It's present on all builds.
Use ClockSync from the market if it's a concern for you. I have mine sync every hour.

done... if you could please add it to the Known issues affecting all builds on ppcg to people like dont be asking for stupid questions =)

Eh, I guess. I want to strike a balance - if I put too much stuff in my posts, people will just refuse to read it - the old TL;DR issue. So I'm doing my best to only put big issues in there.

Well, for what it is worth, it seems like new people have been jumping on. It may be worth it to add the issue. Of course, some folks will still ask. May be a moot point.

Yep, I didn't realize it until I was about 10-15mins late for a class I thought I was a couple minutes early for lol! "You guys got started early today??? *looks at clock at back of the room* WTH!?" lol

Maybe ... some guys complained that when the thread has been opened the ROM was not released.
Err that was resolved. The Author deleted the original thread and created a new one. Something else went down.

There was even talk of 1.2 and 1.3 with high density dpi screen.... I was waiting for it to be released.. but now the entire thread is gone.

Yeah where is the thread??? I was waiting for 1.2 rom
Any comments?? Nitro??

He took the first thread down without an explanation which was pretty rude. If he has taken down the second thread without leaving an explanation....now that would be inexcusable. It does not take much to leave a post explaining the reasons rather than leaving people high and dry.
Though he seems to be enjoying this rom. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=15284823&postcount=3759
Perhaps he is out partying and spending his donations
Why be so quick to automatically assume the worst in people? He probably took it down for a reason and I assume it will be back up soon. I followed the thread closely and there didn't seem to be any problems/turmoil.

The reason he took his first thread down was because of the pathetic prepubescents who were complaining about a lack of progress, late ETAs and other such stuff. He took it well and even apologised - something the majority of posters on that thread didn't deserve - in fact most deserved a slap.
His ROM - he can do what he likes with it, AFAIK. "Pretty rude"?? Live with it. The high and dry people can always choose another ROM. Or make their own....
What about the people who donated so that he could keep developing, read his sig...

i must say I consider it rude not to at least leave a message as to why its been deleted. That said having posted mods and a rom myself over the years the public exceptions are very high and ask alot from the cook. I know that 1.1 did not go smoothly..... maybe he could not be arsed?

Is this a fact or have you just made this up. Where did you read this?
And those that donated towards the further advancement of the rom will perhaps think twice before giving money again to him.
what a pr*ck, i donated £20 to him!!
hate people like him...
The guy honestly doesn't seem like a prick at all, so it's either coming back with a bang or he can't be bothered anymore. That's his decision. Personally I would only donate to a dev after they've shown commitment in the way of releases. This was only at 1.1.

I read it on said thread, I'm not making it up. TBH, I can't remember if he pulled it himself or the mods did.

We NEED BFS schedulers for kernels!

Yes I know wrong section. But this absolutely MUST go out to as many kernel devs as possible. I see alot of kernel activity today, and im just saying. BFS + dual core...
You even state its the wrong thread. Shame on you.

"Alot of kernel activity..." ???
All I see is bnice's added today...
Glad to see his bc as far as kernels go we have been lacking lately. Remember in evo4g after source is out net and others would b on top of it within a week and have ton of stuff added.
Spoiled back then I guess. LOL
But to ur point about BFS, I tried those so many times and the battery like effect was never worth the slight performance bump over using cfs. Just my opinion on it.

jeez guys... take it easy.
lol.
just a desperate plea for BFS.
I love the theory in BFS but CFS just feels far faster (and more immediate) IMHO.
Yuck, no we don't.
BFS has always produced terrible results on phones-- that usually result in very strange issues and battery problems. CFS all the way.

Maybe we can mark the "end of an era" here on XDA, when there officially are NO more silly BFS kernels worked on by Devs or even, possibly, demanded by users. These kernels were begun to be produced originally because of users' strange fixation on the 5% of "missing" battery life they were "getting screwed out of" every time they unplugged after a full charge.
The appropriate reaction by developers over the first complaint of this years ago SHOULD have been "so what? It's 5%. That's actually a safety feature that's there to protect your battery and to make sure you don't burn down your house.... ".
Why the whole "BFS!-here's-a kernel-that-will-keep-charging-that battery-until-it-glows-or-explodes" thing ever became a thing in the first place is beyond me.
Cmon guys... Here's our chance.
Edit:
I win the idiot award for this fantastic piece of work. I'm SO leaving it up, though... lol.

