Wikipedia says - "The integration of MDDI is said to enable the adoption of advanced features, such as high-definition (QVGA) LCDs and high-resolution megapixel cameras for wireless devices, and supports capabilities such as driving an external display or a video projector from a handset."
However, basically it just removes the lags in custom ROMs and enables better processing.

it makes the connection between the chip and the lcd screen much better Sony Ericsson gave us a laggy as hell driver

@death214, thanks for the info.
Gonna try it out later.

I try and FC the MIUI Camera.

Great
Thanks
works great here!

installed, but it is difficult to know if it works, I continue to test thanks anyway! seems to work to look good, less lag, almost no lag in CPU 729, but I would not be an impression, certainly an improvement else was

Working here!

i got average score 67 on fps2d , overclocked at 729 mhz. so it's working right?

I think I installed it properly (no boot loop), but it doesn't look like its working properly, FPS2D shows an average of 79 with a stdev of 10.76, which is about the same as it did before.
MiniCM6 1.0.0 overclocked to 729 MHz.
*EDIT, it seems to be stabilizing to an average of 81 with stdev of ~7

my quadrant score from 1179 has dropped to 789 is that good... I noticed that the difference is in graphics.... my fps with x8mddi.ko are verry low!!! I am on MiniCM 1.0.0.. Is that supposed to happening???

You have to look for red lines in your fps2sd scan, if you didn't get any, the fix worked.

I was about to post the same thing
He apparently went at 88mph with 1.21 jiggawatts
- Kernel include in this rom is default CM7 nightly build (OC MAX 1.13 GHz)
- I have no idea on battery life, assuming same on CM7 build,
testing on my n1 (Always on 3G), it gets around 5-6 hrs, to 35% drain battery
- I still not found bug on CAM, Video CAM etc.
- but found a memory leaks when connected to usb for transfer big files.
- I 've correct the date on this thread, ha-ha-ha
How are you getting quadrant scores like that? I'm running the latest CM nightly and I rarely get above 1300

What do you mean you found a memory leak when connected to USB ? You sure this hasn't crept in from CM7 Nightly ?
Does it have track ball wake? is HSPA working?

Below is an explanation of "the wonk" provided to me by Redstar, who is a close bud here on XDA and is a kernel developer too that provides great support here.
Per Redstar:
<<Don't know how much you've read about the wonk, so I'll try to briefly explain things...
It has to do with when you answer an incoming call (or make a call) after the phone has been asleep for some time and it either freezes and reboots or you won't be able to hear anything.... We've been able to trace it to a race in the i2c bus so that the a1026 chip isn't getting initialized correctly... what that translates to is that something is keeping the i2c bus busy, and when the voice processor chip tries to start up, it can't... so that's where you get the "wonk" from... >>
Nevermind

are you using quadrant advanced or the new one from the market? ive noticed benchmarks to be 200-300 points lower with the new one from the market. dont know why quadrant advanced benches higher. also, if you have a2sd or data2sd enabled your scores will be lower. changing setcpu scaling to performance while overclocked would help. so would closing all running processes

FAQs
Q: How to know I installed it correctly?
A: Check with fps2d (free from market) or you can check with this command (in your phone's terminal)
Code:
dmesg | grep x8mddi
If there is some output that means the module is loaded.
Or, more simply, play some games, try some scrolling in menus... It'll be almost no lag.
Q: What's the benefit of this module?
A: You didn't read the above text, did you? It increases your phone's smoothness by eliminating the lag that happens every 5-7 seconds in custom ROMs. It isn't supposed to increase your fps.
Bug reports
When you report a bug please attach the following files:
- /system/etc/hw_config.sh

Another great module, thanks Module man
can you make this for the mini (pro)
do you need a specific file for this?
edit: what is this actually??
does it make the phone run smoother?
sorry didnt read your whole post
Oh maaan , u are genius !
Thanks again !
Works great on CM7-54, no lag, no dmesg errors, better battery and smoother gaming !!!
Thank you for keeping the X8 scene alive, when everybody struggles to do something you come along and give it in our faces. Great Job man. Will flash ASAP.
EDIT: Just installed it and boy does it speed my rom up.
Omg the whole x8 community lies to ur feet

Dammit, man, I didn't think you could actually mod anything more, and now this... Many thanks! Booting my phone right now with this new module, I'll see how it works
BTW, in your pinch2zoom thread I posted a question of what program should I use to decompile the andrej's module, change the finger detection fuzzyness and compile it again... so, what are you using for compiling those ko files? What language is it?
You don't need to decompile. I'll get the idea and try to improve
This is really neat mate!
It can be useful for the mini also
It would be really nice if you'd improve andrej's version of your pinch module by making finger detection a little better so the zoom in/out would be more natural...
thanks again for your unbelivable contribution to our community - you're simply great. you make me want to refresh the development section again and again, who knows when the new mod will be released, and what will be the new improvement. doixanh for president! =)
Waiting whis fix for ages,i am so happy.
Thank you.

