[Q] archos registration problem - quick question - Gen8, Gen9, Gen10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I registered my device on archos.com website. When i go to sign in the archos settings to let it know that its been registered, i'm prompted to re enter the details i gave on the archos website (serial, date and location of purchase).
However, once this is complete there is an error stating that the serial number is already in use and there is no acknowledgement of the successful registration on the device...
When your devices are registered does the "online registration" option stay the same or does it say "device is registered" afterwards? This is what would i expect follwing my experience with gen7 so what I'm seeing here is confusing.
I did read that someone had had the same problem and that this was stopping their cinema plugin from installing but I think that they've sold their device out of frustration already... I would like to buy the cinema plugin but am concerned that it would not work as it seems that my archos is unnaware that it has been registered.
thanks for any answers
tl;dr
does you archos say "online registration" or "device is registered"

Can someone upload the software from Huawei for the unlock tool?

Every time I try to download the Huawei unlock tool from their website, it takes me to a Chinese website saying that the server is busy. I was wondering if someone has that software file floating around on their computer that they could upload on here so I can download it?

Don't bother with that unlock tool. I downloaded it and it didn't work on my PC at all. And I am not disabling my virus scanner for some 3rd party Chinese software. That burnt me in the past.
Instead get the bootloader unlock code from the official Huawei website. Follow my guide here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/ascend-mate2/general/guide-step-step-wind-mobile-canada-t3387490
1) Get boatloader unlock code. Its 16 characters and you must get it from Huawei. If you cannot get this code you can stop right here. Nothing online will help you and there is no way around it. Trust me, I tried.
Lucky for you Huawei make it very easy now and automated the process. Before you must email [email protected] and wait for them to reply. (from what I read.)
Now you can get it here:
https://community.gethuawei.com/developers/f/48/t/1048
Or direct link:
http://emui.huawei.com/en/plugin.php...amp;mod=detail
I logged in with my Facebook. But you can try to create and login with your Huawei ID.
After logging in, you need to give them these information to get the bootloader unlock code:
---Product Model: MT2L03
---Product Serial Number: From the box of your phone. Or you can open up your phone case and look at the sticker on the battery for it. It is 16 characters. (The Serial Number as recorded in your phone memory is only 12 characters. It is not valid here.
---IMEI: From the box of your phone. Or you can open up your phone case and look at the sticker on the battery for it. Or type *#06# on your phone pad.
---Product ID: Type *#*#1357946#*#* on your phone pad.
After you get this code, record it somewhere and keep it safe. Huawei will only give you this code a few times before they start to seriously questioning you (from what I heard). So once you get it, expect to never be able ask for it again.
(Rooting is unnecessary. But you must unlock your bootloader, which will be done in step 5 below. )

Thanks for the response. I was able to finally get their online unlock tool on Huawei website to load, but now it's giving me an error saying I need to double check the model number, but I have everything inputted correctly. ):

Double check to make sure all the numbers are correct. Refresh the verification code before entering and submitting. Once you hit submit, wait patiently and do not hit submit again. It is slow and takes a while.
If they are and it still doesn't work, maybe you need to email to Huawei after all.
It seem they are updating that system. When I did it a few days ago, they never asked about if the product is a Smartphone or a Tablet.
P.S. You should remove that image containing your phone's information. This is public space and you don't want people stealing that.

Thanks for all of your help. I'll wait until tomorrow to try it again. Hopefully it'll turn around and work eventually. I removed the picture, thanks for the heads up
Any luck bud?

Not sure how to get around this...

Long time since i've posted here but can't figure out a way around new Android security "feature"...
I gave my GF a Moto G 3rd gen for christmas. She really liked it but didn't complete the initial setup so never linked her gmail to the device.
She had a run in with her ex boyfriend who stole her phone and held it for ransom for a few weeks before giving it back. In that time though he had been using it with his own sim card and had setup his gmail on the device. He is gone from the country now and we know of no way to contact him. He had also put a number lock on the phone.
No problem, I thought, i'll just reset the device. So I did a reset and wiped all info.
Upon startup it says:
"Verifying your account"
"This Device was reset. To continue, sign in with a Google Account that was previously synced on the device"
This is not possible as the only Google account ever on the device was the ex boyfriend's and he's gone.
So I checked online and figured "Okay well I'll just re-flash the ROM"...
So I found the base ROM for the phone in Canada and successfully flash it using ADB fastboot.
Turns out that even with the cache and accounts on the device cleared the restart still has the same request.
So I thought. "Well Maybe I can load a custom ROM"...
So I went to work trying to unlock the bootloader to root the device.
I got the code from Motorola and tried to unlock and got the message: "<bootloader> Check 'Allow OEM Unlock' in Developer Options FAILED
Which I cannot do because I cannot see a way into the device to unlock the dev options now.
Not sure what I can do now. This seems like a remarkably flawed security feature...
Never-mind was able to solve via:

Problem with “Mi Unlock Status”

