I found this while searching around google. I tried it and highly recommend it. Although some things didn't work for me, such as the lockscreen. Also cannot figure out how to remove the verizon banner from the status bar

I took verizon off the banner once and gave my phone a constant flashing triangle saying i was in roaming. I was gonna switch roms to get of rid of it but sbf'd back to give myself something to do. Got rid of it. My recommendation is don't switch the banner.

I figured out my problems now. And sorry for the late relpy, haven't been on in a while. But what you need to do in order to remove the verizon banner is the opposite of what you would think. If you use this kitchen, leave it there and just change the transparency to 0 % I did this and got it to work. Ill attach a photo for you

Are you using the CM rom or any other?? Im currently on Hexen and wondering if this will affect it... Though it looks great ,and very user friendly....

Well waiting now for my rom to cook. Shall see how well it works w/Hexen.. Ill post afterwards....
*edit. not so well.... your better off doing it yourself or finding one set just for your rom i guess....

any word on this working on stock GB?
i'm out of options as to why I keep getting bootloop

3g icon to 4g tbolt icon

I searched but couldnt come up with anything. I saw someone who did this in the post your homescreen thread, and it was kind of cool. Has anyone tried this? If so is it possible to make a flashable zip of it? I tried to find the post i saw but i cant seem to. Thanks in advance.
why would someone change it since all fascinates are on 3g and will remain on 3g since we don't have the hardware for 4g

I did it exactly as posted with those 2 colors and it worked fine...im on sc 2.9.2 if it makes a difference...doubt it does though. remember to hit end project and dont zipalign, you can hit yes or no on the next pop up i hit no though. then reboot.
i don't get a pop up after if i want to zipalign like it says and i am on sc 2.9.2 also which is weird and i can not figure out y it just keeps looping

[Q] root tools app

Is it possible to use root tools in the x2 to change the pull down status bar where it says Verizon Wireless to something different? Before I change it root tools tells me it could be potentialy dangerous. I just wanted to see if anyone has confirmed this to work.
Don't know if it matters but I am on eclipse .2.1 rom

Not sure if this is going to help but that 'verizon wireless' isn't just a banner like old phones, its telling you what network you are on. It changes on its own when you leave your main service area (changes to extended network) and will say 'no signal' under obvious circumstances. I would imagine changing it wouldn't really hurt anything, but id definitely recommend a nandroid backup first

I tried it and had to to do a battery pull and reboot... Don't remeber if I had to restore or not... But, yeah, it doesn't work...
I changed mine as well. Now it shows my full name, which helps me because there are 3 Droid X2's in my house. LOL
I was able to change it when I was on rooted froyo, but since I updated to the pre rooted 2.3.3 gb I tried to change it and the phone kept force closing on me so I had to sbf...just be sure to have a backup
Changed mine and as soon as I did something forced closed I think it was android market(its been a week or so since i used it) then asked to reboot and everything is working like normal

Another great addition to the ever expanding rom list.

I'm on the SBF of 2.3.4 which I debloated with Titanium. Would flashing to this deodexed version do anything for me? I looked up the definition of deodexed but was still a little confused. Is it faster than the stock odexed version? Can someone offer me a dumb down explanation?

lmao this is great.
To answer the question, deodexing is to enable customization to the rom. Also, In theory, you SHOULD get better performance due to the processor only reading apk, as opposed to two. Some say its not as quick, others say it is quick. Bottom line, you NEED this to be done if you are going to design a custom rom or to do a theme. Alos, this allows easier bloat removal, imo, because you are now faced with just deleting 1 file as opposed to two.

Change top menu bar out action bat to have vertical battery out just look like cm9

How can you make or change your top menu bar action bar whatever it is? More bars on signal meter? Vertical battery, preferably black with blue evrything. Blue battery until charging, then green, orange when low.... On stock rom, locked bootloader

As far as i know, it's rom specific. Only problem is the result of your efforts is a flashable zip compatible with CWM. So you'll need to be unlocked and rooted. But you'll still be able to stay on stock rom and make these changes so it won't affect the way your phone works in any way except of course, lack of 4gees. But honestly if youre gonna go that far might as well just install custom roms. So ya know, it's a decision youll have to make.

your best method is use the UOT Kitchen http://uot.dakra.lt/ you make the mods you want for your phone and upload the files it tells you. It does the work for you then you reinstall them.
Its not simple but then its not real complicated either just make backups of whatever you do

Nah, cause you are replacing vital files. Normally you would, say, delete systemui.apk and replace it with the modified version with a file manager. Deleting systemui will crash the phone. That's why it must be changed either by throwing the modified files into the rom zip before flashing. Or by flashing the theme zip after rom installation.

