$399.99 Early Upgrade for AT&T Premier Accounts. - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

PSA: Just got off the phone with ATT, my curiosity was piqued by the thread stating the website was allowing contract upgrade pricing for non-eligible lines. My line is not eligible for upgrade until 1/2013, and the Business Premier website shows off-contract/no-commitment pricing of $649.99. BUT, on the phone they said I could upgrade for $399.99 + $18 activation.
Personal Side Note: I currently have a white skyrocket, and my primary complaint is the "mura" effect and the weak DPI (LCD density mods only mask the issue). I have big hands that make the skyrocket look regular sized, I already have a SGP case picked out... but other than the screen, it is the same phone and still no Skyrocket HD or SG3 release date. Tempted to buy it just to try them out side by side, then sell the skyrocket or return the Note - no skin off my back. Thoughts?

Sounds like a good plan. I am holding out though. (Technically I did compare them side by side tho) I have faith in my Samsung guy telling me the s3 will be out in midsummer ...which lines up with out next available upgrade.

I would love the $399

Business care reps offer special pricing at times.
In a store as long as you have had your current phone at least 6 months and haven't had any upgrades overridden in the last year then you are eligible for in store early upgrade pricing which is discounted cost of phone + $250 so it would be $550 in store early upgrade vs $650. You still save $100.

Website shows $649.99 for me as well. I called 611 and spoke with a CSR and told them I was interested in the pre-ordering the Note. I was then offered the $399.99 early upgrade price (still requires new 2 year commitment). YMMV of course, but when I asked if I could call back and get the same deal - he said yes. Again my actual upgrade eligibility is 1/2013.

Sorry but $550 is not $399, if I can't get that I will add a line and then cancel 1 of my line at $175 early term

Here is exactly what I did: I dialed 611 --> entered phone # --> selected #3 for sales and upgrades --> was connected to AT&T Business Solutions Customer Care (1-800-331-0500) --> told them that I was reading about special pricing for the Note's release and that I was interested in upgrading my line -->> CSR said he could offer me $399.99 + $18 + 2yr commitment --> I asked him if I could call him back and get the same deal --> CSR said, "it's available in the system so whoever you call back will have access to the pricing."
I'd try calling the 1800 directly, or try 611 again. Some CSRs are more knowledgeable then others on what is available

I have a corporate discount account, which seems like a type of employee discount program - but it is not called EMO. I called them up this morning and that is what I was told by a CSR. When there is a deal out there I am usually able to talk to ATT and get something worked out - they've been very helpful. If a second CSR won't give the offer, then it could be something more than premier account that gave me the early upgrade price.

Yea unforuntaly they wont help they said its a new process where they cant help they just send me to premier, and premier just looks at the account and does what it says.

Called again today to look into this further and this time to CSR told me again that they are able to offer $399.99 over the phone - then pushed me over to the Premier phone system. Unfortunately they are closed atm, I'll try again tomorrow and see what they say. From what I understand, a Premier CSR will walk you through the process to get the pricing on the website... but again, that is just my speculation until I actually get one of them on the phone.

I got lucky, att made the mistake if turning my service off when it was paid three months in advance , woooo free upgrade

This thread saved me $250!
I am so glad I read this. By calling 611 Premier Sales I got a the early upgrade price of $399 which I could not get via Premier online! This thread saved me $205! Thanks you!
I have EMO too. My upgrade is not due until 5/18/2012. But 611 Premier Sales ordered it for me for $444.99. Its not $399 but better than the $649.99 No commitment price.

I called 611 and and this lady didn't help me with ****. Next upgrade isn't until June. She gave me the number for premier.
I'll call that later it's pretty annoying how these claims aren't as simple as they are written out to be.
Yeah yeah all I did was call and this and that.. Crock

I was also able to order it for the $444.99, however, from what I was told is that the $444.99 is a non commitment price where the $399 is a 2 year commitment price.

As an update, after a bit a run around between Business Care and Premier, I got a price adjust and got it for $300 w/2 yr contract - but I could not upgrade a line which had been upgraded in November 2011, which they stated would immediately get flagged. My other line was upgraded in June 2011, and it looks like it will ship today.
Also, what is this 50% off accessories for Premier accounts I keep reading about? On Sunday? I can't find any documentation.

