SGSII 32gb model Cancelled? - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

At first samsung mentioned, about the availability of 2 models, 16 and 32gb versions. Then slowly over time, i stopped even hearing about the 32gb model. is it possible the 32gb model is cancelled or maybe delayed?
Who knows they increased the cpu to 1.2ghz so people dont complain about the lack of 32gb variant. Anyone can chime in.

It's still listed on their Samsung Galaxy SII microsite, even after they updated the photow last week. I have no doubt that you will see a 32gb variant though it is looking to be that the 16gb will be out first.

I would go further and guess the 32 GB version will be released the day iPhone5 is released.

I'm pretty sure the 32gb is still in the minds of Samsung. Guess its safe to play safe and wait 'till June when the iP5 comes out.

I wonder if the 16GB is costing this much, what will the 32GB version cost.
Perhaps like Apple, they will add another $100.00 to the price tag.

Edit...
Double Post.

A lot of people are speculating that iPhone 5 won't be out until September...

Then I think this would be a perfect time for Samsung to push out the 32GB version in the market in July, to capture those customers who have not purchased the 16GB version. I am sure the price will be reduced to match the cost set at launch of the 16GB version.

Samsung Galaxy S II price and availability?

How much will SGS2 cost? When will it be available i stores in Europe?
Considering LG Optimus 2X or SGS2. Will of course depends on when SGS2 comes and how much it costs.
Edit:
04.03.2011: I've talked to Samsung Nordic, and they said that they expected the phone to be released in may.
Expansys have it priced up the 16GB model at £649.99 with a release date of April 18th:
Expansys.co.uk - Samsun Galaxy S II
But Handtec on the other hand display both a 16GB model and a 32GB model, the 16GB at £515.99 and the 32GB at £635.99, so I am assuming Expansys has incorrectly given the 32GB price to the 16GB model. Handtec have not released a date, but are taking pre-orders.
Handtec.co.uk - Samsung Galaxy S II 16GB
Handtec.co.uk - Samsung Galaxy S II 32GB
Pricey, but there is a lot of new, expensive tech in there (SAMOLED+ 4.3" screen, dual core CPU, 1GB RAM e.t.c) so I am not surprised. I personally am waiting for it to come out on contract, and although a couple of carriers have announced it (Three is the only one I remember), no one has announced dates or prices yet. Three have said it will be available on the One plan.
US Release?
Does anyone have any idea when it is coming the the US? On which carriers, how much, and when?????????????

i wouldn't wait for the USA release
i'll just buy it direct from Handtec.co.uk is a well trusted company
just like expensive... erhhh i mean expansives
I've ordered mine from Clove in the UK 440 pounds, since I don't have to pay VAT. Now the long wait until April/May...
Thanks l0st.prophet, i think now iam done comparing sgs2 and atrix.
I go for sgs2, handtec will probably get my money
Does anyone have an expectation when it will come to europe? Will it be released in Europe simultaneous?

they'l ship it to the us????? whats the with and without vat mean? (I know that vat is a tax, but do i have 2 pay it) basically which price will i be paying for the 16 gb from handtec and will they ship it 2 the us? will i be able to get android updates in the us if it is a uk phone? Will it have a carrier branding? (i no that its unlocked) will it be a stock touchwhiz 4.0 with no carrier crap?
last few times i purchased stuff online from UK i was charged the VAT even though they were not supposed to
i buy a lot of biking stuff online, and electronics
does anyone know any good korean retailers that ship these phones worldwide? (canada)
I hear the international sgs2 will work on bell/rogers/telus out of the box, that and the koreans seem to pay less for their gadgets.
i paid $500 canadian for the first sgs so paying £614 doesn't sound too appealing
Yes the galaxy s II will work on aT&t, rogers, etc.
It supports 850, 900, 1900 and 2100 MHZ HSDPA bands, which is sexy.
put one in my shopping cart at handtec.. just about to pull the button to order.. i am in the u.s.a showing no vat. 446.89 pounds with 2 day shipping to the u.s
i got the original galaxy s i had from them (no u.s. 3g unlike this one) and it worked fine and i sold it on ebay for about 5 bills.. not too bad loss.
pulled the trigger.. now the wait
Just confirmed purchase on handtec for the 16gb version...so excited. This should complement my samsung focus nicely
Engadget said it's supposed to be available this month. They said UK released date was leaked and is March 5th.
But who knows, maybe this is completely wrong. I hope not. It's now or never...literally. If it ain't coming out soon I have to choose something else.
Samsung hubs
THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!!! I live in the US and want to buy the Galaxy S II. Is there some store that I can buy it at for around $500 (like $600 max)??????? (THATS USD, NOT POUNDS!!!) I want to buy it unlocked and sim free. Any ideas????????????????????????
Also, if I buy the international version, then use it in the US, will ALL the hubs work? How will I receive updates if I'm in the US?

