Have you tried to close the ambient sensor with your hand? If you're on dark room it should automatically lid. but if you're on the bright room, it is of course turned off. there's an app on Market to monitor the ambient sensor. Play with your thumb above the sensor to see if it's working or not.

or any 1 please provide me there folder files of "sys/devices/platform/msm_pmic_misc_led.0/"

Hmm i don't know any other solution manjeet. But i want to share you the same experience like yours..
I have just reflashed into the normal firmware. but when i tried to test the light by closing the light sensor, i am surprised to know that the keyboard was not lid too! It just works for 1 second when i open the keyboard, and turns off soon. i was in panic then, but i tried to be calm, and when i tried to hide into a dark room, it works again. Fiuhh..
I don't know but maybe you need to really go to the dark places. Seems that the Proximity sensor and Light sensors work in tandem. If it still fails in the dark, then i guess you really need to have it serviced.. Dunno bout the cost, but it shouldn't be too expensive..
Good luck with your u20i bro.

thanx hansip......

Proximity sensor

When I'm in a call and put the phone to my ear the screen does not turn off instantly. Only after the screen timeout period has reached does the screen goes off. Is this normal?
Hello, and sorry for my english, i have the similar issue, when i put the phone on my ear the screen continue on, only in a few second appear lock the screen. I have another issue: the ambient senson, in darkness and sun light the automatic brightness doesn't change the bright of the screen, only when i enter to the brightness settings and change the bright automatic off and on go right, i believe that is problem of the firmware, my firmware version is the spanish vodafone version. Can i change to the generic firmware via Sonyericsson Update Service software??

I don't think the proximity sensor would switch off your screen instantly. It will ignore all touches to the screen so you wouldn't touch something by mistake. The screen will be off later. Can test it with your fingers on the sensor during a call.

I did that. If the sensor is blocked with my finger or ear the touch can't be used. But the screen turns off quite a bit later than that. I think it's the same screen off settings that you use normally when the phone is unlocked and you don't lock it.
I've notice that my sensor doesn't seem to work. Under the brightness option if I check the "Adjust automatically" the screen still does not adjust the brightness. Also noticed the screen goes dark a minute in on a call, when I move it from my head it does not go bright. Sometime I have to unlock screen if call is longer than a few minutes.
Yep normally proximity sensors (on Nokia, iPhones..etc) turn off the screen immediately when ur face is close. Some examples:

Yeah, that's true. But I know that mine works! It's just not turning off the screen. Don't really know if it's supposed to do that though. But I think so!
Just spoke to vodafone and they are sending me a replacement tomorrow.I doubt that will sort the problem. But its worth s try!

The Proximity sensor works fine. However it works differently from what you would expect:
-When making a phone call the sensor detects your big head and locks the screen (put your finger near the sensor to try it, you won't be able to push any buttons on the screen).
-It only locks the screen. The screen turns off after some time.
-When the screen is off during a call and you remove your head (or finger) from the sensor the display turns on again.
Works fine for me! Don't kill SE because they do it differently then other manufactures, it works just fine.
Well I wish I could disable the proximity sensor right now.
I am trying to make a call without my big head bloking the proximity sensor, as I need to dial a number get trough the switchboard. (right now its lying flat on my desk while I am dialing.. So no head at all, just roof)
and the screen is still locked so I cant press the number 1.
The strange thing it worked when I called SE support, but it doesnt work now.
But right now when I need it, it does not work.

That is indeed strange. I've just tested it several times:
Make a call> Let the screen turn off>remove from my big head>screen turns on >screen is unlocked and I can acces the 'dialer'.
Well as I wrote, sometimes I can do it sometimes I can't.
I will try to clean the proximity sensor (right side of the Sony Ericsson logo)
the next time it happens. Maybe its to over sensitive.
Right now it works to the same number I was trying earlier..

