surely this makes it a moot question. but the answer is yes but you would have to flash it from your sd card with xrecovery.
edit: heres mine with the apps removed, open in 7zip and drag your apks into the apps folder.

I think he was asking how to make it himself. Like how to properly make the things in that META-INF folder. I've searched too and come up with nothing. It'd be nice to be able to make a custom zip and flash back my arc phone apps, I flashed the honeycomb theme from that guy who's not go3asy, and I only hate its dialer/phonebook/calllog/favorites.

maybe you can try the HTC kitchen, which requiers your computer has a JAVA environment.

[Q] Signing Help ..

Hey all, Well i know we could not wait for a Honeycomb theme, i know i cannot, but heres my conundrum.
I have made a honeycomb keyboard, but cannot get it to install for the life of me, ive used the testkeys, shared, platform, etc (all using Signapktic from Stericson. Does anyone have any clue as to why it will not install?
A few questions that i know you might ask, answered ...
No, there is no other keyboard, other than swype, and samsung keypad..
I made it off of the GB keyboard...
Yes, I have made many of themes, many of changes to Frameworks, and have had sucess installing, and running my custom roms....
My question basically is this, IF POSSIBLE, CAN ANYONE SIGN THE FILES I HAVE TO MAKE THIS WORK? PM ME AND I SHALL SEND THE FILES. CREDIT WILL BE GIVIN, I AM ON THE OTHER HAND GOING TO NEED SOME SORT OF PROOF YOU KNOW WHAT YOUR DOING, I WORKED REAL HARD ON THIS, SO FOR RIGHT NOW ITS PRIVATE, HENSE THE PM.
THANKS AGAIN IN ADVANCE. REMEMBER .. LETS GET THIS HONEYTCOMB GOING
I know that most of the keyboards dont work simply by installing but rather need to be pushed to the data\app or data\app_s folder depending on which rom you are running. You can accomplish this using adb or using a file explorer like RootExplorer.
Thanks
Thank you man, this helps a whole lot. Now do i need to re-sign each apk inside the rom folder? or can i just re-sign the .zip?

I'm not sure what .zip you're refering to other than a CWM recovery flashable .zip for you keyboard. If this is what you mean, then use the same signiture (key) you'd find in any of the flashable .zips on the forums. In other words, just copy over the META-INF folder from some other .zip to yours. Of course, you'll want to make sure the update-script in this folder is pointing at the proper directories for installation.
For your apk, you should only need to sign it if you changed the AndroidManifest.xml. Otherwise, just keep the META-INF folder from them original apk.

Apps package question..

Could I create a .zip file including apps so I could flash it after I flash a rom just like we do with Gapps packages?
take an existing zip file and remove the apps you dont want in it and add the apps that you want to the zip file and save it. then you can flash this new zip file. Otherwise you would have to create a new zip file from scratch.
Its not hard to do actually. Just go on irc and someone will help you. Im just lazy and steal other peoples scripts but I actually know what the commands do.

Awesome. Thank you both very much! I really appreciate that.
Edit: I just thought of another idea with this. Couldn't I use astro and copy and paste the apps I want into the roms I flash so they're always there? Or is that different and I should I go to irc and ask how?

Hi devs,
As you guys should know, I have a gt-i5503 stock 2.1 upgraded to 2.2 ( it now shows gt-i5500l).
As i dont have wifi (thats a real bummer ) at home, i download the apk files and install them. Recently , i downloaded the .apk's for asphalt6, nanopandas, jenga & battlehearts ( im a hell of a gamer lol ).
but when i tried to install the files, it shows the instalation bar ( green backslashes like this //////) and after a while it reboots (shows the flashing samsung screen).
I also tried to use the apk installer from my comp but it says 'please make u have enough disk space' while i have some 51 mb in my phone storage n 200 mb in my sdcard.
please help me out.
many thanx.

Thats what i do as default. When it didnt work, i tried doing it via my comp.I also noticed that only these apks are problamatic. all others are installing without any problems. the others are of the same size. HELP!!!! :-(
where did you get the files from? they may not work properly.
Take a look at this site, galaxy-5.blogspot.com, there is a ton of games to download there. try one of those and see if it is something wrong with your phone, or the .apk you are downloading

how to use uccw???

The only reason I am making this thread is because after numerous times asking how to use UCCW in the themes thread I have got no responses... My only question is if someone that knows how to use the app if they were willing to maybe make a tutorial video on how to use it?? I know that your supposed to make a fonts folder and put it on root of sd card but i dont know where to put everything else i just need to know what folders i need to make and where to put them.. I tried messing around with UCCW and downloaded the starter pack themes and icons i got the icons to work but everytime i tried selecting a weather image root explorer would say granted permission but nothing happened in UCCW... Could someone please help with this topic??? I am in dire need.. HAHA Thanks in advance!!!

[Q] How to make a cwm recovery flashable zip for random apps

I keep flashing the roms a lot and have to install a couple of apps again and again,
which has been very annoying.
Is there a method to make a CWM flashable zip such as "gapps package"
Lets say these are the apps i want to turn into a single flashable zip
whatsapp,
Google Translate,
AirDroid,
Scan
I looked at threads but they were mostly for other phones, cant find anything specific for SGS 3 I9300
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1721680
Can I use the above method and where should i place the apks in the system folder?
Hi mate,
Just give the apks ,I will make a flashable package for you.
Have a look at how others have made them, it's not that hard to work out.
But who has made it? How was it made?
could you point me to so called "others"
@mk256
I appreciate your help, but
would you let me know how its done because i have a long list of apps?

Virtually any flashable zip will do, all you need to do is edit the updater-script and put all the apps in the right place. Then sign the zip and flash it.
I think you are looking for something like this:
