Possible to capture video and record voice via external microphone - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Pretty much as the title explains, I'm trying to figure out if there is a way I can record using the camera on the phone, But record my voice through the hands free earphones.
Why?
Because I like to record with my phone mounted on my motorbike, I'd would be better if I could record from the mic as
A) I can talk
B) The mic Can be shielded by my helmet to remove all the wind noises.
I've searched through the forums, So sorry if It's been asked/Answered, I had no luck finding anything with google or here. The best option I got was use "Lg Camera", But I had no luck with external microphone options there unfortunately
Thanks in advance for your help

[Q] Microphone too sensitive - Limiter available?

Hi,
The microphone settings are way to sensitive for audio/ video recordings. Is it possible to control microphone input settings (limiter)? I've seen that this topic was addressed somewhere before but no solution was given.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

same problem,someone?
I also have this problem, I was wondering if it was in the service menu somewhere as you can boost the mic level for calls or video calling or boost the speaker volume. I didn't try turn down the volume and record on it though. Its *#*#197328640#*#* to access..
I rung Samsung in my country, the guy the other end was a complete tosser. I have been trying to record guitar/drums to post online for utube or whatever.. But understandably the drums clipped the mic hard, as they are so darn loud. But even at a low level for guitar it was raping the mic, clipping hard.
The guy said its a cell phone, not a professional recording device and I am expecting too much. I then replied well an iPhone wont clip and its a cell phone.. My wifes ipod touch didnt clip at the same concert I was at using my xperia x10 a few months back. He ended up trying to tell me that iPhones suck and are locked down, which is true. Then how we can do anything we want to the phones, customising them to suit. But then he told me NOT to go in the service menu and that it would void my warrenty, seriously what a idiot.
bumpidy bump
BUMP, any ideas?! PLEASE!
Anyone know how to fix it?
Please anyone? This phone is perfect, apart from its bad microphone properties.. Wicked screen, SD storage, hd video, fast internet, n wireless, voice recogntion, swype texting, music player, video EDITING... But the mic clips at medium - loud volumes..
Thanks in advance
bump... and here i am using a samsung g6 and having the same problem.. customers complain that they here everything in the background because the mic is sooo sensitive.. anyway to turn down sensetivity in android?? thannks,,

Possible to use your Android device as a microphone?

This may seem like a dumb question to some...So please don't flame me.
The thing i was wondering is, Is it possible to use your cellphone as a microphone for a PC maybe? My whole goal is to use my HTC EVO 3D as a microphone to import audio into a video...
If anyone has any ideas about this it would be very much appreciated.
You can try a few voice recorder apps in the market. Hi-Q MP3 Rec lite records in 128 kbps mp3 and I think 10 minutes is the max for the free version im not sure though. There are tons of voice recorder apps so I have no idea which one is the best, I just got the first one that I saw . it works well when I need to hear a lecture from school again, but I have to sit sorta close to my teacher for the best quality.
DroidCam lets you use your phone as either a webcam or a microphone. So all you would have to do is record the input with any computer software like you normally would with a regular mic.
Let me know if it works.
I actually just ended up using the pre-loaded voice recorder app on my phone and then alligning the voice with the video... But this Droid cam app does look very promising.

Record with external Mic?

Can the GS2 record with from an external audio source via 4 pole mic? headset with built in mic peerhaps? What about bluetooth?
Also can anyone suggest where to get a 3.5mm to 3.5mm jack that is 4 pole?
I've gave up looking at ebay.
EDIT: Does not seem to record from bluetooth.
Nor mic without a 4 pole connector, Which I am still trying to find.
Bump!
Looking for your knowlege, Don have access to my headset with mic, Could someone test it?
I'm actually in the same boat as you. So far, I've seen conflicting reports. Some people say that external mics won't work with the stock camera app, some people say that any 4-conductor (TRRS) mic will work just fine, and some people say that you have to use a y-cable to be able to plug in a standard mic.
That said, I did find something called the i-Microphone that's supposed to work. There is even a video on YouTube where someone successfully tested it on the SGS2.
I can't post external links in my posts yet (haven't been here long enough), so you'll have to search for these using the terms below.
(1) Y-Cable:
Search Amazon for: Headset Buddy01-PC35-PH35)
(2) i-Microphone:
Search Google for: i-Microphone
(3) i-Microphone Test Video:
Search YouTube for: Samsung Galaxy S2 External Microphone vs Internal Test
Let me know if you find something that works for you!
I have discovered that the default camera app will not record audio from an external source.

[Q] can't use option AUDIO in service menu

Hi all,
Samsung Galaxy SII GT-I9100M
Generally I have a problem with my mic - as many others - ppl sometimes can hardly hear me or don't hear me at all when talking on the phone EVEN I can talk normally on Viber or Skype etc AND Voice Recording recognizes very low sound very GOOD
So I found on this forum, or somewhere, an service menu *#*#197328640#*#* where you can adjust some audio settings - BUT I CANT go only into this AUDIO (no 5) option, in all others everything works just fine.
Does someone know how to resolve this and enter into this sub-menu AUDIO, or maybe you have some better solution for resolving mic issue?
PLS HELP

[Solved] Earpiece Speaker

Not sure if this will work for others, but after losing sound from the earpiece and only being able to use the speakerphone for 4 months, I've found a solution (at least for me). I had looked into replacing the flex cable, but that didn't fix anything. So, I downloaded what seemed to be 50 apps and struck gold--or rather, a fully functional front and rear speaker.
The app is called "SoundAbout" and is free on the Play Store. Just open the app, go to "media output", and select "speaker". After doing this, I've been able to make and receive calls using the internal earpiece speaker again. Good luck to everyone, as this has revived my Atrix. Please post feedback as to whether this helped and what problem(s) it fixed--or not.
Thanks to the developer of this app!
