Original Sony Ericsson Style on cyanogen mod! - Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini

Is it possible to make a cyanogen mod rom look like the sony ericsson original rom???

Yes, it's possible. But it is the hard work. Would you do it?

i'm not a developer so i can't do it!

it's a good idea though!

why should someone want to do that? if they like SE then they should stick to SE

I like that beacause i want froyo with sony ericsson original style!!!

+1 for the idea. I also wanna use a newer ROM with the same SE style.

Hmmm... satya164, I agree with you

I tried to replace the framework-res.apk, but my phone stuck on the boot animation!

The filenames are not all the same in framework, but with some renaming the original SE files according to cyanogen ones should work.
I have returned to original SE ROM because the cyonagen is soo ugly, stock android is bad for our small screens. The most visible is at top bar where on SE everithing is big and clear (hour, batery stat, wi-fi and other simbols) and on cyonagen bareley you could see something.
Until now I replaced the small and blurry font with Sony fonts. Maybe when 2.3.3 finaly will be bugfree and fully functional I will work on this.
My experience is with cyonagen 7 (2.3.3)

No, if we want we must develop it ourself and do something into the OS.

Yes, of course.

Guys stop speculating or giving out wrong info...
Try swapping images in the framework-res.apk and not the framework-res.apk

Well it is possible to change framework-res.apk but you willcertainly need to swap a ****load of stuff.
Pushing framwork.jarm android-testrunner alot of libs.
In the end the question is will you lose the changes from the newer version an in the end endup with the same old crap again

is it too difficult? or do you just use say, Font Changer, with the font files?
if so, can you point me to a download link for the fonts?

+ 1
i also want that

It is possible. Did some mod just now. And notification icon works. And some system apps icon. Some frame and kinda looks like x10 mini. Then killed my sister's android after some more mods.

[Theme] All black

Since I got my Arc, the blueish theme has annoyed me, so I decided to make a monochrome version.
All black backgrounds, all grayscale frames.
One of few things (that I know of) that still is light blue is the progressbar.
The CRT-off animation is included.
Edit: This is now replaced by http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=14836449#post14836449

As far as I know and have tested it's black in landscape, yes. But since I just made this yesterday, I may definitely have missed a few things.
Please report back what's not black/gray so I can improve.

Sorry, I forgot to upload SemcGenericUxpRes.apk. Added now.
Some of the pictures are in SemcGenericUxpRes.apk and some in framework-res.apk so both files are needed.
I also tried landscape and it certainly works for me (all things I tested), but of course I may have missed something.

The other adds my circular battery mod.

Hmm. It's possible. This update.zip replaces your framework-res.
If the one in that theme is significantly different from the standard framework, it could cause issues.
But, there's always a way! If you could share your framework-res.apk we can put the transitions and battery animation on it. :-D
Sent from my U20i using XDA App
Ok. My framework-res in attach files.
and if u can, create 2 versions plz. 1st - with transitions only and 2nd - transitions+battery.
Thx a lot.
Well, artistically it's a very nice theme and I give the original themer 10 out of 10 for it.
From a technical perspective though, they only get 1. When they put it together, they didn't include any .9 patches in the .9 png's. Which basically means it won't compile, even before you start to think about modifying it.
I think I've fixed it though. Try the attached and let us know if it works out for you.

Well, two possible ways really.
You could either follow this guide here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=849223. This tells you how to start theming your phone and is very helpful but can take a while to get the hang of it.
Or..I could do it for you. All you need to do is share your framework-res.apk file.

Changing the background image of a theme?

hi guys!
I have an xperia mini st15i, stock rom (rooted ICS), locked bootloader. I would like to change the background image of a theme...(settings-display-theme)...how can I do that? Thanks

No, when it comes to modding and theming your Phone not everything can be done with a simple app.
You can change or modify your defaultthemes.apk in system/app

Unless you're going to publish a theme that contains other Peoples work then you don't necessarily need to ask for permission to use things from different ROMS to make your own personal ROM.

i only mean: editid an png with piant/photshop is easier than edithing it in xml's (like some jb have) its allmost more code.
also in comparement to ICS/CM9 4.2.2 theming is real harder and there not so many TuT's out there - tried several times - its hard
i have a bunch of unsolved questions about this - but not for ICS...
..so if nobody tells me & cant find solution = i dont get it solved/work.
so yes in my oppinion it is REAL HARDER if i see it from NOW ....

yes tried it allready (with simplex, other on ics) but the apk's didnt install allways get cant install apk or parsing problem.. dunno if its signing or sth..
also just to make an example: if i theme and need edit more ressorces like xml's (had ast problems with progress bar) there only very few threads about thus if it is sth special like editng size and behaiviour of UI components is impossible for me (wanna edit download apk from cm10.1 to only delete it from this apk screen; not to delete whole file )
theres allways a pointm in most of my work where i have no idea (also no idea what to do to learn it..),
but thanks for ur valuable response (but out of 8 :silly will keep up moving forward in my knowledge as godd as i can, at least thats all what i can do...

This is all part of the learning curve. You need to make sure you've changed the right images but even then just because you change what you think is the right image in the framework or SystemUI doesn't mean it's right and it could be in another apk, Phonebook, Conversations etc, or it might be that you've not recompiled correctly.
For example, the sliders, the check boxes that appears on Settings, Status Bar and other apps are localized in?
i decompiled the Xperia Z Theme for CM10.1 and the images change the framework. Am I correct?
