Q:What is odex/deodex?
A:
Odex:
Every android application comes with the extention '.apk'. Packaged with every apk is a .odex file which contains parts of the application which helps speed up the boot process and preloads it.
an odex file is an optimized version of a classes.dex file that has optimizations that are device specific. In particular, an odex file has dependencies on every "BOOTCLASSPATH" file that is loaded when it is generated. The odex file is only valid when used with these exact BOOTCLASSPATH files. dalvik enforces this by storing a checksum of each file that the odex file is dependent on, and ensuring that the checksum for each file matches when the odex file is loaded.
Click to collapse
Deodex:
Deodexing is a way of repackaging the apk such that it is reassembled into the classes.dex file. Everything is put together in one place, and this is helpful because it eliminates any chances of a modified apk conflicting with other odexed parts.
to deodex a file using baksmali, it has to load every BOOTCLASSPATH file that the odex depends on. By default, baksmali will try to find the 5 "core" BOOTCLASSPATH files in the current directory. It can use either a jar/apk (with a classes.dex inside), or an odex file
Click to collapse
So to sum up everything, a .dex file contains the cache used by Dalvik VM during boot and this .dex file is located inside the application. On the other hand, .odex file is an optimized version of the same .dex file but it is located outside the application.
What do I lose/gain using odex/deodexed ROM?
The upper hand deodexed rom has over odexed is integration. Every ROM maker loves deodexing the rom because of two main reasons:
Modification of apk becomes easier
ROM is open to theme modifications
So, as an end used, you would most likely want to have a deodexed version of a ROM to take full advantage of android freedom. However, note that you won't lose out on performance in an odexed ROM.
Q: After falshing siyah kernel kitchen Pro app does not works anymore
A: CWM5 comes with siyah kernel, this custom recovery has a bug related to mount point for sdcard (internal/external). Two possibility:
-You can still use the kitchen app for downloading packages but in order to flash packages you should reboot manually your phone in recovery mode and install packages located in /sdcard/download/CheckROM_REVO/
-If you remove your external sdcard the kitchen will work fine!
Q: Which Theme to flash or will this theme work
A: Any theme that is built for XXKH3 Deodexed is flashable with the ROM.
But the only Downfall to this is that you will end up loosing a few features like Jkay Themes app!!
Now the Themes that dev the Themes at Checkrom.com or our official themes dev's who make themes for us make there respective themes over CheckROM so when u flash there themes you don't lose any features
Q: How this ROM is different from others ?

A:Use JKay Deluxe Settings app. Then swype them.
Q: How can I add "Reboot" to the phone options dialog?
A:Use JKay Deluxe Settings app.
Q: When is theme xyz coming to the Kitchen???
A:If the Team said that a new theme will be added to the Kitchen, then it will be available as soon as its done.
Enable Notifications in the Kitchen App if you can't wait.
Q: I am not able to flash via Kitchen???
A:Delete Clockworkmod folder
Reason:
Previously to make the kitchen flash in older version of CWM5 we need to use a salte hash file that was placed in the Clockworkmod folder, Now with the updated CWM5 the actually problem with CWM5 was fixed by the respective creator!
So now what happens is that all you people have that salted hash file remaining in ur sd card that doesn't allow to flash stuff in the newer better CWM5, thats why when u delete the Folder it stats working coz the salted hash file gets deleted!
Now you may ask why delete the folder, when u can delete the file only!!
LOL answer is simle the Android os never recognizes the file there so when u open myfiles you never find the salted hash file inside the clockworkmod folder! You can use other apps and methods to delete the file but then there is the obvious questions from noobs!!
So Moral the problem is only with that one salted hash file and not ur backup

Dark-Knight Kernel
[KERNEL] DarkKnight V2.5.2
has all the features of Siyah-v2.5.2b with the following exceptions:
pm_max to pm_fast
wifi range should be increased.
If a feature cause instability it is disabled or limited. Battery optimizations are included as long as they do not decrease the performance or cause instability.
default cpu governor is conservative
default i/o scheduler is deadline
sleep frequency is 800MHz
stock lowest brightness value
[KERNEL] DarkKnight V2.4.3
hd playback is fixed.
touch lights fixed.
sleep freq is set to 500MHz and it should be stable this time.
it should be near perfect, even the best release made till now.
fixed USB OTG
Added intellidemand governor. this is a modified ondemand governor and very battery friendly.
default lowest freq is set to 200MHz. default governor is still (tweaked)conservative.
some other tweaks & fixes
tweaked ondemand, conservative and ondemandx governors. I think stuck-to-800MHz problem is fixed.
Enabled some tweaks in tweaks.sh. video playback on external sd should be better now.
disabled hidden ssid in wireless driver to fix wifi tethering problems (thanks to Entropy512)
back to SLAB
fixed usb keyboard&mouse problems
[KERNEL] DarkKnight V2.3
Changed auto-brightness levels.
fixed auto-rooting problem
reverted back to old workqueue implementation
reverted memory allocator to SLAB
enabled cleancache
default i/o scheduler: sop
slub as in stock kernel.

