[Q] NookColor installing apps - Nook Color Themes and Apps

I have a NookColor with Zeam Launcher, Go Launcher EX and ADW Launcher installed. There are quite a few apps that I have tried to install, but always get the "app not installed error message" Not sure what I need to do to get around this. Please help.
Thanks

if you are installing them from the market, you may want to try this:
go to setting / applications / manage applications / market / and then clear the cache and data.
if you are trying to side load an apk make sure you have "allow mock locations" checked.

not sure where to find allow mock locations setting.

I believe he means the "allow unknown/outside install" tab in the settings menu, under "applications". Tick that so it allows any apk to be installed on the Nook.
Yes, you can install the amazon app store - go through the sign up procedure on the amazon website to receive an email with the download link included. Once you have that, open the email up through the browser on your Nook, click on the link, and you're on your way.

If none of the above work, install ROM Manager and then use its Fix Permissions option.

Can anyone upload or PM the Market application?

I have the market application but it doesn't work...
I tried installing another Vending. apk but it says *CANNOT INSTALL ON THIS DEVICE* or something like that.
So if anyone is kind enough to upload the current vending. apk they have that is working.
Thanks, Zm4.

What do you mean "doesn't work"?
Does the market launch at all?

When trying to first run it.
It gives me an error and force closes.
After that I run it nothing shows up only the Market but no applications on the home screen of the market.
When I go into the categories I can see them.
I have tried to download many times but it always stays on starting to download...
Its really annoying.
Try to change Vending.apk permissons to rw-r--r--

Is the problem with the UAE carrier or your market apk?
It says in your sig you are "Rooted with Market Fix" - did that fix stop working? Did it involve changing what carrier the market sees your phone as?
Here is an app that can change what country/carrier the market sees your phone as:
MarketAccess is a complete rewrite of the MarketEnabler. It is an application which emulates the SIM card of the chosen operator and makes paid apps accessible in the Android Market. You need it if you want to buy apps and games from Market, but Market is not (yet) available in your country or for your operator.

I'll also attach my Vending.apk in case it can help. Permissons are set to rw-r--r-- on my phone..

Tip: Installing apps that don't appear in the Market

One thing I have noticed is that sometimes an app doesn't appear in the Market because the Market doesn't "think" it's compatible with your hardware. A good example is the app "AP Mobile".
The solution for me is to use the app "AppBrain Market Sync" to find the App. Then, click the Market button within AppBrain the you'll go right to the download link within the Market.
There may be other ways to get apps which the Market app hides, but this works for me.
This doesn't work for me, when I click the market link it just doesn't find it. I'm running 1.1 autonootered.
Doesn't work for me either.
Only works for me if I pair it with "fast web installer." Then you install directly through the appbrain app and never go to the market.

[Q] Remove app from Android Market 'My Library'

So I use the Amazon app store and GetJar for free 'paid' apps. Some of these apps are showing up in "My Library" on my Google Android Market account. Is there a way to remove them from the Android Market account?
One recent problem is Wave Launcher which used to be free on GetJar. I don't see it listed anymore on GetJar and I can't even buy it from the Android Market since it thinks it's already purchased (but declines the 'install' saying it's not purchased). A 'delete' button like in the Amazon app store library would solve all of this...
Short of changing google accounts, I don't see any options on how to fix this. Anyone have any ideas? The problem is on my market library, not my phone (I know how to remove market links, etc.). Thanks.
I to have this problem its very annoying their has to be a way to clean it up.
I actually used the 'report' app function on the google market and got a reply back. They have "forwarded your case to a specialist to begin working to resolve your issue as soon as possible". We'll see what comes of it. Amazon's app store has a simple delete button in that library. It doesn't seem like that would be too hard to implement.
did you ever get a reply for this?
would love to be able to remove all the apps i just simply try for the sake of testing and i want them gone.....
listen to your users G!
I believe Titanium Backup can do this if you are rooted.

You can "fix" market links with it by long pressing on the app in question.

On the website I don't see an option, but it is possible on your phone.
I am not sure if all versions of the play store have this option (I am using Jelly Bean 4.1.2):
When I open the play store on my phone I can remove previous installed apps from the list.
Go to: Play Store > My Apps > All
There you can remove an app by tapping the Ø icon

Yeahp. It works.
I deleted some yesterday on my mobile, but they were still on my web "Other apps in my library".
Today, I deleted some again and reloaded the webpage. They disappeared.
Thanks for the tip.
Ok, maybe it needs some time to sync. Great it works!

[Q] Adding 3rd party apps to home / Android market

I mainly plan to use my NT as a reader, but I am interested in adding Kindle / Amazon App Store / Android Marketplace just to have the access. I've been successful except for 1 thing.
I'm not interested in a special launcher as 90% of my activity is going to be straight from the NT home page. What I'm wanting to do is put shortcuts to the third party apps on the stock NT home page. Before you say it, YES I've read the FAQ.
The FAQ directs me to get "Nook Color App Manager" from the Android Marketplace. 2 questions:
1 - Android market won't let me D/L anything. I login fine with my Google account info, but it tells me there are no Android phones associated with my login and refuses the download. I can see the app on the screen, but can't get it. How do I get around that since I don't have an Android phone??
2 - I've read that with the newer versions, the app manager isn't going to allow me to put shortcuts on my home screen anyway. Can someone confirm or deny if this functionality still works? I'm on rooted 1.4.0 by the way.
Thanks all!

Try clearing the data and cache for the market in app management. That should get it to show up.

Not sure I understand what you're htelling me. Clearing the cache should get WHAT to show up?? Market won't let me download it. Tells me there is no phone associated with my google account.

I believe clearing data & cache in the Market app will force your NT to re-associate with Android Market.
I believe that is one of your aims.
It didnt work. I'm logged into the Android market through the web browser and my gmail account. Is that right, or is there a standalone app for the NT? When i click the web d/l link on the app I want, a popup comes that says something to the effect of "there is no Android phone associated with this account. Please sign in with another account."
Does that make sense?

It would assist others in helping you if you would differentiate between using the NT or your PC. (Both platforms have browsers and can access a Google account.)
There is a stand alone app for your device "Android Market". I believe it comes in the gApps package when using Indirect's root method.

Depends on if you are using the "Market" app or a web browser.
OK. I think I got it now. I don't like having alot of extra "stuff" on my NT, so I only used the root script to do the root and declined everything else. i went back and let the Gapps install, and it seems to be working now. Sorry for not be clearer in my original question, but all is well now.
Thanks again!
@Vol4Ever
Glad you got it working!

Problem with Nook Tablet...

I went and made it so my NT was 1.4.0 and then blocked it using the OTA update provided by AdamOutlier(sp?) and the version number says 9.9.9 now. However, I installed the Go Launcher Ex. Unfortunately, I accidentally clicked the button 'keep as default' and then clicked the normal Nook Tablet home button. So now I can no longer get to the the GO Laucher. Is there a way to get it back? Unable to locate any setting that I can change it back to.

Absolutely. There's a great app in the Android Market called Default App Manager Lite. It's free and it allows you to clear default apps, including what your home button is sent to.
Here's a link to the app's market page; if you access it from your Nook's browser you should be able to open it in the Market:

Unfortunately, im unable to use the market with my device as i do not beluve it is actually rooted. Which is wierd bc I ran the nook and zergy and I believe it was supposed to work but never did. I did gain the ability to install a third party manga reader app which is really the only thing I wanted extra so I was ok. Now I am unable to reach it though and im getting manga withdrawls lol...