I have been trying to find some sort of verified info on availability over here in France, but could not find any, does anyone know anything about it ?
I am sure that Sammy is in the process of tying the knot with the like of SFR, Orange & co over it, and I have the feeling that it is going to take forever (at leat 2 months) before putting my greedy hands on one.

It will probably cost $550 like the unsubsidized price of the T-mobile Vibrant at their store when it first came out. I don't think it will go over $600.

This version is Orion, Tegra version if it exists has a different model number (think it was i9103).

updates you get via here o samsungfirmwares anyway.. as for price 446 lbs comes out to about 723 with shipipng.. with current xchange range. you will have to buckle up and pay if you want it early or wait.. probably will eventually be avail. for around 600 .. that is what sgs currently costs.

[Q] Why launching of the 64GB, and maybe 32GB, later than the 16GB?

I don't understand the reason why Samsung, like others, launches the higher capacity devices later than the smaller one.
Is this a marketing thing or a production thing?
If it's a marketing thing I don't understand what they gain of it, and if it is a production issue, I can't understand why it so difficult to make different devices at the same time. The difference in the device itself is small and the packaging can't be that hard to differenciate?

It has to do with the operators.
All the operators offer contracts with a low monthly cost accompanied by high end devices.
When the hype is still high the operators want to commit you for like 2 years with a contract that has a low monthly fee and in order to keep that fee low the device has to be the cheapest possible.
It's rather hard to find cheap contracts with high end devices on their highest capacities. They started doing that with the iPhone and they continue with every brand.
Until the hype is calmed the factories are focusing on production of the cheapest devices because its obvious they are gonna have higher demand(most people dont even know what GigaByte means) since the operators manage to give away good deals with internet and even free calls including the phone.

Thanks, sounds reasonable.
But still, the operators could still offer 16GB with a contract, and operators and others 32/64GB SIM free devices?

I don't think that operator locked devices will have capacities higher than 16GB.
The first wave of phones will mainly be operator locked(hence the contract).
Then the SIM-Free version of 32 and 64 GB will eventually come but right know my guess is that Samsung wants to cover the demand from the operators worldwide first and then move to the unlocked phones.
Either way an android device is unlockable much easier than an iPhone so...
Because probably as always with samsung devices they will never launch 32 and 64gb devices even if they say yes on press releases.
My take is they no people will opt for 32 or 64 so by releasing the 16 first itl help them sell a lot more 16s as people just cant wait and buy just to have

Hi!
Sadly there seem to be some truth to this statement. Look at the Galaxy Note. It was originally promised available in 16 & 32 gig versions as well. Handtec actually has it "due in soon"
http://www.handtec.co.uk/product.php/5587/samsung-galaxy-note--32gb--sim-free-unlocked--blue-
32 Gig SGN has been "due in soon" for a long time. Evidently the term "soon" covers everything between "now" to "never" including both.
What i don´t understand is the reason for making a firm promise when you might end up reconsidering. Wouldn´t it be better to present the product "as is" and state something like "higher capacity devices might follow later".
If i preordered the 32 gig version, waited 3-6 months, and then finally was told that the device wouldn´t be available after all due to "manufacturer reconsidering". I might tend to have eehh-- a somewhat less than positive opinion of said manufacturers truthfullness

I hadn´t seen that but it might very well be true. This illuminates the "meat of the matter" Samsung proudly annunces a 32 GB version at the original product presentation and then cancels somewhere "down the road".
Sadly this behavior is self-amplifying. Look at the SGSIII. why would you want to wait for a 32/64 GB version when you can be fairly sure it´ll never hit the shelves anyway, regardless of nice and pretty promises at the presentation. Subsequently if sales statistics show that the market is saturated with the 16 GB version because the potential customers knew the 32/64 GB versions were "made of hot air", then there is no feasible basis for production and Samsung "regrettably cancelles - so sorry".

I know, it really sucks and is annoying. I ordered the 16GB version because I just can't wait. I guess the 32GB will be a Vodafone exclusive and then after that there will be 32GB unbrandeds on the way, but nobody knows when...
I've bought a 64GB SDXC so 16GB should be enough. I don't listen to music using my phone anyway, I have a separate player for that.
I'm guessing that the 64GB version of the SGS3 might pop up sooner or later (my money is on later) and my personal guess is that when/if it is released, it will come in black. I'm not holding my breath though, and I'm definitely not waiting for it. I don't think very many will wait for it, and I think Samsung knows that, and to me it feels like the risk of them cancelling it is pretty big.

SGS5 with 32gb of int storage ?

Called T-Mobile looking for the 32gb version of the SGS5. The only version is the 16gb for pre-order when I called. Does anyone have any info about the 32gb version being available from T-Mobile. I want this phone but not with only 16gb of int storage. I thought I had seen an article with the 32gb version being available for the US market. This is a joke as far as I am concerned, today's new phones need more than 16gb of int storage, IMO the phone shouldn't even be made with that little amount of storage. It costs pennies to add storage while under construction, 16gb is pathetic and after a very short time the phone will start getting laggy as hell. No Thanks, 32gb or I will have to go HTC One M8. I really like the Samsung products, I have the Note 3 and am very happy with it but always looking to go new.
I preordered at the store, telling them that I wanted the 64gb version. Ended up getting the 16gb shipped to me. Called 611 and asked about why the 64 wasn't sent and the rep said they don't have the 64 and have no current plans for it either. I called again later tonight and got the same answer from the 800 number.

HTC? NOOOOOOO....if you want 32gb and worried about having enough RAM, go Note 3.... 3gigs of RAM. Nothing can touch it. I too am disappointed about the 16gb on the s5. It's a joke. Anyway, for the love of phones, don't go HTC. It's like going from a Mercedes to a Ford.

I think Samsung is holding out for the rumored "Prime" version... that would explain the missing 32GB models on launch. If you look at their product release calendar June would be an opportune time to release such a product; and there is already a mystery galaxy device that benchmarks have popped up for that has 3GB of RAM and isn't the N4. We shall see....
Indeed, the prime "will" be awesome. Please let it be 3 gigs lol.

Thanks, I guess I'll wait and maybe after a month the 32gb model will be available. One can only hope, I'm just a big Samsung fan. Have owned all the SGS and the Note 3. Love my Note 3 with 32gb of int storage. The phone is a beast. Really like the new look of the SGS5, more rectangular than the SGS4 and the finger scanner is a go. Thanks Again.

Good stuff, hang in there. I'm also on the fence of going over to the Prime when it releases. I love the N3, by far the most powerful currently, but I miss having a phone sized phone. I do love the phablet though and it's hard to go away from the screens real estate. It's priceless...

Verizon s4 32gb?

I was bored and looking on the Samsung website and I saw in the phone area that it shows that there is a white version of the Verizon s4 in a 32gb. I was just wondering if they sell it anywhere or was that just a generic post on Sammys part.

I may be wrong but I don't think Verizon carries them...I believe they are 32 GB s4s set up for Verizon that you have to purchase at full price from samsung
Ok I'm kinda thought so. I don't get why they don't have different options on the space size like apple but what can you do. It love my sammy. I would be better off getting the s5 play edition for that kind of money. Lol

Agreed. I bought my gs4 when it launched and only the 16gb was available at the time. Come to find out actual usable free space was closer to 9 gb which is why I am at odds with samsung right now. I love my phone, but need a 32 gb internal storage phone at the minimum! Using a 64 gb external sd card only goes so far as most app data is still stored on internal memory. At a crossroads here.
Sent from my Gs4...... Hyperdriven
Agreed! I love my sammy but as you say 16 internal is becoming obsolete as del or cds. The note 3 came with 32gb and it's not the flagship or "the next big thing" so why would it get the bigger storage.

Went to pre-order on the Samsung website and it's only showing the 128GB version available. Spoken to Samsung on Live Chat and apparently it's the only version available in the UK?!
Probably not sure when it will be available here in Australia but I am really excited if I end up picking this up I may start work on getting a device tree and twrp built and work on developing custom roms.
i preordered the plus version yesterday in germany with 256 gb but wifi only. will i see if i can support some custom roms for it i think good base is what jesec was doing for s20

I talked with samsung and the biggest e-commerce in norway. I was told that for some countries it takes some time before the 256gb model is available. According to Komplett.no it should be available here in norway soon for preorder
I pre-order yesterday the S7+ 128GB Wifi Black by the Samsung site in the Netherlands.
I was looking forward to ordering the S7+ with 4G/5G with 8GB and 256GB storage but guess what? It's not available in the UK only the 6GB 128GB model which is inferior to my Tab S6 so I'm going to pass on this model which is a shame. What is wrong with Samsung UK?!!!
Same here - I won't be buying one in the UK until Samsung release the 8GB RAM version. I imagine that may never happen, though, as they never released the higher spec Tab S4 in the UK either.
This will bring me back to sammy after Huawei screwed its US based customers on the M5 series. My prior device was the Note Pro, and i loved it, but no new support and ROMs were iffy.
I've been holding on to my Pro 12.2 for years now and just sold it on Ebay. I'll use the proceeds to order my S7+ once it is available in the US. I wonder if Samsung will give a trade in allowance for the S4, which is a great tablet.
Pre ordered the s7+ 8gb 256 gb with the keyboard cover for just 1034 euro. The original book cover comes free with this tab as a promtion in the Netherlands.
It is available now in the US to be reserved on samsung.com, looks like the only incentive is a $35 instant credit for accessories. I definitely want it but want to see if anyone else has better offers
Just put in my pre-order for the wifi 128 gb Plus in grey. They also offered a $300 Trade in for my Sprint S4 and a small military discount which will go toward taxes.
Since it's just a sign up for a pre-order, there's no downside to ordering and then not completing the order if you find a better deal elsewhere.
I'm trading in my tab s6 and getting 450 for it, I only spent 500 when I bought it so i'm happy. Reserved tab s7+ 256 mystic silver for 408$. Tbh I'm still a little worried about the size. 10.5 inches was already BIG though I did get used to it. Hope I get used to the s7+ as well.
I'm sure we will get a pre order bonus, I just wish it was coming out sooner. Sucks we have to wait so much longer than in the US.
Just saw on Samsung's website, least from the US side $300 credit on a Trade in for the S4...
Truly hoping I can get the 256GB model here before the end of the month at Best Buy (release supposedly Friday). Get 10% off the device then can just sell the S4 out right.
pre order the bronze s7+ tab in Singapore. only delivering from 7th September. black one started delivering
I have ordered the S7+ in bronze. Due for delivery today ?
Really looking forward to it. Hope the increase in size isn't overbearing but it's smaller (just) than my surface pro so it should be ok.

Isn't it a free book cover? ie not the keyboard cover?
I'm also getting mine tomorrow (Monday) and I also made the mistake of thinking the pre-order gift was the Keyboard Cover as well but nope it's just the Book Cover so I'll probably end up going for the Game Pack as the pre-order gift and then maybe buy the Urban Armor Gear Metropolis Protective Case for the S7+ instead. There really aren't that many decent cases out for the S7+ yet, I'm seeing plenty for the S7 but not many for the S7+ so the Urban Armor Gear case is the most decent one I've seen so far. £70 though which is about the same price as the Book Cover would be.
