and wow its getting to be a looot.

Can someone tell me in which format are these games? Standard ISO? Can it be opened with some archiver like 7-Zip?

the game file is .zpack and cant open with winzip or winrar

it is openable with 7-zip
the largest file is image.ps about 500mb
there is also another interesting file called ps1_rom.bin

Is image.ps openable with 7-Zip too? This should be the actual game.
PS1_ROM.bin should be PS1 BIOS - is it 512kB big?

it is 257KB big,
image.ps seems to be encrypted, there is not a single readable word when you open it hex editor, I might be wrong.
Also, xxx.zpak doesn't do any compression, it just glues some files together.
here is its layout:
xxx.zpak:
| data
||image.ps
||ps1_rom.bin
|manual
||XXX (the x's are some number with one being AAA and one being ZZZ)(about 40 files)
|metadata.xml (the id is some numbers, I am guessing it is the signature)
I would post the whole zpak here if it was not copy righted

What about SE's emulator on the phone? Is it in a form of APK?
Manual should be, logically, manual. Can you upload it somewhere and PM me the link?

can someone send him the zpak? it is at sdcard:
Android/data/com.sony.../files/content/xxx.zpak
sorry Blagus, but my internet is realy really bad

I think we decided that we need to modify the actual emulator, and not the games. But what do i know :S

[Q] Dell Streak Skin...

Hi, XDA Folks !
nice to meet you... I am new here and this will be my 1st posting. This forum really looks cool...
I have searched for the thematic "skin" but nothing found in the threads. So I let my request come out.
Anybody an idea where to get a "Dell Streak" Skin ? - I am just in re-design of a multi-functional website (blog, media player/web tv (stream), html5-PDF-Reader, twitter-tweets, photo slides, eShop etc. ...), which shall be re-designed for compatibility visited by mobile devices (especially with Android OS) etc. ...
So the idea is, as I did a 1st test successfully with the HTC skin (thank's to Sickbox for the "HTC Droid Eris AVD Skin") to check out how all looks on a bigger screen as the Dell Streak has. If you read PDFs (html5) of Scribd on HTC it looks horrible. Not very practicable... maybe I need a specific "plugin" to swap a PDF format into a "pure text" format for the smaller screens of smart phones.
Anyhow, the new bigger screen size (5 inch, WVGA (800x480)) looks very interesting, as it might be used as an eBook reader, Video player, same good for web browsing with community ability (Facebook, Myspace)), a mix of mini PC, smart phone, iPad and Kindle, maybe (In Germany we say: "The egg giving whool milk pig" (eier-legende Wollmilch-Sau).
People who do not need it for heavily telephoning on the road, the bigger size is OK, I would say. Much better for SMS writing than the tiny key buttons like on a Motorola or for heavy business users the BlackBerry (which now is blocked in Saudi Arabia, same will be banned by Indian Government as just announced, so it looks so fare RIM does not decrypte the email traffic).
I'd like to test the Dell Streak 1st via Android SDK as it is too expen...sive, yet to buy(maybe Dell might sponsor me . I would do all of usability test what should be done, Mr. Dell - even in very rough conditions (and not in a laboratory).
Seriously: This tablet PC (so I would call it) now is offered for German market since 5th August. But !!!! - If you calculate the whole price you fall off the chair, total costs with some extras (e.g. car set, bag, etc. ...) round about 900 EUR. Oh, thank's dell you reduce it with 29 EUR free shipping. (! A joke !). Definitely too expensive... for 900 EUR you get something much better. I am very happy with my DELL Studio 15 laptop I use since one year. It costed only 900 EUR.
In UK via O2 ( www . o2.co.uk/dellstreak ) it seems little bit cheaper with a
2 years contract (monthly 41.88 EUR/35 GBP). But !! - Again a big But ! - After Amazon just prized down its Kindle to 140 EUR (189 US$) and you same can get a HTC Android smart phone cost free with a flat rate contract for 30 EUR per month (European provider 1&1) I think, Dell has to re-think about its huge prizing... I would pay maximum something between 350-450 EUR (inclusive shipping free) for a Dell Streak contract free... that would be OK.
Anybody knows about the source for downloading the skin? I use Eclipse and Android SDK on a Windows Vista mashine. Yeah, yeah... don't beat me ! - I am not a developer, just a user mainly in focus for "media producation" and compatibility of web content. (Rec.: As Dev of course I would use Linux (which I use for a RAID system)
Would thank you for a tip or even a zip file with the skin . So fare... TC/Take it easy. SM2010.
Welcome to the Streak Family my friend
tks lufc for the warm welcome... so I see: you are already a proud Dell Streak owner, hm ? - Or do you have it on your wish list like me ? - How is it in UK with that geeky man's toy ? - You have a button posted "SIM FREE/Unlocked". What does that mean ? (Sorry for my 1000 questions, I am just curious - job sickness.) Can you only buy the Streak with O2 contract on Green Island? So fare I am informed correctly O2 introduced Dell Strike in UK... I really would love to get one (but not for 900 Euros).
Happy day ! - SM2010.
------------
P.S.: When can I post "external links". I already wanted as I am used as cultural journalist to name my sources. But when I click on post I get the answer that I am not allowed to do so. Is it just because I am "newbee" here ?