Price through VZW is $249.99, assuming the website stopped being glitchy(I snagged mine for $219 on launch day). You may be qualified for a discount through your work or the New Every Two program and thus the $199 price. Long story short: It's probably $199 either way.
That's cheaper then instore id get it

In store is a lot more. Go with the Amazon pricing!
My price was even better. The Verizon website listed my price for the upgrade as $199, but when I got there, the rep looked up my account and said that my price was $149! Now I get special pricing through the company that I work for but if you get a discount through you company you might be pleasantly surprised like me.
Well I don't know about my work, but my line has an early upgrade which is showing it at $199, however, I have a secondary line with a full upgrade due tomorrow so as of now I can't view the price. I'm guessing it would be $149 or $199 online? Hopefully it's the same in store, I really dont wanna wait lol
Sorry to bump, but how many more people bought it in store, and what were the prices for what contracts? Also list any discounts you may have had please
Got Mine online for 199$ With upgrade and CVS Discount. In store they charge you way more fees. Also Normal price is 249.99 Plus tax (Over 300$) Online is best bet plus free 2 day shipping (Business days) I'd do online if I was you. Should come out to 250$ ish after taxes n such.
I got mine in the store. Paid 319 with a one year contract. I saw the thread about it being 199/229 and went on VZW online myself. I found the price and took a pic with my phone. Called the store and mms'd the pic the a VZW rep in the store. About 30 mins later got a email from vzw saying they refuned my card 96.00. Then a receipt followed in the next email.
I had the store match best buy's pricing on my DROID Incredible and I managed to still qualify for the mail in rebate... so at the very least if you find more competitive pricing you may want to see if they'll match in store...
I moaned and groaned about having the Droid for way too long now and having problems and spoke to a manager about possibly leaving Verizon. I ended getting the phone out the door, shipped for $49.99
Would it be better to get the thunderbolt on a 1 year or 2 year contract? If I do decide to do the one year am i going to be paying alot more than 249?

Estimated Release Date for HTC Evo 3D

I was checking the sprint community forum and seen something that makes sense:
"i work for sprint and they have extended the date of no mail in rebates 3 times already. now it doesnt end until 6/4/2011. and what i have seen is that each date that they extend the instant rebates the day after is the date of a new phone. originally the instant savings was to end on april 16th the day before the echo is released, then it was extended to may 7th the day before the nexus is to come out. now it is extended to june 6th and im hoping they announce the release of the htc evo 3d for june 7th. plus the evo was released in june so i think the 3d will follow suit for sure. It should be a one of a kind phone for sure."
I was also talking to a sprint rep who told me that the number transfer rebate expires 06/23 (what I mean by this is the sprint 'credits' as they call it) in which he said that most likely the EVO 3D would come out after that date.(He made sure to explain to me he didn't exactly know the date and just described a pattern). I also notice the mistake on dates in the quote above it should be 06/04, more info can be found at http://community.sprint.com/baw/message/283940#283940.
So two possible dates, I assume it will be earlier in June. (June 5th)
I was going to pre order it, but with no price point set for without contract purchase and I don't think it would to wise to do that. Would hate to pre order a phone with $50 and it ends up costing $700 full retail, and I'm not paying that. Would have been nice to have a price to go by.

I am sure you can wait until the price is released before pre-ordering. The pre-orders right now are not even being advertised yet so I would think you will still be good once a price is released.
Sprint Rep told me it would most likely cost as much as the EVO 4G, which was $199.99. Based upon all phone carriers, I would say it would not go above $299.99. Also Best Buy Pre-order is not through sprint I was told because Sprint is not doing Pre-Orders. I have to order mine through a rep to get my discounts so I have to wait anyways.

They give you a $50 gift card as "proof" of the pre-order more or less. Could just use the $50 gift card on something else. If you change your mind, they don't expect you to use it exclusively on the phone.
For instance, I could go use mine right now on an XBOX game right now and still be on the pre-order list. And I could also just NOT pick up the phone.
The 3D blockbuster app goes live on June 2nd, so the Evo 3D probably wont launch much after that.
I'm betting on June 3rd, simply because its the first friday of June as was June 4th last year. Plus, June 3rd is better than the 5th or 23rd...

Pre orders at best buy are refundable, they just give you a $50 gift card that you can return or use if you decide to not go through with the purchase. $700 full retail sounds about right though, I'd personally buy it at that price point.

