[Q] Has anyone managed to pair a Motorola keyboard with the HTC Flyer? - HTC Flyer, EVO View 4G

I tried pairing my Motorola bluetooth keyboard, designed ostensibly for the Xoom but actually functional with any computer, with my HTC Flyer.
A dialog prompting me to enter some numbers into the keyboard appears, then immediately disappears and is replaced by a Toast message. Both are visible in this screenshot, courtesy of the device's fancy pen screenshot thing:

(Note that this dialog does not stay on the screen long enough to follow its instructions.)
Thoughts? Has anyone managed to get the Flyer to pair with a keyboard? If so, which one?

Aha. You have to convince it that you're pairing it with a desktop PC by holding down V, A, and R when you power it on. Unfortunately, this results in the android keys not working.

HELP ---- Can't get Xoom keyboard to work & Questions about BT Mouse...
Greetings!
I have the same keyboard and am unable to get it to work. I tried everything but the problem is that "code" to pair it only stays up for a second or two. I also tried hold down the V, A and R keys.
Is there another way?
Also, I was able to pair my Mac Mouse but it's too jumpy and I would love it if I could see a pointer on my screen. My friend as the BB Playbook and it plays very nicely with his BT keyboard and BT mouse. Even the Playbook shows a pointer on its screen when paired with a mouse.
Thanks so much for your help, Community

Fwiw I actually removed the batteries before holding down those keys while powering it on. I wanted to make sure it was really off.

THANK YOU!!!
kkinder,
Thank you so much!!! As you suggested, I removed the batteries, now my Motorola keyboard works great!!!
By pairing it this way, you mentioned this: You have to convince it that you're pairing it with a desktop PC by holding down V, A, and R when you power it on. Unfortunately, this results in the android keys not working.
What do you mean by this?
Thank you for this post!
I am loving my Flyer so far, just trying to tame my BT Mouse to play nice too!!!
Take care!

No problem.
I mean that, for example, the back button on the keyboard doesn't work.

Samsung Tab bluetooth keyboard case works with HTC Flyer
Hi,
I'm new here. I signed up to share this piece of information with other Flyer users. I love my Flyer and have been looking for a case with an attached bluetooth keyboard that works with the Flyer. Finally ordered one that arrived today.
The verdict?
It works with the Flyer. When you first try to pair them (All Settings > Wireless and Networks > Bluetooth Settings), the Flyer will detect the keyboard. Go ahead and opt to pair them and the Flyer will prompt you with a dialog box to enter a PIN generated by the bluetooth keyboard. Problem is, the OK key on the dialog prompt is grayed out and it looks like you can't enter the PIN.
Just go ahead and type the PIN in using the bluetooth keyboard and then press the Enter key on the bluetooth keyboard. The two will be paired up and you only need to do this once. After that, every time the Flyer and the bluetooth keyboard are switched on, they will find each other without a hitch.
Btw the Samsung tab does not fit the Flyer perfectly. You need to cut out a small part so that you can see the menu buttons on the Flyer in horizontal mode. You also need to cut out a small part for the Flyer's front camera to be usable. Finally, widen the hole at the back of the case for the Flyer's camera.
All of these if done carefully will let the Samsung case retain it's handsome good looks. I got mine at Thinkgeek dot com for only $25 - on sale! If you look around at the various Samsung Tab bluetooth keyboard cases, most of them are actually made by the same manufacturer, just sold by different brands. Try not to pay too much for the same thing when another seller may have it on sale or offer it cheaper.

[APP] HTC Car Panel & Google Car Home

OK guys I just want to share an app that I've been using since the nexus one but missed it with my amaze which is a good car dock app. HTC has Car Panel which is nice but not as good as Google's Car Home which you can customize.

Google Car Home
To install Google Car Home you will need to install HTC Car Panel too because for some reason Google Car Home doesn't install an icon for sense roms.
This is where Car Panel comes in, when you open the app drawer select Car Panel select Car Home.
One of the things I like about Google Car Home is the fact that it can automatically open the app once it sees that you are connected to your cars bluetooth and disables it once you disconnect.
The only thing that doesn't work is when you go to settings and select Android Setting it will force close(probably cause of sense)
Enjoy!
EDIT: Oh sorry I just saw that they are 2 different apps. NVM
what is the difference in the 2 attached files? I do see one file is bigger than the other in kb size.

P.s. FOOTPRINTS WILL NOT work, because we do not have that app on our phone...I see no benefit to using HTC car panel, I use car home, in conjunction with vlingo car mode.....flawless...I just wish vlingo car would start up on its on when I plug it into my car charger but its in beta for now...If I could I would use vlingo car for everything...I has everything I need.

