Is there a change log or any known worthwhile reason to update to this version?

I believe it's updated every time a Gapps type app updates, so I'd bet it was the recent Voice update.
Zero reason to "upgrade" as all of the google apps (to my knowledge) update from the market now.

a bugfix is a bugfix and an update is an update, no reason other than keeping current.

[Q] GPS not working in CM10.1 nightlies on XT910

Hi,
For a couple of days now, the GPS doesn't work with the CM10.1 nightlies.
I checked my device with an app called "Z-Device test" and it says there is no GPS in my phone.
Nevertheless, the hardware is OK, as it works with the stable builds of CM.
Any ideas?

I'm having similar problems. Although Z-Device test thinks that I do have GPS. None of the apps ever get a reading and the little icon on the status bar never appears.
I've tried resetting it using GPS status to reset all cached GPS data and also 'Download GPS assistance data' but it has not helped.
Its been fixed... New nightlies are back with gps :|

OK, I'm on cm-10.1.2. Is it fixed in a newer one than this?

Let me elaborate, sorry I'm relatively new to cyanogen mod. I've got it set to nightlies and check for updates is turned on to daily. I've also checked manually but there are no updates available.
If I check the build date in about phone it is Fri Jul 12 12:25:13 PDT 2013.
This correlates to:

There seem to be more recent updates but I'm not sure how to tell if I've got them..
Hopefully it will start to roll down into the other CM based roms now as well.
It may be that you have to delete your ROM as the dirty upgrade will also contain the old/broken things as well. I had to re-do mine from a fresh corrected rom before things started to work as I expected. My $.02.
It has started working this evening...does CM update quietly? I thought I would see a different update version install if it did update.
Perhaps it has fixed itself somehow. I'm a bit confused about this.

You have to flash the nightlies through recovery in order to update. A full wipe is recommended before flashing.

Works fine here, try factory resetting your device.
Oh, OK thanks for letting me know it’s OK on yours, must be something I’ve installed then, though it only happened after I took the latest OTA update.
Resetting is a bit heavy handed for me, instead I think I’ll install ‘Simple Control’ from the PlayStore, and it’s much more configurable than the generic one that I had before my v6 update

If factory resetting is heavy handed use an app like titanium backup.

Yes I’d love to use Titanium (I have paid for it as well) but a phone hast to be rooted to use it!
My understanding is; you cannot install FOTH updates on the original ROM while your phone is rooted?
So do you have Titanium installed?

Yes I do and yes you can, all you need to do before installing an OTA update is do a full unroot from the SU app then just flash the root packages again when the update is finished.
OK that’s great news for me, so I would like to copy what you have done to the letter if I may, so may I ask did you follow one of the Rooting guidance threads on this Elephone 9000 forum, and if you did could you tell me which one please?
I have looked for myself but am not confident enough to go for it on my own, simply because I read things like “Doesn't work on latest 13th march 2016 rom!!” as on this link http://bbs.elephone.hk/thread-9910-1-1.html#.Vx9sv_krJaS

Unable to sign into Google account in CM 13

I am new to XDA forums but I am experienced with flashing ROMs, etc. So today I downloaded CM 13 Nightlies (build 20160605) for my LG G3 Verizon VS985. I flashed both ROM via TWRP. Everything seemed to work great, even after booting up. After playing around with this new ROM for some time and then I tried to sign into my Google account. So I went to setting→accounts→add account→google account. The Google app seemed to open up pretty nice without crashing, I was taken to the screen with "Make the most out if your device. Sign into your Google account", etc. Then real thing begins here; when I press the 'Next' button in the bottom right of the screen , it is faded out. I can do nothing with that at the moment. Can anyone suggest me a way to fix this? Thanks in advance
Hi! Welcome to XDA!
It sounds like you do indeed have GAPPs flashed, is that correct? I don't play with non-stock ROMs much any more so I can't be much help, but I thought I'd confirm about GAPPs at least. Also, was the GAPPs package you flashed a common one that was recommended? In the past, the last times I did fool with CyanogenMod (probably a year ago), I used to use Tiny GAPPs Zero, which was essentially just the very basic required GAPPs since I like to install all the rest of the Google Apps from the Play Store.
One more stupid question. You are connected to the internet successfully, right?
It's always a possibility that the trouble lies within the nightly build of CM13, since some builds are apt to be more buggy than others. If they have a RC of CM13 (don't know if they do), I'd be tempted to use that instead as it might be more stable - if that's even the cause of trouble.

That's a negative. My understanding is the soak test is needed in the plus because of finger print scanner issues. I have the XT1625 and it runs great without the soak test. Flash the quark kernel too. Waaaaaay better benchmark results.
stkpxl said:
I just installed it. Definitely didn't need the soak test. VoLTE works too when I called my voicemail to check. No crash on the Gallery app either like I've seen reported. And the best part for me is that Republic Wireless works with it and the app works too! Usually they don't support custom ROMs but this time everything works.