YEAHHH...got the ICS from Vertumus...no bootloop...very quick installation and everything seems to work good great theme.
I'm on CRR v2 (base rom no mods installed) + DK Kernel...my way to go :
1-NANDROID BACKUP
2-Download the theme directly from Vertumus thread and put the Zip into the root of your internal sd (not external but internal mass memory)
3-Reboot in CWM
4-Wipe cache partition
5-Wipe dalvik cache
6-Flash the ICS Zip
7-Reboot
8-Enjoy

Vdd levels sysfs interface
This mod was created by snq- for my Classic desire builds.
The vdd levels interface allows you to adjust cpu voltages on the fly, you can either do this via terminal, Gscript or by dropping a script in init.d.... The following script is an example with vdd levels increased by 25mV on all frequencies
you can adjust these values accordingly by ammending the 2nd string to any value between min 750mV max 1350mV, these values will only be persistent on reboot if you have a script in the /system/etc/init.d folder with the below syntax
usage:
query: (output: first column: frequency (kHz), second column: vdd* (mV))
#!/system/bin/sh
#
#CONFIG_CPU_FREQ_VDD_LEVELS
echo '245000 925' > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/vdd_levels
echo '422400 950' > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/vdd_levels
echo '460800 975' > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/vdd_levels
echo '499200 975' > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/vdd_levels

*: vdd values must be a multiple of 25 (enforced by the interface; the regulator doesn't accept other values - found out in the hard way)
please note that the values set through this interface will only be written to the acpu table - they will only become effective when the specific frequency is (re)set by cpufreq
i took the input parser from iscaela's code - thanks for it

