Backup your 2.3.3 Install with xrecovery and flash your 2.1.1 Backup (presuming that you have done a backup of 2.1.1)
1. Search for the Keyboard.apk using Root Explorer
2. Copy the keyboard.apk file to you SD card
3. Re-store your 2.3.3 backup
4. Install the keyboard.apk using Root Explorer
If you haven't got a 2.1.1 backup then you are going to have to use SEUS to re-flash 2.1.1 and re-root and follow the instructions above.

[NewKeyboard] Android 2.3 Gingerbread Keyboard for WILDFIRE android 2.2

Hey guys I found a new thread of a new keyboard to our wildfire! ;D It's from Gingerbread(android 2.3), it is really nice and i decided to share to all that dont know it.
Tutorial:
Requirements
-Device must have root priveleges with Superuser
-Android 2.2 Froyo operating system
-The latest “Voice Search” application from the Android Market
-Make a backup of LatinIME.apk in system/app folder just in case!
Clock work mod and rom manager is needed but we are using wildfire and all of us use it so i wont put in requirements.
Bugs:
Vibrate on keypress doesn’t work(nice, don't eat my battery )
How to install:
Download the keyboard from here:
http://briefmobile.com/Fabolous_GBKB_Fix.zip (do not extract the files just copy the zip file how you download it)
Now connect your cellphone to computer and send the .zip file to your sdcard
Disconnect from computer, turn off phone or reboot into recovery(clock work mod) then install zip from sd card>choose zip and fla****/installIt!
Reboot phone and done! Go to messages and create a new message and you will see a new keyboard from Gingerbread(android 2.3)!
Tested and working with cyanogenmod 6.1.0 rc2.

I beg to differ, Vibrate on Keypress works 100% fine. I'm using OpenFire 2.3 ROM.
Anyways, this keyboard has some nice new settings. Me likey. Thanks a lot.
PS: Why is ROM Manager needed? I don't have it and it works fine.

No, no need to wipe, download a new nightly and install it like you did with the keyboard, (install zip from sd card>choose zip), nightly are updates no need to wipe just download it and install it withoutwipe unless you want to "format" your cellphone.

Android market 2.2.6 patched!

This is not my work. I just found this patched version on wildfire's forum and it works just fine with nfinity rom
Here is the original thread, if you have problems:

Anything for 1.6 like this?
Work fine on SPQRom -0.7
excellent, i'll download straight away
It says it cannot find build.prop. Is it not possible just to push it into /system/app ?
I get the same error on SP-FroYo ROM

Yes, just open the zip file and extract vending.apk
I get FC all the time on my Tattoo with SP-FroYo ROM
can't install it on nfinity froyo 1.15(can't find build.prop)
If you cannot flash it, open zip and find vending.apk, extract it and the push it or copy it(if you use a prog like android commander or android manager) to /system/app. Then reboot.
Thanks, it works perfectly! I deleted old vending.apk (after backup) and pushed the new one.
But i understand why it was not made for Tattoo, look at the screenshots.

I dont know why but it doesn't work for me on SPq ROM 0.7 and nFinity 0.15
I don't know about SPQRom, but I tested this on nfinity rom(1.13 and 1.15) and on kalimocho's latest version and works fine. Try to clear data for market from settings - applications.
It doesn't work because it's made with Wildfire build.prop someone has to put in our build.prop and resign it. I honestly don't know how to do it.
I can flash it without problems. I have clockwordmod recovery image for tattoo.
Anyway here is the patch with corrected build.prop
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10102232&postcount=37
working like charm
I have a 1722 result for video, up 200 from 1.82,
and it is very fast and nice on nfinity 1.15 OC to 710Hz
Cheers
Vuk
Just flashed it and FC
Any tips?
Latest Market running on Stock ROM 1.6 (donut)
Hi guys, apparently there's a version of the latest Market app that works on Tattoo with android 1.6, take a look at this post
I'm going to test it, hopefully it will work.
Regards!

I have resigned the latest patched (v2.2.7) market (source) using tattoo build.prop.
Have confirmation of working on Tattoo cm6.1 roms, but on sense froyo needs data and cache wipe after flashing the update
here is the link for the post

Xrecovery with offline charging

NOTICE: This isn't my work. I've just followed this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=963162 to make it work on X8
All thanks goes to zdzihu for xrecovery and offline charging fix and to genyt and weissgold for their guide
For stock 2.1.1.A.0.6 firmware (don't work with custom roms):
Installation:
1. root phone
2. install Busybox
3. download xrecovery with offline charging.zip
4. extract archive to SD Card
5. with Root Explorer put extracted files to /system/bin
Or install latest xRecovery with FlashTool 0.2.8
For custom roms you also need the files in /system/etc/semc/chargemon/ from stock ROM.

just asking...does it makes stuck on boot?(offline charging for floyo 0.15)...sorry if i ask this thanks before mate...
progress : after installed my phone get force close all app...i use offline charging floyo 0.015 on my floyo
Don't know where is problem. For me it runs ok
i have follow the instruction clearly...or it should be install the xrecovery files first from the attachment(that seems x10 xrecovery..if i'm not wrong) and then copy those floyo offline charging files?...for you it runs ok,but not on my phone.so wierd isn't it?
Yes it is weird. You don't need to install xrecovery it is preinstalled in floyo. You only need to put chargemon and charger to /system/bin and semc folder to /system/etc
yep...that was i'm doin' as your instructions...twice i try and unsucsessfull, the x recovery can't runs when i pressing the back button on booting...
fully working on stock 2.1.1.A.0.6 THANKS!

I don't warranty this, use at your risk
Best way is to find stock keyboard in forum & install or flash it.
2nd solution :
Grab "Latin ime " from a deodexed rom (root/system /app / Latin ime. Apk )
#if Latin ime.odex exist so rom is odexed, you must deodex it or try another rom
Install extracted .apk like normal app.
->If you wanna make it as a system app so you must clear dalvik cache too.(if any problems pm me, cause there are more important things that u must know)

hello,
can you point me to the right direction?
i extracted latinime.apk and touchpal.apk from a stock rom (android 2.2.1 for Huawei U8150) both with an odex file, tried to:
- install touchpal (the keyboard i want) as a normal apk with no luck
- copy it to /system/app then reboot, no luck,
- universal deodexer v3 to deodex the apk, something went wrong 'cause i got some "0 files were copied" messages from it so... no luck
can you tell me what am not doing right? i dont want the market version of TouchPal since it doesn't has the 12-key layout, so i want to extract this stock rom keyboard

You copy touchpal.apk and touchpal.odex to system/app and set the permissions to 644 (rw-r-r). There may be additional files you may need to get language settings etc, which could be in system/usr and even maybe a lib or two in system/lib. But try it as i said first

Done
- files copied to /system/app (using total commander with root permission)
- permissions changed to 644 using a terminal emulator (in the phone)
- rebooted
Result:
- not showing yet under the language & keyboard settings
- not listed as an avaible keyboard on text boxes (when you hold the finger over and input method option shows)
What's the next step?

Hi Ronjan,
"ckpv5" has provided a well thought out guide to use his rom. Just go to this link.
Look at the 3rd point on the "Notes" section. You can install recovery for your flashing and once done, you can install the boot.img again and boot to your rom.
By the way apk installed fine on my mobile.
4.2 Keyboard works fine for me, way better than stock HTC keyboard.
