Isn't this being too persuasive to put faults which have not yet been proven wonking on this rom . Really love the effort though

It wonks by the way

I was about to post the same thing
He apparently went at 88mph with 1.21 jiggawatts

- Kernel include in this rom is default CM7 nightly build (OC MAX 1.13 GHz)
- I have no idea on battery life, assuming same on CM7 build,
testing on my n1 (Always on 3G), it gets around 5-6 hrs, to 35% drain battery
- I still not found bug on CAM, Video CAM etc.
- but found a memory leaks when connected to usb for transfer big files.
- I 've correct the date on this thread, ha-ha-ha

How are you getting quadrant scores like that? I'm running the latest CM nightly and I rarely get above 1300

What do you mean you found a memory leak when connected to USB ? You sure this hasn't crept in from CM7 Nightly ?

Does it have track ball wake? is HSPA working?
tks great work

Below is an explanation of "the wonk" provided to me by Redstar, who is a close bud here on XDA and is a kernel developer too that provides great support here.
Per Redstar:
<<Don't know how much you've read about the wonk, so I'll try to briefly explain things...
It has to do with when you answer an incoming call (or make a call) after the phone has been asleep for some time and it either freezes and reboots or you won't be able to hear anything.... We've been able to trace it to a race in the i2c bus so that the a1026 chip isn't getting initialized correctly... what that translates to is that something is keeping the i2c bus busy, and when the voice processor chip tries to start up, it can't... so that's where you get the "wonk" from... >>

Nevermind

are you using quadrant advanced or the new one from the market? ive noticed benchmarks to be 200-300 points lower with the new one from the market. dont know why quadrant advanced benches higher. also, if you have a2sd or data2sd enabled your scores will be lower. changing setcpu scaling to performance while overclocked would help. so would closing all running processes

MODERATOR WARNING!
All of us here are ecstatic that DS is back. This new Build marks the next level in Android Development for WinMo phones. It's a very exciting time but there are a few things we all need to keep in mind.
1) No THANK YOU Posts. Anyone found doing so on high volume threads will be given as infraction. We have implemented a new THANKS button here at XDA. Use that to convey your gratitude.
2) The first few pages of this thread have already informed us of this build being incredibly fast. Everyone knows it now which means NO more "This is so FAST!" posts.
3) There are several issues with this build, which have come to light over the last 30 pages. Check to see if your problem has been listed (Chances are that 999 out of 1000 are already listed). If it is, then you are not allowed to post asking for a solution to the same problem.
4) STRICTLY NO REQUESTS!
Any discussions in this thread have to be limited to the build provided here. No discussions and arguments about the pros and cons of Sense Builds.
5) NO asking for ETA of the next build.
Any deviation from the above will result in an Infraction.

SuperRAM Sense by darkstone1337

If you don't know anything, SEARCH GOOGLE FIRST.
------------------------------------------------------------
What is SuperRAM Sense?
- It is a Sense rom with some modifications added, but kept as close to stock as possible. The only thing that is modified is the keyboard, camera and some icons.
What is special about this build?
- What is special about this build is parts of the Android O/S filesystem are stored in RAM before it is booted.
What does this mean?
- Well, RAM is faster than NAND(ROM) and SD Card which in turn will make the build superfast too! Very fast. Very very fast!
I don't understand what NAND(ROM) or RAM is!
- NAND is a slower memory type (ROM) which is designed to hold data even after the phone is turned off. This is where your Windows Mobile operating system is stored.
- RAM is a much faster memory type which is designed to hold information on a temporary basis. After your phone is turned off, the data in RAM is lost.
- Running Android on your HD2 does not touch your ROM in any way! So when you turn off the phone and turn it back on, Windows Mobile will be loaded. No changes are made to ROM.
Does this mean I'm going to lose the stuff that I put in Android when my phone goes off or crashes?!
- NO. Only the operating system files for this build will be stored in RAM. User data and downloads will be saved to your SD card in a special file called data.img
- Remember if your phone crashes in Android, nothing will affect your Windows Mobile operating system since this build runs off RAM.
What other advantages does this build have?
- Unlike normal builds which are ran from the SD card, this build will not stress your SD card nearly as much. This will allow faster transfer speeds and less chance of data corruption.
- Battery usage will be less than SD card based builds as the operating systems files will be accessed from RAM instead of the SD card.
- Quick android boot!
Something isn't working properly!
- First of all check the build thread by SEARCHING FIRST to see if there is a solution to your problem or if it is already listed as a known issue. If there is no solution and the problem has not been posted by someone else, ONLY THEN should you post here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=10180198
- Please include details about the issue, such as how to replicate the problem.

