Okay i want to post the picture but i think i need 8 post to do that.
Basically i use the mail with bubble wrap to cover my asus transformer.

I have to admit, that I am doing the same thing just now with my TF as I havent found a suitable sleeve for it yet.
Bubblewrap mail envelopes FTW!

Haha, nice idea. I don't know how you resis popping the bubble! You have stronger will power than I do.

Actually, i popped a few just to kill my cravings.

dumb question but does the bubble wrap stuff scratch the screen at all? i would imagine not, but just wondering since it's not a nice soft neoprene-ish kind of deal.

The screen is covered by Gorilla Glass. Pretty tough stuff.

Instead of buying a case that doesn't fit, or trying to make it fit on something that is not made for asus transformer. I rather wait for It's official gel skin than wasting my money on something that i will replace soon.
Another advantages of this sleeve is it's theft deterrent , Or at least its not pleasing to the eye of a thief. It will most likely to be thrown away rather than being stolen.
The bubble wrap is so soft, i don't think it will scratch anything. Its very lightweight, and i can use it as a placemat for my tablet so the back wont get scratched by the rough surface of some tables.
I can now place my tablet securely in my backpack which is my everyday carry bag anyway.

can you explain how it scratches the phone? i have a cheep case with a built in screen protector and its a little bulky so i can deal with bulk but the scratching would bother me.
had this case and itr sucks. it is bulky and dosent stay on well. when you do go to take it all off it scratches the top of the phone.
ok then. looks like im going to im going to stick with my 2.50$ mivizu... this is a shame because i really like the idea
Honestly, i clicked on this thread because i wondered what "nacked" meant... But, and here comes my 2p, the velvety phone condom that my G1 came with has done a bang up job of preventing scratches etc.. Not sure if you're looking for a belt clip or whatever but wrapping it does wonders, and the same dicipline applies to putting the cover on the phone as well

Best / Thinnest (Preferably Clear) Case for G1?

I was searching around and could not find a gel/TPU type clear case for the G1...for those of you who do not know...here is one example of a Nexus One case like what I would want:
http://cgi.ebay.com/2-Soft-Case-TPU...t=LH_DefaultDomain_0&var=&hash=item746a91e417
I know they do not show a completely clear one, but that is the material/type of case I would like. It is not like a typical silicone case -it is slightly like a hard case being that it does not bend as easily and it is not floppy at all.
Any ideas?
Heres the problem that I see...
How would you open the keyboard with that cover overlapping the front of the phone? That would probably be the reason those style covers don't exist for the G1.
As my fellow Oregonian said.. Soft cases and a slide keyboard won't really work.. If you look at the hard shells you'll see how the screen has it's own little part that clips on.. soft shells wrap instead of clip on...
I fail to see why they could not have a separate piece to put on the screen...?
If there is no such case... then could someone recommend a thin, yet tough, hard case? (preferably clear)
soft cases can't clip onto the screen part that has to slide up...
but here's something i found with decent reviews for the other colors.. clear hasn't been rated yet

Yeah I understand what you mean and thanks for that info...but - I was thinking not of a soft case 'clipping' onto the screen but you could slip a cover over it or around it -I am SURE there is some way to do it....

LOL WOW THANK YOU!!!! How did you find that ? it should not be labeled as silicone (I think)..... wow that is exactly what I am looking for! I knew it was possible.... any way - I wish it didnt cost so much, the others I see like it(on other phones) is significantly cheaper (like under $5.00 with shipping included).... If I cannot find any cheaper ones I will order that one...
Thanks again, I cant believe you found just what I was looking for...

yea that case is rocking . I as well was looking for something like this! Thanks!! hey erebusting did you order it? did ya like it?
I ordered the clear one, and it came in yellowish like it was old or like someone was smoking around it or something.... the seller gave me a refund because he said they had no more, but I think that all the clear ones were just as yellow ? who knows....
also when you hold the phone in portrait mode on the top right and left corners of the keyboard section the case left a small gap on each side maybe about 1-2 millimeters as if it was slipping off...
Other than all that I liked it, but would not use it because it makes my phone look yellow / ugly... if I had a case like that with these flaws fixed then I would use it.

