BestBuy(and other) upgrade checkers say I'm fully eligible now, Sprint.com says... - HTC EVO 3D

on their website I'm only eligible for the $75 upgrade now and on 9/1/2011 I am eligble for the full upgrade.
BestBuy.com(RadioShack.com, Amazon.com...) upgrade checker says I'm fully eligible as of this past June 1st. I have a preorder at my Best Buy. Should I worry about what the Sprint website says will I be ok based on what the BestBuy upgrade checker says?
I need to call Sprint tomorrow and change my plan from SERO to SERO-P before Friday, so I'm wodering if I should just let the upgrade thing go as is and be ok or try to get them to give me an early update.
Anyone else see these different dates between the oline upgrade checkers and what Sprint lists?
FYI, My 2 yr contract is up 11/1/2011.
Thanx

You get an upgrade every 22 month for silver members. Your contract ends 11/1 and your upgrade is 9/1.

That's what I expected, but all the other online upgrade checkers show me my 11/1 contract end date(correct) and a "fully eligible" date of 6/1. I'm just wondering if it's something specific to these stores allowing earlier upgrades.
Doesn't the information that Best Buy and others display comes directly from Sprint anyway?

Well, I gave Sprint a call directly and according to them I am currently eligible for the full upgrade and was eligible as of June 1st, which is what the upgrade checker was saying.
Not sure why, cause I was expecting the 9/1 date, but I'm not gonna argue.
As a side note, man was that a pleasant experience with Customer Service. It's NOTHING like it used to be. Kudos to Sprint on that one.

Just curious why you need to upgrade to SERO-P before Friday? Why not just do it when you get the phone? They can do it all right there when it's ordered.

So the $199.99 is only good if you are upgrade-eligible? Not a blanket pricing for a new two year contact?

Right. But people have been lucky with Telesales and Retention and are getting their dates changed so that they can get the 2-year price now.

Because I fear Best Buy will not know what they are doing, when they do the activation and me losing SERO completely.

I sent a tweet to @sprintcares and asked if I could upgrade without penalty. They sent me a reply back within five minutes and after exchanging an e-mail, they allowed me to upgrade now. I'll be ordering my 3d soon.

The store I am getting my 3d from has already said I have the full upgrade, and that it is only good till june 30th. If I go past june 30th I have to wait till november. Now I'm not sure what that means but I'm not gonna argue...Especially since the site tells me, that november is my upgrade date.

Loose my Upgrade?

Hey everyone, I realize this thread is VERY common but I have a good question. I have a line that I upgraded in March and received $60 off my bill. I DID NOT use the phone upgrade though. Come April 1st will I lose this upgrade for the unsubsidized phone or can I wait for the EVO 3D and use it then?
Danke!
how ong have you been a customer? how much are you paying for your plan?
You'll still have your full upgrade after april 1st, after you use it then you are boned for two years, if your payment amount isn't great enough. Got that from a sprint rep. Hope this helps.
Edit: just talked to sprint and sad to say, after april first, you will revert to a two year upgrade. Sucks!

I talked to a sprint rep on the phone (someone in India) and basically told her that if they didn't give me the upgrade I would leave sprint for AT&T. I had AT&T before, no problem going back to them if they do a bait and switch on me. If you're polite and thoughtful, they probably will help you.
They transferred me to an American woman (probably because she was more experienced to handle people cancelling, most likely was retention), and she was able to make sure my upgrade would be transferred over. If it doesn't happen tomorrow, I'm switching carriers

I think that I'm going to call and try that. I have been with sprint for a while, not ten years but about 5, and I have waited on my upgrade since Nov for a better device to come out. I don't want to cancel and don't want to play the add a line/cancel a line game so I will try this. Thanks

looks like were all hearing mixed things....
i just got off the phone with sprint (india) and after 15 minutes and lots of hold, we came to the conclusion that while i am currently sprint premier, i will only qualify for premier silver after tomorrow.... normally that means every year i get $75 for an upgrade, and $150 every 22 months
but since i will be eligible for an upgrade (in june) under current premier qualifications, i will NOT lose that upgrade come evo 3d time.... but that AFTER i upgrade this time, i will change over to the new color system, and will only be eligible for $75 in june 2012, and $150 in april 2013.
i hope this helps people understand the situations
tl;dr : current premier upgrade = youll retain until after your next upgrade , then becomes silver or gold premier
Yes...there are many conflicting stories...i too am in the same situation. Basically my friend and sprint told me to upgrade and then return the upgrade and go back to my old phone. He told me that usually it will reset you back to eligible. I'm not sure if its going to work but if not I can always raise hell All who are eligible now and got word that you will "retain" eligibility please post your results after April 1. I will update once i return the phone.