------------------------------------------------------------
Installation and Setup:
Make sure that you do not have another Android folder on your SD card. If you do, then either rename the folder or back it up to another location and delete the folder.
Copy the folders named Android and media to the ROOT of your SD card. If you don't know what the root of the SD card is, look here: http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080521052942AAMW3kA
On your HTC HD2, use file explorer to browse to the Android folder on your SD card. Run the program CLRCAD.EXE (nothing is supposed to show up when you run this program.). Then run haret.exe.
You will now see a green HTC logo on a black background for a couple of seconds, then you will see nothing but a blank screen for a couple of seconds.
After this, you will see the HTC Sense unlock screen.

Click to collapse
------------------------------------------------------------
Notes:
- My own personal thought. I don't know if Sense was worth putting into RAM, I guess I like challanges so I gave it a go. I'm not promising amazing speed with this build.
- Upon booting, your HTC Sense launcher will contain no widgets or icons. It is up to yourself to add widget and icons.
- I have included a 1GB data.img, however you can use any size that you wish if you have your own data.img.
- I highly recommend starting with a new data.img regardless of whether you have used this build previously. There are some changes that may conflict with your current image.
- If you wish to make changes to the build, use the file structure in Android/root/ on your SD card to put your modified files in. They will be copied upon boot. Do not worry if they are not deleted, this is normal.
- Robot voice issue may occur when in a call. If this happens, during the call ENABLE THE LOUDSPEAKER, then DISABLE THE LOUDSPEAKER then END THE CALL. Do this exactly and every call after will no longer have this issue.
- You are left with around 250MB+ free RAM after booting the build. This is enough memory for anything!
- Build.prop is easy to modify, I have included a copy in /Android/root/system on the SD card. Modify this as you with and your changes will be copied over upon the boot of Android. If you mess something up, just delete the file and the changes won't be applied upon next boot. This goes for any file you put in the Android/root/ folder.
- I'm not going to be like other chefs and say "THE BATTERY LIFE IS EXCELLENT I PROMISE" etc. Everyone's setup is different, just test the build for yourself!
- Forget quadrant scores! If you're judging this build by quadrant scores then I pity you. This type of build is different from other builds, yes the quadrant scores may not be in the 2000+ range, but honestly, can you actually say to me that this build is slower than other builds that have a higher score? I sure hope not.
- The base rom is from Lambros Custom Rom r4 Desire rom which has been modified by myself: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=745447
- The initrd and CSSync updates is based on that from cedesmith. However, I've modified the initrd for my own build.
- The PPP wrapper update is from LeTama's thread, version 0.7
- The HaRet loader is custom made by NetRipper, thanks to him for helping me increase the initial ramdisk size limitation!
- The HTC EVO keyboard is from motoman234 : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=810338
- The modified HTC EVO Camera is from iamgpc : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=829534
- Thanks to LeTama for providing a way to create my own htcleo.acdb file!
For developers only:
- The kernel included is hastarin's r8.6 eb kernel, taken from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=787588
- Kernel source: http://www.gitorious.com/~hastarin/linux-on-wince-htc/hastarins-linux_on_wince_htc

------------------------------------------------------------
Bugs Fixed in version 0.1:
- No more data corruption. I have enabled sync in initrd.
- Robot voice is very rare now during calls. It should only happen once when you boot for the first time.
- No more high battery drain during sleep! Refer to my post here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10179562&postcount=2293
Bugs Remaining:
- Notification LED's only blink once, use LED me know from market if you want LED notifications. Be warned, power consumption will rise with this.
- Rare robot voice bug
- PPP data should now work correctly for EVERYONE [UPDATE, turns out it's not...]. Thanks to MAsterokki and DutchDanny for pointing out the issue! Take a look here and see if there is a solution to your data problem: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=892079
------------------------------------------------------------
Thanks to everyone at #htc-linux, #htc-linux-chat and at xda-developers for your help, guidance and support!
Thanks to my beta testers! Thanks to Hastarin for pointing out the toolchain issue which cases high power usage in sleep!
The first boot will take under a minute, subsequent boots will take much less time.
I am running HTC HD2 Stock rom 3.14.405.2.
My radio is 2.15.50.14, I have NO robot noise issue with the combination.

