[THEME][METAMORPH] The Way Blur Should Have Been v0.88 - Motorola Droid X2

UPDATE 8/27/2011:
Newest update with flashable zip is here!!
To get best results, apply this over the Eclipse rom. This will not work on Froyo.
Got tried of the Gingerbread look, I kinda missed a little blur. My biggest pet peve about our devices is that honestly, they are better with light colors because of the display. We don't have an LED display so black is worthless. The darker the themes are, the brighter the screen needs to be for us to see them. (Think of a white screen vs. black screen - white illuminates better.)
I do enjoy a little bit of black though. That being said. Here is my first theme for our Droid x2. This is a metamorph (extremely easy to apply). Still a work in progress, and there are a lot of things that still need to be done. Let me know if you find any bugs or want to suggest something. I'm no photoshop artist, I usually just recolor icons and and add pieces. But nonetheless, it's a good start for a theme.
Instructions:
Unzip and place directory in /SDCARD/AndroidThemes/
Make sure you are rooted and have Metamorph installed
There is a problem with Metamorph, or rather, how Android works. Statusbar is going to force close, keep tapping Force Close, a dialog about framework-apk will appear behind the Force Close dialog asking you to Continue or Cancel. YOU GOTTA BE QUICK!! Tap force close and immediately tap Continue. Like I said, you gotta be quick! Ninja quick!

If you want to know how I changed the ERI Banner from "Verizon Wireless" to my name, head over to my tutorial I posted!

Cool i was starting to feel the same way lol

I've downloaded the theme & tried flashing it, but when it gets to installing zip, it gets stuck there and just freezes. I've tried twice and still no dice....and I am running the gb eclipse 2.2 rom. Not sure what im doing wrong... any help would greatly be appreciated

There is an app in the marketplace called metamorph which can apply themes to rooted phones. I think you need it to flash this.
Sent from my DROID X2

Thanks will deff. try this out, I don't have Eclipse rom, waiting for the next big update for that.

Ok am currently trying, using metamorph. It's currently not working at all, with FC's. Would be much easier if it was a flash because this looks great.

I got the same problem you did...multiple fc when I applied it so I had to pull the battery. Started my phone again and now I do have the theme on my phone now but I still have the green battery from the eclipse rom. But everything else is blue....

if you let the notification bar force close it will finish the installation and ask you to reboot and when you reboot your all themed

Yeah. Metamorph is a bit fickle. But what I do is just keep pressing force close. There are two apks it's patching. It should ask you to press continue on framework-apk (that's where the battery icons are). Just keep pressing force close and the continue, it'll work. You gotta be quick though. This is a problem with Metamorph, unfortunately. I'll work on a flashable zip tomorrow. It's past midnight here. I'm tired. lol.
Edit: Check the OP for updated installation instructions. Thanks guys!

Love it! Thanks.

What weather widget is that in the screen shot?

Hey so just wondering if anyone's LED light is acting funny. When my display is on the green LED stays on when I put my phone to sleep it goes dim. Anyone know a fix or should I just restore my backup?

I have noticed the same. Its very light and goes away after a couple seconds. I've never seen ghosting like that before, and I'm not too concerned.

Any updates coming to this?

[MetaMorph Theme] - WHITE CARBON Notification Pull down -**10/23**

This is my own personally tweaked notification pull down kanged from some other themes and creations by me. I decided to share with anyone who cares, since there aren't a lot of morphs out there. I personally use the WhiteCarbon with Bionix Fusion 1.1 w/JAC OC/UV/Voodoo with no problems.
Description
This theme gives your notification bar and pull-down notification menu a clean white/black look. It comes without any "status bar" notification icons so you can keep the same icons you have already been using.
JI6 Compatible ****Use with JI6 Firmware ONLY****
Big thanks to Mr_Tricorder and Eugene373 for the JI6 xml layout edits
WhiteCarbon v1.0 download here
This is a MetaMorph theme, so you will need to install MetaMorph from the Market and use it to apply this theme.

MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP BEFORE APPLYING THIS THEME!
I am not responsible for any issues this theme causes. It works perfectly fine on my Vibrant, but no two phones are alike so your experience may differ.
Feel free modify or incorporate this theme in part or whole in your own projects. Most images were compiled from other themes to fit my taste, some were created by me.
Instructions:
Make sure you have USB Debugging enabled. Having it off causes NinjaMorph and MetaMorph to hang for long periods of time with the "applying" message that some of you may be experiencing.
1. Download attached zip, and place it on your SD card.
2. Go into Rom Manager and reboot into Clockwork Recovery.
3. Do a Nandroid backup just in case (I have thoroughly tested this and never had problems)
4. Reboot - once up and running open Metamorph (install from market)
5. Select "unzip/extract new theme"
6. Select "twframework-res.apk" first - click "Apply it!"
7. Select "framework-res.apk" last - click "Apply it!" (may force close, it's ok)
8. After it is finished, reboot.
9. Done, Enjoy.
Big Thanks to:
frostman89 - I found his theme compilation in the Fascinate forums
Mr_Tricorder - For his awesome AllBlack morph
Stericson - obviously for MetaMorph
Sombionix - everything
Eugene373 - everything
WesGarner - everything (and hopefully CM6)
Cyanogen - everything

Will this work for Master's 1.1.4 Rom?
follwed instructions for install, had a ton of FC pop ups and couldnt get back to home screen. pulled battery out and now my phone just has a black screen with the buttons on the bottom lit up. tried restoring from the backup i did prior to installing the morph and same thing.... any help please!
btw running on stock j16 OTA update, rooted.
running the white version and truly liking it. Nice job. Might switch to black for battery saver tho. Is there any difference ?
thanks for this. For future reference how do you revert to your stock theme?
Since there are several roms out there I didn't include a revert. The options to go back would be to either restore your nandroid backup, flash a rom or find a morph or zip to go back to stock. Its pretty simple to create a morph for yourself, there is a sticky in this section by junkdruggler on how to do it. Hope that helped.

[MORPH] Blue Gloss V2 for NeroV3 [12/27/10]

I'm getting back into the theming game, and here's my first theme for the Vibrant. This is still in it's early stages, but will try to update it frequently. This theme is based off of the Touchwiz blue color scheme with some added "gloss" effects and other edits.
Instructions:
1) Open zip in Metamorph
2) Choose "Apply All" option.
3) Screen should go blank for a minute or two, then it'll reboot. If it does not, just hold the power button for 8 seconds to reboot it.
4) Open zip in Metamorph again.
5) This time apply just the subtheme "Phone.apk".
6) Metamorph will probably Force Close, just hold down the power button for 8 seconds to reboot.

ive tried to bring over the Dark Cherry theme from jaithemes, ive got most of it with a few other changes, for the most part all came from his site here ive always been a fan of his themes.and have also included some of his live wallpapers, its not as done as i hoped, but i know you guys are tired of waiting so im releasing it tonight. remember this isnt done yet. all of the menu icons within most of the apps show. as i/we fix and work things out there will be updates.
TO REMOVE THE LOCK SCREEN YOU CAN GO INTO ROOT EXPLORER
SYSTEM/APP AND MOUNT AS R/W AND RENAME HTCLOCKSCREEN.APK, WHAT I DID WAS JUST REMOVE THE .APK AT THE END SO IF I WANTED IT BACK ALL I HAVE TO DO IS GO BACK IN AND RENAME IT WITH .APK BACK ON THE END. THEN END AND REBOOT.
IF YOU FLASH THE GORILLA BUTTON YOU WILL LOSE THE THEMED ICON LAUNCHKEY IS STILL INCLUDED SO YOU CAN STILL REMAP IT

aosp or sense lockscreen is fine, just as long as its not blue.
also, which version of the thunderbolt are you planning to use, the original or the modded version found in the themes area? I tested both, and while I liked the modded one's animations better, it kept looping on me (not permanently, just looped the animation several times till it booted). I think it was something wrong with the framerate of the animation being off or something. anyway, just something I thought I might alert you to just in case.

Edit: Haha and as soon as I install it, I return to the thread and see a new version. I will update it now
EDIT 2:
I don't know if I am allowed to bump, so I chose to just do a second edit.
With version 1.1, this theme is nice. I have no complaints and it fits pretty well with the general feel of my phone so far. I will note that I am using a lower screen density (220) instead of the normal (240), but even with that change I have no issues. The theme looks as intended. Once you fix the Notification pull down title colors, this theme should be perfect
I do have one gripe though. Maybe it is just something that will only bother me. I don't like that it says 3G instead of H+ when it was showing H+ on kennethpenn's beta 4.5 before. If you could make it say either 4G or H+ (assuming that I am actually getting 4G/H+), I would be quite pleased.
I can change it to an H icon in the next update.
I'm also changing more of the Moto blue images.
Should have an update up tonite.
Nice

The upcoming changes sound nice, I will be sure to get the next update. Once the notification section headers are fixed, this theme will be AWESOME. Any chance of you doing alternate color schemes or is this more of something you wanted personally?
EDIT: Noticed one thing that you missed. At first, I thought it was just related to the keyboard. But if you move the cursor during text input, the arrow that pops up to easily drag the cursor has a blue outline.

