[Q] Best way to stream music to older stereo receiver? - G Tablet Accessories

Have the Viewsonic G-Tab and finally got my music library loaded, and I am now looking to stream music from the tablet to my basic stereo receiver/speaker setup - currently the receiver doesn't have any wifi, bluetooth, etc capabilities. Just the old red wire/white wire connections.
Does anyone have a recommended accessory to stream music to it, via wireless, bluetooth or otherwise? I do have an Apple Airport Express, but it doesn't seem like that is a viable option.
Thanks!

it can be easily done ..
If you want to go wired, then just use the headphone output of your gtab to the stereo RCA input on your receiver.
Can be found at any dollar store or pick it up from ebay for $1 shipped

If you want to go wireless, you will need to use a BT adapter, connect it to the above cable (instead of directly using the gtab), then connect the gtab to it using bluetooth.
Here is one that is $20 shipped.
Hope that helps,

Best FM transmitter ever. I have had 2 of them in the last say 5 years. My original I gave to my parents when they got an android phone. But my wife got a new car with no aux port on it, so I picked up another one.

Wizard Speaker Cradle (For Music!!!)

I was browsing Expansys and found this.

I was wondering if anyone has one or if they have seen/heard one. My girlfriend wants a USB cradle for her Wizard and as it is only £4 more than just a cradle I thought "why not?". What I am interested in is the speaker quality for listening to music arround the house (away from the gooooood speakers). I don't think it would be a waste of money either way as it is still a cradle even if the speakers are absolute cricket droppings.
If I do get one I'll post an update, it looks likely though.
I've been looking to get my hands on something like that as well. Only places I've seen it so far have been outside of the US. If someone ever carries it in the US, I'm going to be all over it.. Would make for a nice radio replacement at my desk..
Expansys opperates in the US under the name of Mobileplanet, I've not had any issues with them in the UK and all orders have been prompt and problem free.
I found a review:
http://www.mobilitysite.com/articles/link.php?id=342
Only cons are low volume... I'll have to see...
Bummer on the low volume.. Also noticed that the 8125 doesn't fit.. Looks like I'm out of luck for now.. Nuts..
If you have some polycement (melts and re-sets plastics) you could remould the dock section to fit, it is only slightly different shape. You'd need some setting putty to make a cast of the bottom of the Wiza100 then you case the cast to get a wiza100 shaped lower part. you place polycement in the regions that don't match (may require some dissasembly of the cradle) and gently push to change the shape... Would probably make a mess so nvm... LOL
Speaker cradle
Yeah , it looks good , but there's one that looks even better and fits the cingular 8125 !!! But $ 40 is a bit too much to spend on something that'll not work on it's own , well .........

What about this cradle I found at BargainCell: http://www.bargaincell.com/product_11268_1201.html

best in-ear BT stereo Headset?

has anyone tried in-ear headset with the tytn?
i'm looking for omehting like this, and i prefer it would have an adapter for any 3.5 non-BT devices (like my creative zen )
i'd appreciate any help
Well, my OMIZ BT set works quite well for that.
could u supply a link plz? i googled and ebayed it...nothing
You cant have looked very well, one search brought it up!

I use the S9 from Motorola. Somewhat expensive but the sound quality is amazing. Just make sure you put on the correct size ear buds (comes with 3 sizes) to get a good fit.

Seems like this one comes very highly recommended:

or
http://www.sonyericsson.com/spg.jsp...1&template=pp4_1_1&zone=pp&lm=pp4_1&pid=10394
Seems like there is a 40sec pausing issue with 8525's (not the headset) that has been addressed with a patch from some of the smart folks on this website.
hmm, I don't know of any BT stereo in ear set with a detachable 3.5 jack other than the OMIZ.
This one, Motorola S9, have control buttons, call buttons, and that stuff, like the HT820 one?
The Sony Ericsson HBH-DS970 works marvellously for me

Speaker dock

Anybody find a decent speaker/dock system for the Gtab? Something like this:
http://the-gadgeteer.com/2010/11/15/jensen-jips-250i-ipad-speaker-dock/
We're not likely see anything like that for the g tablet unfortunately: there just isn't a large enough user base for mainstream accessory manufacturers to be interested.
Welcome to life on the fringes.
Funny, i was at Target thinking the same thing. I saw this same item and had hoped I could find some thing similar for the GTab.
I wish the basic dock had audio out. I was thinking about leaving the dock and a set of PC speakers here in my office. Not as elegant, but effective.
Get hdmi speakers.