F.A.Q For HTC FLYER
 F.A.Q For LeeDrOiD FLYER
Quickies
- When you flash the ROM, you*MUST*complete at least one full boot before applying any patches or themes.
- For some of the below operations, you will need a root explorer. A good one is ES File Explorer, free and with root access. You will need to check root access in settings and mount system for it to work.
- The*first boot*after flashing any rom can take up to 10 mins (especially following a full wipe), this is because the dalvik-cache needs to be re-built.
- Do I need to*wipe?*It is always recommended, however you can just flash the rom over the current one without a wipe, providing you are using the ROM from the same Chef and that the base build is the same. A full wipe should be done if you face continuous troubles with the ROM or feel performance is not what it should be.*
__________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ ________
F.A.Q For LeeDrOID FLYER
Q 1: How do I flash this ROM?
Assuming you have S-Off, and have installed a custom recovery – Reboot the FLYER into recovery (switch off then back on holding volume down, at the fastboot menu select recovery). Select “Install Zip from SD Card” – Select the ROM from your SD and press power – Confirm and you are good to go.*
Q 2. What is S-OFF or Recovery?
A detailed explanation on how to is below:
What is S-OFF?
S-OFF means that the NAND portion of the device is unlocked and can be written to. The default setting for HTC devices is S-ON (write protected), which means that neither can you access certain areas of the system nor can you guarantee a permanent root
Do i need Rooting?
An unrooted device is like logging onto the guest account of windows, you can do many things, just not everything
Think of Acquiring root as having Administrator Access on the device, so you can install/modify/fix/break anything you want.*
What does clockwork Recovery do?
Clockwork allows you to flash Unofficial Roms and Themes via zip files on your SD card, also you can make backups of your current rom and wipe certain types of memory. (User data, system, boot, cache, dalvik cache)
What is flashing?
Flashing refers to Downloading themes or apps or Roms onto your SD Card and then installing them using clockwork or any other utility where the phones Operating System is modified
Q 3: Which radio should I use?
This is a trick question. According to many users over the years, they have recommended to change the radio only if you are facing troubles with the current one that you are using. Radio is a very very very location specific thing. So, what works for me, may not work for you.*Here Here*is a good thread discussing radios and their performance. Generally, Lee will put the recommended radio in the first post.
Q 4: Is the radio included in the ROM? How do I flash?
No, you will need to flash the radio separately.
Easiest steps to flash a radio is (assuming you have*sdk*and*HTC Drivers*and are SOFF)
- Put the radio.img in the folder where fastboot is under sdk\tools
- Turn off your phone and and reboot into Bootloader and select fastboot, connect the phone to the pc - now you show see Fastboot USB on the phone.*
- Goto command prompt on your pc. Goto the folder with Fastboot.
- Type*fastboot flash radio radio.img*and watch it write the new radio.
If the file is named PG58IMG.ZIP, then simply copy it to the root folder of the sd card and reboot into bootloader and follow instructions on the phone screen.
Read about radios and RILs*here*,*here*and*here.
Information on*RIL*can be found*here.
Q 5: Right or recommended order of flashing?
Wipe>ROM>Reboot> Radio.
Q 6: Should I use a task killer on the LD ROM?
Check this and decide for yourself... (Lee would say NO)
Q 7: Backup? What is that?
A good idea is to back up all your data and settings from the phone before flashing a new rom with a full wipe. Best app available is*Titanium Back up(included in the ROM)
The best way to back up the contacts is to sync it via HTC Sync or via your gmail.
Q 8: Are Nandroid and Titanium backup the same thing? How do I manage backups?
No, Nandroid backs up the ROM and Titanium backs up the applications. Nandroid is what you do using the recovery and it makes the exact image of your ROM along with the data.
Q 9: On what occasion will I lose my data (apps, contacts etc)?
Only when you apply the full wipe or the super wipe (see next question, Answer 3). When you just flash a rom or a .zip from recovery, it will not wipe anything unless otherwise mentioned.
Q 10: I was on stock (or another rom from another cook) and I flashed LeeDroiD ROM, now I am having some problems.
*
1. Try to rebooting the FLYER and see if it makes a difference.
2. Reboot into recovery and clear cache and dalvik, reboot the FLYER and clear data of the apps causing problem.
3. If nothing else works, then use the*Full Wipe*from the first post above or “SUPERWIPE”. Beware: A superwipe/ full wipe will erase EVERYTHING on the FLYER. So be sure to backup what you want.
Q 11: How do I flash Full wipe or Superwipe and what does it erase?
Copy the .zipfile to the SD Card and flash it via recovery. DONOT REBOOT once it is done, flash the ROM straightafter. The full wipe will erase data, cache, system and format in EXT4 partition. Superwipe will erase data, cache, system, boot and system files on SD card (EXT4 again).
Q 12: The screen is not very responsive and is lagging.
Let the FLYER settle down a bit after you unlock it. It generally needs a few seconds to kick up the CPU.
Q 13: The market is not installing anything. Gives error.
Reboot into recovery and select “clear cache partition”. And under settings - applications - Manage applications - under the Market app < Clear Data>.
Q 14: I don’t like the CRT on and off animations, what can I do to disable these?
CRT Animations are*NOT*included.
Q 15: My battery is draining heavily*.
When you first flash a ROM this is what happens. Give it atleast one full charge cycle and it should come back to normal. If required, reboot into recovery and clear battery stats. It is advisable to do so on 100%. Here is the*battery caliberation*app from the market. You can try this.
The battery calliberation script is now included in the rom and stats wiped when at 100%, automatically. This is done only once.
Q 16: Should I run the FLYER battery to zero percent, and what if it does??
Absolutely not! Both the current recoveries are giving problems while pulling the battery up from zero percent.
Q 17: I am getting random lines across my screen on some widgets.
This is a fairly common problem. A Quicke remove the widget and re-apply it or to use a different skin.
Q 18 Some games that use the motion/G sensor are not working as they should.
Re-Calibrate your Gsensor – Settings – Display – Gsensor Callibration
Q 19:dont like the animations. Dont want them.
Go to spare parts, and disable all animations OR go to settings - display - animations.
Q 20: How do I disable or change the boot sound?
You will need to a root explorer to do this. On your phone, using the root explorer, navigate to data\local. Rename the file android_audio.mp3 and reboot.. Viola - No more boot sound. To change, rename the one you want as the boot sound to andoid_audio.mp3 and place it in data\local folder.
Q 21: And the bootanimation?
Data\Local again. Replace the bootanimation.zip file with the one you want. The new file must be named bootanimation.zip.
Q 22: Can I modify frequencies using SetCPU?
Yes, You can use SetCPU
Q 23: GPS Problems?
Try*faster fix the market. Has helped a few members.
Q 24: SuperUser Force closes.
Goto Setting - Application - Manage Application - Super user - Clear Data. And, go to Super user application and click the right most icon on the top of the application (top right corner) and re-update the binaries. Also, go to settings and disable logging, its a bug in su3.
Special thanks to Senior member and Moderator Prateek Gujral for inspiration to this faq.
Feel free to PM me if something else should be added.
Pls. Look at Lee´s 1st post in this thread for further explanations.
IMPORTANT
Jailbreaking and rooting could soon become illegal again, unless you act now.
Back in July of 2010 the US government ruled that jailbreaking and rooting weren’t a crime as long as the intention behind them isn’t circumventing copyright.
The ruling is set to expire soon and unless renewed, jailbreaking and rooting of smartphones will become illegal once again.
An organization called the EFF (Electronic Frontier Foundation) has issued a petition that anyone can sign – the idea is to get enough objective opinions in favor of renewing the ruling. The EFF also wants to add tablets to the agreement.
You can find all the details on the source link below. Keep in mind that signing up to renew the agreement closes on February 10.
Whether jailbreaking is legal or illegal may not matter much to the end user, but not voting for legalization would surely put all the hard-working devs outside the law.

