never seen ghosting like that before, and I'm not too concerned.
Any updates coming to this?