I think we said that Sense would never be possible? May I ask why it is possible now? Is this a stripped version of sense? What changed?
Lets all wait for to try the build before posting a bunch of nonsense (pun intended). This is supposed to be for feedback and the DL link is not even up so lets not have 5 pages of fluff posts....please...pretty please.
Ok...Except from Sense.... everything should be similair to SuperRAM_Froyo_1.5....right?

Haha, I love a guy with a sense of humor. You never cease to entertain (and of course your builds never cease to amaze).
It's interesting you opted to stick with hastarin's EB. That specific (old) driver invariably shuts down my phone at about 9% battery remaining (despite numerous attempts to calibrate and erase entrained charge data), so I was wondering if this build, like many others, can withstand a simple zimage swap with the non-EB kernel. Since this particular thread and build are both so new, I thought it a prime time to ask before ruining something and coming back to complain or whatnot.

Intro
Perhaps all of you know that all of our custom ROMs are laggy. It lags every 5 to 7 seconds. Fps2d clearly shows that.
dmesg shows that also:
So what to do? It seems that the stock driver is buggy.
I've been working with those stupid lags for some days, and now, here it is my friends No more stupid MDDI lags

Wikipedia says - "The integration of MDDI is said to enable the adoption of advanced features, such as high-definition (QVGA) LCDs and high-resolution megapixel cameras for wireless devices, and supports capabilities such as driving an external display or a video projector from a handset."
However, basically it just removes the lags in custom ROMs and enables better processing.

I think I installed it properly (no boot loop), but it doesn't look like its working properly, FPS2D shows an average of 79 with a stdev of 10.76, which is about the same as it did before.
MiniCM6 1.0.0 overclocked to 729 MHz.
*EDIT, it seems to be stabilizing to an average of 81 with stdev of ~7
my quadrant score from 1179 has dropped to 789 is that good... I noticed that the difference is in graphics.... my fps with x8mddi.ko are verry low!!! I am on MiniCM 1.0.0.. Is that supposed to happening???

[KERNEL] FD's Kernel v1.0 (OC/UV, CWM4, BLN, ROOT)

Yes!! My first release. (another kernel )
To keep it simple; this is a basic kernel, compiled from Samsung source.
My target was to keep it fast, stable and improve battery life at the same time.
Features:
Disabled unnecessary debugging and logging (logcat/dmesg) - for increased smoothness
OC/UV - CPU Freq range is 7 now (200/500/800/1000/1200/1400/1600)
Supports BLN
Touch sensitivity fix
Minor performance tweaks
CWM4
ROOT
Using Samsung Update2 source code
Using Chainfire's initramfs
Recommended Voltage:
OC/UV available with SetCPU or Voltage Controller.
1600MHz: 1350mV

FD-Kernel_SGS2_v1.0b:
Updated initramfs to KI4
Oh a new kernel, cheers mate will try this out.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
is this KH3?
Thanks man, another good kernel for us for testing and improving our phone's experience
Some questions :
1) root is an "auto-root" or it has to be installed using CWM?
2) BLN support includes correct libraries installation or it depends by specific rom (lights.GT-I9100.so modified)?
3) That quadrant score in the figure is high...on what build you were when you have obtained that result?
4) I often use GPS, have you planned for the future some kind of features to improve it?

Good luck! I wish you all the best!
A good idea would be to post what version's initramfs you're using. I suppose this is for XWKI4?

Its a kernel, you can use it with any build.
I'm using KG3 initramfs from Chainfire though.

Thank you for your work, i'll test it with pleasure.

1) Auto-root
2) Kernel has the support, you should have compatible ROM or if required, I can provide the cwm zip to install the .so file.
3) Stock KG3
4) There is no point in releasing updates and making the users the guinea-pigs. If I'm able to achieve performance improvement without sacrificing battery and stability, I'll update and release a new version. But, yes, I plan on continuing the development.
Thanks for your support.

Thank you for your answers. I'll test it on XWKI4 Odexed and then on my Deodex version. BLN libraries could be important but not needed (if everyone knew what to do ).
Have you provided any kind of script in etc/init.d?
Nice work, i've subscribed your 3D for following it
Battery calibration done now will discharge to 100% like a mad man today lol to test this out. Not had much luck with previous update2 kernels in relation to battery but lets see what this baby can do. UV settings so far stable, slight sensitivity issues whilst in charge. Will report my findings in due course.
Thanks again mate.

