I had the same problem. I don't know if it works, but this worked for me. I connected my phone to the computer "tethering" acting as a modem, sent a picture while it's connected. It went through, unplugged it and it went through. I can also recieve. I don't know if it'll work for you but it did for me.
Let me know if it works!

Here is the MMS.apk from Team Whiskey's Nero Beta 3.
It works for me and it looks good.... same instructions as before, just move it to system/app and reboot.

If you guys need the stock messanger, just download a stock rom and extract it from system/app
MMS does not show up in the app drawer... your default Messanger should be there, no?
I had the same problem but then I switched to Macnut14. MMS works fine and with the new super kernel gps is spot on, my battery life is awesome, and my vibrant is snappier than ever.

The title says it all. I cannot get mms to work on Vanilla 2.2. Any Rom really. The only one it seems to work on is Stock 2.1. I've run various versions of KaosFroyo, Tazz Froyo, Nonsensikal, and the Sense Froyo Roms. None of them will work with mms on my phone for some reason.
I do however remember a while back that mms did work when I ran a version of KaosFroyo. Must have been something like v20 or somewhere around there. I've tried the methods of flashing and saving different apns and nothing works. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I dislike Sense. It's too laggy for me. Any help please?

Bad battery life is common especially if your flashing a lot if Roms ...try recalibrating your battery there's a forum that walks u through it. I feel your frustration I had no MMS when I upgraded to 2.2 (cricket network) but I tried a lot of stuff and finally figured it out ..I also had bad battery life but I figured out a work around by disabling 3G after every use. I basically read a lot of forums and experimented with different things to get MMS working.

I agree. Make a backup of your current ROM and then load up 2.1 again and make sure the settings are correct. After that do a fresh flash of Vanilla Tazz and then delete Telephony.db from /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/. Then delete the MMS.apk from /system/app and then try installing the attached Mms.apk and reboot your phone. Let me know if this works

Thats crazy. One more thing to try is deleting the mmssms.db and telephony.db but leave the stock mms.apk. Also make sure the build.prop has this ro.com.google.clientidbase=android-verizon-us
ro.com.google.locationfeatures=1
ro.cdma.home.operator.numeric=310012
ro.cdma.home.operator.alpha=Verizon
If that doesnt work than I have no idea whats wrong.

Ok ... for your MMS problem ... I was having issues with randomly being able to send/not send MMS/Email/Pic messages ....
I tried all the backup/restore/APN/options and was still having issues.
In the Telephony database, I had 2 bad rows of data, one of which semi replicated some of the pathways used for my MMS messages. I downloaded SQLite editor ( I think by Speed Software, same people that make Root explorer ).... I was able to manual delete the bad rows of data from the database. I did a new APN backup, and the bad rows were gone.
TADA!!
The SQLite editor is available on the market, and it costs like $3 or $4 ...

NOT SO FAST, MY FRIEND!!!
***
I need to correct myself ... after I deleted the row of data with the "unnamed" APN, nothing happened when sending MMS ....
***
I did a restore ... went back into the telephony.db :: "carriers" table and gave the APN a name ...
In my case, I had two rows of data referencing Verizon .... ( using the www.vtext.com address ) .... I left the regular one for Verizon, but the unnamed row I gave an alias and called it "VZW" ....
did a backup of the APNs, tested through multiple messaging apps, text, mms, picture, and reply to MMS, and all have worked without any problems.
I hope all this makes sense .... PM if you have any problems ( If you haven't already given up on the possibility of getting it working ) ...

Here's a way to fix MMS on DJ05 Clean .9. Clean comes with the AOSP messaging app, but I use handcent, neither of which would send. Today I deleted the AOSP mesaging app
-adb shell
# rm -r /system/app/Mms.apk
#exit
and then pushed the MMS app from deodexed stock DJ05. Here's the link - http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1185896/Fascinate/Mms.apk
Take this app and push it to the /system/app directory with ADB (I didn't try installing with root explorer, or ASTRO)
-Also, I'm sperman on the IRC, so PM me if you need help
-http://alltechdaily.com/2010/12/fixing-mms-on-clean-9/ <- Has my email, you can also comment (or check my forum soon )
I'm not even sure you need to delete the old Mms.apk as when i did this i just did
Adb push Mms.apk /system/app and it worked fine.
I use the stock Mms.apk on clean .9. I hate the bubbles, but like the direct unlock with the puzzle lock screen.
Are you talking MMS as in pictures? Or texting (SMS)
When using root explorer, I get a message saying there isn't enough room to paste the apk?

I am having the mms-only problem. I am using the 100% original JT super clean 0.9 rom with no extra SMS/MMS apps added or removed. My SMS works great, no duplicates or fails since updating to all the DJ05 stuff, but in-network MMS is completely broken. I tried applying the Mms.apk replacement and it doesn't seem to have worked. I am using the 1212_test kernel, I tried the stupidfast kernel but the battery life was terrible so I prefer this one.
edit: never mind about the touchwiz tray layout, got that figured out.