Hello guys,
as the title says, I want to unlock my Redmi 5 Plus and load LineageOS, but I'm stuck.
I was approved and this morning I received the text message confirmation that says "Permissions have been granted ...", but when I go to "Mi Unlock Status" and touch "Add account and device" i receive this error code: 86006.
These are my iphone info
upload pictures
I tried with 5 different VPNs, and restarted many times but nothing worked.
I read around that probably i have to wait 72 hours in order to unlock my device, is this correct?
Anyway any kind of help is really appreciated.
Thanks

86006 is not connection issue, its a server issue...
VPN issue is error 10008
try to flash developer rom, if the problem persist then welcome to the dead-end.
We're users from Indonesia, we've tried every possible method including tearing phone, short the circuit, test-point, etc...
It all end with either 86023 or 86006 error. We've got reply from official xiaomi Indonesia that stated the bootloader can't be unlocked anymore on official phone. It's weird because we're not bound to any specific carrier.
The only real solution is just to sell official phone and buy illegal unofficial phone from third-party reseller.
hopefully people at other countries still can unlock their phone

its simple, just download the file from xiaomi site, simply pick the recovery rom and put it on your phone
then from updater app, choose the option on top-right and select that file... it should be done in 10 minutes.

recover locked LG G6?

Hi there!
I found an LG G6 with cracked screen in the trash. There was no SIM-Card and no SD-Card in there, but it still seems to work. It has encrypted userdata so I couldn't boot it to see if there's any contact info displayed.
I found I could factory reset the phone by getting into the stock recovery and switching to yes two times.
Now it boots but it will not allow me to enter the phone without giving it an internet connection and logging in with a previously used google account. Since I found this phone and was not able to find out who the previous owner was I of course do not have a google account that was used on the phone previously.
I also booted into fastboot but can't do anything because the bootloader is locked, and it of course was not left by the previous owner with the developer option to allow for unlocking set.
Is there some way to get this phone operational again so it can be used for something more than spare parts (minus the main-board)?
Thank you!
Why dont you flash kdz file? From lg-firware. Com . Oh wait if you cant see imei if you cant get inside phone...
Ah, that's an idea, I will try that. Thank you for the tip. Unsure if a stock ROM flash will reset that google account lock, but I guess it doesn't hurt to try.

Does it work?
Sadly, no. I tried a few of the LG Tools.
"LG Mobile Support Tool" could connect and told me there is an update available and I should use "LG Bridge" to install that.
"LG Bridge" won't connect because it tells me it requires an MTP connection and I need to allow acccess to "telefon data" if Android 6 or later is installed (which quite certainly is).
Since the phone doesn't let me in (only shows me the first setup wizard which I can't pass without the google account of the previous owner) I can't enable file sharing or accept any requested permissions.
UPDATE: Ah, now I found an "correct update problems" button in "LG Bridge", with this he started downloading 3.28GB worth of firmware, let's see whether he will manage to flash that after downloading it and if so if that does remove the google account lock.
UPDATE2: So I've researched a bit more and found that what my problem is (phone locked to previous google account) is called "FRP Lock" = Factory Reset Protection.
There are a few guides that show how you can use the accesibility feature talkback to get to youtube which allows you to open chrome which allows you to open the phone app. This allowed me to get my IMEI using the *#06# code.
But so far I could not find a phone app code that opens a service menu on this LG G6 H870 which would be required to follow the FRP guides further.
UPDATE3: haha yes the "correct update problems" procedure from "LG Bridge" updated to a newer firmware while leaving my wifi config I've entered during the UPDATE2 step but removing the "FRP Lock".

yes, it can be used now, thank you for your help!
The "correct update problems" button in "LG Bridge" did the trick.
The stuff I've described in the "UPDATE2" block was just what I was trying while waiting for the huge download to finish, but it didn't lead to anything. Though it did allow me to get the IMEI by giving me access to youtube, chrome & the phone app.

Ahh ok! Not many ppl response here. I am new too here but couldnt get any answers i am looking for but. Good that it works for you.
yes, it seems XDA's best days lie behind it sadly. They seem to make it deliberately hard to actually reach the device specific forums instead of their curated blog stuff nowadays.

Has anyone had difficulty bypassing from due to being unable to update YouTube? That's the issue I've been having

Nautiz x6

Hey guys, new to the community here. I am having issues with my device. I recently got a new tablet/phone from work, giving me the freedom to do whatever I want with my Nautiz x6. The device was preloaded with a company OS. I used ADB to put Android 8.1 OS on it but now it says it is locked with Googles FRP. But, I never registered my google account on this device? If I try to log in with my company email, it says it is not the email registered to the device. I tried to factory reset but this did not work either. The device is not stolen and I even tried to ask my boss about this and our IT department. They said to contact the manufacturer but they have yet to respond to my inquiry.
On top of this, I can no longer enable USB debugging mode now that I am locked out of the device and when using "adb shell" command, It states "Error: closed"
Thanks in advance for any help.