I'm guessing everyone knows about BLN library. Incase if someone asks for help, I'm sure either me or someone else will jump in to help.
No, I've not added any scripts.
Thanks.

Yes!! My first release. (another kernel )
To keep it simple; this is a basic kernel, compiled from Samsung source.
My target was to keep it fast, stable and improve battery life at the same time.
Features:
Disabled unnecessary debugging and logging (logcat/dmesg) - for increased smoothness
OC/UV - CPU Freq range is 7 now (200/500/800/1000/1200/1400/1600)
Supports BLN
Touch sensitivity fix
Minor performance tweaks
CWM4
ROOT
Using Samsung Update2 source code
Using Chainfire's initramfs
Recommended Voltage:
OC/UV available with SetCPU or Voltage Controller.
1600MHz: 1350mV
1400MHz: 1250mV
1200MHz: 1200mV
1000MHz: 1100mV
800MHz: 1000mV
500MHz: 950mV
200MHz: 850mV
Screenshots:
Quadrant is not an accurate benchmark tool, but on an average with this kernel (Scaling: ondemand), I'm able to achieve ~4200 to ~4400.
Note: This is a hobby for me and I do this in my free time. If you like my work, you can always say thanks .
I would like to thank the following members of this community: chainfire, creams, hacre, codeworkx, hardcore, netarchy and vitalij.
If I forgot to mention someone - apologizes.

May I tell you that is a little bit stupid for disabling debugging tools?
Now users can not do bugreports, cannot use adb for pushing files.
Cannot use adb in recoverymod for fixing a bad script, nothing.

All final releases are supposed to have them disabled. Debugging is left on only for development purposes.
BTW, adb install/push/pull will still work. That isn't disable.

Okay, but you can disable adb.
Debugging is also handy for people who make a own app, or ROM.
Ex. ROM chefs.

Yes. But, disabling adb completely isn't a wise choice. In-case a user is facing problem with their ROM and data-wipe doesn't help, they will need to push in a clean ROM to flash from CWM, it is important to have adb then.
Developers should use another kernel. This is meant for end-users who likes their phones fast and stable.

[Kernel|Gingerbread] EVO View 1.8Ghz Overclock

====================
EVO View Kernel with 1.8Ghz Overclock
Thanks:
LeeDroid for the overclock source
snq- for the vdd sysfs interface
The kernel:
- Overclockable to 1.8Ghz -
** Use at your own risk **
- Edited voltage tables for at least a useable environment for most users -
** I tested the max overclock on my device and it did not reboot. However, not all devices are equal and I did not keep my device overclocked for an extended period of time. YMMV **
- Enabled deadline scheduler -
- Available governors: smartass, interactive, conservative, performance, ondemand with smartass set to default -
- Added snq-'s vdd_levels sysfs interface which allows the user to edit the cpu voltage levels -
See here for instructions on how to use the interface
-- This is a "base" kernel. Not much has been done/added to it due to my impending overseas relocation. Because of this, I will be without my linux box until February of next year. This means that there will be limited to no support or updates to this kernel in that time frame. --
Why release something if I can't support it? I saw the rising want for developers on the EVO View tablet. I may not have time to devote to developing for this device at the moment but I figured I can at least share what I have to give devs (or aspiring devs) something to start off of. This will at least give view owners something new to play with for the time being.
Download kernel | Source code | Stock kernel

*** I have personally flashed both zips (oc kernel and stock kernel) successfully on my device and retained all data connections. However, I am using my twrp recovery port for the htc express. I can not speak for the results of cwm users. That being said, the zips are scripted with edify which I believe cwm supports. I will do my best to help with any issues. I just will not be able to compile any new builds until next February. ***
Thanks mate, don't own the View but this is good. Finally some devving for the view.
Also, if mods see this, they could go ahead with the possibility of making a whole new fora for the View instead of just a subsection.

I personally flashed the zip on my device...although I use my twrp recovery port.
As for wifi, I confirmed that the modules (specifically the bcm4329.ko) were being written to my device successfully.
Could you please get me a log after the flash failed.
Also, I uploaded the stock kernel to the first post for people who want to revert.
I will give this a try tomorrow. Thanks for posting it. Been waiting for a kernel that could be oc'd for the view
nevermind (edited)
Not be rude or anything, but out of curiousity.... why are View Developments being posted in the Flyer Forums?
How is battery life? I tend to prefer more stamina the speed. It would be nice to get iPad battery life or better. I'm still waiting to receive my view so I can not play yet.