I was told that I would lose my early upgrade on April 1st, so I would have to wait until my 2 yrs is up in November in order to get the discount.
i was told today by a sprint rep, That you shouldn't lose your upgrade. The change will start after u upgrade, then the two year or one year thing should start.
I received a letter from Sprint. I sent an email asking about the change and how long I've been with the company. I don't have the letter on my phone so I can't post it but paraphrasing it said that as of now (beginning of March when I got the letter) I would be eligible for a full upgrade June 1 (used an upgrade on my evo on launch day 6/4/2010). As of April 1 I would be reverted to premier silver status and would no longer be eligible for an upgrade. As of September 1 of this year I will reach 10 years with sprint and be switched to premier gold and receive yearly upgrades. When the pre-order date for the evo 3d is announced I'm going to try and get that changed. As of now though, according to the letter, I'm not eligible till 9/1.
It definitely seems that people are getting conflicting information. The letter I received is the same information that someone on the evo forum who works for sprint retentions gave.

The whole new Sprint Premiere thing is a little out in left field if you ask me. But it is much better than what Verizon is doing to everyone.
As for my upgrade I have been holding off on my upgrade since Oct 2010.
So I am sitting on a 150.00 credit to my Evo 3d.
My poor Evo 4g will feel so alone.
Which reminds me I need to goto sprint today and yell at them about my LG Optimus I put on my plan recently. (They didn't give me the line transfer credit, nor my 100.00 mail in rebate for the phone.)
Wonder why there would be different responses? Don't all of the sprint reps get the same info? Got a different response, myself, between the first day of ctia and when I posted...
Sent from my twopointthree heroc
I actually received a response back from my e-mail as well as a phone call from a an Account Services Specialist from Sprint and they offered to extend the upgrade until my contract ends. They definitely confirmed though that if you were Premier Silver before, you will lose the early upgrade until you qualify for Premier Gold.
I was eligible april 1st and thats when the premier program changed so I lost my upgrade and so I called sprint yesterday about my status and after 5 mins they agreed to change my status within 24 hours... they changed my upgrade status in less than 3 hours... but after i get the 3d i'm screwed for 22 months... but I'm getting the best buy buy back program so I will get like $300 or so back when i trade in to make up for not being able to upgrade yearly then I can just buy a new phone at regular price...
I just checked my account and I'm good to upgrade in Nov. I like what I see with the 3d but I think I'm going to hold out for the next big thing. Funny thing is my wifes line (secondary) got upgraded back in Oct thru wirefly but on the sprint site it still shows her eligible for an upgrade. We live in SD so when we got evos we had to change our numbers to a different state to activate them. I wonder if that eligibility is false. Lol I'm going to try to get her the 3d with it to see what happens.

My upgrade was in Feb and I still havent used it because I'm waiting for the Evo 3D. I was told that I would lose it after April 1st, but I asked to speak to a surpervisor because I was suppose to be Gold anyways because my plan was always over $89.99. So once they looked at my account they changed me to Gold and put my upgrade for april 1. I was happy. I also called the sales people to change the website to reflect my upgrade and they did. Anyone of yall can be Gold member by staying on a plan over $89.99 for 3 months. if you do it now then you can get the Evo 3D by June. If the plan u have now is $69.99 call them and they can change it to a plan over $89.99 so you can get the upgrade in time. The customer rep I spoke to looked at my account and I've had the simply everything plan for months. It was only in March that I went down to $69.99. So that put me to the silver premier. So what they did is back dated it to reflect that March was also Simply everything. They helped me big time cuz I didnt want to lose my upgrade. Call and do the same. I always tell them to note the account and I even talk to a supervisor because I tell them that the story changes everytime I speak to someone different. I hope this info helps all of yall who lost their upgrade but I fought to keep mine. To be a Gold member just stay on a plan over $89.99 for 3 months.
add me to the list.

