Music apk from CM6 - myTouch 4G Themes and Apps

I see people posting various CM6 versions of apps they hate in our ROM, and one that bugs me more than any other is the music app. Attached is the music app from CM6, if anyone wants it. I like it much better, and you might as well.
Of course, have to be rooted.

Just to let you know the app is actually on the market its called "Music Mod"

[REQ] Desktop Visualizer

I'm unable to find Desktop Visualizer on the market. I'm not sure if there's an error with the market since applying the UVJI6 update, or if it was taken off of the market, but I can't find it.
Could someone possibly link the APK for it on here? It's free, so I assume that's kosher on these forums. Hopefully this helps anyone else that's been looking as well.
Thanks!
Yeah I'm having the same problem, ive tried looking for it everywhere but its not working can somebody please post the apk if possible...

Thanks for posting apk.But for some reason I can only choose large, medium, and small widgetzand theres.no option for 4x1,1x2,etc.Also I can comfirm this app is not visible in my market either.either its been removed or theres an issue with JI6.
U have to edit the system.build.prop (or something like that)... just search for "market missing apps."

You can still do the icons just fine -- just use the small/medium/large options and resize the widget - I'm not having any distortion problems with this method. I think this is just an older version of the app or something.

[Q] Music Beta not compatible?

I don't get the music beta app in the market. When I try to download it online it tells me my eris is not compatible. Is this a hardware thing? Will it never become available? Same issue with the Netflix app.

There are a couple of apk's floating around that will install on the Eris of each of those apps. I've tried out the Music app and it worked fine for me until you put it into landscape mode and try to do something. Then it would force close. The Netflix app installed with no problem, however, for it to work on the Eris it seems you have to modify the build prop to make your phone look like a Nexus and even then I'm not sure it will work properly. The netflix app alone with no data and not signing in is 26.1 MB in size installed on the phone... That's a big app... More than double the size of maps.
This kind of thing happens when an app is not officially "supported" on our phones, like if you searched for Flash player 10.3. But if you get the .apk, there is always that slight chance that is may work [And here's a link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1072655]
OK, here's how nube I am. What do I do with an apk? Do I need something like root manager to open and install it?

[Q] ERROR with QuickPic app in my ROM

Well, the Gallery3D is not entirely to my liking, so I include QuickPic in my ROM, but when trying to enter it gives me an error, saying "You should install the application from the market".
My question is, there is NO way to write QuickPic in ROM and install from the start as application, customers of the system?

As developers become better at development they will choose to have their application downloaded from the market. You could install it to /data/app possibly. I am guessing that written into the app is something that prevents you from doing what you are doing. Honestly market apps should stay in the market place. Its easy enough to download your own gallery and remove the current one. Or don't include the market app and write another application of suggested apps from the market for your rom. This way the app developers get their downloads and your users get their applications.

Fixed: It's just a matter of putting the library needed to works in the gallery path /system/lib and voila, it works perfect.

Sure, but now that Dev has one less download. These starts are important to android. When talking about wanting bigger and better applications they go by downloads sir. The more people downloading apps, the more developers see that there is a market for android. If not, they will continue to push to apple/ios first. I will always suggest to not doing this.

Hey man, relax. I am an apprentice chef, eager to learn, my ROM probably will not have a major departure, in fact I will post only on my personal website where apparently the only user with HTC Desire me, so I do not think it gets a lot discharges that might disturb the statistics of a developer.

Not the point. Ethics.
As long as you put the app in /data/app you can get updates from the market. However usually if it's just in /system/app you wont be able to update it.
Ohh, great. I unknow this. Thanks.

Yes, you can get updates. But that doesn't count toward the total download count.

[Q] CyanogenMod 10 lacks app permissions management

I read that CM10 does not have the feature that made CM7 really stand above all other roms. App permissions management. If this is true, I'd like to know why such a terrific feature was not brought over to the newer versions. I really liked that I could take away the ability for apps to "automatically start at boot."
Is there something built in to ICS / JB that negates the need for this feature to be in CyanogenMod?
Thanks in advance to anyone who can shed light on this.
Bump
After 95 views 0 replies I'm giving my thread a bump to the top.
It was never really stable in the first place, and caused FCs.
However, there are root apps that allow permissions management anyways, so if youu really want that feature just download one of those suckers

Thanks for the reply. It's a shame they took it out, even if it made some apps unstable. I'll look in the play store for something similar.

It was perfectly stable. The apps that FCed were just horribly programmed. Actually, what are Exceptions for ?

Somebody on the CM-Forum claimed to know that Google forced CM to drop permission management, otherwise they would have closed GooglePlay for CM devices.
There are 2 apps you could try ( look em up in the forum):
-LBE privacy guard
-Pdroid
I used Pdroid for quite some time and I quite liked it, because it spoofes app permissions. so no more FCs.
However, Pdroid corrupted my contacts and calendar while syncing with SyncMate. So I don't use it anymore.

If that is true, it's a real shame. I didn't know google used strong-arm tactics like that.
Finally!!
It's been over a year since I posted this question and it looks like I'm getting my wish.

Anybody able to get Google Sound Search installed

I've tried installing both the regular and transparent versions, and neither one will install. Anybody else run into this?
Anyone?

Are you talking about the "What's this song?" widget? If so, I just downloaded from the market place and it works fine. If you are talking about the Google search bar, it works just fine on Nova Launcher, worked as a widget on Sense, too...

Weird, it's not in my apps list anymore, nor can I find it on Google Play anymore, but it is still working on my phone perfectly...
Android Police has it.

It force closes the app. I think we need the APK for it to function.