LMAO...Reading this was funny for some reason
Can you post some pictures? And would you recommend it? I am looking for a new case for my phone, and this one is one that I am considering
I had this case. I had a screen protector on, and the extra height of the screen protector made the screen portion of the case slip off. If you don't use a screen protector, it might work for you. I bought a Seidio case and never looked back. Super thin, rugged plastic. Comes in black so it blends into the phone.

zinite, I understand that, but see I do also have a screen protector on but the section of the case which goes on the screen is fitting fine, the section for the body is the part I have the complaint about. I will definately check out some Seidio cases now that you have mentioned that.
SolemnWishing, Here are some pictures of the case next to a clear hard case (which is actually clear and not yellow...)
Ace42, glad you got a laugh! haha...BTW I am wondering why you were laughing though, kind of odd to me ATM...
WOW! that case is really yellow. i was thinking about getting one thinking it wont be that yellow. but that is definitely gross smoker yellow
Dang... it looks like someone left that out in the sun for like a year or something..
Guess you know what happens to these cases when you have em for awhile... I've long given up on G1 cases: with a simple screen protector you should be on your way. I love the feel of the back of the G1, and a case would only screw that up.

I also love the feelings of the G1 without a case, but I have dropped my previous phones too many times to take that chance... haha
Any ways... Those pictures are from the same day of receiving that case, so it must be some fault on the seller....
its really a disappointment since there are no other cases (that I can find that is) like that for the G1...
any other recommendations/ideas?

Any interest in this?

My buddy has been creating molds and making true carbon fiber parts for our motorcycles. I attached a pic of a front sprocket cover he just made for his Aprilia... Anyway, I asked him if he could make a mold of a phone case, and produce some high quality, true carbon fiber cases for the Rezond, iPhone 4, etc... He said sure, he can take my case and make a mold and create a thin and incredibly strong case that would just snap on, be highly polished and look amazing.
He has not yet come up with a price, but we are thinking somewhere in the $30-$40 range once he gets the mold and process down, makes sure the fitment is perfect, gets the finish and polish perfect, etc... then he can start producing them.
I know that I have always wanted a real carbon fiber case, not that crappy plastic with the fake weave, and when I did find some they never made one for my phone and if they did, they were like $100 or something crazy...
So I ask you folks, if we could produce a really nice quality item at a really fair price, would there be enough demand to justify it? Would anyone be interested?
Here is what his sprocket cover looks like, so you can get an idea of how the finished product would look. The stuff is strong as hell, and weighs nothing, would add almost no bulk to the phone if done properly.
Thoughts?
If you made 1 for the Galaxy Nexus LTE I'd buy it.

Well, the beauty of this is that we don't need a phone to make a mold. We can take a plastic snap on case that we can buy pretty cheap, and make a mold from that, lay the kevlar weave, pour in the epoxy and vacuum seal it to impregnate the weave and remove all the air bubbles and then let it cure for 24 hours. It would be a slow process, but if the demand is there, we could make up a batch, sell them, then make another batch.
The case would have to be the single piece snap-on type. This stuff has the tensile strength of steel, so it is not going to want to bend a lot. It will have to flex slightly and snap securely on. We will play around until we get it perfect, and then show the finished product and see if people are interested.
Thanks for the feedback. If this works and he sells a decent amount, he can make different molds for different phones, shouldn't be a problem if the demand is there.

Cool. My friend Daniel is one of those guys that whatever he does, it just comes out awesome. I once needed some touch up paint done to a 2007 Ducati Monster S4RS, and in his garage he added some lines and things and it looked like a factory paint job. The guy has skills.
I got a gouge in my tank, and needed the red lines repaired, and I wanted some green added so that we would have all 3 colors of the Italian Flag on the bike, and this is what he did in his garage one day. Came out amazing looking, several layers of clear, looks like it came that way from the factory... So if he decides to do this, rest assured it will be top notch work and worth every penny.
I'm definitely in, hope this happens soon!
Thanks!

I am gonna get my plastic case to him this weekend so that he can make a mold for the Rezound. Will keep you guys posted, but it will probably take a week for the first completed unit to see the light of day, and we will see where we stand at that point.
There's a "Barley There" case that would be perfect for this. Might be cool to have a hole for the beats logo IMO. The red would add some nice contrast with carbon.
Sweet bike by the way. Looks awesome.

We will make sure that it does. The one on the bottom is open already, but we would need to make a hole to the left of the Beats logo.
We will have everything uncovered that needs to be.
I'm not a case guy but I'm getting excited about this. If the price is right and it comes out right, I could see myself getting a red one to. Now the suspense is killing me.

