I can't find a way to install Cyanogenmod and now my phone is bricked, but that's no problem I can work that out.
But I have installed maybe 100 times a ROM and it almost everytime works, but I can't install Cyanogenmod8 V7.0, V7.5, V7.5 Hotfix 1.
I've tried it many times but I can't get it to work.
I also swiped everything that had that option in xRecovery but I ALWAYS get a boot loop at SE logo.
Before I tried to install Cyanogenmod8 V7.0 I had Cyanogenmod8 V6.5 installed that worked like a charm.
However, it costs some time and work to update with SEUS, flash, root, install xRecovery manually, install a custom ROM etc. so I want to know what ROM the best is to install before you install Cyanogenmod8 V8.0
Aparently, you can't install Cyanogenmod8 V8.0 from either 6.5, 7, 7.5 and 7,5 with hotfix installed.
Btw, my MD5 hash matched the ones people in the topic posted.
Thanks in advance!
A few things:
1) It's not called Cyanogenmod 8 (that would be Cyanogenmod based on an Android kernel that hasn't been released yet).
2) The safest way to install a ROM is by getting the lastest official ROM from Sony (through SEUS) and then flashing your ROM.
3) Are you sure you're following the instructions??....most if not all reboot loops are caused by people not following the instructions.
you need the baseband and kernel that are listed in the first post otherwise new build will just cause bootloop

I Owain,
I believe that can be the cause why I cannot update CM7v.6 to CM7v.8!
I have currently CM7v.6 with:
Smallbandversion: M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404006
Kernel-version: 2.6.29
So the last 2 digits are different, it should be:
Smallbandversion: M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404015
Kernel-version: 2.6.29
But why I am abble to install CM7v.6 and not CM7v.8?
How can I upgrade Smallbandversion to the correct?
Thanks

Thanks Owain!
But where can I find the last Baseband?
Can you please add the file to the CM7 thread and a small explanation how to update it?
As soon as I do it I will report it here.
Rgs.
Well I think I understand how to do it!
Need only 3 steps to change baseband for X10 Mini Pro:
1 - Download specific Baseband file for your X10 Mini Pro
Basebands for X10 Mini Pro (still looking for U20a firmwares)
2 - Download last FlashTool application
[TOOL] [UPDATE 22/03/2011] Flashtool BETA version 0.2.9.1
3 - Install baseband using Flashtool
[FLASHTOOL GUIDE] HOW TO for n00bies
Owain, wich file I need to use for my X10 mini pro pt-pt?
The one from step 1 or one from step 3?
Thanks

Hello guys,
I have a problem trying to install the custom rom from rendeiro2005
I rooted my phone, backed up everything using xRecovery. I have also changed my baseband to 2.1.55
When I try to install my rom with xRecovery it says that i need to switch my script from amend to Edify, but I don't have any idea how I am supposed to do that.
Is it a problem with my phone or is it just the rom which isn't correct for my phone?
my specs:
Model: x10i
firmwareversion: 2.1-update 1
baseband 2.1.55
kernel version 2.6.29 [email protected]#1
build-number 2.1.A.0.435
I hope you guys would be nice to help me out , because I'm fairly new to this stuff.
Niek
you have X Recovery V1.0 ! That only uses Edify Scripts.
Most custom ROM?s here are AMEND scripts, so you need to install XRecover V0.3
this might sound very dumb, but where do i get 0.3 xrecovery, I indeed downloaded 1.0 auto-installer but I can nowhere find the 0.3-release
Edit: never mind guys, I got it.
I am going to root and flash a buddies phone later this afternoon to a generic 2.1.58 release and install Cyanogen 6.1.3 wit the Gingerbread Theme on a buddies phone later this afternoon. But I have a question.
So that I don't have to go through trial and error, is there a specific version of xRecovery I have to have installed?
I am looking at this -
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1110998
Do I use the one for 2.1 or 2.2 or the one for all...2.1/2.2/2/3?
And for me to install the 2.2....do I install 2.1, then apply the 2.2 hotfix?
I can't remember what I have loaded on my phone.
From the thread you linked:
[*] AS ZDZIHU IS CURRENTLY INVESTIGATING THE ISSUES IN xRecovery v1.0.0 and removed links in his thread... I advise you to kindly wait for some time before trying out this new Recovery[*]
Use 0.3, its all you need right now. When xrecovery 1.0 is stable they will release a new flashtool that has it.
Anywho, why not just use flashtool to do all of that?
-Get flashtool and flash the stock firmware you want (new ones are 2.1
-Use flashtool to install xrecovery version 0.3.
-Put the correct baseband for your desired rom
-flash your rom/cm settings and any baseband fixes
I somehow lost the ability to dual touch.
It started after I installed a Mini rom by accident. I used the sony recovery and that fixed the phone. However my dual touch never came back.
I have tried diff roms and even the manual install "insmod" with with cy8ctma300_ser.ko but no luck!
Any other ideas?
Baseband: M76xx-TSNCJOLYM-53404015
Kernel: 2.6.29
Rom: MiniCM7 Pro - V6
Build: 5.3.5.V.6