You don't have to overclock it but the option is there. Also the vdd sysfs will allow you to edit the cpu voltages for even more power savings (undervolt). I suggest not changing the voltages for the oc freq's below what they are already set unless you intend on seeing how much you can undervolt.
Remember too that the voltage level affects performance as much as the cpu frequency.
On that note if any view users experiment with the voltage levels please feel free to pm me your voltage settings so I can put together an average voltage table. Thanks to all.
i am still getting an error flashing through cwm its says assert failed: write_raw_image("/tmp/newboot.img", "boot")
E: Error in /sdcard/ex[ress-oc.smartass.zip
thoughts anyone?
and yes I have tried wiping even wiping all

That's weird indeed. ElAguila flashed the kernel through cwm with no errors. Perhaps try redownloading the kernel zip again and check the md5. Also try the stock kernel and see if it throws the same error.
i did get the same error with the stock one as well. Ill mess around with it. now that i know someone got it to work, I am sure i will figure it out. thanks for the kernal and the work!!!!!
I hope it works for you matthew.

This is the place to discuss the CyanogenMod nightlies. Feel free to talk about anything related to these ROMS, but to receive acknowledgement by a developer of any problems you find, the following conditions should be met:
Use the stock CyanogenMod kernel
Do not overclock
Use the default system apps (launcher etc.)
Do not use apps2sd or similar
Before posting a problem you should:
Check the posts below for a solution / fix
Read the last 10 pages of this thread for a post with a similar problem
Backup, reflash with a full wipe, check if the bug is still there
Wait 24 hours for the next nightly, the devs probably already know about it
If the problem still persists after the next nighlty appears and all the above steps have been followed, post your problem and we'll see if there is something we can do. Please include the following information:
Which Nightly you are running
Which Nightly the bug first appeared (if known)
*Confirm Stock Everything* (shows that you have read all the above)
Detailed steps to reproduce the bug (add a screenshot if it helps)
OLD BASEBAND?
If your phone uses the old baseband, you need to upgrade to the new baseband. This improves 3G signal and battery life. There are many guides on how to do this so just have a quick look around, or even watch a video on Youtube.
NO-APN PROBLEMS?
All APN problems related to 'funny SIMs' have been fixed, please thank werewolfo for generously donating an Italian funny SIM for me to test with!.
Major improvements include:
New baseband support
Better 3G Reception
.35 kernel support (only)
Offline charging
Quicker GPS lock
Smoother Accelerometers
Better 3G signal
Better battery life
CyanogenMod Updates

One guy from dev thread suggested to flash baseband from latest official ROM for your country, may be that can help
He said:
"hey guys, try downloading the official gingerbread from vodafone in .kdz, extract the baseband from that rom and use it in your rom. If you don't know how, PM me."

What do you think about that bug:Call settings/additional settings doesn't work. An error "network or Sim card error" occurs. This works in official roms and doesn't work in mik's 6.5.8 too.

The problem is a CyanogenMod problem. Someone has already submitted some patches recently, I've tested them and they work fine so they should be merged very soon.
I encounter a pretty annoying bug with outgoing/incoming calls. I cannot hang up after the phone after the conversation. I get a a blackscreen. When the other person at the other end hangs up the sound comes on to say call has been disconnected. After this, you cannot use your phone. pushing and holding the power key only makes your buttons (on the phone) flash. You have to remove battery and reboot in order to fix the problem.

Hmm nothing funny there either. I'll need to see the logcat of the radio again but from boot (1st command again). It scrolls pretty quick sometimes so try to get it all from the very beginning.
edit - this might be easier:
Code:
adb logcat -b radio > logcat.txt
switch the phone off, run the command BEFORE you switch the phone on (it'll say waiting for device) then switch the phone on and wait until you see the lock screen. you won't see anything on the screen, it saves it all to the logcat.txt file.
press ctrl + C to quit adb and paste the content of the file

The proximity sensor driver needed updating in the kernel, it's already fixed and will be in Nightly #2. However there is a fix, plug the phone in to charge and it comes back to life!
Is this going to stay on new baseband? I just don't see the need in upgrading baseband if mobile data doesn't work