If you just want to change the battery, wifi, signal, etc., icons, along with the color of the status bar and you are rooted but not necessarily unlocked, you can use jrummy's rom toolbox pro. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrummy.liberty.toolboxpro&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsImNvbS5qcnVtbXkubGliZXJ0eS50b29sYm94cHJvIl0.

Ninjamorph will let you extract the framework-res and SystemUI right on your phone. Problem is putting back the SystemUI via Ninjamorph will cause a bootloop. There may be a workaround for this but I never spent any time trying to figure it out. The app used to work great on the ogEVO but that was a lot easier to theme than the Photon in my opinion.

ICS updated but want Ginerbread back i think

I waited and waited. Thought about rooting and using a ROM before the official ICS update came from AT&T but just decided to wait. Finally got the update via Kies, excited like a school girl. Initially it was a cool new bit of scenery, and as the OS settled in with me, i found myself disappointed and wanting my gingy back. I've been upgrade for a couple months now i think, and had plenty of time to try to get used to it.
I am finding lots of things that just plain suck.
1 - Text message notification audible alert discontinues after awhile (unknown amount of time), only resolution I've found is to reboot the phone. This sucks because just out of nowhere my text notification tone stops. Everything else like ringtone etc is fine. This is a dealbreaker for me almost. This worked fine on Ginerbread.
2 - new Swype software gives me problems when the word suggestion feature stops working completely. Swype is hard to do without word suggestions at times. Only solution i've found is again, reboot the phone. This sucks. I know, don't use swype, but i WANT to use it. It worked perfectly on Gingerbread.
3 - the widget for Google Voice is super tiny now, and i don't see a way of making it bigger. It's approximately the size of 4 icons, whereas before on Gingerbread it was huge and you could easily read/see your voicemails. Maybe i'm missing something on how to change the widget size, but i see no way of doing it.
4 - my News and Weather widget, which i used for weather and news all the time, since my original Galaxy S, does not display any weather information anymore. Just says "No Weather Information". this worked fine on Gingerbread. I guess different phone OS makes widgets work differently. I just want mine to work as expected. News still comes through fine though.
5 - Unlocking the screen seems more difficult now, usually takes me a couple tries, whereas it seemed really smooth and awesome before the update
6 - Power Saving widget is huge now, takes up half of one screen, whereas before it was just 1 row and you could scroll across. Why make it bigger and take up more room with no additional functionality?
After listing all this out, i'm trying to think of the things i LIKE about ICS update, and i can only think of one, which is the data monitoring/limiting which is kind of a cool feature. I doesn't seem any faster really than before. So overall, i honestly was happier with Gingerbread. 6 things that i find that suck versus one thing i like.
Maybe this is me being picky, but as excited as I was to get ICS, i'm equally disappointed in the upgrade. My wife uses a Galaxy Note and it is available for her phone now, and I told her don't bother with the upgrade.
Anyone have any advice??? experience the same problems? I know i could root, install a custom rom etc, but i really like the touchwiz stuff from samsung and i was really happy with just the stock gingerbread OS, even with all the bloatware, i just disregard all that junk.
I'm having the same problem with text notification I just notice that I get a text it would sound but just about an hour ago it just stopped I would get a text and nothing ringtones works and everyrhing but I think is a ics bug maybe it would get fixed in the new update 4.0.4

at&t sucks. bottom line.
Advice, if you want to stick with touchjizz, run a custom one, there are plenty that *should* have those issues taken care of.
But the widget size issue, thats just looks, with a different launcher can change size of widgets.
Lol I called this one. A bunch of people upgrade to stock ICS. Then they complain and want to switch back, mess it up, and start new threads. Hopefully they all learned their lesson about carrier upgrades . I mean even I tried it, just to see what it looked like and how it functioned. Then again I knew how to get back to a custom Rom Before I did it. It's actually not too bad, but there were just too many bugs and battery life was too bad for my taste.

It isn't 100% on all phones it seems to be random but instead of posting something VERY VERY risky for people not so inclined to troll the forums and find out about the risks of certain actions why not shut up or post what you think will work then link them to a topic showing what bad could happen. You just seem like you want people to brick and make more topics about how they tried to reset and bricked. You also need to think of Google searches that link to this topic and they read it and see you said reset and they do it. It isn't just xda its anyone with the internet don't lead people to a possible brick