Wow I'm loving this ROM, very quick! Will give it a full recharge and see what the battery life is like!
A few bugs/issues to report:
As done by a few other devs for the flyer, Is It possible to remove the insert sim notification if we are on the WiFi only version? (my sensation caters for all my mobile data needs )
I can't sign into HTC sense, as it says I need to insert sim, so I'm guessing this is related to my WiFi only flyer...
The xda app FCs everytime I try to sign in. I had this on a previous Rom, so it might be device related.
Other than that, loving it, thanks so much! When I have some more cash I will be sure to give you another donation - (payday soon!)
Welcome Lee, thanks for your work for desire and now here. Will try your Rom though coming from hc

#!/system/bin/sh
#
#CONFIG_CPU_FREQ_VDD_LEVELS
echo '245000 925' > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/vdd_levels
echo '422400 950' > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/vdd_levels

F.A.Q For HTC FLYER HC Version
 F.A.Q For LeeDrOiD FLYER
Quickies
- When you flash the ROM, you MUST complete at least one full boot before applying any patches or themes.
- For some of the below operations, you will need a root explorer. A good one is ES File Explorer, free and with root access. You will need to check root access in settings and mount system for it to work.
- The first boot after flashing any rom can take up to 10 mins (especially following a full wipe), this is because the dalvik-cache needs to be re-built.
- Do I need to wipe? It is always recommended, however you can just flash the rom over the current one without a wipe, providing you are using the ROM from the same Chef and that the base build is the same. A full wipe should be done if you face continuous troubles with the ROM or feel performance is not what it should be.
__________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ ________
F.A.Q For LeeDrOID FLYER
Q 1: How do I flash this ROM?
Assuming you have S-Off, and have installed a custom recovery – Reboot the FLYER into recovery (switch off then back on holding volume down, at the fastboot menu select recovery). Select “Install Zip from SD Card” – Select the ROM from your SD and press power – Confirm and you are good to go.
So, what works for me, may not work for you.*Here Here is a good thread discussing radios and their performance. Generally, Lee will put the recommended radio in the first post.
Q 4: Is the radio included in the ROM? How do I flash?
No, you will need to flash the radio separately.
Easiest steps to flash a radio is (assuming you have sdk and HTC Drivers and are SOFF)
- Typefastboot flash radio radio.imgand watch it write the new radio.
If the file is named PG58IMG.ZIP, then simply copy it to the root folder of the sd card and reboot into bootloader and follow instructions on the phone screen.
Q 5: Right or recommended order of flashing?
Wipe>ROM>Reboot> Radio.
Q 6: Should I use a task killer on the LeeDrOiD ROM?
Check this and decide for yourself... (Lee would say NO)
Q 7: Backup? What is that?
A good idea is to back up all your data and settings from the phone before flashing a new rom with a full wipe. Best app available is Titanium Back up(included in the ROM)
1. Try to rebooting the FLYER and see if it makes a difference.
2. Reboot into recovery and clear cache and dalvik, reboot the FLYER and clear data of the apps causing problem.
3. If nothing else works, then use the Full Wipe from the first post above or “SUPERWIPE”.
CRT Animations are NOT included.
Q 15: My battery is draining heavily.
When you first flash a ROM this is what happens. Give it atleast one full charge cycle and it should come back to normal. If required, reboot into recovery and clear battery stats. It is advisable to do so on 100%. Here is the*battery caliberation*hereapp from the market.
On your Flyer, using the root explorer, navigate to data\local. Rename the file android_audio.mp3 and reboot.. Viola - No more boot sound. To change, rename the one you want as the boot sound to andoid_audio.mp3 and place it in data\local folder. Be sure to hit the favourite button inside explorer and then phone, data and local.
Q 21: And the bootanimation?
Data\Local again. Replace the bootanimation.zip file with the one you want. The new file must be named bootanimation.zip.
Q 22: Can I modify frequencies using System tuner Pro or Set Cpu?
Yes, You can use System Tuner Pro or SetCPU. Lee Recomends SYSTEM TUNER PRO
Q 23: GPS Problems?
Try faster fix app from the market.