Haha... Sorry guys... I just woke up and saw my fatal error...
Go ahead, yuk it up..., (I would)...
Anyway, I read the OP wrong, obviously...
I was talking about an SBC kernel...
(That concept, I know I'm against, by definition.)
And I am familiar with the concepts of BFS/CFS... Honestly, though, I could never tell much of a difference between the two when using different variations of the same kernel on my EVO4G.... (I've got a CFS kernel with CM7 in there right now, I believe, that's never given me issues, though.
So, once again, sorry for the goof, sorry to the OP because my opinion was misguided..
I didn't read it correctly, and thought I knew what I was talking about.
Ps, thanks Chef, for taking up for me though, but, while I definitely know more about Android than I did a year ago, I still am learning every day, and that's because of everyone else that's here every day too.
Thanks for keeping me in check, fellas.

USSD Fix

Hi All
Is it possible for any DEV to fix the USSD Problem in Photon.
I have looked into many threads and nothing helped.
Seems like there is some patch which needs to be applied

Apparently folks are not bothering to read the forum guidelines yet again and could obviously care less. This has gotten completely out of hand so on that note I give you the following...
Camel+straw=back injury
(I will no longer be releasing or maintaining anything on xda until this BS stops)
While it is annoying, there are probably 100 good users to every bad one. So all hope is not lost. All we really need is moderators that actually frequent these forums to enforce the rules. It's not the userbases responsibility to report things and hope the mods do something. It's the mods responsibility to do the job they were given.
You know this **** is getting out of hand when important devs can't stand to be here anymore. Sorry Loki :/

Multiple pre-failures on primary (SMART monitor lit up like a christmas tree), must save data, grab backup (I have pets) hard impact with hardwood floor, grab second backup and in my haste plug directly into wall and (cue power surge) smoke not figuratively but literally. Three hard drives in about five minutes.
The only time I've ever seen multiple drives go at once was a voltage controller for the pci slots short and take out a RAID5 array in one stroke.
Well anyways, I will eventually get up and running but at this time it's really not a priority. Thanks to those that have donated and supported photon development and my work.

seriously this kid must have drove his parents nuts on family car rides, "are we there yet" are we there yet???"

... and to the OP.
how the hell are you even rooted if you can't check and uncheck a tweak
again, lmao
^ can you take a joke from a stoner movie ? wow some uptight ones here. And I'm rooted because I have a general knowledge for technology and it comes easy to me. I've been working on computers since I was ten and been rooted my smart phones since the g1. Its not my fault if there is a bug or glitch in the rom that permanently disables animations and grays them out. Its not something I can simply check or uncheck and your a moron if you think otherwise. Would you like me to do replicate the problem for you with a zip file of the broken rom that you can flash and prove to yourself ? Btw go smoke a joint and relax.... everyone knows phones are some serious business
and perhaps thats why and answer was never given, because there isn't one ? So rather then say "hey sorry can't help ya" you all feel the need to cut someone else down because your too stupid to fix his problem either. Its been my past experience that if an answer to something that only one person is having trouble with is not answered in a short time that it probably won't be answered. Most non d1ck [email protected]$ on other forums would have just told me to restore a nandroid backup or reflash the rom but I'm so glad I asked you geniuses first. O and "Accepted NOT Expected" no $hit there accepted if you have a donate button =P
If any one you where actually smart enough to read the op you would see that I asked how to turn the animation SCALE back on. I can turn animations on and off just fine but ANIMATION SCALE got GREYED out and now its is stuck that way.

Enable/Disable Fast Dormancy

To Enable/Disable Fast Dormancy on ICS add the appropriate line to your build.prop. build.prop can be found in system/app folder. To edit just press on build.prop and then edit with a text editor. Place the edit at the very bottom of your build.prop.
Enable: ro.ril.fast.dormancy.rule=1
Disable: ro.ril.fast.dormancy.rule=0
You do not add the word Enable:/Disable: just add ro.ril.fast.dormancy.rule=#
I know I already posted this on another thread but a lot of people (not all) do not read the threads but still wanna know the fix so I thought it would be easier to start another thread and put it in the first post so nobody has to search for an answer. Fast Dormancy is believed to save battery life when disabled.

Cause I assume with all the threads about Fast Dormancy on XDA and many other sites most people have heard of it and know what it is used for. I can give an explanation but you can also ask for an explanation or simply do a google search. Here is a link about Fast Dormancy that gets strait to the point about why people wanna use this feature on the I717 Note. Read the last paragraph.