You would be best looking for slade87 in on his home page you will find some info
Ok bro

Hi I have a problem with my wifi connection x 10 mini pro with all Stock (Kernel and ROM) Android 2.1 the problem is that when I connect via wifi, it connects well and without any problem, but seeing videos on youtube stops loading the video, if it is a 4-minute video at 2 minutes and stops if it's 8 minutes or 4 minutes more stops, the same happens with TuneIn, worked perfect before and listened to the transmission of the radion without any problem, but now stops and starts charging the buffer time to time ... As could solve this problem? there is any application or in any way? I hope I can help, Many Thanks!
guide to unlock and update x10mini pro
I recommend miniCM7 kernel and rom from NaA
if you have baseband update, the rest is very easy
Requirements
Code:
1.- Updated Baseband
2.- Bootloader unlocking
1.-Search for update baseband to the exact model, U20i does not equal the U20A
if you install a firmware for another device, you may lose the 3G signal
Dowload de Flashtool and install
Code:

Download de correct firmware/baseband and flash it
Search forum or try this - [URL="http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1125587&highlight=baseband"]FlashTool + 2.1.1.A.0.6 .ftf bundle[/URL]
Update baseband and firmware version, and try if resolved the wifi problem.
2.- this post for unlocking Bootloader
Code:

[URL="http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...77&postcount=3"]http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...77&postcount=3[/URL]
the S1Tool is for check your device - Read before unlock
[ATTACH]1243903._xfImport[/ATTACH]
this file for UNLOCK [ATTACH]1243902._xfImport[/ATTACH]
extract all file in folder, and [B]run msm7227_semc.cmd[/B]
At this point, if all are OK :good:, you have update baseband, and unlock bootloader :good:
now, you can try any custom kernel and ROM for best perfomance
minicm7
Code:
[B]1.-install kernel for [URL="http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1415012"]minicm7 PRO by nAa[/URL] [/B]
[url]http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1415012[/url]
flash this kernel (.ftf) file, with Flashtool
[B]2.-install the rom minicm7 PRO by nAa[/B]
[url]http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1415026[/url]
[B]Rom stock style, if you preferer original style[/B]
[url]http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1652113[/url]
this for mod miniCM7
Good Luck

I didn't like how your request sound, but going to try and help.
for 2.1 I think that stock is stable, what you should do, is root it, install a recovery, and a app2sd or link2sd.
so you can check this thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1682966 for that.
and in this thread you can see a few topics about the x10mp. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=944569
this one is a 2.1 rom and the download link is still alive. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1206625
i think that with this you could get a 2.1 rom with all the things. personally I would just flash a custom kernel, and 2.3GB rom