I have not had a chance to try this, anyone with 3g does your phone work on this ROM? Can you text and make calls?
Thanks Lee

How exciting!!
Thanks Lee!!
Wait, "Enabled Phone functionality (WIP)"? Could you elaborate? This sounds exciting!
I guess WIP stands for Work In Progress, therefore not functional yet. Fingers crossed, though!
Hi Lee, finally you come to HC. This ROM will make flyer a legend, if you can enable phone and enable usb host features! But the second thing is more important to me than the first one.
Although I never test usb host on your leedroid gb rom, but I read that you can enable this feature on previous ROM. So I hope this time would be easy for you too.
Anyway, thank you very much. Will smartass governor be implemented on this ROM?

Hello Lee, any chance HTC Jetstream HC ROM may help in phone calls resolution? I read on official HTC Jetstream manual (page 150) that ...You can listen to music over a Bluetooth stereo headset, or have hands-free conversations using a compatible Bluetooth headset or car kit... Anybody knows it's true? Can't see references to phone calls for Jetstream anywhere else.
Hi Lee
Thanks again 4 another great job from your hand, most of the things had been said in the other posts, I miss my LeeDrOiD wallpaper though and a wifi connection who function.

Hi
First of all wellcome onboard, You need to download System tuner or set CPU from the marked, personally I will go for System tuner pro version.
System tuner will provide you with a max of 1,8 Ghz, but I wont recoment it. First of all You need to let the new rom settle for a couple of hours before your starts playing around with it, And 1,8Ghz thats max speed but also there where You will face bootloops and a unstable device. If I where You I will go for a max. 0n 1.72 Ghz.
Enjoy Yourself
thanks for your answer , yes I guess that 1.72 will do just fine, I have a HC rom on my flyer and when I compare it to the asus eepad transformer I realise the tablet is not smooth enough even with installing custom launchers (ADW launcher). I hope this will make the difference ^^

i decided to create a new thread dedicated to Q&A about miniCM10
this thread is the place of your questions, answers, tips about miniCM10 and nAa ics kernel
so please, as usual, read FAQ, use search option or anything else before asking commonly answered questions
the FAQ will be incremented when needed
the Q&A is written as Q are asked
Requirements:
Latest 2.1.1.A.0.6/2.1.1.C.0.0 SE firmware / Baseband: M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404015

Please make sure you followed the above steps before reporting any issues, especially 'wipe data/factory reset'
something else that is useful to read before asking :
Here we (nearly all? XDA members, regardless of being devs or only users [like me], me at least ) don't care about your good/bad English the important is trying to be understood and to understand the content of the threads
only ask things you can't find, or you don't understand, please if you don't understand something in any process tell us exactly where is your problem : it will optimize the answer
sometime rephrasing things can make you understand better, feel free to help us for making the most understandable sentence for anybody
i'm always trying to use a proper English (not so easy for a non native English ^^)
but if there's something misunderstood because of my English your are welcome to correct me
BUT if you don't make the effort to read, I won't make the effort to answer (ok, you can't read everything... but read the minimum )
that's it
miniCM website is now available (http://minicm.dyndns.org/site/Chat/ for chatroom)

about nAa JB kernel :
Preface:
Read through [that] post. Don't rush into flashing. Be sure you understand the process before you start
This is a custom kernel developed for Android Jellybean
Do NOT try this kernel on other Android versions - you are totally unsupported
This kernel introduces custom mtd partitioning with larger /system partition to hold the extra JB calories. If you are moving from another custom kernel to this one, you MUST first format /system /data and /cache via the embedded CWM recovery

then flash the kernel you want, (press flash on flashtool, plug the phone to pc, force reboot by pressing home+power, press and hold back button)
==> you can now restore a backup of the old rom you were previously using or install another non JB based rom

