Oh sorry, my bad. I didn't know that.

The biggest problem with most calendar apps is that they tie to your Google account on the device. Of course, nobody has been able to get Google sign-ins fully working on the NC. I would imagine once they get that figured out, the stock calendar and many 3rd party calendars will work.

Calendar app is sync 'd to my google account - it did it automatically after youtube and gmail were setup. I was looking for a better calendar app. Jorte is free and works great!

How to Sync Calendar
Easy - just go to your Gmail account setup. You will see a box for "Add New Account". Just add your GMail account again - YES, do this. You will then see a screen for syncing stuff - on it will be an option for syncing "Calendar" - check this.
Now you can sync Google Calendar on your PC with that on the Nook Color!
There's also a PC App for syncing your Google Calendar (on PC) with your Outlook Calendar.

I've been using a combination of [paid] "Puregrid Calendar" Widget and [free] "Synker" to keep my Gmail calendar sync'd with the Nook Color. It has a nice full month calendar widget on the home screen that I really like.
I wasn't aware there was any reliable to way to sync the Gmail calendar with the device, so I'll have to give the mentioned method a shot and see if I can maybe get rid of Synker (although I like being able to sync on demand with a device that isn't connected to the Internet 24/7).

SWEET
@Docfreed - thanks - I've been trying to figure this out for days!

Try Smooth Calendar in the Market.

Doc's fix worked. Thanks.

I use Calendar Pad. It has a couple widget sizes and modes... day, week, and month.
Cheers,
Rich

Me too! Thanks.

@Docfreed, Are you re-adding your gmail account in the gmail app? I get a pop-up:"Sync for this item is currently disabled. To change your preference, temporarily turn on background data and automatic sync" when I try and add my account again.
Meanwhile, synker seems to do the trick.

I had the same problem, got synker working as well but would love to not have to use it.

I tried going to gmail and adding account but got the same message as ehrune. Any help would be appreciated.

I am such a dork... can't remember anything anymore. I found another thread with a solution and I also found a semi solution that I actually posted myself. Geesh!
I posted this in December and didn't remember:
"My calendar wasn't working. I went to Calendar - menu - more - my calendar
Then I removed my calendar, added it back and voila! It populated."
A more permanent solution is in this thread:

Calendar app that does it all!

Trying "Business Calendar Beta & it doesn't do what I need. Specifically, it will not let me edit a single entry of a recurring event, nor can I move the same.
The calendar that has "10" on the icon has an artifact at the top of every screen. It looks like a text box, but does nothing except get in the way.
Jorte is limited, but looks OK & does most things, but will not color in the day of the event.
What I need:
Ability to add recurring events.
Ability to edit or move individual recurring events.
Highlight a day that has an event. (Color choice)
Be nice if event title had a history to choose from.
Most of these features are standard in Outlook Calendar, so I would hope they are not too much to ask for.
Anyone have other calendars for me to try?
Thanks,
kev
Can you confirm that the Gmail calendar does everything you need it to do, and then just grab a Widget to give you a better view of the calendar?

I am currently trying Jorte for the calendar that displays on the desktop & when I select it, it uses Google Calendar. Took me a bit to understand what was happening, but I think I have something I can use.
Thanks.

Jorte was going to be my suggestion as well. Best calendar app I've found so far.
My vote goes to jorte

I personally REALLY like Touch Calendar. Boost up the zoom level and the font size and it looks great on the Nook Color. However, it's basically just a really nice overview, it still uses the built-in calendar app to add, edit, view the specific event etc..
2 thumbs up for Jorte also!
I'm not having any luck getting Jorte to sync with my Google Calendar. I've checked and re-checked the settings which seemed to be defined correctly but it won't sync. If I manually select an import from Google it shows "import complete" immediately but the data doesn't populate. Is anyone else using this successfully?

Well no, now that I look at it the regular calendar isn't syncing either. Not sure what broke that but I've spent the past 45 mins or so trying to figure it out without any luck. I'll look at it again a bit later.

You need to re-sync your calendar. I had the same problem. Trying to find the exact fix right now. Sit tight.
Sorry for the wait. I'm at work and got called away to deal with something.
Here you go. Credit where credit is due; give doc the props.
Now, I do have a question of my own about Jorte. I find the text quite blurry, at least on the 2x4 weekly calendar. I see that you can replace it with a font of your choosing. Will this fix the fuzzy text, or is that a symptom of it being used to a smaller screen? If that wont fix it, does anyone know of something that will?
Secondly, (and this is not very important) is there a way to add "padding" to the edge of the widget? I want it to reside in the top left of my screen, but it clings directly to the side of my screen if I do this with 0 pixles between the edge of the calendar and the edge of the screen. It's no big deal but I'd prefer a bit of padding to keep it consistent with the rest of my screen's layout. Can I force it to move to the center of the widget space somehow, instead of being left justified? I can post a screencap if I am being unclear.
Are you re-adding your gmail account in the gmail app? I get a pop-up:"Sync for this item is currently disabled. To change your preference, temporarily turn on background data and automatic sync" when I try and add my account again.
Also, I set the widget and line transparency to "not transparent" in the Jorte 5x5 widget, and the font size to "Large", and that cleaned up most of the fuzziness.