There's another one by iBolt that looks good, but it doesn't have audio out through the usb port. I don't know if the case duo has audio out, if I have to, I will use the headphone jack. I have a mount for my droid3 and it's awesome. The droid3 mount doesn't even have to be plugged in, it just sits on the plug. I ordered the case duo, I'll report back.
I got the case duo yesterday. It's sturdy, supports the phone well on my windsheild and dash. The case duo does not launch carmode automatically qnd does not have an audio out through the mini usb port. I think the iBolt would've been better. The iBolt will automatically launch carmode an it's probably adjustable to fit another phone. The case duo is specifically designed to fit the DNA so there's no chance of fitting another phone without serious modification.
Thanks for the info!

You could use NFC tags to launch your car into car mode turn on bluetooth and turn up screen brightness and such. I plan on insetting this case and that is what i plan doing with it. thank you for review. The app i am using to run those task is NFC task launcher
I use tasker to do things when bluetooth is on. I have th app from ig88 called car mode that automatically launches carmode. I also use cardock home from ig88, because it has live wallpaper, widget support an I can see music visualizers on it. They have a speedometer widget and shortcuts to play and stop music. When car dock home launches it turns on bluetooth, so my torque app connects, auto brightness off, brightness to 255, vol up, hotspot on(for kids and their nexus), and netron music app starts playing. I tried NFC, but it was too much to tap it again to undo everything, tasker works better for me.

Track pad works. Pairs just fine. Home button works too. Very light and very happy to use this.
Just want to say that the battery life has been great on this. Not all of the extra button's other than letters, numbers, space, enter and esc work in every app I've used. I have mapped keys in a couple of emulators which was kind of fun to play with. Also, the keys are a little stiff when pressing so for me it's kind of difficult to type fast. At the top corners are the left and right mouse buttons, positioned like triggers which I think is awesome. The touch pad has been very responsive so far and double tap functionality works too.

Just ordered one , can't wait to try it out! My couch is about 10 ft away from my TV. Do you think it will still work decent?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Xparent Skyblue Tapatalk 2
Sorry for taking so long to reply. Mine works from across the room just fine so 10 feet shouldn't be a problem.

It was stiff when I first got it, ut its broken in nicely!
Bought this thing on the recommendation of this thread, and it seems great so far.
One small issue I've found is that I can't find a button that acts as the "back" button on the Nexus Player remote. Navigating websites and some apps is difficult without a back button. Anybody figure this out?

That's an awesome price for that. I might have to consider that.
i just ordered one.. thanks for posting.
I got mine today but cannot get it paired... I see the keyboard on the NP screen but it says its pairing and never finishes... I rebooted and got the same result.. Any ideas?
Here is a pic
never mind, fixed it. works great.
on my Logitech diNovo mini bluetooth keypad, FN+ESC works as a back button. If you go to my post http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-player/accessories/logitech-dinovo-mini-t2944222 on this same forum I have other key combinations I have posted that should work for the Trak Pad as well.
---------- Post added at 02:33 AM ---------- Previous post was at 02:29 AM ----------
with the Logitech diNovo mini keypad, Windows Button + spkr up/dn = System Volume up/down (also clicking on this window while open with mouse pad alows other volume/alert settings)
alt+spkr up/dn = same functionality.
Try one of these and see if they control your volume

I think I may be a bit slow, but I'm getting the same result. However I haven't managed to pair. The Nexus Player even ends up saying "Unable to pair"
*edit* got it. Required reboot of nexus player.
Does multi touch work on this track pad? Like if I needed to scroll as if you were on your phone could you do double Swype or something?
I bought this because you guys suggested it and it works great on the google nexus player and my son loves it too because it also works on his Samsung galaxy tablet, was a nice surprise!

Advantages of owning both a Samsung phone and tablet?

About to get a new phone and I also have a S7+. Are there any benefits with using a Samsung phone over just any Android device?
I want the Pixel 4a 5g because of the price, but I am already missing the benefit of measuring my blood pressure and EKG with my Samsung watch, because I have a V60 at the moment. That is not that big of a deal but I wanted to know what features I may be missing out on my S7+ by not going with a Samsung phone.
Customization. No other stock phone is as customizable. Hundreds of free icon packs, themes, and the Good Lock family of apps.
Many of the Samsung's have SD card slots. I won't buy a phone with no SD card slot as I use it as a data drive.