4/ why my wifi can't load? ( all builds ; all devices )
you may have that kind of logcat:
Code:
D/WifiService( 1694): setWifiEnabled: true pid=2095, uid=1000
E/WifiStateMachine( 1694): Failed to load driver!
E/WifiStateMachine( 1694): DriverFailedState
open terminal emulator :
Code:
lsmod
if it doesn't answer anything, maybe /system is out of space and kernel fails to copy wifi modules at boot (note that undervolt module wont work either)
try the following :
open any file explorer that is root capable,
go to /system/media/audio/ringtones
delete some ringtones (at least to recover about 3 or 4 MB free, the more is safer) [1.5 MB seems to be enough though ]
reboot
try lsmod and see, if the kernel succeeded to copy modules at boot it's ok and and lsmod outputs what you are waiting for, if not reflash kernel and/or try to install a reduced miniCM10 zip (by deleting ringtones as for the previous way, but in a zip editor)
hoping it will solve your problem
5/ you have various problems with wifi ? ( all builds ; all devices )
refer to miniCM7 and miniCM9 miniFAQs !!!
6/ what are I/O schedulers ? ( all builds ; all devices )
a kind of answer here
7/ i updated from miniCM10-4.0.0 to 4.0.1 and after updating the gapps to 20120923 i've lost the camera ? (miniCM10-4.0.1 ; all devices)
go to mount&storage
format /system (NO data lost )
install miniCM4.0.1 again

first flash this : from here
and then the zip corresponding to your specific language : look here
/!\ choose "default input method" so that the KB works correctly, if you don't it will behaves strangely
/!\ do not modify keyboard_layouts and keyprints in any way if you want the above to work, edit: seems you can edit the xml finally
/!\ do not modify advanced>mimmiperts, make sure you have not touched it before processing the installs. it is recommended to start from a "fresh build" i.e. to wipe all user data, and so on.
defauld input and sym button should be back

You must delete /system/lib/hw/lights.msm7x27.so with rootexplorer or any other file manager that allows you to explore and modify root files
handcent led settings does not work properly with lights.robyn.so
of course, you need to reboot your phone after that.
REDELETE AFTER EACH UPDATE if you have the same problem SINCE THE FILE IS REWRITTEN
12/ why flastool doesn't flash the kernel i choose? (any version)
when there are lots of kernel builds in flashtool firmware folder, flashed kernel might not be the right one,
to void this, create a folder in it, cut/paste all your previous kernel there
and only keep the one you want to flash in the firmware folder
then, start flastool and process flashing operations
13/ i'have some problem for sending mms (all builds until miniCM10-4.0.2+ ; all devices)

DaRk_dOg said:
I think that this is a common issue with CM7 and not just MiniCM7 (I experienced it on my DHD too).
Here is a small workaround for now:
Before sending the mms, disable data traffic, then enable it again and then send your mms.
You have to do it every time, before an mms but it is working for me.

to get compatibility with .32 kernel, nAa needed to change some things related to brightness monitoring
and that's why some issues appeared with .29 kernel, and then were fixed, but with the drawback of light being at max for a short time before dimming when turning the screen on.
using .32 kernel solves this issue

VDD levels
From 03 onwards, I've ported the vddlevels functionality from msm7x30
so that we can variably change the voltage level of the frequency we
want without the need for external modules.
The current voltage information is available at:
Code:
/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/vdd_levels
E.g. the defaults after flashing the kernel should be:
Code:
[email protected]:/ # cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/vdd_levels
122880: 3
245760: 4
320000: 5
480000: 6
604800: 7
614400: 7
633600: 7
652800: 7
672000: 7
691200: 7
710400: 7
729600: 7
748800: 7
768000: 7
787200: 7
806400: 7
825600: 7
844800: 7
864000: 7
To change for example the voltage level of the 122880 frequency, you could do:
Code:
echo '122880 0' > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/vdd_levels
If you cat this file again, you should see that the voltage level is
picked up. The new voltage level is picked up when the CPU will scale
to the particular frequency level.
The undervolting tickbox in the 'Performance Settings' of the latest
MiniCM10 nightlies already uses the new interface. The values that are
set there are the same ones as those passed by the old undervolting
module:
Code:
[email protected]:/ # cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/vdd_levels
122880: 0
245760: 2
320000: 3
480000: 5
604800: 6
614400: 7
633600: 7
652800: 7
672000: 7
691200: 7
710400: 7
729600: 7
748800: 7
768000: 7
787200: 7
806400: 7
825600: 7
844800: 7
864000: 7
Do I need undervolting?
You dont NEED undervolting. It can save though hours of some battery
life during the day.
Overvolting?
Even though the interface allows you to overvolt, I don't suggest
doing so. It will result to instabilities or crashes and is totally
unsupported.
Performance?
Undervolting decreases the performance results - this is to be expected.

