[Q] Verizon To Metro pcs - Fascinate Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Okay, I have looked and have not found the same or similar problem I am having. I have a rooted and flashed samsung fascinate from verizon. I am trying to get it to metro pcs. The guys a metro say that if I flash it with a MEID that is in there system then the can add it to there network and put unlimited on it. there flasher that they had would not work (Houdini i think). I know it is possible I have seen it and they sell them already flashed to metro on ebay, craigslist, ect... Any know of the file that I need to flash it to? Please help a noob....

No one wants to tackle this one? Okay...

can't help unfortunately but if im not mistaken check the 'general' section I believe there is a thread there about flashing a phone yourself to metro... it should have any programs or links to stuff you need
edit: sorry can't link from phone but I looked through and saw a few metro pcs related threads, one you might want is 'Flash Your Phone to MetroPCS Instructions' by waqataq I think
edit 2: read through quickly and it seems what you want is a program called QPST
tapatalked from my KangBanged Fascinate

Yes, I have tried that program and you still need a specific .tar file to flash your phone with. And all the other threads are for specific phones(Mine not included).

Flashing Droid 2 Global To Cricket

Hello, I have a Droid 2 global that has already been flashed, but not under my number, I just got the phone activated in my name, so I have talk and text going on, but I am told I need to fully flash the phone again, since there arent really any guides on how to flash the droid 2 global, I have been looking at the regular droid 2 flash methods(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=881883) an droid X methods because someone on this forum suggested either way im having problems finding the files (Autostart.sh & U2nl files, CRICKET PRL for your area) for the first guide, im on the 45$ plan and rooted already if that makes a difference, any help suggested is welcomed

There is no need to reflash the phone!!! I got everything working now, simply autostart.sh was missing in the data/opt/ folder and I changed old phone number to my number by dialing "##program" on the phone.
Everything is great now, completely working with cricKet.

They seem to have been able to figure it out, I just don't know how to do first part, the second part is what allowed me to get talk and text
I know this is an old post but for anyone who was wondering this as well here it is:
You will actually need to have someone flash your phone again because you need a program called CDMA workshop, you need to write your NV items (which can be obtained from a website), and you need to know how to modify your APNs to use with Cricket. I work with Cricket and I'm one of the store's techs so I have experience in flashing all kinds of phones

[q] htc evo4 boost/metro

Im not gonna ask the obvious how to guides ive used google and found them and programs needed but i have a few questions.
if i do it for metro and follow the guide do i still need to go get the phone metroflashed (i dont have one in my state) or just follow guide cause it says no where in any of the ones i found they u need to get the phone flashed by metro at all.
and for boost i know you have to do the donor phone with it
last question is has anyone got kicked off there plan for having the evo on there. for example any way for them to find out after you do this ?
thanks in advance for anyone who takes the time to read and help thanks
From everything I've read you need to have metro FLASH the phone in store FIRST before following the guide and installing Metrodroid.
I'm trying to find out myself now if possible to follow the unlocking guide AFTER Metrodroid has been installed.

Need some help here...

Please forgive me if there are other threads.. But this is an old phone and al ow-activity device...
I bought a Verizon Mogul from ebay. Was working just fine until I decided I wanted to flash a ROM onto it. The ONLY tool I could fine from any tutorial was some titan unlock tool... All it seemed to do was bring me to the bootloader. Well, now I'm stuck in the bootloader and can't get out. I tried this exit bootloader program for Windows, but it doesn't think my phone is actually plugged in (not compatible with Windows 7?)
Other threads have suggested using some kind of .nbh file, but there is no region of the internet of which this mysitcal file exists. What do I do?
And finally... can someone provide the files needed that every tutorial says you need to flash a rom on this phone? They don't seem to exist on the internet either.
I realize this phone is old. But I like it because I can use it without a data plan
Thank you to anyone who helps.
There are some tutorials - I'll look to see what I have later. I haven't used this phone in awhile

Did you get it figured out there?