Estimated Release Date for HTC Evo 3D

I was checking the sprint community forum and seen something that makes sense:
"i work for sprint and they have extended the date of no mail in rebates 3 times already. now it doesnt end until 6/4/2011. and what i have seen is that each date that they extend the instant rebates the day after is the date of a new phone. originally the instant savings was to end on april 16th the day before the echo is released, then it was extended to may 7th the day before the nexus is to come out. now it is extended to june 6th and im hoping they announce the release of the htc evo 3d for june 7th. plus the evo was released in june so i think the 3d will follow suit for sure. It should be a one of a kind phone for sure."
I was also talking to a sprint rep who told me that the number transfer rebate expires 06/23 (what I mean by this is the sprint 'credits' as they call it) in which he said that most likely the EVO 3D would come out after that date.(He made sure to explain to me he didn't exactly know the date and just described a pattern). I also notice the mistake on dates in the quote above it should be 06/04, more info can be found at http://community.sprint.com/baw/message/283940#283940.
So two possible dates, I assume it will be earlier in June. (June 5th)
I was going to pre order it, but with no price point set for without contract purchase and I don't think it would to wise to do that. Would hate to pre order a phone with $50 and it ends up costing $700 full retail, and I'm not paying that. Would have been nice to have a price to go by.

I am sure you can wait until the price is released before pre-ordering. The pre-orders right now are not even being advertised yet so I would think you will still be good once a price is released.
Sprint Rep told me it would most likely cost as much as the EVO 4G, which was $199.99. Based upon all phone carriers, I would say it would not go above $299.99. Also Best Buy Pre-order is not through sprint I was told because Sprint is not doing Pre-Orders. I have to order mine through a rep to get my discounts so I have to wait anyways.

They give you a $50 gift card as "proof" of the pre-order more or less. Could just use the $50 gift card on something else. If you change your mind, they don't expect you to use it exclusively on the phone.
For instance, I could go use mine right now on an XBOX game right now and still be on the pre-order list. And I could also just NOT pick up the phone.
The 3D blockbuster app goes live on June 2nd, so the Evo 3D probably wont launch much after that.
I'm betting on June 3rd, simply because its the first friday of June as was June 4th last year. Plus, June 3rd is better than the 5th or 23rd...

Pre orders at best buy are refundable, they just give you a $50 gift card that you can return or use if you decide to not go through with the purchase. $700 full retail sounds about right though, I'd personally buy it at that price point.

Speak for yourself, I'm hoping for a June 23rd release as that is my upgrade date. I've preordered so if the phone drops before that date I'll have to convice sprint to move up my date, convice best buy to hold my preorder, or pay full retail.

so couldn't you just wait till the 23rd to get the phone??? Why couldn't the evo3d come out the 3rd and you can't wait to upgrade 20 more days
Haha, I'd like to get it today so the sooner the better for me. Also if its after the 23rd then that would suck for people like me who get a $175 discount off the phone from transferring my number and my work discount. So if the phone costs $199.99 like the EVO 4G did then it will only cost me $25. Also as soon as I heard about the EVO 3D my Fuze has been going slower, freezing more and just being a pain in the @ss. It's not worth it to flash an update and try to clean it up, just going to deal with it until the EVO comes out so the day I get it, it will be even nicer. (Cleared some info as it forced me to)
The $175 discount is actually $125 for transferring the number from a different carrier, and $50 from work to clarify for people that are also transferring and be sure to tell the rep that as they may not as or try to find discounts your entitled to. Best Buy didn't ask anything but do your research and tell them where you work to see if you get a discount such as state employee (usually 15%, included teachers, police, etc. (again look this up this is on memory of 2 years ago and I'm not sure what all carriers do on monthly discounts). Remember, Google is your friend on finding you discounts so be sure to use it. (Example: See promo code from a site that your buying something such as advanced auto parts, if you don't Google and active Promo code to save money then your a retard.)

You have to be employed by certain companies or be a member of certain groups. Every company/group get a different discount.
Ex. The company I work for can get 7% off AT&T but can get 23% off with Sprint. I use the discount through my wife's company, and we get 25% with Sprint.
Lots of different ways.....you are probably eligible to get some kind of discount and you don't know it.