Is it right to assume that the auto brightness is controlled by the proximity sensor. When I change my screen brightness to auto. It goes dull and stays dull.

i did *#0*# test . you should press sensor menu and when you put your finger close to proximity sensor the screen has to turn green and phone must vibrate. my phone doesnt react this test and the values of proximity were null.

in the call settings there is and option to not use proximity sensor
phone icon > menu touch button > call settings >untick turn off screen during call
you can then turn the screen off and on using the power button as per normal use.

[Q] (Q)Gyro sensor stop working

The Gyro sensor stop working on my Xperia S with .75 stock rom, the screen will not be rotate at all, I have tried the master reset, still doesn't work. If I use the compass, the screen goes blank and then restart. Please advise
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the phone does not use the Gyro in order to rotate screen. It uses the accelerometer...
And there must be an option to enable/disable it from the settings (I do not have the phone right now to be sure).
You turn it off in option, and you above me are correct.
Sent from my LT26i using XDA
The problem is the auto rotation option is already enabled, the accelerometer is control the screen rotation, while the gyro sensor detects the movement of the phone, they are both not working for some reasons, if I restart the phone, it might work for a while and then stop working again.
Use this code in dialer and test them

It says function not built in!!
Not built in?!?
Maybe you should head to Sony Service!
reflashed
NO the gyro+ accelerometer are built in the phone definately
since is work in my one !
Did you dropped, hitted?
try to re flash using PCC if not 99% your phone will have 2-3 weeks holiday from you in Sony repair center because it the hardware problem. guess
Tried to restore it to the factory setting, reflashed through PCC. It is still the same. It might work for couple of minutes or otherwise hours, but then it starts not working again. It is really annoying! The funny bit is the display would just stay horizontally, no matter which way I hold the phone while the "auto rotation" option is enabled.
Probably send to the service centre is the only way, as my screen has the yellowish problem too. I need to get it fix anyway.

AUTO ROTATION PROBLEM:
Tried on xperia p
TRY THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK OR ASK PROFESSIONAL !!!
I solved it by opening the phone and then tapping the gyro sensor IC a bit. After that auto rotate started working and no problem uptill now.

Screen no longer functions once I make a call

Hi all!
Here recently anytime I use one of the KK based roms, once I make a call, the screen no longer works. I can't get it to come back on until the call has ended. There have been a few times where I've been able to get the screen to light up again and it will work until I go back to the actual call and then it's totally unresponsive. I've tried different dialers and the same thing happens. Any ideas?

Hello
I had the same problem lately with different galaxy model, the problem was with light sensor, the screen was not fixed correctly at the corner of light sensor, so I had to push it down little bit the get the light inside the sensor,
dose the light sensor work correctly with viber for example?,
You could try test your phone light sensor by entering general testing mode by entering *#0*# inside dialer and go to "sensor" to test the light sensor put your finger over the light sensor and see if the screen become green or not if so then your problem is not with the light sensor, check if the touch screen is fixed correctly form all the corners.
Good Luck

It's only when i use a new KK Rom. I can use the TW Roms and it works perfectly fine.
I did the test and it's green when I don't cover it and goes to red when I cover it.
Just tried a 4.4.3 Rom and it still won't work.
I went back to a 4.2.2 TW rom and everything is working fine.

Question Facing Issues Mi 11x pro Proximity sensor

Hey guys i bought this phone few days ago i am facing proximity sensor issues right now
when i try to call someone it will randomly go to dark screen
proximity sensor in testing apps does not work correctly
i tried removing the screen protecting glass and case it still persist
i thought this issues might have been fixed with the new update it doesn't guys should i return this device and get new one
Mi 11x pro uses a ultrasound chip for the proximity sensor and this works combined with other sensors like the gyro. So when you put the earpiece to your ear it detects an orientation change and switches the display off. I'm currently on indian miui v12.5.2 and don't face the issue you mention. Slow movements are known to confuse the phone. Other than that the screen shouldn't switch off after initiating the call unless you change its orientation. Testing apps work with orientation change.

Almost all of the sensor apps fail this, but in call I have no problem whatsoever.
Are you having trouble during calls?

The problem is with MIUI 12.5.4.0, we need to wait for the fix with newer version of MIUI or try to install xiaomi.eu ROM