Speak for yourself, I'm hoping for a June 23rd release as that is my upgrade date. I've preordered so if the phone drops before that date I'll have to convice sprint to move up my date, convice best buy to hold my preorder, or pay full retail.

so couldn't you just wait till the 23rd to get the phone??? Why couldn't the evo3d come out the 3rd and you can't wait to upgrade 20 more days
Haha, I'd like to get it today so the sooner the better for me. Also if its after the 23rd then that would suck for people like me who get a $175 discount off the phone from transferring my number and my work discount. So if the phone costs $199.99 like the EVO 4G did then it will only cost me $25. Also as soon as I heard about the EVO 3D my Fuze has been going slower, freezing more and just being a pain in the @ss. It's not worth it to flash an update and try to clean it up, just going to deal with it until the EVO comes out so the day I get it, it will be even nicer. (Cleared some info as it forced me to)
The $175 discount is actually $125 for transferring the number from a different carrier, and $50 from work to clarify for people that are also transferring and be sure to tell the rep that as they may not as or try to find discounts your entitled to. Best Buy didn't ask anything but do your research and tell them where you work to see if you get a discount such as state employee (usually 15%, included teachers, police, etc. (again look this up this is on memory of 2 years ago and I'm not sure what all carriers do on monthly discounts). Remember, Google is your friend on finding you discounts so be sure to use it. (Example: See promo code from a site that your buying something such as advanced auto parts, if you don't Google and active Promo code to save money then your a retard.)

You have to be employed by certain companies or be a member of certain groups. Every company/group get a different discount.
Ex. The company I work for can get 7% off AT&T but can get 23% off with Sprint. I use the discount through my wife's company, and we get 25% with Sprint.
Lots of different ways.....you are probably eligible to get some kind of discount and you don't know it.

BestBuy(and other) upgrade checkers say I'm fully eligible now, Sprint.com says...

on their website I'm only eligible for the $75 upgrade now and on 9/1/2011 I am eligble for the full upgrade.
BestBuy.com(RadioShack.com, Amazon.com...) upgrade checker says I'm fully eligible as of this past June 1st. I have a preorder at my Best Buy. Should I worry about what the Sprint website says will I be ok based on what the BestBuy upgrade checker says?
I need to call Sprint tomorrow and change my plan from SERO to SERO-P before Friday, so I'm wodering if I should just let the upgrade thing go as is and be ok or try to get them to give me an early update.
Anyone else see these different dates between the oline upgrade checkers and what Sprint lists?
FYI, My 2 yr contract is up 11/1/2011.
Thanx
You get an upgrade every 22 month for silver members. Your contract ends 11/1 and your upgrade is 9/1.

That's what I expected, but all the other online upgrade checkers show me my 11/1 contract end date(correct) and a "fully eligible" date of 6/1. I'm just wondering if it's something specific to these stores allowing earlier upgrades.
Doesn't the information that Best Buy and others display comes directly from Sprint anyway?
Well, I gave Sprint a call directly and according to them I am currently eligible for the full upgrade and was eligible as of June 1st, which is what the upgrade checker was saying.
Not sure why, cause I was expecting the 9/1 date, but I'm not gonna argue.
As a side note, man was that a pleasant experience with Customer Service. It's NOTHING like it used to be. Kudos to Sprint on that one.
Just curious why you need to upgrade to SERO-P before Friday? Why not just do it when you get the phone? They can do it all right there when it's ordered.
So the $199.99 is only good if you are upgrade-eligible? Not a blanket pricing for a new two year contact?

$299 for Galaxy Note preorder off contract?

My contract doesn't expire until December, but I went through with the preorder anyways. Was I supposed to be able to get the $299 subsidized 2-year commitment price? It ended up working, but I'm afraid I'll be intercepted by AT&T.
I ordered the same way, same price. All the other phones were showing full price and the GNore 299.00. So I didn't even waste a second and ordered it. I remember it was the same way when Atrix was on preorder it was showing 199.00 and all the other phones were full price.