Or a #55 on the back in memory of Simoncelli could be cool. I wonder if a decal could be applied to the weave before putting in the epoxy? Would be cool to have things under the clear... Hmmm...
I would be very interested in a black/dark grey one. What would be even sicker is if you could replicate the plastic part of the otterbox case with carbon fiber. That would be incredible. That way it would still have the silicone inside, but the outside would be carbon fiber.
Daniel is not a member here but he is monitoring the thread. I think that making C/F parts to replace the plastic "skeleton" of things like the Otterbox is a great idea. All we would need is the plastic part to make a mold, and in some ways that might be easier to make than the standard snap on case that doesn't have the under-layer of silicone... Hmmm....

Regular, flat case for 7"?

I've been Googling, eBaying, and Amazoning (last fictional verb sounds kinda cool) for a common, flat case for my Tab 2 7.0.
It has become my number one remote control, so you can probably understand how uncomfortable a flip case is, adding an extra step every time I want to change a channel, or having a cover hanging (why in the world are 95% of the cases are now "folio"?!). Also, most cases either block the IR transmitter entirely, have some part obstructing it partially, making it mandatory to aim with "the" angle towards my TV set.
I have found a few silicon cases on eBay, but they have an S line, or weird X across the whole thing, that just make the device look fugly to me. No offense if someone likes it or has it, as we know, everyone has different taste.
I'd like to just get a regular, non-flip, non-folio, non-X-or-any-character-of-the-alphabet-drawn, plain cover, that protects the rear of my device, and doesn't obstruct the IR blaster at all. How hard can it be? The perfect fit for me would be a flat, matte black rubber thingy, with a hole where the blaster is... so simple, and inexistent! Maybe even better, a hard case.
Anyone found something, somewhere?

I've looked but haven't found any.
I tried out the S curve case that was made for the GTab Plus and it fit horribly. It's too bad that the Gtab 2 isn't popular enough to have more cases. I was hoping for a Cruzerlite case, but I don't think it's gonna happen.

Why not just get one of these cheap tpu style cases and just cut the tabs off that hold the cover?

Got one, and it fits perfect! I'll post some pictures tomorrow.
PS: Anyone has tried matte/antiglare screen protectors? Been thinking about one, but not really convinced.
Try the Capdase silicone case for Tab 7.0 plus. Although mine is the folio type, (silicone case with IR blaster slot + leather folio) their plain silicone (w/o the leather case) seems exactly what you're looking for. Just plain flat black silicone, no x or s or whatever. just plain flat.

Do the corners of that case create a bit of a bevel/lip where they clamp on the tab? In other words, when you put the tab face down on a desk/table, is there a space between the screen and desk/table or is it flush?

I prefer the matte over the clear screen protector. The clear one gets sticky at times, the matte is always smooth and you don't have to worry about hairline scratches and reflections in your screen.

Now, the long overdue pictures . Since the back surface is mostly flat (that was the idea), I concentrated mostly on showing how it fits the tablet. My apologies for the narrow depth of field... unfortunately I didn't have my tripod's plate with me, so I had to take the pictures handheld, and the only way to get a steady shot was with a large aperture.
This is the general look of it:

Dealextreme tends to be somewhat slow compared to individual sellers from Ebay, I believe this is because DX is the "middleman" liasing between customers who place orders and the suppliers who advertise their products whereas on Ebay, the sellers are the suppliers who respond directly to customer orders.

Over the shoulder phone holster

Found a holster that goes over your shoulder, you can wear it under a jacket or vest. Avoids buldge in your pants pocket and awkward belt holster. It's kind of on the pricey side. Thought of asking my gf to get it for me for Xmas lol. Kind of cool and it cones with a wallet in the other side. You can also take off the wallet if you choose not to use it. It's made with vegan leather. They chose to use this over real leather because apparently real leather carries moisture and odor, also stains. They stated the vegan leather ages and fades (patinas sort of) like real leather. http://www.ldwest.com/shop/ you can also check the Instagram account @LG_west_atl
I'm confused, you want to avoid the bulge in your pants caused by the phone by making a bulge over your shoulder? I mean, maybe I just am not vogue, but I think that a bulge over your shoulder would be a little more abnormal than one in your pants pocket. Maybe if there was an image of this product being used by someone, I would understand more, but as it is, this makes very little sense...
Over the shoulder boulder holder? I'll have my wife pick me one up next time she heads to Victoria's Secret. Hard pass from me. Prefer the bulge in my pants I guess.
I think this is like an inside jacket holster like police carry their guns in.

This might be practical if you are going out of the country worried about losing stuff but for everyday use this is some hipster stuff. To each their own though.

Except then you take you jacket off when you get where your going and look like a tool.

I still would love to see an image of this being used by someone. I think it would be quite a riot.
Do they have one that matches my Fanny Pack? Also if I like to wear socks with my sandals, would it look weird to wear this at same time?