I feel the difference - for example in live wallpapers which seem to have almost stopped lagging. They do, sometimes, of course, especially such advanced as Skyrocket, but in general they seem to lag less, and that's a win Anyway, that's of no importance, since I don't use live wallpapers, but similar enhancement should be visible in games.

[ROM] GingerKaskus 1.0.0-REL [CWM]

Hi guys, welcome to my thread
In here, i will be posting the ROM that i built, this is based on CyanogenMod 7 latest nightly build. But before anything else, i wanted to thank the great FreeXperia team who works very hard making an opensource libraries for our beloved X8, and doixanh who teach me a lot of stuff about building android, and the last but not least, the super great racht, the developer who makes X8 better than before, and not to forget, cyanogen and their awesome team, without them maybe we cannot have incognito browsing and DSP Manager
Well, i'll just explain what kind of ROM is this. First, i build this ROM from CM7 source using FreeXperia configuration and libs for X8, not just editing someone else's ROM. Second, the reason i'm putting it here is for bughunting and of course learning to build android further . Third, the purpose of making this ROM is to have a high performance ROM that is meant for gaming, that's because i don't have any portable game console. hehe
Ok, now the feature list, here it is :
Based on CyanogenMod 7 latest build
Fully working 3 MP Camera using Eclair libcamera (now with timer) (thanks to doixanh )
Greatly improved 2D performance (most of them thanks to doixanh again )
WiFi is working fine (thanks to FreeXperia team)
GPS is working fine (thanks to FreeXperia team again )
Great 3D performance
Only needed apps are installed
doixanh's modules for X8 except Overclock
And now the known issues so far :
Offline charging doesn't work yet
The default wallpaper problem (You'll be able to tell it )
FM Radio (intentionally disable this, because i don't use it at all )
DSP Manager?
To Do in the next builds :
Make offline charging works
Fixing Memory Management (for now still using the standard memory management values)
Change the default wallpaper
Experimenting between using odex and not using odex, because it seems if we use odex, the available RAM is lower, but the performance is a bit better.

Requirements to Install :
Latest X8 Kernel and Baseband (xx015)
CWM recovery r4
Guts and curiousity!!
Download :
1.0.0 (mirror by bbeanss) (check page 7 for fixed download file, I'm in mobile right, can't edit much)
Installation Guide :
Don't Install it yet, read this post first, because the file that you downloaded is an experimental version.
Copy the downloaded .zip package to your sdcard
Reboot to recovery (CWM)
Choose install custom zip
Choose the copied .zip package
Wait
Full Wipe/Factory reset before rebooting
Reboot phone
Enjoy
*If you didn't have CWM recovery, please visit jerpelea's FreeXperia thread for the link to install the latest CWM recovery, flash using xrecovery
If you find any bugs, please report it here, i will try to fix it, but i don't guarantee i can fix it fast.
And the last message :
I am not a dev yet, i'm just experimenting the configuration on CM7 source to find the best setting for our X8 and i'm absolutely cannot be compared to the real devs here, and please, thank them for their great works and buy them some high quality coffee if you can
*also, i forgot to remove the extra theme called Xperia Arc, it is made by kevin2516. Please visit his thread if you like, i don't want to take any credits at all
NOTE [Pay attention to this] :
This ROM is originally meant to be used by my community, but i decided to share it here to find bugs faster
Since the first release didn't include any RAM optimization, you can use JuWe's RAM Script, i only tested with it, haven't tried any other
If you find any games that work in other ROM but not in this ROM, please tell me, i'll try it find why and fix it maybe
I only tested HD Games Eternal Legacy on this ROM, and it works smoothly, haven't tried other HD Games
If you find any apps that is illegal in this ROM, please tell me, and i will remove it
I warn you, this is not a fancy ROM like GingerCruzt, if you want a fancy ROM, just download GingerCruzt/GingerDX/miniCM7
Disclaimer
I am NOT responsible for any of your actions using this ROM, i have tested this ROM running on my phone, and found no unresonable problem, USE IT ON YOUR OWN RISK
reserved for future use
gg for the custom rom,and let's hope for the best:>

-- This is a "base" kernel. Not much has been done/added to it due to my impending overseas relocation. Because of this, I will be without my linux box until February of next year. This means that there will be limited to no support or updates to this kernel in that time frame. --
Why release something if I can't support it? I saw the rising want for developers on the EVO View tablet. I may not have time to devote to developing for this device at the moment but I figured I can at least share what I have to give devs (or aspiring devs) something to start off of. This will at least give view owners something new to play with for the time being.