They might be running some kind of promotion? I checked this out with one of my lines that isn't available for an upgrade till Nov. All the phones are at full retail price except the Note. When I clicked on the Nitro HD it said "Retail Price: $549.99" When I checked the Note it said "2-Year Term Renewal Price: $299.99"
i saw this and went ahead and checked and there it was. Odd, my renewal isn't until next year but I tried for it anyways. The worst that can happen is that it gets canceled right? Though at the moment I'm in Asia, hopefully if they cancel, they'll do it before I go home so I can just pick up an international one instead.

well I pre ordered on Sunday. At that time, people in other threads claimed that ATT didn't have a set off-contract price. I guess they just let me pre order anyways? Perhaps they recently input the off contract price and you can't pre order with 2 year contract anymore. I hope they don't cancel my order - my credit card already has a hold for the 299+ taxes price

thats gr8 price..when you check the upgrade eligibility what does it show up for you?
This is what it shows to me
"You can take advantage of our no commitment pricing. Additional discounts may be available on 01/31/2013" and when I browse the devices it shows me 649.99 for note i.e. no commitment price..
shows me the same thing... i think it is because i am switching to att...
I am another one that got the $299 price even though my iPhone 4s is in the middle of its term. I am not asking any questions!

Weird... mine does the following:
1) Login to my wireless account at att.com
2) Click the "upgrade phone" directly under account overview
3) It shows me both lines seperately (no checkboxes) and to the right of each number you can click on "upgrade eligibility". It also says under each of my phone #'s "As a valued AT&T customer, you may qualify for an upgrade on this line, with no-commitment equipment pricing and without signing a two-year commitment. Select Upgrade Eligibility to view upgrade options."
4) I click on "upgrade eligibility" and it takes me to a screen that says "You are not eligible at this time for an upgrade at a discounted price. However, you can take advantage of our no commitment pricing. Additional discounts may be available on 5/13/2013."
5) On the bottom of the screen there is an option to "shop the premier store" and when you click on that you are taken to a page that shows phones available for no contract pricing (Note being $649)
Weird, I'm also eligible for the $299 pre-order... the option to buy off-contract doesn't even come up for me! However, I'm on the grandfathered unlimited plan, and there is no option to keep that plan... is it possible?

Trade in credit

Anyone know if we are still eligible for the $200 credit for upgrading even if we're in an old plan that gives us discounted pricing? Last time around for the Note edge wasn't required. I've gotten conflicting answers from chat.

I heard you have to sign a new two year agreement or add a new line.

That's what I've heard too. Upgraded a line and in the past its counted. Here goes nothing.
They are offering a 200 bill credit or VZW gift card if you trade in any working smartphone. We had to trade in our phones to upgrade because they were under an edge agreement and were not completely paid off. They only give you the credit if you trade in a working paid for smartphone.
Sweet! Thanks for the helpful information.
Also won't work if you are trying to pay full list in order to keep your Unlimited, as I certainly want to. I was told you have to go with one of the new plans at a Verizon store, but who knows how truthful or knowledgeable the rep was
Pulled an original Verizon Droid out of the drawer for a tasty 200 credit today!
My girlfriend and I just switched to Verizon with this deal. From what the rep. said, it's ending on the 31st. At least here on the east coast. Figured I'd throw that in.
The promotion I am talking about is good until Sept 20th according to the rep I spoke to.

The rep you spoke to was probably trying to close a deal quickly. Deal is still up on their website as well. Also, Best Buy is also offering a similar $200 offer with their one gift card when you trade in a phone, plus you get a free wireless charger. (You can use that gift card towards the phone as well.)
I usually get my phones from Best Buy because if you end up not liking the phone for some reason, there's no restocking fee if you return within the 13 days they give you.
We turned in an old Droid X and a Droid Incredible the other day and got 400 instant bill credit. Man that was sweet.
Just got mine today and they still had the deal. Although, because of some system issues, it went towards my bill and not the down payment

It should of when to the down payment, the only thing the trade in shouldn't of paid was the taxes. I was in verizon getting my phone and they tried to pull this on me, and three others while on the store. I went to the GM and asked why they were all making the same mistake, cause it was the exact same mistake (miss quoting the final price, saying they can't return the trade ins and they will put it on the bill) I asked if they were being trained this way, since it was scamming the customer. He got angry and said, I just follow orders and walked off. Vzw Corp is having agents screw this up on purpose, don't stand for it.

I sold my old one swappa and got more money and applied it toward the edge+
