Google Calendar - Nook Color Themes and Apps

Any chance of getting google calendar loaded and working on manual nootered 1.2?
Any other apps that will sync?
Thanks.

Both Calengoo and Business Calendar sync nicely. Bus. Cal. was Amazon's free app a couple of days ago - I like it for its Widgets.

Business calendar free shows no calendars to select. Don't want to spend the money to see if calengoo works.
Anyone have calengoo working on nootered 1.2?

You need to have gapPS installed or you winner have the calendar sync file
From 1.2 Nook Color

So excuse me if this is a lame question but is the gapPS file safe to load on a ManualNooter NC with 1.2.0?
I posted this the other day in the "General" forum,
"I did do a search for this issue and there are other folks having this issue in the Development Forum, but I can't post on that forum. Used ManualNooter 4.4.27 for 1.2.0 (worked great by the way! Thanks). I can not figure out how to get my google calendar to sync. I have tried the "add account" again procedure, didn't work. Won't accept a dup. account (never had that popup before). I have tried deleting my gmail acct in the new NC stock email app. and that didn't help. Went in to Nook Color Tools, to Manage Apps and cleared defaults and data, didn't help. Anyone have any idea? Oh yeah when I go to gmail, accounts, account settings and click settings for gmail, under Data & synchronization, syn calendar is not listed. Thanks!"
I haven't gotten a fix for this problem yet. If anyone can help I'd appreciate it.

I found my solution using:

GalenGoo works great
Just loaded it onto our nookcolor. Great improvement over Jorte.
For more info go to calengoo.dgunia.de/Start.html (It's for the iPhone version but is the same on Android).

No, you must manually copy or push the individual files over to the system /app folder.
From 1.2 Nook Color

Do you know where I can get the needed files?
Also Calengoo works, thanks, but I'd like to see my google calendar sync working as usual through the system software.

Thanks, CalenGoo works, seems to be a good app.

Oh sorry, my bad. I didn't know that.
The biggest problem with most calendar apps is that they tie to your Google account on the device. Of course, nobody has been able to get Google sign-ins fully working on the NC. I would imagine once they get that figured out, the stock calendar and many 3rd party calendars will work.

Calendar app is sync 'd to my google account - it did it automatically after youtube and gmail were setup. I was looking for a better calendar app. Jorte is free and works great!

How to Sync Calendar
Easy - just go to your Gmail account setup. You will see a box for "Add New Account". Just add your GMail account again - YES, do this. You will then see a screen for syncing stuff - on it will be an option for syncing "Calendar" - check this.
Now you can sync Google Calendar on your PC with that on the Nook Color!
There's also a PC App for syncing your Google Calendar (on PC) with your Outlook Calendar.
I've been using a combination of [paid] "Puregrid Calendar" Widget and [free] "Synker" to keep my Gmail calendar sync'd with the Nook Color. It has a nice full month calendar widget on the home screen that I really like.
I wasn't aware there was any reliable to way to sync the Gmail calendar with the device, so I'll have to give the mentioned method a shot and see if I can maybe get rid of Synker (although I like being able to sync on demand with a device that isn't connected to the Internet 24/7).
SWEET
@Docfreed - thanks - I've been trying to figure this out for days!
Try Smooth Calendar in the Market.
Doc's fix worked. Thanks.
I use Calendar Pad. It has a couple widget sizes and modes... day, week, and month.
Cheers,
Rich

Me too! Thanks.
@Docfreed, Are you re-adding your gmail account in the gmail app? I get a pop-up:"Sync for this item is currently disabled. To change your preference, temporarily turn on background data and automatic sync" when I try and add my account again.
Meanwhile, synker seems to do the trick.

I had the same problem, got synker working as well but would love to not have to use it.
I tried going to gmail and adding account but got the same message as ehrune. Any help would be appreciated.
I am such a dork... can't remember anything anymore. I found another thread with a solution and I also found a semi solution that I actually posted myself. Geesh!
I posted this in December and didn't remember:
"My calendar wasn't working. I went to Calendar - menu - more - my calendar
Then I removed my calendar, added it back and voila! It populated."

[Q] How to Sync Tasks & Memo with Google?

Hey,
I have two issues and two questions regarding them......
1) I would like to sync the Tasks app. with Google however I do not see Google in the Sync Task profile only my Samsung account.
2) I'd like to sync the Memo app. with Google. It says that I'm not logged in to Google Docs however when I put both my email and password in the login tab does not light up, if I use a different email address it does.
As an added note I also declined a popup from Google about permissions to see what would happen. The window disappeared and nothing did happen!..... At least thats what I thought till now! Not sure how to undo that and suspect that's the problem!
I have also tried to remove my Google account, this only seems possible if you hard reset-which would have to be a last resort for me. I've also been on to my Gmail and Google docs setting via P.C. and am unable to find any setting there that would be affecting these issues.
Any Ideas on how to fix this?
I also have this problem and can not solve it.
I have google docs installed on my phone, but the e-mail address which is registered does not end with gmail.com but a different domain. I can use google docs without a problem but I can not login inside Memo to sync it with my google account.
Any ideas?