As the title says, here is a new mms.apk for you guys to use on the 2.2.1 roms that IS NOT blurry.
Just adb push it to system/app or use root explorer to move it there and overwrite - you can also rename your old one to mms.apk.bak in case you want to switch back later.

For those of you who prefer the stock ICS apps for contacts and phone. This will do until CM9 is fully working
Just copy to /system/app and change permissions using root explorer.
I'm currently running this on Flex's rom seems to work ok.
Notes:
Phone - Dialpad doesn't auto look up contacts when dialing
Contacts - Doesn't switch to high res HaxSync photos
I take no credit for these, thanks to paulobrien on his HTC One X rom:

There's another post here with one but it force closes.
Update on using the stock phone and contacts app.
Both work great! Have been using for a few days now. I removed the HTC Phone and Contacts apk's from /system/app.
Only thing that is happening which I find weird is whenever my phone comes up after a reboot, the stock contacts app opens up. Haven't been able to figure out why
I have noticed that once a phone call is started, it still uses the htc phone app even though I have removed it from system/app. Is there somewhere else I need to put the apk or some modding i need to do in the build.prop? These are minor issues but I would love to have these working perfectly. I'm surprised there isnt more people commenting in here and wanting these.
Bump to the top. I'm interested in learning how to mod apps and rom's so if anyone who has experience in this would like to help me work on these that would be awesome.
So you removed HTC phone apk, but it still opens?

Download the contacts zip in the link I posted in previous post and flash it through recovery. it will give you inverted stock contacts and dialer.
I saw this being requested so thought id help. Freeze or rename the tw browser with .bak. Then flash in recovery wipe cache/dalvik, and then reboot. Obviously, back up your stuff first.
Edit: You can add the browser to Multi-Window manually by going to /system/csc/feature.xml and edit the multi window settings to include com.android.browser. Listed below is how the end of mine appears, if you don't have the multi window string you can just add it before the end as I did.
<!-- Multi Window -->
<CscFeature_MultiWindow_AddOnApp>com.android.browser<CscFeature_MultiWindow_AddOnApp>
</FeatureSet>
</SamsungMobileFeature>
Flash content may not work if you don't have the latest version, you can find it here just download the latest version under 'Flash Player for Android 4.0 archives' and install

Using the option runs displays the search box and it works normally.

Yeah, I saw that, and a few other minor issues, want sure if it was just my install or not since ive probably installed and updated 5 different versions of the browser.

Does anyone know if there's a way to get the quick controls in Labs to be more responsive. It's as if the pixel activation width is set extremely thin. Could be due in part to our screens resolution I suppose and more pixels being in less space. Thanks for the mod, op.

I just got the java text readable but I havent had the chance to go through it yet because currently im frustrated with looking through the note 2, gs3, and gs4 keyboard. Its like Samsung keeps downgrading their keyboard. Anyways, Ill upload the latest browser build though to see if that might help.

Just letting you know you can have both the stock browser and this one. All you have to do is rename BrowserProxyprovider.apk to. Bak or delete them install this

Thanks, and yes you're absolutely right, sorry, I should probably have mentioned that in the OP. The reason I requested everyone rename/freeze the touchwiz browser was a precaution. If you look at the updater script it contains the following code within it:
"delete("/system/app/BrowserProviderProxy.apk");
unmount("/system");"
And if you look in the zip, you'll notice theres 3 system apps being pushed to /system/app
1. ChromeBookmarksSyncAdapter.apk
2. BrowserProviderProxy.apk.bak
3. Browser.apk
So the renaming part is already done, if anyone wants to re-enable the tw browser to use alongside of the Aosp Browser, the only steps required are either to unfreeze the tw browser or renaming the .bak back to .apk at the end of the file.

, yeah sorry I did not notice any of that because I never actually flashed you're zip. I just was browsing through the threads and thought I would chime in because I like to use the touchwiz browser strictly for downloading because I can download to the SD card I wasn't trying to sway anybody or anything like that. just a tip

Where is the setting in the TW browser to download to SD card?
NVM....found it in Content Settings - never noticed that before, glad you mentioned it!
Thanks for this. I can't get quick controls to work, however. Is there a way to add options to customize those?

I'm not a quick control user but maybe you can help me understand what you mean when you say it doesn't work, I just tried it and it seemed to work...

Okay, I took off my my TPU case and was able to get the quick control menus to pop-up, but it's still very difficult for me to trigger. Is there a way to build in an "activation zone" pixel # setting, like the AOKP browser has? Thanks!!

As an alternate option, I believe Quick ICS Browser in the market has that feature.