Glad to hear you're all set up. Try quark kernel when you get a chance. Makes sure you get 2.0,because the other ones caused a boot loop for me.
I've just rooted my phone, I'm in 6.0.1, I just need to download and put this in SdCard, later Install w/o gapps and it will works?
I flashed the ROM and wiped and then flashed gapps, gallery is crashing for me.

Were you trying to install the arm64 gapps? I could only install the arm gapps.
I updated to the last nightly build which seems to have fixed the gallery bug for me, but now the camera can't access the sdcard to save pictures or videos when the card is set as internal.
Running 12222016 as of this morning. Have been using it since it first hit the streets. Seems a little unstable. While it's running, it runs great. However, for no apparent reason it reboots my device. I can't seem to pinpoint the cause as it happens sporadically and randomly.
I noted that the blue light filter "sort of" works. It has to be manually activated. Tried the automatic route but it's hit or miss.

That would be because the "other ones" are for MM based ROM's and 2.0/2.2 are for Nougat.

Im a dumb, I was installing other gapps, now Im not getting any issue, only about video recording but I'll fix it flashing a boot.img.
Thanks to all.
I always install ROM boot it then go to browser and search Gapps it automatically finds the one I need then just download and reboot to recovery and install so I don't have any issues the Roms are all comparable for bothering devices but I think arm is different between devices if that helps anybody

Hi,
I bought a Moto G4 for Christmas. I'll receive it tomorrow, and so I'm looking for a good custom rom. I had the Moto G 2014 LTE (thea) running CM14.1. I notice that the last CM build available for athene is the 20161225, and I'd like to know if it's stable. Does it have an option to make volume buttons control media volume instead of ringtone, for instance ?
Thank you, 'n have a nice day !
Yo is cm 14.1 gonna get xposed
I installed the CM 14.1 12/25 nightly on a XT1625 motoG4 non-plus. Upon reboot, the OS asked me to input my password. It was unable to decrypt my data.
I had a pattern PIN, so I looked up the proper numeric sequence and entered it, and the OS told me "my password was correct but the data was corrupt" and suggested I wipe my phone.
I tried this several times with different passwords, and even with completely incorrect passwords it said it was correct but the data corrupt. So I had to wipe my data. After wiping data, nougat 7.1 came up fine.
Note I have a SDcard set as adaptable storage. My guess (and it is only a guess) is this is what screwed me over.
Has anyone been using this for a while? I know it's nightly, but just curious if it's mostly usable. Would like to get off MM and tired of waiting for Official Nougat

You can use the latest official version of CyanogenMod. So far I had neither bugs nor crashes. The last version is cm-14.1-20161225-NIGHTLY-athene.zip
Otherwise, you can also use the official soak test from Motorola. This is also based on Anroid 7.0

Thanks! I found the latest Nightly and also an updated LineageOS (replacement for Cyanogen since they've stopped) version, might try them both out. I was perusing the Soak Test and saw it doesn't work with XT1625 devices unfortunately. I have the XT1625 non-Amazon version with Republic Wireless. Saw someone posted earlier in this thread that Republic Wireless was working fine on CM 14.1 Nightly, so that gave me some incentive as well.

The real problem about it is the updates... will it be supported continuously or just 1 month. Considering PA's track records I doubt they will be able to sustain it for long. But I still have my fingers crossed.. Can you please do me a favor and install the HDLR camera zip found in the themes and apps forum in n6p and check if it works? if it does I will be flashing PA right away.
Also @seangeezy122 please do check the kernel and grab a couple of screenies

I'm kinda sad. I've downloaded the rom twice now, and I've been clean flashing it, but my Nexus 6P boots up and then shortly freezes at the setup screen and reboots. It does this continuously. I'm using the latest BeansGapps, if that helps.
EDIT: I flashed just the ROM without Gapps and it works. Maybe my BeansGapps are corrupt and need to be re-downloaded. I'll give it a try.
EDIT 2: Okay, this ROM doesn't like BeansGapps. It restarted once, but it's chugging along the setup process just fine now.

did you use the full or mini gapps package
Flashed the rom with openGapps stock package, working fine for the moment. Looks promising but lacks extra features that other roms such as pure and RR have like hold power for flashlight and down right clear all button.
The MD5 hash for the rom file is CE696A1C396864B23F40A37CF9A4C5D6 if anyone is wondering.

Ever since MM PA isnt really about the features but more on the smooth side of the UI and a small handpicked own festures. Thats why before on MM I used some xposed modules to incorporate those small features I miss. Though this lack of features shouldn't be a bother to minimalists like me.
Which gapps beans or banks or open?
And which versions for vendor n2g470?
And where's the official page... Google+?