Google Calendar

Any chance of getting google calendar loaded and working on manual nootered 1.2?
Any other apps that will sync?
Thanks.
Both Calengoo and Business Calendar sync nicely. Bus. Cal. was Amazon's free app a couple of days ago - I like it for its Widgets.

From 1.2 Nook Color
Business calendar free shows no calendars to select. Don't want to spend the money to see if calengoo works.
Anyone have calengoo working on nootered 1.2?
You need to have gapPS installed or you winner have the calendar sync file
From 1.2 Nook Color
So excuse me if this is a lame question but is the gapPS file safe to load on a ManualNooter NC with 1.2.0?
I posted this the other day in the "General" forum,
"I did do a search for this issue and there are other folks having this issue in the Development Forum, but I can't post on that forum. Used ManualNooter 4.4.27 for 1.2.0 (worked great by the way! Thanks). I can not figure out how to get my google calendar to sync. I have tried the "add account" again procedure, didn't work. Won't accept a dup. account (never had that popup before). I have tried deleting my gmail acct in the new NC stock email app. and that didn't help. Went in to Nook Color Tools, to Manage Apps and cleared defaults and data, didn't help. Anyone have any idea? Oh yeah when I go to gmail, accounts, account settings and click settings for gmail, under Data & synchronization, syn calendar is not listed. Thanks!"
I haven't gotten a fix for this problem yet. If anyone can help I'd appreciate it.
I found my solution using:

GalenGoo works great
Just loaded it onto our nookcolor. Great improvement over Jorte.
For more info go to calengoo.dgunia.de/Start.html (It's for the iPhone version but is the same on Android).

No, you must manually copy or push the individual files over to the system /app folder.
From 1.2 Nook Color
Do you know where I can get the needed files?
Also Calengoo works, thanks, but I'd like to see my google calendar sync working as usual through the system software.
Thanks, CalenGoo works, seems to be a good app.

Calendars not syncing

Problem:
I have 3 calendars in my google calendar.
3 groups.
They are perfectly synced on my Z.
Z2 syncs the main Gmail one, the other subgroups are NOT synced.
How to force it to sync?

I know it may be stating the obvious but im assuming you have the other calendars all ticked. i.e open calendar app, tap top left to display year, month, week etc and at the bottom you'll see the calendars its showing (you can also pick their colour to differentiate)

Of course. The problem is THEY ARE NOT THERE.
The only one visible is default gmail.com one.
The other two are NOT there, although they are on Gmail and on my Xperia Z as well.
Maybe you can say which calendar(s) make you problem?

I'm sure its a kitkat related problem as your Xperia Z would be running JB not 4.4.2.
Have you tried clearing the calendar caches. i.e. from managing apps, finding calendar and clearning the data cache and then attempting a re sync?
If that doesnt work, it may be the stock calendar. Then try google calendar from the play store to try to pinpoint what is causing it. i.e. calendar on the phone, kitkat etc
I had the same problem. 1 of my calendar was not appearing. I solved it by removing my account from the accounts settings and adding it back. Then all my calendar appeared in stock calendar app.

My gmail calendar has 3 groups/subgroups whatever you call it.
Only one syncs. The other ones do not.
How to remove the account?
Google account?
Settings-tap on Google (in section Accounts),tap on email adress, in sync page tap on 3 dots, choose delete account.
NO SUCCESS.
After removing and resyncing the Google account I still see only default calendar.
What a crap!

Have you cleared the calendar app cache and data via managing apps.
Also tried Google calendar from the play store?
This will atleast start eliminating what the culprit could be.
It may be the calendar app itself for some reason.

z2 google calendars not displaying
Just wanted to say I removed and re-added the google account and then finally showed all the calendars that I linked to my account.
One thing I've noticed that I'm sure wasn't an issue before is that it only syncs about 1yr back not All events. Via google calendar from a PC events years ago are there but not on my phone. Just can't find any options to sync everything

Calendar app doesn't sync

I just found the calendar app, which is created by the core developer team. When I choose to add my Google calendar, it shows the names of my calendars, but it doesn't sync them.
In the comments someone mentioned, that the app can only sync the first calendar, but that didn't worked for me, either. Has anyone the same problem?
I'm not syncing my calendar so I can't tell.
However, you can have a look at the existing calendar-app bugs related to syncing here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-calendar-app?field.searchtext=sync
Maybe looking at them will help you. Otherwise, please file a new bug report.
You can log in with the Ubuntu One account you use on your phone.
Thanks for the reply. By reading the bug reports I get aware, that for adding a calender you have to select it and than select it under account settings, too. I thought just selecting it in the calandar app would be enough, so it was just me beeing too stupid to add my google calendar.

is anyone having problems linking their calenders with the m20p???

i got my m20p on thanksgiving eve, been playing with it. It just came to me that my calendar from google is not showing up in the calendar app, where i had no problems with the m9, and m10p. can someone please help me with that??? i did try adding an account to the calendar app, but its saying the account is already being used.
thanks
I gave up with the stock app as it kept complaining about needing internet connectivity & other annoyances while using it, so I've downloaded Google's own Calendar app from the Play Store & removed the built in one. The only issue with this is that when pressing the Date in the notification menu, it doesn't go through to the calendar app (they've hardcoded it to launch com.android.calendar), but that's only a minor complaint really...