There are quite a few advantages, all of which I use daily and although they are mainly simple things that you could probably work around, I couldn't see myself switching to another phone and losing those features now that I have them.
1. Call and text sharing, so if a call or text comes in on my phone I can answer it on my tablet.
2. Seamless audio switching with my Buds+, if I'm listening to something on my phone, then switch to watching something on my tablet the Buds+ will auto switch device. Also, if I'm watching something on my tablet and a call comes in on my phone, the Buds+ will switch to the phone.
3. Auto data tethering. Your phone will always appear at the top of the WiFi menu on your tablet and you can start tethering data without having to first enable it on the phone.
4. App sync, I don't use this one that much as right now I think it only works with Samsung Notes and Samsung Internet but if I write a note on my tablet and then open the multitasking menu on my phone there will be a button to open Samsung Notes on the phone just as I had left it on the tablet.
5. You can use the tablet keyboard to type on the phone. Just press a button on the tablet keyboard and it switches to typing on the phone, handy for replying to WhatsApp messages without having to pick up the phone.
There are probably some more features, but these are the ones that I use.
Thank you for your reply, that helps a lot! Probably go with the S21 5g then. I have everything else Samsung (TV, tablet, watch, earbuds, SmartThings WiFi) might as well get their phone too along with a Samsung fan boy t-shirt!

On the screen shot on the right/left sides you'll notice the light strips. They can be may any size, color or transparency including invisible. That's the app One Hand Operation + which is a very cool app that can be used to toggle on many different apps/services, gesture navigation and more.
Nests well in the curve of the screen. The Digi Clock Widget also has 4 switch quadrants that I use... hidden switches everywhere. They allow for a very clean but highly functional/stable home screen. Very low battery usage as well.
The Buds couple fast with Samsung phones plus you can use the proprietary SSC codec. The Buds + are a definite sound upgrade from the Buds. Not sure about the Buds Pro, there could fit issues; the Buds and Buds+ are dimensions/fit identical but that was change with the Pro model.

S PEN Galaxy Tab S6 (SM-T860) doesn't connect anymore so it is not possible to use suspended actions.

My s6 tab was purchased in late 2019, shortly after launch. I always used it with tcare and had never had any problems. However, for about two days now, he started to report that the s pen was disconnected. After a few attempts to reconnect or after restoring the pen (configuration > advanced features > s pen > three dots > restore s pen) it even reconnects, but when I lock the screen and unlock the message that the pen is disconnected appears again . I've cleared the cache in recovery mode, I've tried to update, I've restored the s pen and the tablet, I've cleaned the part that connects the s pen and the tablet, but nothing solves! Lucky for me, only the suspended actions don't work, as the pen doesn't connect, but the other writing functions and the button still work so far. To avoid the continuous notification that the s pen is disconnected I had to disable the suspended actions.
I believe this is a specific problem with s pen.
I'm super upset with this problem since it's an expensive device and I always took care of the tablet in the best way and never dropped the pen. It is disappointing to have this issue in 1.5 years of normal use.
To make matters worse, the product is no longer under warranty, as more than 1 year has passed, and the s6 tab s pen is not available for sale on the Samsung website in Brazil, which is absurd! How does the company not sell an essential accessory for one of its top-of-the-line tablets?

Unfortunately, I tried all the steps and suggestions, but none of them solved the connection problem.
There is no apparent damage on the S Pen.
It is still working correctly for writing and other functions. The shortcut menu appears and all the related functions to it work fine.
The problem is on the connection or on the battery of the s pen, i don’t know, because the status appears always as disconnected.
I don’t have the air actions, so I can’t configure the remote control functions while using apps, like controlling the camera.
All my apps and the android system are updated. I replaced the s pen tip, I rebooted the tablet in safe mode, I reset the pen (on air actions options), but nothing solved the conection problem.
Finally, I also performed a factory data reset/hard reset on my tablet, but the problem persists.
The tablet tries to connect (takes a long time processing), but it doesn't connect. Appers the message: couldn’t connect to your s pen
Alerting notifications: s pen disconnected
it's very disappointing that in less than a year and a half of normal use such an expensive tablet is already with troubles.
I just wanted to buy a new original S Pen, but it doesn't have it in the Samsung store in Brazil.
What nonsense! A recent device and one of the brand's most modern tablets.
It's very frustrating and disappointing, because I'll have to keep the damaged S Pen and the tablet without all its special features, as announced by Samsung.
Hi,
Really need your help, after I updated my firmware using Odin, updated BL, AP, CP, CSC, my tab cannot boot up stuck in logo. Doing the Power + volume up leads me to different screen now.
What must I do? Pleasssee help. Added the pic, after doing hard reset (power + vol up)
I cannot connect back to Odin also. Always setup connection failed.
Please help.
Thank you in advance.
Seems like the bluetooth receiver on your S-Pen is faulty, so your S-Pen would need to be replaced or repaired. If you have purchased the extended warranty on your device, I would recommend that you take it back to the retailer for repairs.
