How do I get this?
I am rooted!
Get SuperCore_1.6.tar and put it on your SD-Card
Get DarkyROM2 Tool from market
Open app and use "Flash/Install File from SDCARD" to browse to and install the kernel
If you are on anything prior to KH1 you need to select WIPE in DarkyROM2 Tool
After rebooting upload DarkyROM2_KH3_Base.zip to SD-Card and flash it like you did the kernel
Wait for the phone to reboot and flash the new firmware
I am not rooted
Flash SuperCore_1.6.tar with Odin (put in PDA and do NOT tick repartition)
Get DarkyROM2 Tool and Superuser from market
Upload DarkyROM2_KH3_Base.zip to SD-Card
If you are on anything prior to KH1 you need to select WIPE in DarkyROM2 Tool
Open DarkyROM2 Tool and use "Flash/Install File from SDCARD" to browse to and install DarkyROM2_KH3_Base.zip
Wait for the phone to reboot and flash the new firmware

Awesum! going to give it a shot and after that wait for any of the other devs to pick it up. Which im pretty sure of it wont take long.
cheers

Nice part about the original version is the option to be able to format/repartition your GS2 for a full clean install if anything is running crappy, or at least that works with all the other user_low_ship 3 file releases.

Can I just update the firmare via ODIN, I dont really wanna root my SGS2 as am happy with the stock rom?
I just flashed the KF3 xeuk firmware.....

If you pic the stock odin that you can flash normal

awesome !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! gonna try it right now !!! thanks !!

[04/07][ROM][XWKF3]ThiaiZ V0.2 Stock,stable,fast

Welcome to ThiaiZ V0.2
I saw that a lot of people out there would like a stock, stable, fast and rooted ROM, so i decided to make one on my own, keeping it as much as stock as possible. This is my first SGS2 ROM (got the device for 3 days ago), coming from HTC Desire which i have always developed my own ROMs.Be patient and I do really want to help this community to grow and find the best for this incredible peace of engineering called Samsung Galaxy S II.Suggestions are always welcome.
Here is how it looks:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BgWJcjYbJVA
Features:
-Base: XWKF3.
-Kernel: CF-Root-SGS2_XW_XEU_KE2-v4.0-CWM4.(Thanx ChainFire)
-Deodexed,Zipaligned and Signed.
-Some extra tweaks for speed and memory.
-Camera tweak.
-Everything from Samsung is still there.
-Gtalk 1.3 with video
-Native android SIP stack for Wifi AND 3G calls
-No themes (as I said, I want it stock).
-The only change is startup wallpaper.
-CRT animation. "Sorry for that guys, but u can disable it anyways"
-Desktop as Browsers UA as default. "Ops, sorry for that too, but i said i would do".
Changelog V0.2
-Apk tweaks for speed (it seem to have worked).
-Phone.apk bug from v0.1 is fixed here.
-Changed to this Kernel CF-Root-SGS2_XW_OJV_KF1-v4.0-CWM4.zip - Come on guys, choose the kernel that fits your Rom better, the one here works better for my needings, so feel free, there are lots out there.
Known bugs:
-You tell me, please.
How you Install it:
http://www.multiupload.com/1DAB68308S
-Download and copy the .ZIP file onto your SD or Phone.
-Restart device in CWM (Vol up + Home + power)
-Backup your old Rom
-Wipe data + cache (All your data will be gone)(V0.2 itself will wipe your data)
-Choose "Install Zip from SD card"
-Browse the .ZIP file and install it.
-Boot device and ENJOY.
-I'm not responsible for your mistakes you should know what you are doing.
**I do really recommend the use of Tegrak Overclock**Buy it from Market.
-I do play a lot and we know that some games like (Asphalt 6) are made to not use the whole GPUs power , it means lower FPS.But at the same time I want a longer battery life the screens to move smoothly and i don't want the device to overheat, so what I did is.
-Install Tegrak Overclock
-Load the modules
-Go to GPU optmization and change values to:
-267 - 975 and 200 - 950, if it works for me should work for you too.
Old Versions.
V0.1
http://www.multiupload.com/ZU48COCMUJ
Updates to V0.1 ,don't flash it to V0.2.
1st update is out.
-Green status icons
-CRT animation
-Desktop as browsers default user agent
Download and flash via CWM

More is coming perhaps tomm.

one must use a kernel matching the ROM right? KF3 kernel for a XWKF3 ROM . I see that you have used a KE2 kernel. I am still new to android..