You theoretically should be able to get the streak for around 500 euros.
However I'm not sure if you have any referals websites like we have?
www.quidco.com give 10% off the order with Dell, therefore it becomes £400 then convert that to Euros....about 83p per Euro?
Hell, send the cash to me and I'll order it and send it over to you!

German market is covered exclusively by DELL on its own (via Dell . de website). We have no (virtual) retailers here. For the Streak Dell deals with MediaMarkt which is one of the biggest multiple shops for Electronics (in any form) over all the country. Very unusual Dell does this. As I am already customer at DELL, hereby I get nearby weekly special price offers "voucher coded" directly, regular its 5% price reduction.

OK, got it, round about 482 EUR. Will check out Quidco. That sounds much better than 900 EUR (which is all inclusive truthfully to say.) - The basic price (Dell Strike Red or Carbone) for home office user in Germany is: 628 EUR (inclusive shipping which is charged at 29 EUR).
Many thank's for your offer, Amdathlonuk. 1st I like to check out the screen (see my 1st posting in this thread).
Still have the hope that anywhere in the world a developer created the Dell Streak skin for Android SDK.
P.S.: "Who searches will find". Reffering the "MediaMarkt" distribution I found following link: bit.ly/c402mL - It a Dell Strike as unlocked version for 599 EUR same as on DELL's own website. Aha...

Stream your movie collection to your phone (working with a catch)

I stumbled across and interesting fact the other day that I had never noticed. Picasa will allow you to upload video. As a bonus the max file size is 1gb per video on PC (for some reason the Picasa software on Mac is limited to 100mb), sorry Mac user.
Once the video is uploaded Google converts the file to Flash. This is exactly the same principal as YouTube, but there is no video length cap. It may take some time for the file to be converted. In my experience with a 250mb avi episode of Weeds, it took about 20 minutes to upload the file and for it to be converted for playback. I do have a very fast Fiber based connection so the times may be different for those with cable or DSL.
Once its uploaded and ready to play its as simple as going into the Gallery app and clicking on the video you want to play. The quality is just about perfect and streams without issue on 3g.
Now for the downside. Picasa only gives you 1gb of storage for free. The prices for additional storage are not too bad though as you can see below.
20 GB ($5.00 USD per year)
80 GB ($20.00 USD per year)
200 GB ($50.00 USD per year)
400 GB ($100.00 USD per year)
1 TB ($256.00 USD per year)
2 TB ($512.00 USD per year)
4 TB ($1,024.00 USD per year)
8 TB ($2,048.00 USD per year)
16 TB ($4,096.00 USD per year)
Now for the upsides to this problem. As it stands right now If you decide to not pay for your storage again next year, Google will NOT remove your files. You simply can not add more files.
Additionally you CAN add more then one Google account to your phone and have it sync properly.
The best part about this is that it will play flawlessly on ANY android that has the new Gallery. I might be incorrect but it needs to be the Google gallery as the HTC version on my friends phone does not show his picasa folders. I have tested this on my G1 running 2.2 and the video plays flawlessly.
I currently have a few friends and we are going to chip in on getting 1tb and start dumping our movies on there. Anyone else interested? Hit me up on PM if so.
That is very cool. Good find. I am not certain I would trust my "library" online due to the potential legalities. For the money this would be a simply trouble free solution. I am still hoping someone looks down a server variation for people to use from their media servers\centers. I would feel more comfortable with that.
I agree, but since this folder would NEVER be made public it should not raise any flags. I hope.
I'm wondering how long it would take to transfer 4TB.

Good find. I don't see a problem with legalities if they are put in a private folder. I will try this with some of the movies on my computer and report back

I'll do it for you.
If you pay the current average price (about $6 right now), then you get:
Edge
Anomaly: Warzone Earth
World of Goo
Osmos
These work for Android, Mac, Linux, and Windows. The downloads from humble bundle are DRM free (they are indie devs). The money can be split between the devs, charity, and Humble Bundle. You can choose the split. Also, they will occasionally add additional games to the bundle during the sale (about 12 days left) and they will be automatically added to your purchase if you have already bought the bundle.
I've purchased every bundle since the second one and haven't regretted anything.
And no, just because they are DRM free doesn't mean we are going to post the downloads for you. Spend the $6 and support a thriving community.
They will also give you steam keys after you purchase them if you so desire.
Toki Tori is added to Humble Bundle.