I asked this a while back and was told you could get discounts off some plans but no discounts on the simply everything plans - which for me are the only plans that will work based on the large number of minutes I need - and I don't need a family plan.

How to get an EVO 3d?

Not sure how I can get one... I've been with Sprint less than a year, I believe my wife and I got our EVOs in September... I'm Silver Premier automatically through my employer. Is there any way for me to get a discounted EVO 3D or am I looking at $599?
Thanks in advance for any help or advice.
You can trade your EVO in to Sprint or Target and get $150 off ($449)
Or i have 1 on Marketplace on here for $450 which ill have in hand tomorrow ordered 4 keeping 3 selling 1.
sell ur evos on CL, use that to knock off some of the retail price, may save about 50%+

I've been with Sprint since September and I'm getting mine on Friday for the discounted price. I called the retention line (posted in another thread) and asked them to do a manual override on my upgrade.
I also received a $70 credit on my account for renewing my contract.

+1 to this method. I called 877-775-4886 (Account Services I think) and I just asked them to reset my eligibility. There was no hold time, the CSR was very friendly, and the end result is 30 minutes later I was eligible for the 2 year upgrade promo. I was already over the 1 year upgrade eligibility, but I have seen others post that they will reset your upgrade even before the first year, so it's worth a shot. Just call them and politely ask them to reset your upgrade eligibility so you can get the Evo 3D for $199. Also mention that you want to sign a new 2 year contract extension (you are going to have to do it anyways if you buy with an upgrade promo).

Well, I failed... She said if I was at least a year into my contract... I could have maybe gotten something, but because I'm not a year into my contract until August that there wasn't much she could do... Very, very nice though...
Oh well...
We have 2 EVOs since August and wanted to upgrade to 1 EVO 3D...
She spoke to supervisor as well, and at the end even offered to let me speak to the supervisor but I just gave up...
BTW: I am Premier Silver due to the association of Sprint with my work...
I just got my upgrade reset..........I was 9 days away from a year upgrade 75.00.
Sprint gave me the full upgrade. 199.00 evo3d here i come
Congrats... I'm sure if I was 9 days, I would have had a chance, but 2 months was a no-go at least according to the rep I talked to and her supervisor...

$399.99 Early Upgrade for AT&T Premier Accounts.

PSA: Just got off the phone with ATT, my curiosity was piqued by the thread stating the website was allowing contract upgrade pricing for non-eligible lines. My line is not eligible for upgrade until 1/2013, and the Business Premier website shows off-contract/no-commitment pricing of $649.99. BUT, on the phone they said I could upgrade for $399.99 + $18 activation.
Personal Side Note: I currently have a white skyrocket, and my primary complaint is the "mura" effect and the weak DPI (LCD density mods only mask the issue). I have big hands that make the skyrocket look regular sized, I already have a SGP case picked out... but other than the screen, it is the same phone and still no Skyrocket HD or SG3 release date. Tempted to buy it just to try them out side by side, then sell the skyrocket or return the Note - no skin off my back. Thoughts?
Sounds like a good plan. I am holding out though. (Technically I did compare them side by side tho) I have faith in my Samsung guy telling me the s3 will be out in midsummer ...which lines up with out next available upgrade.

Business care reps offer special pricing at times.
In a store as long as you have had your current phone at least 6 months and haven't had any upgrades overridden in the last year then you are eligible for in store early upgrade pricing which is discounted cost of phone + $250 so it would be $550 in store early upgrade vs $650. You still save $100.
Website shows $649.99 for me as well. I called 611 and spoke with a CSR and told them I was interested in the pre-ordering the Note. I was then offered the $399.99 early upgrade price (still requires new 2 year commitment). YMMV of course, but when I asked if I could call back and get the same deal - he said yes. Again my actual upgrade eligibility is 1/2013.

650 is no commitment price. Do you mean in store once can get it for 550?

I called and they told me to call premier.
Your not worthy!

Thoughts?

Here is exactly what I did: I dialed 611 --> entered phone # --> selected #3 for sales and upgrades --> was connected to AT&T Business Solutions Customer Care (1-800-331-0500) --> told them that I was reading about special pricing for the Note's release and that I was interested in upgrading my line -->> CSR said he could offer me $399.99 + $18 + 2yr commitment --> I asked him if I could call him back and get the same deal --> CSR said, "it's available in the system so whoever you call back will have access to the pricing."
I'd try calling the 1800 directly, or try 611 again. Some CSRs are more knowledgeable then others on what is available
I am **** out of luck, business care says call premier as I have an EMO account, premier won't do anything

I doubt you will be able to get any special pricing on an employee account for a brand new launch phone...