Don't think so, I'm hoping somebody releases a full AOSP rom and not just a themed MotoBlur. Theming Moto's setup is a real pain.
Looks wonderful. Glad to have this theme, thank you.
I am hoping for an AOSP ROM as well (Heck, I'm sure just about everyone is) but I find it a little disappointing that you don't intend on doing other color schemes. Not a big deal though, this is great!

I wish I had a GO SMS theme to match this. If anyone would be willing to make one, it would be AMAZING. This is my first time trying to completely theme out my Android and all of the GoSMS themes are either too colorful to go well with this or have a grey title bar instead of black (see "dark theme")
or if anyone knows of a way to just change those bars, that would be more than adequate

Are you on OTA or Kens Beta? OTA is not deodexed. It sounds to me like you're not deodexed.

Hey everyone, this is my first theme. I hope you guys enjoy it! I'd like to thank qbking77, sockmonkey, jfdebo, Nottach, bearw815 and MedicStuder for all the help. I'm trying to update some things right now, icons, some small things like that stupid purple-grey header in the contacts picture...Does anyone want to be a ginuea pig and try it out for me? BTW, if you cause any damage to your phone, or if it becomes a paperweight, I am in no way responsible! MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP FIRST!!!
- DOWNLOAD to your SDcard
- Might need to wipe cache/dalvik before flashing (not sure)
- Flash in recovery (not sure if bootstrap or cwm works better)
- Enjoy!
- BTW, I'm running Go Launcher EX...So sorry if your dock doesn't look like mine.
I totally date myself (sigh)...for those of you who play(ed) Magic: The Gathering will know the theme's name..
Reserved by KTT16 (that's me)
Could someone please test this using Bootstrap?
Yes, I'd love to know if things aren't working properly..if someone could please flash this theme, I'd really appreciate the help! I just want to make a good theme for you guys out there!
Best,
K

Sure, but you owe me one, (only because I am running stock rom, not rooted, non of my apps installed. all because I need a replacement phone and sbf'd this phone, and did a factory reset,)
Otherwise, if I was running everything normally, I wouldn't have an issue at all, but because of my current circumstances, this is a slight hassle for me, but I will do it for you.
Thanks for understanding.
EDIT: This is going to take me a while, as I have other things to do for my family, but it will be done before 10pm EST. I'll try my best.
Yo..if it's too much of a hassle, don't worry about it...but I really appreciate the help.

No worries. You just owe me a very small favor, which is helping me out a bit when I attempt my first theme. You are a friend anyways, I guess it's not really fair to owe your friend anything, but I'll remember you when I do my theme, is that okay with you?
BETA KTT16 BLACK AND BLUE Theme Beta Tester Findings.
I am Beta Tester 1, and below are my findings.
The Positive:
- VERY, VERY, VERY Responsive
- Love the Transition Animation
- Nice Style
The Negative:
- I don't like the status bar, can you make a black to grey gradient for it?
- I only get the status bar battery icon in 10% increments.
Tips:
- You should make two themes, one with your transition animation, and one with the stock transition animation.
Other than that, it is an awesome theme. I will be sure to port it on my new Photon when I get it.
Now I have to 'SBF it, do a factory reset. I love your theme.

Thanks for testing it out! Of course I'll help you with themeing..that's what we're here for right? Keep updated with the "HOW TO" thread as well..I'll update it as soon as I can!
1) Which transition animation are you talking about vs. stock?
2) When you talk about the status bar, do you mean drop down notifcation? or the bar itself? Black to grey? Can you be just a little more specific?
Thanks,
K

The Top Status Bar, at the top of the phone. Can you make a gradient Status Bar from black to grey. I am also talking about all of the transition animations.
Well I decided to flash back to a stock ROM to update my prl so I flashed your theme, it looks and runs great. More black and blue the better for me.
Keep up the good work.
Now back to cm7, getting withdrawals.
Looks sick man. Great job.

Hmm...what do you see when you go from screen to screen? Does the screen "Flip"? If so, it was a Go Launcher animation. Also, i think you mentioned not seeing all the battery icons...that's probably because you might not have run the 1% battery mod from Rangerbry in joker's skinny ROM which I'm running.

No it does not, KTT16.
I was just accepted into the Android Creative Syndicate, and I will post a video on YouTube honoring you and your theme. I'll post the link when I get it uploaded.