You can actually use the Kernel you think fits better,at least for now when all the Roms out there are based on official samsung bases and so are the kernels. When I first excrated the Base, a KF1 kernel came together, but i decided that this one just works better.I'm gonna start doing a research about kernels, cause i don't think any of those out there matchs my expectations 100%.

[15/12][NEW DUAL BOOT PROCEDURE][Secondary OS][Dual Boot AOSP and Sammy]

Hey guys!!
I'm here to introduce you the first Dual ROM for this device!!
Haven't you ever wanted to have the speed and awesomeness of AOSP ROM but without missing the special features of Stocks ROM (Tv OUT and so on.)?!?
This prebuild flashable zips I made allows you to install and boot into 2 different OSes according to the way you start the phone.
I wanted to start telling you that nothing would have been possible without the inventor of the special kernel inside the ROMs HellcatDroid and this is the kernel's thread if you need more info about it!
How this works?
There's a special kernel inside the ROM which is the same both for Sammy and for AOSP ROM which boot into a os (primary) just booting up the phone as we normally do. The secondary OS boots when you press the Recovery Combo. The recovery starts if you power off the phone and attach the charger.
here's a video explaining how it works :
VIDEO
Downloads and new procedure
I completely changed the procedure and the way you should dualboot...so this is the NEW procedure :
1)Go to recovery, make a nandroid backup and then wipe all your data (strongly suggested)
2)Install the ROM you want for PRIMARY OS (you can choose the one you mostly like here on xda!)
3)Then and only then choose between these beautiful ROMs for your SECONDARY OS :
CheckROM v4
MIUI 9.12
CM7
4)Enjoy!
IF YOU WANT TO RESTORE EVERYTHING BACK :
Install via CWM this package : RESTORE OS
This will delete your secondary OS permanently and leave just your primary with Siyah kernel
Changelog
-Brand NEW procedure!
-Restore Primary OS option
-CheckROM v4
OLD Downloads
Here's the most sweet part...
each ROM has a primary OS (more space and boots as you normally do) and a secondary OS (less space and boots with recovery combo)...
It depends on your preferences...however here it is :
http://www.multiupload.com/Y357LP81T9 > Clean Sammy (primary) MIUI (secondary)
http://www.multiupload.com/ZWGKORKUC4 > Clean Sammy (primary) CM7 (secondary)
http://www.multiupload.com/OCAVFNEL0N > MIUI (primary) Clean Sammy (secondary)
http://www.multiupload.com/RO00M8UC7P > CM7 (primary) Clean Sammy (secondary)
Final notes and instruction
Please just boot into ROMs and Recovery as it's shown in the video!!
DONT USE REBOOT TO RECOVERY or similar command because it can make you to be stucked in a single ROM!!!
The most stable ROMs are the one with Sammy ROM as primary just because it requires more space than AOSP but the others runs good as well.
THE SECONDARY OS HAS NOT SO MUCH SPACE!!! So you can't install many apps on it.
This thread is for development only. so if you have a suggestion send me a PM.
If you want me to create other ROMs just ask me and if you have technical problems write here in the thread and I'll try to answer to most of you.
I'll make further development just if I see that it is interesting for you as I am a very busy person!
If you want to edit your preference you can use lolboot app on the market here :
https://market.android.com/details?id=net.hellcat.droiddev.lolboot
Credits
-HellcatDroid for his kernel and his precious instructions
-Siyah for the base of this kernel which is able to run on every ROM!!
-CM7 team and MIUI for their beautiful ROMs
-Samsung for his good stock ROM
-LeoMar75 and GadgetCheck (visit CheckROM's thread here)
Enjoy and IF you want to contribute look at my signature and DONATE
Gonna try this!!!:d
To get the TV Out feature, can I use CM7 as primary and Sammy as secondary?
This would be just great for testing out beta/experimental ROMs on one partition without hampering your primary driver.
Good work mate!
Willl try awesome dude

However sure you can!!
It's uploading...that's what I do...I leave Stock ROM as secondary just for TV out and enjoy the awesomeness of AOSP as primary...
PS More has to come...slighter Stock ROM and better optimized AOSP...if you have any questions or suggestions please let me know!!
EDIT : New ROM Added!!
This seems to be one of the best things happened to SGS II in recent times, awesome!
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
what if battery complitly dies ? then can we charge it or it would go to recovery without charge???
and can we change the files inside preload folder with new MIUI (For example change it with the latest update for next week) ( if it's already MIUI ) or not ???
or can we change the main file(Primary files) with new weekly MIUI ( IF it's already miui as primary ) ?
Can this samsung one change to checkrom v4??