Persistent Network Signal loss

My samsung galaxy II is constantly losing network but when I put my SIM into my old phone it works fine. I've tried everything I could find on here i.e roooting, upgrading to ICS but have had no luck.
I bought (well I paid out his contract) the phone from a friend who moved overseas and he was on a different network (Optus) and I'm on Vodafone but my SIM works (just not all the time! ) so I don't know if that has anything to do with it! Anyways I wont take it back to Optus because I wasn't their client to begin with and Vodafone wont help,
Any help is much appreciated as I'm really frustrated! Thanks for reading

Is your phone rooted? If yes try flashing a new modem.. NELP3 works fine..
If not it's most probably a network issue

Even I had a similar problem a while back, any SIM card, would loose signal completely only on the SII turns out it was a hardware issue, I had to give in my phone to the service center.
To flash a modem if you have heimdall installed, open up the command prompt/terminal in the directory where you have downloaded the modem and extracted the modem.bin file, and type in
heimdall flash --modem modem.bin
or you can use the GUI it has an option for modem, but the modems aren't universally good for everyone, they are region specific, in my country [India] I use the DDKL1 modem, you should look for some modem that's native to your region.
OK. What you need to do is read the Stickies & brush up on Android/SGS2 basics.
Secondly, if the phone is rooted & you have CWRecovery (boot into recovery by turning the phone off, then holding power/volume up/home buttons), you can easily flash modem packages.
I'm also using Voda AU, so I'll get you started. The famous DUKJ1 modem has worked well for many people using Voda in Australia. Unfortunately, XDA doesn't seem to want to allow me to attach files to forum posts at the moment, or I would have attached a copy of KJ1 to this post. Sooo....Here's a link where you can get it
Also, if you do a Google search along the lines of "XDA SGS2 modems" or similar (use your imagination), you should find plenty of posts from here which have links to modems you can flash if KJ1 doesn't work well for you. If that is the case (it doesn't work well for you), then it's a matter of flashing as many modems as you have to in order to find one that works well for you.
The issue could also be caused by the gear/spectrum Voda is using in your area (hence your sim works well in another phone). I guess you're only going to find that out if you contact Voda & ask for support (after you've tried every solution you can find on here I guess).
Now, if your phone isn't rooted, the Stickies have all the information you need in order to root it.
Edit - Also, questions go in Q&A ;-)
Thanks guys, MistahBungle will try the DUKJ1
Also would anyone have an idea as to how I can delete all the optus(old carrier) stuff off my phone?? Ta
You need to have a rooted phone to get rid of the bloatware. You can use an app like Titanium Backup Pro (Look for it on Google Play) to uninstall or freeze (which I recommend) apps you don't want. This thread is a good starting point for working out what you can/can't remove/freeze.
To our friend who added the tag to the thread, we know that Captain Obvious, thanks very much. However for someone new/who currently has little Android/SGS2 knowledge & already has a pre-rooted phone, avoiding Odin (and the inevitable problems many n00bs have with it) & using CWRecovery if it's already on the phone sounds like a sensible WTG to me.

[Q] Stock modem not working

i just got a not my 2nd one , ok so this note was unlock by calling att so after that i put in my simple mobile card and every thing was fine till today not getting 4g or edge any thing cant make or recive calls nore msg questing is am wondering is it becase of att stock modem or do i have to root and install custom rom with a tmo modem ? i was hoping to leave phone as is just in case official update comes in on jb ... omg what do i do to be honest to what happend to my other note am afraid to flash any thing on this one but if i have to i will
Have you paid or checked your account balance lately? Removed and replaced your SIM card improperly? And regarding T-Mobile, did you ever even have it operating with T-Mobile SIM card, as I'm lead to assume it's an at&t model?

Hi. By reading some of your other posts I understand your fears, but it's best to stay calm and not get all rooted and flash happy before you access your situation. You bought or replaced your previous i717 Note. Again, I'm assuming it's an at&t model, just from your OP. Already unlocked. You are a T-Mobile customer, but wanted to stay stock because a rumor of up coming update. Well truth is, you should bought the T-Mobile version for that to happen. You do not have the correct modem software installed. So you wanted to run on a AWS network (T-Mobile,wind,moblicity,...) Not the end of the world, BUT if you mess this shiny new phone up again, just maybe...
Remember, don't get panicked and rush ahead of yourself. Follow the right process for Rooting and installing a custom recovery. ClockworkMod or TeamWinRecoveryMod, both work great. People are suggesting the latter Mod, I personally fought to get my CWM updated correctly, and have read it's easier to install TWRP. Once this far it's fairly important to create a NANDROID backup of your factory ROM, I definitely suggest it. So there. A shiny new phone with a world of shiny possibilities. You then need to get some custom modem/radio/baseband (multiple terms same meaning in this/your case) software installed. Main thing is to not rush. Understand what you are doing, before doing it. Once rooted warranty is gone and it's on you and only you to be held responsible for your actions. All the required guides, steps, files are all here stickied in the correct locations of the i717 Note forum. In fact, this has been asked and answered mulitiple times and ways in the last few days and posts regarding T-Mobile and Wind. Quick look around the Q&A section even give you great results.
