Help bringing Gtab to Stock - G Tablet Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

HI All,
Can you please lead me the right direction as to where i can get details to bring back my Gtab to stock.. I have CWmod 8 so i would need to get rid of that as well so not sure which route is the best. If i can get the stock firmware and just load it via CWm or NVflash. Also if i do Nvflash and experience reboots how can i get out of that.
Thanks in advance for all your help

EVERYONE SHOULD SETUP NVFlash NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been reading around for a while now, and noticed a lot of ppl soft-brick there device and are asking devs for help. I have noticed a lot of issues revolve around people trying to hop form on ROM to another.
A very easy way to recover from any sort of brick(or issue) is to use nvFlash. Its is very easy to setup and use and I highly recommend that everyone should setup nvFlash. You can find the guide on how to set it up from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=861950
I think after the update last night a lot of people will brick there devices trying to mod it, and nvFlash will help you recover. I think we can really help out the dev if we all learn how to use nvFlash, because then they wont have to ans to alot of the support issues that keep coming up, and it will free up some of there time which they can use to create newer roms that will work with the new update.
If for some reason you follow that guide and are not scussefull in setting up nvFlash, then feel free to leave me a pm and i'll help you set it up.
Good post!!
You absolutely right because most of them (especially new users) won't take time to read stuff about the new update, which will in most cases soft brick the tab when coming from a non stock rom.
So yea they all should have Nvflash setup, just in case
Great advice.
I was messing around with Vegan Ginger the other night and wound up borking my gTab. Followed the instructions in that thread and had no problem using NVFlash to get everything back to normal.
Noob here Hi!
I Actually used the NVFlash yesterday to clear up some issues i was having. it works well and was easy to use.
Some how i screwed up my copy of Clockworkmod. When ever i attempted to flash any Custom ROM it would just sit at the view sonic boot screen...Although TNTLite always flashed with no issue.
I used NVFlash to get back to defaults then updated to 3588 then Reflashed CWM. Now I am able to load Vegan
Thanks for the post i think it will be helpfull for us N00Bz

Actually, you probably didn't screw anything up. Some Gtabs have a partitioning issue (I had it) which is only corrected during nvflash. I was unable to install any ginger roms until I nvflashed. Worked like a dream after nvflash.

HELP!!!!

Anybody could post an update.zip stock rom, please?
I got my gtab stuck on apx (like tccrews had it) and I need an stock rom update.zip to apply a fix that I found posted here.
Thanks in advance.
Here you go, there's a link to 3588 in this post:
EDIT: Correct me if I'm wrong but if it's stuck in APX mode wouldn't you have to use NVFLASH to get it back to stock? If so then just follow the directions in the post listed below to NVFLASH your G-Tablet back to stock.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=861950.
More specifically here is the exact link to the download:
http://tapntap.http.internapcdn.net/tapntap/viewsonic/update-smb_a1002-3588-user.zip.
Just make sure and rename it.
Just because you could have found what you were looking for faster with less threads. Did you try and search for "3389" or "3588" on xda. I do usually every other day to provide the link you were looking for so I know it exists.
Naysses,
I will try to help you, but you are going to have to do a couple of things:
1. Do not post for help in any other threads any more. I think everyone knows you
were upset and desparate -- but it still is bad netiquette and only upsets people and
makes them angry.
2. I have several things for you to do that we have used in the past. It may take us
a day or two of back and forth. But you've got to do them exactly as requested. From
what I have read your PC and tablet must be a mess of software, so I'm going to
start from scratch.
Here's what you need to do:
1. First we've go to make sure you are set up right and have the right software available
and are doing that right. Following is the thread on NVFlashing back to bekit 1105, which
is stock Version 2638. I want you to erase all the NVFlash setup on your PC and then go
in and do this procedure from end to end exactly as it requests. It's
been done a zillion times and will work if your tab is not to messed up to flash right -- and
that's a possibility we will deal with when we get there:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=861950
Double check everything as you go and note any exceptions that might happen.
If this does not give us a workable setup, then we will look at NVFlashing CWM to
repartition and clean up your internal drive -- but don't even worry about that until
we see if a repeated, good flash will work.
Good Luck,
Rev
P. S. -- I know I'm being demanding and hard on you, but lots of people I help don't
do what is requested and waste my time and theirs. If your problem is like I think it
is we need to get it right! I'll check this thread early tomorrow to see how you
are doing.
Ur a good man Rev
I got stuck in APX mode before when using the (newer?) 152KB nvflash.exe when trying to reflash the stock image. With the 140KB nvflash.exe I re-ran the nvflash_gtablet.bat and it worked successfully. You do need the 152kb version to pull and back up the BCT, but I use the 140kb one when using the batch file to restore stock (with stock recovery)and haven't had issues getting stuck in APX since that switch.
ramerco,
Thanks for the warning and update.
However, if he will just stick with what I give him I know that works.
A bunch of people have been messed up trying to install the SDK and
ADB and all on top of the original Procedure roebeet wrote. Drivers
get messed up. Makes it tough in times like this.

Then use odin to install it on your phone

[Q] Download Mode help

I went in Odin from my stock Vibrant because I had lost my root. I tried to start over and tried to revert it back to stock, which lead to me getting the BSOD. I figured out how to get back into download mode, but I'm stuck in Odin now.
I'm in the stock rom...so I don't want to try and put that back into Odin. I just want to get back to having a stock phone so I can try and upgrade to 2.3.
So, I'm kind of in a situation where I don't know what exactly I need to do to get my phone back to working. I'm sorry if there's another topic like this but I couldn't find one, so I apologize in advanced if I totally missed it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=849028
Read that.
And at first I thought your phone had a BSOD