I said the same thing a while back but found pricier speakers that used hdmi in the end.
Has anybody tried using some portable bluetooth speakers with the Gtab?
These look interesting. I'm not really looking for a booming system. Just want something I can take on vacation to enhance the stock, internal speakers.

look for a set of good quality PC speakers. Sound is great and they are fairly small.
Just ordered one of these:

Let us know how those Altec Lansings work. I'm curious about having a portable speaker system that I can take on trips as well.
Will do. In the meantime, here's the video that convinced me to give it a shot. The price isn't bad at all either - just $25 shipped.

Creative has a portable bluetooth speaker: D100
http://us.store.creative.com/Creative-D100-Portable-Bluetooth-Wireless-Speaker/M/B003N9SR00.htm
I have the Creative D200 and the Creative ZiiSound D5 which are both excellent.
I also use the Belkin stereo bluetooth dongle which works well:

That bluetooth dongle looks pretty sweet. Any complaints about the range on it?

Headphones With Mic?

The Atrix headphones that came with the phone work fine. Including the Microphone, But its not so great quality in sound.
I've purchased an apple headset with a microphone... And I can confirm it does not work.

true, no controls work, but i thought the OP was just talking about the mic
and i dont think it works great, some people have complained they cant hear me. but they do that when im talking directly into the handset as well
Get the ibeats By Dr. dre they are a little expensive but worth every penny =)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7X9-hF77gVo
Yes they sound great.
But what we want to know is if the controls work with the Atrix!
well the mic does work but not the controls =(
I just received these today............I like the sound, and they'll be just what I need for 2-3 hour flights.
Also, tested the mic out by calling my wife, and it works great too!
Motorola Behind-the-Neck Bluetooth Stereo Headset Black Bulk (S9-HD) - OEM
All the controls work also!
Do we need the 3.5mm plug type or the headset with the micro usb connector in order to use the controls?

Jumbl bluetooth receiver for wired headphones

I haven't seen anyone post this on here yet -
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GJW1HDM/ref=wms_ohs_product?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I grabbed one of these a month or two ago - it's great. 10-12 hours on a charge, 15-30 foot range. When I'm at the gym I don't want a ridiculously large Note strapped to my arm or weighing down my pocket (if my shorts even have one) - and when I'm walking around I'm taking phone in and out of pockets - since our headphone jack is on the top, this gets annoying. Instead I just plug my headphones into this guy, clip it to a shirt/jacket/short pocket and am good to go. It has volume control, skip fwd/back, and works flawlessly. At the gym I just leave my phone next to the rack or on a ledge or whatever and go to town.
Highly recommended!
Oh - I also use one of these: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00727FE5U/ref=wms_ohs_product?ie=UTF8&psc=1 .... connected to some mobile speakers that have ipod dock + headphone input jack, but no built-in bluetooth. Also works perfectly. Lots of hotel room/resort pool/beach use kinda stuff.
Cheers!
I picked up one of these a few days ago and love it. I gave up on trying to find a set of BT ear buds for now, I really like the Tone+ but I tried 3 different sets and 2 different Note 3s and could not get rid of the skipping. It didn't matter which music player I used and it still skipped if I streamed music or playing it directly from the device. I tried the Backbeat Go 2 but they hurt my ears after a short time and would not stay in very well. With the Jumbl receiver I can use any of the nice ear buds that I already have. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a different way to listen to music. It is very small, light and lasts a long time per charge.