*** I have personally flashed both zips (oc kernel and stock kernel) successfully on my device and retained all data connections. However, I am using my twrp recovery port for the htc express. I can not speak for the results of cwm users. That being said, the zips are scripted with edify which I believe cwm supports. I will do my best to help with any issues. I just will not be able to compile any new builds until next February. ***
Thanks mate, don't own the View but this is good. Finally some devving for the view.
Also, if mods see this, they could go ahead with the possibility of making a whole new fora for the View instead of just a subsection.

I personally flashed the zip on my device...although I use my twrp recovery port.
As for wifi, I confirmed that the modules (specifically the bcm4329.ko) were being written to my device successfully.
Could you please get me a log after the flash failed.
Also, I uploaded the stock kernel to the first post for people who want to revert.
I will give this a try tomorrow. Thanks for posting it. Been waiting for a kernel that could be oc'd for the view
nevermind (edited)
Not be rude or anything, but out of curiousity.... why are View Developments being posted in the Flyer Forums?
How is battery life? I tend to prefer more stamina the speed. It would be nice to get iPad battery life or better. I'm still waiting to receive my view so I can not play yet.

You don't have to overclock it but the option is there. Also the vdd sysfs will allow you to edit the cpu voltages for even more power savings (undervolt). I suggest not changing the voltages for the oc freq's below what they are already set unless you intend on seeing how much you can undervolt.
Remember too that the voltage level affects performance as much as the cpu frequency.
On that note if any view users experiment with the voltage levels please feel free to pm me your voltage settings so I can put together an average voltage table. Thanks to all.
i am still getting an error flashing through cwm its says assert failed: write_raw_image("/tmp/newboot.img", "boot")
E: Error in /sdcard/ex[ress-oc.smartass.zip
thoughts anyone?
and yes I have tried wiping even wiping all

That's weird indeed. ElAguila flashed the kernel through cwm with no errors. Perhaps try redownloading the kernel zip again and check the md5. Also try the stock kernel and see if it throws the same error.
i did get the same error with the stock one as well. Ill mess around with it. now that i know someone got it to work, I am sure i will figure it out. thanks for the kernal and the work!!!!!
I hope it works for you matthew.

Peace guys! ! !
First of all, this mod is a good friend of mine but is opensource, I just helped in doing something changes for the better Moto line support.

Description:
Hello guys, this is my newest work for all android devices, is a simple engine focused on a good performance and battery saving, I know, it does a great job, but I did my best and I guarantee you will enjoy, you will not even see a LAG on your device.
Unlike many engines out there, the MaliveBooster is not based on AdrenalineEngine, or anywhere else, I created it from scratch to make the best of my device, she had several contributions of many of my friends who encouraged me to create it.
Features:
✔ Increase touchscreen sensitivity
✔ Less battery consumption
✔ Small and simple SD-Card read ahead script, configured to work with "4096 KB"
✔ Wireless Speed Tweaks
✔ Custom Sysctl (made by myself)
✔ Optimized overall performance
✔ Photo and video recording quality considerably increased
✔ New script to compress 3G/WiFi data, resulting in better network performance
✔ CWM/TWRP/PhilZ Touch Flashable
✔ Custom Hosts
✔ Easy to uninstall
✔ Turns your mobile phone into an incredible Galaxy S5. (joke , haha)
**Do a backup before your try anything as usual !!!

Hello, I have 2 questions:
1. Should I remove (backup) my default "fstrim" script?
Edit: yes as this mod has also one.

2. What if I have a hosts file created by adaway already?
Edit: disable from adaway app (it will restore default system hosts file) and reboot.

Recommend not using other script if you want to see what it can, but I can not tell if something will go wrong ...
I believe that nothing will go wrong, but I can not help you if you have a problem after installation, since you flash this script upon others I do not know.
So... this is for stock, AOSP, custom ROMs, any of them...?

Checked inside the .zip and I see there is a fstrim script so I'll backup and remove my default fstrim script then.

Seems there's an uninstall zip in the first post, you should try flash it!
Going to flash over CM 12.1. Will share results here..
Does it work on locked bootloaders? (At&t, Verizon models) Thanks in advance.

No dude, in order to flash things, you need a custom recovery called twrp, which requires an unlocked bootloader to be installed... Also you'll need root to access the system partition and delete other init.d files, if necessary. Just read the OP, the instructions are clear.
Just wanted to say, these scripts seem to work well, even now on LineageOS 13 (6.0.1)! Thanks for porting this over to our X!
Work on Moto x 1056-1st gen(Ghost)?
does it work with MOto xt 1056 Ghost

I personally haven't noticed any changes to these behaviors (installed/flashed on an existing LOS 13 install), but I haven't been explicitly testing them.

I use Lineage OS 13 too. So, i guess it'll work out just fine.