Yes...it could...but you should ask the permission to the ROM's dev first...and only then I'll start to make a double ROM with it...
If the battery dies you can attach the charger and it will charge your battery even if it's in recovery...wait some minutes and then reboot...and it's done...
If MIUI or CM7 is PRIMARY you can directly update it with the weekly package provided by the ROM team...it's fair...
if you have MIUI or CM7 as SECONDARY you should change the updater script of the secondary or change the preload dir as you said...
however if there'll be a great interest I'm gonna update it very very frequently...so there'll be no need to do this...
I'm going to make the Samsung ROM much lighter...MIUI or CM7 ROM as PRIMARY is however the best choise if you want to stay up to date with these ROMs...
Cheers dude!
And thank you for the interest shown...
thank you alot...
yes
miui would be a great idea as a primary and sammy as second ...
now...
i'm going to flash this amazing ROM/KERNEL/ ( don't know what should we call it ... but it's great ... )
but one last question ....
if we update through rom updater in the miui what would happend to kernel ???
---------- Post added at 03:47 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:22 PM ----------
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW...
it's VERY CLEAN... FAST... Without ANY Problem ...
just i should test the Battery/wifi/Bluetooth and ... just because of new kernel ...
thank you so much
keep UP the GOOD and Amazing work...
Quick question: the Japanese SGS2 (the sc-02c) is a bit kernel needy, and thus really only responds to siyah kernel and stock. If I install this rom, but then reflash siyah's kernel, am I just wasting time?
I cant get it work. I am stuck at boot screen.
1 Problem :
for the first time i flashe sammy+miui and every thing goes well
but then i flashed miui+sammy and it's not going to recover as you mentioned at OP
please help...
i don't know what to do...
i want Flash RTL Patch on my miui ( Which is the primary rom for me )
What version of Siyah is being used to power this? Thx.
Also why not link to hellcat's app?
Doesn't work for me either. Installed Sammy as primary as miui as secondary. Phone now only boots into miui whether I hold recovery buttons or not. Also phone does not boot into recovery so I now need to flash back via ODIN.
Lolboot
If anybody has it working could you install lolboot from market and check if it works with it?

Please keep in mind that it's still under development and I need some time to make it work properly...I'm going to put fast link to boot into a OS using a simple command in the other ROM...
Probably you used command like "boot in recovery" or something similar...the kernel made by HellcatDroid is still under dev and need some fixes...
You could just install another normal kernel and go back to recovery with the classic combo...

It's 2.0 however the first thing I made is to link everybody to HellcatDroid thread in which there's a section for his app...
NO OTHER KERNEL ARE SUPPORTED FOR THE MOMENT!

I'll continue my development to make it much stabler...for the time being it do need some fixes...I totally agree with you...

CheckRom help

I've got CheckRom installed with Kitchen. I've gone into Kitchen to install the ICS Theme but when it installs, I cannot use the Phone or Contacts function. An error comes up about some android.process. Is that not working? Also what is the best theme on there at the moment?
Try factory reset .

Thank you so much guys. Done it and worked perfect. Then reinstalled the ICS theme and worked. Another noob question. The Kitchen app shows kernels available to download, if I do download it from there and install, is this a no wipe or would it wipe everything from my handset? Which kernel do you recommend?
Also I know it ain't as smooth as my friends one.
No wipe. Leave the same kernel or speedmod for stability.
I went to download rom on the Kitchen app, I am pretty sure I've got the latest version. It says that there's an update and tries to download but always stops around the 30% mark. Is this update an error?

Thanks for the reply
Since I can't post in the development thread, can someone let me know if CheckRom will have an update soon for ICS. In a related query, why does the update on the kitchen app for the rom stop downloading after a while....
Does anyone else's home screen swipe lag a bit?
Today i'm instal this CheckRom (RevoHD v4) with ICS 1.7 Domination Soul Bound theme and it look like a Charm. Its faster and incredible then stock room.

