[Q] How to add reboot and recovery on power button on void echo? - Optimus One, P500, V General

I saw that there's the reboot and recovery menu available by pressing the power button on other roms. Is there any way to put things like these on void? I saw some guides out there but it only works on specific devices..
I'm flashing things and customizing my android frequently so I thought that putting these on the power button can speed up the process.

The power menu is ROM/THEME specific. If you flash a rom which does not include this option then the power setting will not have reboot or recovery option.
Why don't you install one of the theme found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=916006
The honeycomb one has working power options
On a side note: if you don't want to install themes, then just install terminal emulator from the market.
Type su
reboot (to reboot) or
recovery (to reboot into recovery)

appears a lot of opitions... any one know all??? and the funccion?
tks
if u know where i can read please post the link!!!
You've stumbled into a bar on the wrong side of town, mi amigo!
Seriously, before you go trying to actually use any of these menus, you will want to read this post in its entirety:
[Updated 8-2-2011] THE BEGINNERS (N00B) GUIDE!!! N00BS LOOK HERE FOR YOUR HOW TOs
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1154600
That being said, here are some notes on how this works on the Atrix 4G.
Fastboot menu
- Power on phone
- Press and hold Volume Down key as soon as green power light goes out
- Wait until "Fastboot" appears on Motorola splash screen
- Press Volume Down key to cycle through menu items
- Press Volume Up key to select item
The three most important items in the Fastboot menu for Moto modding are Android Recovery, Fastboot, and RSD:
Android Recovery
- Enter Fastboot main menu and select "Android Recovery"
- Wait until Exclamation mark and Android icons appear on screen
- Tap lower right-hand corner of screen to open system recovery menu (for newer firmware versions, press the Volume Up/Down keys simultaneously)
- Press Volume Up or Volume Down keys or tap menu to select item
- Rotate phone to LANDSCAPE orientation and tap lower corner of screen near "OK" to accept selected item (or press the Volume Up/Down keys simultaneously)
Fastboot protocol support
- Power on phone
- Enter Fastboot main menu (as previously explained) and select "Fastboot"
- Wait until "Starting Fastboot protocol support" appears on screen
RSD protocol support
- Power on phone
- Press and hold Volume Up key as soon as green power light goes out
- Wait until "Starting RSD protocol support" appears on screen
- OR -
- Enter Fastboot main menu (as previously explained) and select "RSD"
Android Recovery is a GUI interface for wiping the phone/restoring to factory defaults and applying firmware updates. Recovery packages consist of a zip file containing partition images and a script to tell the recovery program what to do with them. It's common practice to replace the stock recovery program with ClockworkMod (CWM) Recovery. For the Atrix 4G you'll need to use a special version - Tenfar's CWM Recovery Mod for Atrix 4G: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1138541
Fastboot protocol requires a USB connection to a command terminal on a PC. Partition .img files are applied directly to the phone memory. You won't want to mess with this until you've read and understood the N00B Guide at the link posted above.
RSD protocol also requires a USB connection. Commands can be issued via a terminal window or a Windows GUI program called "RSD Lite". RSD uses SBF (Single Binary Format) image files instead of the partition image files used by Android Recovery and Fastboot. You also don't want to mess with this until you've thoroughly studied all the info in the N00B Guide.
When you feel you have a basic grasp of how this all works, then here's the easiest method for unlocking your Atrix 4G:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1182871
This all-in-one program will automatically unlock your phone, install Tenfar's CWM recovery, and install su for root access. You won't need to install ADB or RSD Lite or anything else on your PC except for the Motorola USB drivers. I used this one myself after lurking and reading here for about a month. Worked like a charm for me.
Good Luck!
Updating the thread to say... at this point the recommended Atrix recovery is romracer's version, posted here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1204500
romracer is actively maintaining this version, and it correctly handles backups and restores to/from both the internal storage and the external SD card.
After you run mramirezusa's unlock/recovery/root script (see link in previous post), you can use Tenfar's recovery to install romracer's recovery.
Just noticed that the OP appears to be posting from Brazil... (but then again, I'm not really posting from Antarctica...)
OP, if you don't have an AT&T phone then mramirezusa's script is not for you. Sorry for the confusion...

(REQ) Reboot -> Hot Reboot in Power Button Menu

We all know about the actual limitations for the reboot option to be implemented in GB, so can the HOT REBOOT be implemented instead the NORMAL REBOOT like an option in power button menu? i have a widget for that but would be a great addition to a Custom ROM.

[Q] Sola stuck without recovery reboot

I had been testing several ROMs while I saw an unofficial Cyanogenmod 11 thread. There was an available zip for pepper as well. I used Cyanogenmod 8 then. So I rebooted into recovery and flashed.
I then wanted to flash gapps, so I enabled recovery reboot in the developer options in the settings, I pressed the power button and I chose to reboot into recovery.
The phone just reboots normally.
Please note that root access has not been destroyed, I can access files that require root, it is just that the recovery reboot does not work, and now I am stuck with a ROM that I just wanted for testing purposes. Didn't expect that it would lock me in
Any help appreciated.
Many cm11 roms fail to reboot to recovery, but you can just reboot normally and press volume up .(or down, it's the higher one if phone is vertical) button a few times until it goes to recovery. This is manual system and works as long as you still have the recovery.
Sent from my Xperia Sola using XDA-FORUM, powered by appyet.com
You saved me
Up button solved it
I'm posting the whole process for anyone having the same issue:
1) Enable Developer mode by clicking 5 times in the Build info under About phone in the settings.
2) Go in there and enable advanced reboot
3) Select advanced reboot and while the phone opens, hold Volume UP.
Now you are into recovery mode. Without selecting recovery reboot it didn't work (steps 1, 2)

Now i haven't tested beyond that but i found a youtube link for flashing stock rom via odin
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ChtmNtpk3c
but this is in spanish so i translated in english here..
You must install Samsung KIES to ensure that your PC detects your phone.
After downloading install Odin
1 - Restart the phone in Download Mode ( Vol down , Home, Power Simultaneously ) .
press volume up to continue ( or vol down to leave but it can damage... )
2- Start Odin
3 - select files and press Start
Watch Out !!! Never unplug your phone before restarting
After 5-10 minutes your phone will reboot to your new ROM
stock rom download below:

Thank you very much! Although my SCH-i589 is currently hard brick, I think it will be very useful! -- Greetings from new members after 8 years

Click to collapse
Or you could download TWRP from the play store and do it from within the app, if your rooted of course.
I tried these both with no success
The only way I can boot into TWRP is through the Klickitool here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-lg-v10/development/tool-t3283944
How to install an stable TWRP?
This is my ROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmo...-lg-v10-h901-10c-debranded-debloated-t3277305
This took me a while to learn myself with this phone. Was so frustrating. The app is good but if you need to do it from a battery pull this won't help.
Do this:
Pull Battery
Put it back and then:
1. Hold the volume down button and power button down.
2. When the LG logo pops out while keeping the volume down button held quickly remove you finger from the power and then back on and Hold it.
This should get you in. Ima pro now. Lol.
You will get a white screen with some options. Use the volume down key to answer "yes" twice and you will be in TWRP.
This way is kinda long, but just for educational purposes I guess...
If you are rooted already, get a terminal emulator and type in 'su' (without the quote) and hit enter. You'll be prompted to allow super user access to the terminal. Click allow and then type 'reboot recovery' and hit enter. It will boot into whatever recovery you have installed.
Some emulators have widgets where you can save commands and execute them by tapping the widget but I haven't really messed with those features.