My motivation
I wish to accelerate development and rebellos has expressed interest. The best way to do this is to get a device into the hands of a well-qualified developer who can work at the binary level (not code, binary)... we need to call in "the big guns".
Development
In order to advance our devices to be able to run ICS, CM9, or Ubuntu properly (not just alpha or beta) we need to complete work on the Android 3.0 kernel. The kernel is being developed here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1480586
The technical details
Our devices are advertised as "Dual-Core", however that's not entirely true. They're actually Quad-Core. Of course there's Dual Cortex A9's but there is a subsystem in the OMAP4430 processor called the "Dual M3 Subsystem", also known as "Ducati_M3", or just Ducati.
The Ducati Subsystem is basically a video processor. It handles acceleration of video, allowing you to watch 1080i video in a browser and speeds up rendering of other on-screen items. It's basically a video card.
The software which runs Ducati is a totally separate Real-Time-Operating-System.. An RTOS, kinda like a bootloader. After the device boots up, the kernel feeds software into the Dual M3 Subsystem. This initialises the Ducati and it simply accelerates video as requested by the system.
The problem which requires a solution
Athough the Nook Tablet's OMAP4430 has more documentation available than any other current processor; and theoretically it should be easy to port anything to it.... Our device was designed in a non-standard way. Our devices are wired in a way that uses a timer in a way that was not intended.
The Solution
We need an expert with ARM Assembly language to:
Separate the Ducati firmware into individual files
decompile the separated Ducati firmware into raw bits and bytes
modify the individual instructions in Ducati's Real Time Operating System
recompile the Ducati firmware into usable form.
Why Rebellos?
I've worked with ERD rebellos in the past and I know for a fact that he knows ARM assembly inside and out. On top of that his day-job is to actually WRITE Real-Time Operating Systems.
Rebellos' related list of qualifications:
Rebellos created the Hummingbird Interceptor Bootloader (The bootloader which allows UnBrickable Mod) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1233273
Rebellos created bootloaders which allow Android OS to boot on Samsung Bada OS phones (Bada is a closed source Operating System) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1343706
Rebellos has decompiled and turned GUI applications into command-line applications using nothing but Assembly language http://code.google.com/p/hummingbird-hibl/source/list?num=25
Rebellos designs similar Real-Time Operating Systems in his 9-5 job.
Conclusion
With all of this in mind, I see a totally clear path to getting ICS/CyanogenMod 9/Ubuntu running on the Nook Tablet... Get Rebellos a device to enable him to work on the Video Acceleration.
If you can't develop, this is your chance to contribute to development and to get the same device which you own into a truly skilled developer's hands. If you can develop, contributing to this cause will build the foundation which your development is based upon.

Mouse, speakers, and a decent enough monitor for now. I may be able to get a decent keyboard for cheap from a friend, so mostly I'm only focused on the tower itself.

Any other preferences on size, upgrades? At that price point you may be able to find a great deal after the holidays on PCs off the shelf that are discounted to clear them out. I used to suggest going to older/used hardware and cleaning it up but I've largely gone away from that this year since there are few reasons not to buy a current gen motherboard. One of the mods found a steal at Costco that was essentially a $1100+ tower marked down. You're not going to beat that building your own in many cases - advantages to bulk purchases.
I'll put together one on PCPartPicker here in a little bit (At that price point you're best off going AMD Ryzen) but I'll also take a quick run around a few online shops and see if there's any standout deals that may offer you alternatives to consider.

Whynotboth.gif ? (Seriously, more than one option is hardly a bad thing to have here.)
Edit: Okay, here's my list. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/2ZnqYr
No CD/DVD drive. Plenty of places to get Windows 10 for a decent price.
If you can squeeze any extra money put it into a 240GB+ SSD. Other than that this should handle anything at 1080p.

Speaking of OS, I was able to get a Win 7 key over the phone from MS a few years ago for 40, then upgraded to 10 for free. Wouldn't hurt to give them a call, either.
Ditto on the no cd/DVD drive. A majority of media consumption is through USB thumb drives, including OS installs. I haven't touched my DVD drive in some 4+ years, now.
I'm just getting settled into work for the day, but I'll see if can compile a pc part picker as well. =)
No need for a DVD drive. Internet and flash drives are superior, but I have a spare drive that I could use. I also have a 1TB HDD and 750GB HDD that I plan on using, so I could skip a HDD and budget for an SSD instead.
I'm going to dual boot Linux, but I haven't settled on a distro yet.

His 8th birthday is coming up, and he's tired of consoles. He wants a PC. Our budget is about $650.
What would XDA do?

The pcpartpicker website has a forum also, you can get very sound advice for building a rig there, it's what they specialize in. XDA members are knowledgeable about PC and know what's going on, some of us extremely knowledgeable, but those guys over there live, eat and breathe PC the way XDA does with android and the various mobile devices.
Just my two cents.
Is that 650 CAD or US cause that will make a huge difference on what you can get.....

US.
Still haven't pulled the trigger yet. Wish I had, though. Nvidia cards are selling like crazy and DDR4 RAM prices are ridiculous.
Damn Bitcoin miners.