If you want to enable the fake DT by dx, you have to insert the following line in the /system/etc/hw_config.sh file:

for whose who feel the system slow and laggy, just try the SWAP (SDcard class6+ recommended)
SWAP, there is two "kind" of swap : using a partition on the SDcard, or using a swap file
both are good, but some SDcard/phones react better with the one or the other
let us start with the partition way : it is more complicated than the file method, but as some advantages
pros: once it is set up, no need to care about it anymore, the SDcard can be mounted to PC easily without latency
cons: a little complicated to set up, and once it's done, it is as complicated to revert as to set up; to change swap size, you need to repeat the process (formating and partitioning SDcard)
needs a clean install of miniCM10:
flash JB kernel
in CWM, go to mount&storage :
then, format /system, /data and /cache (so that kernel can use the new partitions size) any data on phone memory will be lost
set up your swap:
==> go to /advanced/Partition SD Card
if you don't want to use a2sd, then choose the minimal size for ext, and the size you want for SWAP
it will FORMAT your SDcard ! any data on SDcard will be LOST
and install the rom
swap partition should work
what doesn't work is the swap info menu
to revert : format SDcard in phone settings : it will FORMAT your SDcard ! any data on SDcard will be LOST
____________________
now, the swap file way : it is really simpler than the swap partition, works great but has some drawbacks
pros: easy to set up, easy to revert, and the size can be choosen at wish at anytime (in settings>performance>memory>Swap settings)
cons: high latency when mounting SDcard to pc, it can take forever (really quicker to use CWM mount and storage capability to use the SD on the PC, than using android way)
you must perform a clean install of miniCM10 (by formating /system, /data and /cache) any data on phone memory will be lost
install the rom zip, the gapps, and boot up your phone
set it up
once your rom is ready to use,
go to settings>performance>memory>Swap settings
choose "enabled"
choose the size
allow system to get SU permissions
wait for the pop up "swap enabled"
enjoy, it is simple and can be disabled on wish
for both :
to see if your swap works, open terminal, and type the following :
Code:
free
to see the swapiness :
drfr said:
To check in terminal:
Code:
cat /proc/sys/vm/swappiness
Default value is 30 if you have zram and swap enabled, or 60 if only swap without zram.
To change it TILL NEXT REBOOT:
Code:
echo X > /proc/sys/vm/swappiness
where X is your desired value
To change it PERMANENTLY:
add the above line to the end of your hw_config.sh (you can find it in /sýstem/etc)
Note: it is always way easier to type those things on PC keyboard, so you´d better do it in adb shell.

antutu : fps2D:
I/O performance on miniCM10-4.0.2-20130120/nAaJB03 (2.6.29.6) :
conclude what you want
NOOP:- The NOOP scheduler inserts all incoming I/O requests into a simple, unordered FIFO queue and implements request merging.
The scheduler assumes I/O performance optimization will be handled at some other layer of the I/O hierarchy; e.g., at the block device; by an intelligent HBA such as a Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) RAID controller or by an externally attached controller such as a storage subsystem accessed through a switched Storage Area Network.
ANTICIPATORY:- Anticipatory scheduling is an algorithm for scheduling hard disk input/output.
It seeks to increase the efficiency of disk utilization by "anticipating" synchronous read operations.
CFQ:-CFQ, also known as "Completely Fair Queuing", is an I/O scheduler for the
Linux kernel which was written in 2003 by Jens Axboe.
CFQ works by placing synchronous requests submitted by processes into a number of per-process queues and then allocating timeslices for each of the queues to access the disk. The length of the time slice and the number of requests a queue is allowed to submit depends on the IO priority of the given process. Asynchronous requests for all processes are batched together in fewer queues, one per priority.
BFQ:- BFQ is a proportional share disk scheduling algorithm based on the slice-by-slice service scheme of CFQ. But BFQ assigns budgets, measured in number of sectors, to tasks instead of time slices. The disk is not granted to the active task for a given time slice, but until it has exahusted its assigned budget. This change from the time to the service domain allows BFQ to distribute the disk bandwidth among tasks as desired, without any distortion due to ZBR, workload fluctuations or other factors. BFQ uses an ad hoc internal scheduler, called B-WF2Q , to schedule tasks according to their budgets. Thanks to this accurate scheduler, BFQ can afford to assign high budgets to disk-bound non-seeky tasks (to boost the throughput), and yet guarantee low latencies to interactive and soft real-time applications.
I/O performances on MiniCM10-4.1.0 /w 2.6.32.60 nAa-JB-05 :
here is a chart showing scheduler specific results,
the benchmarks were based on Antutu, regarding IO and SDcard R/W
my settings are :
122~729MHz
smartassH3
undervolted
KSM
zram 18%
swap file 128MB
all i can say for now, is that SIO is the more balanced scheduler, and CFQ/VR are the worst
here are the results
what does the chart shows us?
SIO is the more balanced scheduler, it has a good IO, and a good read/write
Anticipatory has the best IO, but a bad SDwrite
Deadline has the best SDwrite, but is quite average for IO and SDread
NOOP, CFQ and VR are a bit behind
for people using swap, i would say that they should use SIO or deadline, for others, Anticipatory or BFQ might be better
i ran the benchmark 4 times for each scheduler.

