i wanted to install some zips..but the recovery mode changed and i couldnt do

Go into download mode and use one click odin to flash stock rom..don't worry u will be fine as long as u able to go into download mode...

Have a look at this thread to find a rom which matches your country/carrier. There is a guide to using Odin in that thread as well. If the download links don't work, write down the name of the stock rom you want to use & search for it on Samfirmware.com & download it there.

That's Ok I recommend you go back to stock Gingerbread, and then have another go at ICS. XXLPJ is stock ICS, you can use it, but as the warning says, it is a beta.
I'd use a GB stock rom for your country/carrier if were in your situation.

When flashing other roms or kernels, follow the instructions for flashing that rom or kernel to the letter & you shouldn't have problems.
Most custom kernels (all ?) are rooted, so you don't have to root again after installing them. And most custom kernels are flashable via CWM, tho many do have Odin flashable versions. My advice would be to stick to CWM flashable versions as this is the simplest way to flash a rom or kernel.

i say go for LA2 /LA3 and flash with ODIN.
no need to do anything else, you will now be on stock 2.3.6
you need to CF-root later if you want root.

budy if you want arabic than get the latest stock official, not the leaked ones as i remmber one arabic rom had issues......

Hello guys ,, I have downloaded VK ICS ROM V5.1.3 and i have put it in the internal memory of my device. I am now on the previous version of the same rom V5.1.2 , when i want to flash the new rom in the recovery mod,, it takes only few seconds no more than five seconds and says the installation was successful but actually when i reboot the phone, it stops on the first Logo which appears in the beginning of the Restart process. Although i do all the wipes before i start to flash the rom, i am unable to flash it

the file is not appropriate except for rocoverymod so how can i flash it throw Odin !!!!!!

yes bro different roms are normally installed and i even changed my kernel to siyah but still the problem occurs !! the previous version which is 5.1.2 gets flashed normally,
Note:
I flashed to an official 4.0.3 rom and then rooted my device to flash this rom but doesn't work and i have this problem only with this version of VK roms other roms are okay ,,, even the Rom file (zip) is okay not corrupted !!

im a galaxy s2 GT-I9100 user , im on resurrection remix 2.6.1 , siyah kernel 3.5.2+ ... i want to unroot my phone and revert it to stock because i want to take a nandroid backup of the stock firmware for emergencies , i saw Intratech toutrial , but i would like to know if this will work because it looks much better for me , i got my stock firmware from his thread and here it is :

can i flash this firmware via CWM ? it should work like any other ROM i install ..right ? and if that works , my phone will have the stock firmware right ?

If it's CWM flashable zip file then yes otherwise flash via Odin.

I know if you make a nandroid backup with specific version of CWM recovery, you can only restore it with same version, not any other versions it will gave error. Just keep your eye on that and be careful for when you want to restore that backup.
its is WinRAR archive (.7z) , so it is 7z file , does that work with CWM ?
also if i go back to stock , the nandroid backup will be with stock recovery mod , so i think that will be ok , correct me if im wrong

If its 7zip archive and inside is tar archive then it's not CWM flashable.

First you need Odin to flash your phone . If you're here you propably have got one . I recomend 3.04 or higher or 1.86 version .
1.Connect your phone to PC with Odin Flash Mode (home+ volume down + power during start )
2.In the Odin select PIT , CSC , PDA Files from pack :

It's for sure working . Because this rescue , me after JB flash . If you will install first this Russia ROM then you can flash Rom for your localization without problems
Using the above linked PIT together with a firmware for Europe (so starting with XX...; exactly the XXLL2) didn't bring me back to GB. Flashing worked fine, but afterwards the device had a bootloop (stopped at Samsung's logo) and booting into <3e> (Samsung's recovery OS) wasn't possible.
So I'll try with the "russian" firmware now.

Your phone will stuck on Ace 2 Screen .
First you need to flash using Russian Rom then you will be able to flash using UK Rom with change the regio code .
No , PIT File is original without any mods .

If I'm not mistaken,the pit file is the same for the entire Europe.
The problem is UK rom which does not contains all files needed.
Only Russia ROM contains all files needed to downgrade to GB.

The Problem isn't PIT File . It's universial for GB Roms . Problem is that you need to use 2 file ROM . Only one I found in the internet is this from Russia . Faster way is to install SEK Rom from first post . Then Reflash UK Rom and change Regional Code using *#272*IMEI# .

Thank you for this, will try as soon as download completes, JB is awesome but still unstable.
Edit: worked great, flashed Russian ROM first, then Polish LL8.
Notes:
- for other noobs like me, the CODE goes to PDA in ODIN
- as mentioned above, after you flash the second ROM, set the regional code by using *#272*IMEI# (generic EU is XEO I believe, it's what I had before I went to JB).
