i know spare parts will turn off the 4 buttons, but it still does haptic feedback when dragging an app. So I think there is no way to stop it. You will just have to live with it. I like haptic feedback because I know my phone is responding to me lol

[Q] app to lock proximity sensor?

I really want an app to lock proximity sensor on (so screen off during a call) until home button pressed, or something like that. Lately I have been having a lot of calls disconnected or accidentally placed on hold, and I think an app like this would be fantastic.
Anyone know of any?
You dont need an app this is easy to do, while in a call just press home so your on the "desktop" then just press the lock button. The screen now wont turn on regardless of the sensor

So, whats your fav lost feature?
I know I have posted a lot of these in the tips/tricks, but its been a year.. some are old and forgotten. Could be new to people. Maybe there are new Tricks since I made that guide.

The thing with numbers I think its called dial pad but you put in a sequence of numbers and you can actually talk to your friends. That's pretty cool.

Hold upper-right corner (around clock, battery, signal icons) - the screen brightness goes to 100%
Swiping the letters to get specific artist names in songs to the music player. Swipe it while swiping it and you'll get and even more in depth search..

Long press of back button to quickly back out of several pages. Handy on XDA app as well as browser.

Haptic Feedback ?

Anyone know how to disable haptic feedback ? Disabled in setting but stilll vibrated on text entry.. I do not like typing like this.....
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA App
In setting go to language and keyboard, touch input, then text input. In that area you should see a setting to turn off the haptic feedback.

Also in :sound: vibrate feedback: turn this one off and the other one already posted and your good to go.

Is there a way to get call controls in notification area on CM9?

I'm using CM9 and during a call, there are no options to mute, hang up, hold, or anything else in notification tray. This is the one thing I loved about the Samsung variant of Android. Do I simply need to install a dialer app from Google Play to get this functionality, or is there a feature in CM9 to enable this?
Can anyone help me get this functionality? Thanks in advance.
What would be the point all those buttons are on the in call screen in ICS?

If you are multitasking outside of the phone app while in speaker phone, isn't it pretty quick to pull down the notification tray and click the phone so the phone app opens (which has all the options), then just switch back to what you were doing? Doesn't even take 5 seconds to go from browser to phone, back to browser...
Although it would be a nice feature, it is not a necessary one.

No offense, but I didn't ask what you thought was necessary. I just want to see if anyone knows how to get what I want. I don't know why people are trying to talk me out of this

To start with, how about posting questions in q &a? Thread moved to q&a.

[Q] Seperate Ringer and Notification weirdness.

I find myself hitting a brick wall in the way Samsung chose to deal with volume control. It seems if you set the ringer off it forces notifications to be off as well. I can't overcome this behavior with Tasker
Does anybody here know how to get around this as Cyanogen may be some time in coming.
Even when u hit the volume key and tape the settings icon and adjust the ringer and notification volume, still does that?

That does work but the moment you set the ringer to off it just disables the notification volume as well and ghosts it so you can't change it. Under other roms you can have a seperate notification volume while the ringer is turned off.
Is there a way to over ride this with root?
I see what u mean. I don't think my s3 did this. This phone does a lot of things differently. I can't get lock screen Short cuts with any security enabled lock screen for example. Seems like "holes" in touch wiz