I have a corporate discount account, which seems like a type of employee discount program - but it is not called EMO. I called them up this morning and that is what I was told by a CSR. When there is a deal out there I am usually able to talk to ATT and get something worked out - they've been very helpful. If a second CSR won't give the offer, then it could be something more than premier account that gave me the early upgrade price.
Yea unforuntaly they wont help they said its a new process where they cant help they just send me to premier, and premier just looks at the account and does what it says.

Called again today to look into this further and this time to CSR told me again that they are able to offer $399.99 over the phone - then pushed me over to the Premier phone system. Unfortunately they are closed atm, I'll try again tomorrow and see what they say. From what I understand, a Premier CSR will walk you through the process to get the pricing on the website... but again, that is just my speculation until I actually get one of them on the phone.
I got lucky, att made the mistake if turning my service off when it was paid three months in advance , woooo free upgrade

This thread saved me $250!
I am so glad I read this. By calling 611 Premier Sales I got a the early upgrade price of $399 which I could not get via Premier online! This thread saved me $205! Thanks you!
I have EMO too. My upgrade is not due until 5/18/2012. But 611 Premier Sales ordered it for me for $444.99. Its not $399 but better than the $649.99 No commitment price.
I called 611 and and this lady didn't help me with ****. Next upgrade isn't until June. She gave me the number for premier.
I'll call that later it's pretty annoying how these claims aren't as simple as they are written out to be.
Yeah yeah all I did was call and this and that.. Crock

I was also able to order it for the $444.99, however, from what I was told is that the $444.99 is a non commitment price where the $399 is a 2 year commitment price.

As an update, after a bit a run around between Business Care and Premier, I got a price adjust and got it for $300 w/2 yr contract - but I could not upgrade a line which had been upgraded in November 2011, which they stated would immediately get flagged. My other line was upgraded in June 2011, and it looks like it will ship today.
Also, what is this 50% off accessories for Premier accounts I keep reading about? On Sunday? I can't find any documentation.

I don't have an upgrade until March 6th

Will the phone be in stock for sure on that date? I want to make sure I'll be able to get it . Do you guys think this phone will be very popular? Or do you think only a select few people will get it here in the U.S.?
1. Most AT&T stores will let you upgrade if your eligibility date is within a month.
2. This phone won't be like iPhone popular. However, like most new phones, it will probably be out of stock in first week then back on stock shortly after, not because popularity but because AT&T typically only has limited stock on them on release week.

Did you try and pre-order it from the web, i wasn't eligible until the 22nd of feb, my friend who pre-ordered it too got it for the 299.99 price where he wasn't eligible until the 3rd of march, you should give it a try too,if for some reason it doesn't give you the 299 price, you can always do it from a local att corp store, im pretty sure they will override the eligibility since your date is less than 3 weeks away from release date.i know they let you upgrade if you are within a 4 week period..and im pretty sure if not a lot, many people are goin to get the note for sure.best of luck!

Yeah I checked that out just now, and I can pre-order for 299$ !!!!
Thanks!
Can't wait for it to come!!!!!!!
i agree with foxbat. the AT&T store manager i spoke with Sunday said that since my 2 year contract ended on Feb 16th, that i could get a new phone on the 1st of the ending contract month (Feb 1.)
tx --- art.
upgrade option available early
correct me if I am wrong,
but I believe you can upgrade your phone about after 18 month or so into the contract. I was eligible to upgrade my phone on 12/4/11, and my contract end date was 4/4/2012. If you need to upgrade your phone now, but your contract does not end until June, give a try. Call ATT rep, and they may "grant" your request.

You are correct. You can check your eligibility using OnLine Account Manager or simply dial *NEW# and you will receive your eligibility via SMS.
But, what I posted above is also correct. For example, my current eligibility date is 12/23/2011. When I checked early in Dec. 2011, I was told by SMS or OLAM that I was eligible. You don't have to wait until the date that was assigned.