I know what it is.. but as you see you had a member ask if its supposed to be enabled or disabled...it just helps a little more when making threads to perhaps explain what it is.. or what it could do..Just helps the inexperienced users to learn..

On Android 2.#.# there is a few simple way to turn it on and off but on ICS its not as simple. I'm thinking about making a script so that it can be turned on and off at anytime.
Just thought I might add, the "huge battery improvements" have no credibility for the most part unless screen on times are included. 60+ hours means nothing if you're only getting like 2 or 3 hours of screen on time. OP or whoever has done this build prop edit should run a few tests with and without it enabled and show the great increase in screen on time, or most people will continue to be confused about this.
That being said, I can see where it can increase standby battery life, but I doubt that it makes much of a difference in screen on time, which is what matters most to anybody who has a charger on hand every night.
*******edit******** meant to post this in the bounty thread about fast dormancy where the op hasn't done anything but complain and make ridiculous claims without much proof.

I will say it again, it works for me in my every day use. The pattern is the same and before it was 8 to 12 hours now its up to 30. If you don't believe it then dont bother with disabling it

Actually, no, you still haven't shown anything regarding screen on time, which is arguably the best indicator of battery life. My note could get 30 hours bone stock if I barely used it. I get about 14-15 hours with almost 4 hours of screen on time in a usual day, and haven't touched fast dormancy. Show me your 30 hours with 4 hours of screen on time, and I'll eat my words.
In the mean time, you should probably grow up a little, as we like to keep things mature and civil around here. Also, you should probably get on with paying that 25 dollar bounty you posted; its only fair to porkenheimer and the guy who unbricked you.

ok here we go... first I have nothing I need to prove to you. My every day use is generally the same. Prior to FD being disabled, I would get a total of 12 to 15 hours of batter between charges. Now its 30 hours plus. Thats good enough for me and anyone else who cares.
Secondly, I dont know of many phones (especially this size) that four hours plus of continuous on screen time is going to get there.
as for the bounty, I ask for a dev to come up with a solution and I will gladly split it between the two. But I find it funny that you and so many truly doubt its value so does that mean they really deserve a bounty.
And I might remind you, I am grown up but you were the first to make baseless accusations in a thread I wasnt even a participant in. Talk about an unfair fight or is that your M.O.
ta ta
P.S. do some thread searching on me. The same results were posted (even better) when I had my international note
P.S.S. purely ridiculous what goes on over trying to extend our battery life. You would think we are debating world peace. up...tight.........
I will once again charge over night and run a FULL cycle and then post. If you eat or dont eat I could care less but at least others can decide for themselves

Again, you have said nothing about your screen on time with it enabled vs. disabled. For all anybody knows, you just got more conscious about conserving battery once you have it disabled on a device, and a little conservation can go a long ways in improving standby time if you have very little screen on time. Screenshots prove legitimate improvements of screen on time, of which, you have provided none. You can say your battery life increased as much as you want, but unless that screen on time improves, you haven't said much. And if you would have read my first post, I meant to post it in your thread but made a mistake. My intention wasn't to go behind your back. And as far as I'm concerned, my accusations are more based in fact from my experience with my past two androids and their forums regarding battery life than your claims of ridiculous battery life are. Screen on time matters because your screen is on when you're using your phone. Anybody who lives in a modern city with access to a power outlet could give a hoot about your standby time increasing, as that's most likely the case. And about the bounty, somebody did come up with a solution. And people question the legitimacy because they haven't seen solid, set in stone, improvements that are proven...hell, most people don't know what it is.
All I asked for was some screen time values, and a comparison of enabled vs. disabled with respect to screen time, that is all. You can either oblige, or I guess I'll try it myself. No need to argue and clutter up porkenhimer's thread.

I am not going to oblige you. I think you are perfectly capable of running your own test. If you feel what I have given so far is inconclusive, bogus or usefulness to everyone else then your entitled to that opinion. This is still a place where others can try the same course I took and if they get a result then great. if they dont then its a failure.
But your decision to deride it unless it has an a-b is just that, another accusations. I have said at least three or four time for me I have seen major increases in the time between charges. Perhaps your basis of "we all know putting on a charger every night" is the sole argument why you think this isnt valid. Again, others are free to decide not you.
Thats it for me folks. Carry welchertc all you want but I think from my perspective I have said all I care to address with you.

no sides to take mate. Try it and if it works great, if not you can easily turn it back on
I'll just be blunt and ask: what was your screen-on time during the 30 hours?
Screenshots would be cool, too.
I'm genuinely curious!
