[App] AOSP Browser 4.2.2 [7/22] for TW w/ Bookmark + Flash support - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

I saw this being requested so thought id help. Freeze or rename the tw browser with .bak. Then flash in recovery wipe cache/dalvik, and then reboot. Obviously, back up your stuff first.
Edit: You can add the browser to Multi-Window manually by going to /system/csc/feature.xml and edit the multi window settings to include com.android.browser. Listed below is how the end of mine appears, if you don't have the multi window string you can just add it before the end as I did.
<!-- Multi Window -->
<CscFeature_MultiWindow_AddOnApp>com.android.browser<CscFeature_MultiWindow_AddOnApp>
</FeatureSet>
</SamsungMobileFeature>
Flash content may not work if you don't have the latest version, you can find it here just download the latest version under 'Flash Player for Android 4.0 archives' and install

Finally someone has done it, great job man!!! Many thanks!

Thanks for the upload man! Is it possible you can do MMS phone and contacts too or no?
Edit: I see someone has already done MMS, all we need is the phone app now.

"finally a browser that supports flash player on the s4 with out using a third party one. Great work man I already flashed it works just fine"

On RLS6 as well, and it works great. Just selected as the default browser (didn't rename tw browser) and removed from the drawer, without issue/conflict so far. Love this option, great work!

Works great on stock rooted... Really awesome to have flash support once again
Just a small visual glitch I found. When I click the menu button while the app is running the option for searching on the page reads as "No SIM card in phone."
Using the option runs displays the search box and it works normally.

Yeah, I saw that, and a few other minor issues, want sure if it was just my install or not since ive probably installed and updated 5 different versions of the browser.

Does anyone know if there's a way to get the quick controls in Labs to be more responsive. It's as if the pixel activation width is set extremely thin. Could be due in part to our screens resolution I suppose and more pixels being in less space. Thanks for the mod, op.

I just got the java text readable but I havent had the chance to go through it yet because currently im frustrated with looking through the note 2, gs3, and gs4 keyboard. Its like Samsung keeps downgrading their keyboard. Anyways, Ill upload the latest browser build though to see if that might help.

Thanks, and yes you're absolutely right, sorry, I should probably have mentioned that in the OP. The reason I requested everyone rename/freeze the touchwiz browser was a precaution. If you look at the updater script it contains the following code within it:
"delete("/system/app/BrowserProviderProxy.apk");
unmount("/system");"
And if you look in the zip, you'll notice theres 3 system apps being pushed to /system/app
1. ChromeBookmarksSyncAdapter.apk
2. BrowserProviderProxy.apk.bak
3. Browser.apk
So the renaming part is already done, if anyone wants to re-enable the tw browser to use alongside of the Aosp Browser, the only steps required are either to unfreeze the tw browser or renaming the .bak back to .apk at the end of the file.

[APP] 2.2.1 MMS - Modded User Agent To Remove Blurriness [EDT]

As the title says, here is a new mms.apk for you guys to use on the 2.2.1 roms that IS NOT blurry.
Just adb push it to system/app or use root explorer to move it there and overwrite - you can also rename your old one to mms.apk.bak in case you want to switch back later.

DNA is Awesome BUT....

DNA is a beast phone but I don't know if it's part of Sense 4+ or VZW BS but there is no friendstream widget or 2x4 people which I use both a lot. Also I counted and there is 15 VZW bloat which is ridiculous.
No personalize button which I use along with no remapable capacitive buttons which was on it but they took it off for this version of sense. No sound enhancer settings on music app. Yep no flash player toggle on browser.
Not trying to *****, just letting you know about this if you didn't know already and hopefully root will happen and a rom with all this stuff will be added.

Getting the bubbles back is an easy fix. Using an app like Root Explorer, make your way into System, then the CSC folder. In here, you'll see customer.xml. Rename this file to customer.xml.bak, and restart. Voila, notification bubbles!

Is there maybe something lines that in Customer.xml to activate the bubble, but allow us to kill the instruction?
Just for the information, I'm running CleanROM 3.5, and I don't get the tutorial notifications. Might just be ROM specific. I don't know what lines in the actual .xml file trigger the notification bubbles, I just know that this method helps to get them back. Sorry, guys!

It is the existence of Customer.xml itself that hides the bubbles. You can delete the contents of the file and it still doesn't bring back the bubbles. There is probably a settings line that needs to be added to show them.

On a rooted Stock ROM you can freeze the Help 1.0 application inside of TitaniumBackup. After a reboot you will have to go through the three lock screen tips once more but then you should not see them again.

Getting the bubbles back is an easy fix. Using an app like Root Explorer, make your way into System, then the CSC folder. In here, you'll see customer.xml. Rename this file to customer.xml.bak, and restart. Voila, notification bubbles!

What bubbles what's this look like confirmed working and such?
So I went ahead and did this. I remember this from an older Samsung maybe my gs3 had it or my fascinate. I don't know maybe this used to have it but I like it. What does the use popup note selection do in the lock screen settings its been checked forever but I've never seen anything happen.

[Q] GE S4 rom by dubsy

Hey guys, so I got my S4 around July 4th and realized the same day I didn't like touchwiz. Got home, rooted and threw Dubbsy's rom on it.. I have been in love with the rom since I got it, never had an issue with gibberish provider name (except once) the lack of LTE bars didnt bother me because it still worked. The only major issue I ever had with it was my recent apps option stopped working. Well I just got the chance to update it to the newest build of the deoxed version and it has fixed the LTE bars and recent apps works again. It is fantastic and I really appreciate all the work you do! The ONLY issue I have is I only have 3 home screen pages. Is this a limitation of the rom, am i missing something simple??? I could use some help here and if it is a limitation of the rom, no big deal I can live with it until a newer version comes out

Dubbsy's ROM is nice and stock, with very few modifications.
If you want more home screens, I highly recommend simply throwing Nova Launcher on there. Grab it in the Market. It looks and performs 99% identically to the stock Nexus home screen, but adds a bit of customization. It's what I'm running on Dubbsy's and I've got no issues whatsoever.
If you still have a copy of one of the older versions of the ROM, pull launcher2.apk out of it's /system/app/ folder. I noticed the same thing and use 5 screens myself.
Once you pull the .apk replace the launcher2.apk in your current /system/app/ with it using a root enabled file manager under rw mode. Like the CM installed on the 4.9 edition or Root Explorer.
Once you've done that go ahead and reboot and you should be good.
At least, that's what I did.

Yea, it only changes the launcher. That's the only apk you would be replacing, and you wouldn't be using a third party substitute, it would be the genuine launcher since you would've pulled it from one of Dubbsy's older builds. I personally pulled it from 4.7.5 test since that's what I had on my sdcard at the time. Works fine.

Yea ive noticed that too, guess its the sacrifice for using the rom. oh well, no big deal.
GPS works fine for me.
I thought I only put the 3 page launcher in my odex version. I may have accidentally put it in the deo also. I'll fix that on next release if that's the case.

That's odd, I've never seen that issue before. I would say to do a fresh install and see if it continues. Im not able to reproduce the issue.

No issues with GPS here. Try and flash back to a stock based ROM, get a GPS lock and then flash back. It's an odd fix, but it seems to work for some.

Yea I had this issue on the last build, it was weird, it didnt work for weeks then randomly it started working fine, but would randomly freeze once in a blue moon.
The GPS also never got a lock on the last build, and i just double checked, it just sits there saying searching for GPS never gets an exact lock.