Is very good (I use it a lot)... But doesn't solve the sync of Memo... Any recommendations?
i use document to go for google doc... they work fantastic!
Since there's still no way to sync memo with google, i just use Simple Notepad. Color note sounds good too, it supports online back up and sync but haven't try it yet ...
Im using Mobisle Notes. Is very good, not perfect... But... the best u could find.
Any solution on this problem? I also would like to sync my task and memo with my google account. But when I hit the "Sync task" only Samsung Account is available for sync. When I hit the "Add Account", I can only add Exchange ActiveSync account".
I read in this forum and elsewhere, many have successfully sync their task with google task. I wonder is it really possible to sync stock task app with google task? Maybe it is the bug of my ROM. I am using stock ROM Gingerbread 2.3.3.
Use Google docs ore dropbox

Thanks for the information. But since the Tasks is already available for TouchWiz, I would rather use the built in Tasks app. I think the only way is to configure the Gmail Account as an Exchange ActiveSync account. There is a sample configuration for that in the Internet.
Sorry, you mean Task or Notes is on TouchWiz?
Also, can you post the "There is a sample configuration" you mention?
I would like to see it.
Thanks!

Notion Ink Email V1.5

-From Adam Firmware 1.5, software version 0.9-
So just tried the new Adam email client on my Nook running Honeycomb and it worked fine. A lot of the bugs from the first version have been sorted out - it now links to your contacts and seems to download files.
Just place the apk in your system//app directory
I will test out the other programs, but so far:
- the calendar seems to still force close when adding a new appointment.
Finally! Installs fine and runs on decent speed on CM7. This could be the email app I've been waiting for

Hey smiley,
Possibly my labling. This email is from Firmware for adam 1.5. They have updated the app, but the version still appears to be 0.9! You should see a massive improvement in its performance.

How do U install it guys?Dont U have system replace error?
Kind like the old icon better, is there a way to get the icon back. Updated from Phiremod 6.3.
It works for me. v0.9
Like dsf3g asked. Any ideas on how to set up Yahoo or Hotmail?
Also, how can you delete an account from the app, because i now get mail from both this and the Gmail app.
Don't want to uninstall the Gmail app but i just might have to.

Under the main Settings for the Nook, in Accounts & Sync, disable Gmail sync. That'll let you use this app instead of Gmail without having to uninstall anything.
Not sure how to remove an account from Mail'd though. Hope that helps.

Much better IMO. The Gmail app I find looks too cluttered, and because this has a metro layout it works and looks much better.
Awesome! This version seems much cleaner than the old version.
Why does it look the same to me concerning the look?

it consistently makes me fill out outgoing, SMTP info which... there is no smtp with exchange.

make the smtp server the same as the incoming server. At least that's what worked for me.

Calendar (growl)

I have 3/4 different calendars (I believe - Go Calendar Widget, Smooth Calendar, Calendar, CalendarProvider) installed yet if I try to use any of them I get "! No Calendars You have no Calendars". I'm not rooted, still at 1.40, Google Services Framework. At this point I don't have to have it sync with Google calendars though it would be nice, I would just like a working calendar. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Should've got gapps. You need calendar provider in gaps to sync with Google calendar.

Thanks again.
random, but is there any way to get calendar syncing on here without root?

[Q] Receiving "Sync is currently experiencing problems"

Hi guys,
I just noticed recently that my DNA is giving me this error under accounts and sync. It seems like this may be a wide spread issue for all types of Android phones, but I was wondering if anyone else was seeing this. The strange this is that it looks like everything is synced properly, and even when I drill down into the actual items that are syncing, there are no errors. I'm not sure if it is the rom that I am on (UKB), but I would really like to clear it up if possible. I have tried deleting the data in Apps for the various items listed, but this does not seem to help. I even booted into recovery and cleared the cache, to no avail.
Thanks guys,
Steve
Alright, I just did a full wipe, installed UKB 1.3 with Cubed stock kernel, and I am still getting that sync error. Is anyone else seeing this?
I have had this issue on CODIS, UKB and the battery plus ROM
It syncs everything fine, but it does show a red sync icon and say its experiencing problems. I've just learned to deal with it as everything still works fine.
--removing and re-adding my google account does nothing
--unchecking each option (calendar, contacts, gmail etc.) one by one to see if a particular causes the problem,...does nothing to help
Just wanted to letyou know you are not the only one with the issue.
I'm having the issue where the gmail app syncs fine but if I read/delete emails and go back to my computer, all the changes I did on my phone didn't sync with my computer browser. Anyone know how to fix that?

Ah, thanks for the replies guys. At least I'm not the only one . At least it's not in your face screaming at you, so I can learn to ignore it.
I'm having the sync issues myself, and I'm even on full stock ROM. Just wanted to let you know. My account is on two-step authentication - are other people also using two-step? Common denominator?

I believe that is the problem. I had an error in Google Internet sync. I fixed it by going to Google dashboard on my computer and clicking "Websites authorized to access the account." Go down to Application Specific Passwords.
Install the Google Authenticator on the DNA. Then register it by generating a new application specific 12 digit password. The Authenticator app will then generate the six digit codes you'll need when asked to be able to sync your bookmarks in the browser or sign in the Google search homepage. Anyway it worked for me.
For me it was Facebook calendar that couldn't sync. I unchecked it and the error went away. It looks like it can be any part of any of your accounts that will trigger that message. If you go into each one, it will show which one is having the problem.