I have questions/suggestion request about minicm 10 for xperia x8, i have a very little space to store applications, any suggestions? With GB I can use a lot of apps moving its in SD but with MiniCM 10 also moving apps I can install all the apps that I use before.
Use an ext partition for example it would be useful?
Another thing is the automatic conversion trom SMS to MMS when it exceeds a page in length. Only using another app for messages it wont be this way but i thing it would be great if we can use the stock app that I think is great!

I think he means that if we want move to another kernel we have to use seus or flashtool the way we always flash new kernel, for example flashing again naa-13 over jb kernel using flashtool without going back to eclair first.
I tried to make an ext partition in my sd card with CWM, now I have more memory to store my apps and system is so fast! This rom is great!
I only have sometimes random reboots and sometimes the screen crashes but now this is my daily rom!
Does swap partition works in MiniCM10 ?
I still don't quite understand about the meaning of clearing data, cache, etc...
Currently, I'm still at MiniCM 2.2, with a swap partition, EXT 4 partition, and FAT partition...
What is the correct sequence to run JB for the first time ?
Do I have to :
1. Reformat my MMC first + deleting the partition, go to recovery, format data, cache, etc, then make new partition (Swap, EXT4, and FAT)
OR
2. Format data, cache, etc, then reformat my MMC (as Swap partition gets changed to EXT3 automatically when doing factory reset), then make new partition.
Can somebody help ? Thank you in advance

SERIOUSLY. I haven't had a high score on my mimmi with my MiniCM7 with most of apps I need and apps for UI improvements(themes/widgets/etc). I also use v6 SuperCharger of zepplinerox. I only had a 1853 score. but this score is higher. does this have potential to overthrow the speed and performance of MiniCM7?
minicm10 doesn't have as much features as minicm7 or 9 but is much smoother and more powerful right now .

INFO:
Note on Odexing rom.
Your accounts( google , samsung,...) info will be erased so re-enter them after odexing the rom
Auto reboot after odexing doesn't work so do a hard reboot
After odexing many apps FC , DON'T worry the reboot will fix it.
Odexing will make your rom smoother, all apps and framework in system are odexed.
Modding is still possible , just re-odex the rom after you changed some app or framework.
Re-installing the rom will give a a deodexed rom so odex command needs to be repeated.
Note on Touchscreen problems after installation.
Option1: Do your settings and Reboot after installation.
Option2:Use the Note8.0 Mode switcher and change to Tablet reboot and then back to Phablet mode.
Option3:Full wipe and reinstall.

Mods and info:
You want Tablet mode?
Use the Note 8 Mode switcher, this will set your DPI to 177 so it goes to Tablet mode.
Some apps like camera and keyboard layout will be a little off.
You can install the Android keyboard in aroma which got the correct layout in every DPI.
You want MultiMode?
Use the Note 8 Mode switcher to switch between different multiwindow modes.
Navigation Bar in phablet mode.
Black build in the rom or see attachments.
USE THE NEW TERMINAL COMMANDS
you can use "PimpMyRom" app and enable the navigationbar. but the touch response is not as good then when you use the terminal command to enable it. You will get this as I modded the systemUI to make show correctly:
You want a transparent navigationbar in phablet mode. See aroma customizations

I don't support devices that I don't have, sorry. I do it sometimes but this one I pass. So don't expect a rom or kernel for the 5100 from my hand.

I also did a factory reset and wiped both cache and dalvik twice.
Installed but had a problem with the Play Store. I wiped cache, dalvik and fixed permissions. All ok now.
I've been playing with this rom for a few hours, it's great but there are sometimes rotation issues. Sometimes it Just stays in landscape mode and i have to reboot or play a few time with the rotation toogle before it works again. Dont have the problem in portrait mode. Any suggestions ?

No reboots here , you sure no leftovers of previous roms and maybe UV settings if you did a custom kernel.

No problems here. I didn't change anything regarding that , not in the rom or in the kernel.
Thanks civato, its working for me. Just a note for anyone who wants to use wifi direct, you must select the 'Allshare' option in installer or you wont be able to send (receive works ok without that selection).
Doing my nandroid on mine now then installing. Been looking for this since last week when I got my device. Thanks civato!

I don't understand there are two Stock Roms in the Forum one for the 5110 and one for the 5100. Check it out.
Thanks for the rom. It is silky smooth. Only thing I noticed is the auto brightness is not as sensitive as before. Not sure is it only me or not.