Omega v5.2 ROM (default version) vs stock firmware

Hi,
I read up on the Omega v5.2 ROM and it looks very good. I just want to know from those who are already using it, how much better performance is it using the recommended version whcih I think is called the "Default" vs the stock firmware? It is that much smoother and better battery performance?

No its far to early to be better by anything but a very small margin .
Battery performance is down to the user not the firmware .

Tried Omega 4.2 and 5.2 briefly. Both times it broke Navigon and the camera hung on me. Don't see any benefit of the Hyperx mod. 5.2 caused my phone to warm up noticably.
So you wouldn't recommend 5.2? Also, if I do decide to flash it, do I need to do a full wipe in CWM before I flash it or can I just flash it from stock in CWM?

A full wipe is the recommend, because then you have a clean installation and you beware of strange failures.
An instruction how you should flash Omega ROM is in the development thread (4th post) --> Installation Guide
I don't know if your phone is rootet yet, if so skip the first step and start with booting in CWM recovery.
Had used Omega on my SGS II, now using Omega on SGS III since 3.0. Works great for me, no errors whatsoever.
Omega 5.2 is flawless ok but hyper x mod is useless. It creates noise in video recording. No need to use 30mbps bit rate but if in future 60fps recording come true it will be a charm!!

Hi aslak89,
Thank you for the port.
Currently I am running Stock 4.0.3 on a i9100 which is a converted SHW-M250S.
Just to confirm, please comment on the below steps if my understanding is correct.
Now, for me to install your updated ROM,
First I should flash Jelly Bean KSJMB1 for M250S (my converted i9100 back to M250S using a Korean M250S JB PIT file [with a different partition size than the regular M250S PIT file] and by using Odin.
Then, install your SHW-M250S_MB1_DisasterMOD_ROM_V2.zip using CWM? (If I flash the stock JB KSJMB1, How will I be able to get the temporary CWM?) (Or should I check for a pre-rooted JB KSJMB1?)
Could you please post the rooted version link if you have?
I am downloading the file from https://hotfile.com/dl/194281908/deb93f2/M250SKSJMB1_ROOT.ZIP.html and hope it will be a rooted version.
Could you please be a little elaborative in your steps for such scenarios? (cases the user has converted M250S to i9100)
Also does this has any fix to remove the 80 character SMS limitation, dialer issues, and other usability issues like extremly off-compass and GPS and very low vibration issues?
I believe the vibration, compass and gps should be fixed by moving to JB KSJMB1, but I just wanted to know about the SMS issue and dialer issue. Atleast if the SMS is fixed, I can live with the dialer!!!
Thanks for all the hardwork and I am willing to move back to M250S because of the above mentioned issues! I just hate the low vibration becoz most of the time, the phone will be on vibration mode due to my nature of work!!!
Sorry for asking too many questions and dumping them in a single post, but I have nobody to ask but you about the modified rom for M250S!! Not many seem to be knowledgeable about it too!!

Yes. That's correct. Just flash the firmware with pit file through Odin, and flash this rom through CWM. But, it isn't necessary to use rooted firmware because it simply overwrites the whole system partition.(and this rom is rooted)
You can download temporary CWM from clockworkmod.com, and you may flash it through stock recovery to use it(external sdcard needed!)
I was using XXLSJ(GT-I9100 JB leaked) before flashing this rom, and there wasn't any problem except that the internal sdcard was wiped out.
For some bugs(?) you mentioned, I never had any of these problems, so I can't answer for them. Sorry

Thank you so much!!
I have updated the JB ROM and I have installed the SHW-M250S_MB1_DisasterMOD_ROM_V2.zip with a temporary CWM!
But still the SMS limit is only 80 characters, but all other issues seem to be fixed. GPS and Compass are working as expected.
Could you please tell me if I have to install the UPDATE_DisasterMOD_V2.zip too after installing the above ROM update?
Also, is there any system level fix for the 80 character sms limitation with Disaster ROM update? I know I can install another application to handle SMS, but some banking apps do not work in India due to the 80 Character limitation!
Thanks for everything!!

It can be flashed directly from MB1 using either CWM or Tegrak Recovery. In case of me, I used Tegrak Recovery for flashing the updated one. It seems like u haven't noticed that you can both root ur device and flash the rom using a kernel from Tegrak which is recently updated to MB2 based.
