After going through the instructions on the forum, I've modified the framework-res.apk file to enable the CRT screen off animation.
I'm using .181 firmware:
Update: extract the framework-res.apk file in the attachment,
place the file in /system/ ,
change the permission of the apk to "rw-r--r--",
move and replace the file in /system/framework/
Instructions using RootExplorer: here
Update: added framework-res.apk for .184 firmware
Update2: added HK .145 firmware
Update3: Added Reboot in Power Menu for HK .145, after replacing framework-res.apk, extract framework.jar and android.policy.jar to /system, change permission then replace the files in /system/framework
Update4: 4.0.1.A.0.283 framework files with Reboot Power Menu added
Update5: 4.0.2.A.0.42 framework files with Reboot Power Menu and % Batt added *fixed key lights*
Update6: 4.0.2.A.0.58 framework files with Reboot Power Menu added
Has anyone tried this...!!! I used some software to get that animation...!!!

There is a simple app on the market that does this and more its called " screen off and lock" try if its free and u can lock ur phone different says only thing it doesnt do is unlock the same way

Just a quick note: You've to enable "all animations" at Settings -> Display for the screen off animation. Only install the screen of and lock without changing the setting wouldn't work. Hope this helps.

If it's in bootloop after replacing the framework.apk you can also just flash the system.img it will get fixed again withouth loosing data. I did this and worked for me. I don't have a windows pc so couldn't use flashtool so i had to improvise

Back when I was working on the X10, I had made this ROM which includes a themed black keyboard extracted from the Arc 2.3.4 firmware. You can download the ROM and get it from the zip. I would do it for you but I'm not on my PC right now.

Can't you simply install the textinput.apk from the system/app folder in the zip she gave you?? You need just root explorer and 10 seconds of spare time.

I tried the file in the Rom. Didnt work for me. The keyboard changed, but not to black
I moved it over, set permissions, moved to system/apps and the keyboard I got seemed to be an earlier android stock one.
My phone is a sim unlocked arc s, rooted using installer from this board.
Any further help or suggestions?

Hey! Just tried with one of kormatoes keyboard mod, and it works perfectly. You have to bring the textinput-tng.apk from the folder system/app and paste it in you phone's system/app folder, changing the permissions of the apk to rw-r-r! Then just reboot your phone...tried just now to check and everything works.

That button is to add contacts to call. .. That button is only activated after a call is connected.

you first need to copy the files on to your phone memory change the permission and then replace the files. you can copy the files in a temp folder then delete the same after the file replacement.

Why don't you port it? I have noticed that you have been "requesting" stuff quite a bit but not doing anything yourself? You can update to ICS because no need to port to GB or learn to port it yourself?

need to resize images for that..I will fix it soon.
if decompile and then compile it using apktools.
Then load it onto system/app and reboot phone it says Infiniteview has stopped.

Change the permission to rwx,r_x,r_x and reboot .or clear data from app.if it's still not working then It's not compiled properly.

Maybe you have to press Power-on an Volume-up buttons for a while to reboot after copying this file, because your system hang up.

may be u did it wrong, using root explorer, first u must put the systemui.apk in the system folder and set the permission to rw-r-r (like in the screenshot sample) then u move the apk to the system/app folder. after that reboot ur phone

You're right, so far - that's the way to do this and so I made it, too.
I have two sola phones (both ICS, rooted), tried different statusbars on them and every time the system stopped after a short time, i copied the systemUI.apk file to the app folder. Think, its because of you are copying a a new file over a running (system-) file. I used once the solid explorer (still beta, but fine) and then the ES file explorer.
But after a reset all things were ok and the status bars worked ok. Thx to the developers...
No matter, I just wanted to tell, if this happens (system stop) - just make a reset and all will be fine. :good:

Please check your downloaded file and see if ok... just downloaded the file and test and its ok..
i have check it and it's ok...also I try bios boot and same error occure...status 7
I try manually using root explorer now
I tried manually to move to sistem/media and changed the permisions corectly but when I reboot there is no boot animation just black picture

Can you please tell me what phone you have and what cwm you are using and do you have busy box installed

Ok I don't know what could be the problem have tested them all on 2 phones and they are working have you tried any of the others? If yes did they work?

nope just cia and bios boot...others I din't tryed because I expect same status 7 error...anyone else have xperia u ? did you try this to flash using cwm?
I tested the bios one.
Steps
1. Es filemanager with root rights
2. Extract the file
3. Moved the bootanimation.zip to direction /system/media/
Work perfectly

tested it with both ... first on stock (rooted), then i felt a bit unlike (was under GB on brains) about the ics stock so i changed back to brain ics 5.
Works perfect, looks great (especially BIOS and CIA)! Thanks a lot bro
it work's for me now...I extracted bootanimation.zip from sistem and replaced original with this one and now bios boot works ...
