hi, my battery was really low than my phone turned off. i went home to charge but no charging sign. tried to charge it for 1 hour nothing happend. did my phone just died? or can i do somthing to get it back to work?

also i drained it 3 times the past 3 days, could i have broken the battery becouse of this?

try plugging the charger in with the battery out, and fit the battery after and see if it starts to charge? maybe leave it connected overnight or try another battery if possible.

I'm not an expert, so double check the information I'm giving you, as it might be wrong.
Have you tried to use a USB jig to revive the phone? You can buy one on eBay for €5. Hopefully it will solve the problem.
Otherwise, I don't think that it should be the case, but it is reported that SSD drives can be completely erased when they suffer a subtle power cut. In this case, there is no damage other than the complete wipe of all information on the memory. As far as I'm concern, the phone's memory is quite similar to SSD and other flash memories, therefore it would be a possibility, although it is not likely.
Should it be the case, it's better to seek Samsung Service Centre's help. Running out of battery should never damage the phone, therefore, if you have warranty it should be covered.

also i noticed that after a few hours of trying to charge it the battery feels really colld. could this mean the battery is dead?

[Q] X10 Slow Battery Charging. Help please!

Hello. Today I bought an Xperia X10 from a SH store. Anyway the phone came in great conditions and at a great price. The boy from there gave me the phone and charger + USB cable. All things good till I start charging it. I should mention that when I got the phone it was at aprox. 60% and after using intensively (like when you just buy a phone) it was, after 5 h, at 22%.
Let's get to the problem: I plug the phone with the charger to socket and let it charge. After 3h it went from 22% to 52% . I mean this is really impossible to understand.
My question is how can I find what is wrong. Now I'm wondering if the charger or the USB cable or the Battery is not original.
On the charger there is written SonyEricsson, so I guess it is original. I'll try tomorrow to search for it's S/N on the net. The Output Voltage is 5V and 700mA, which I saw that is normal for an original charger.
The USB cable looks kind of fishy to me.
The battery seems original.
So what could it be wrong and how can I find it out? Any thoughts, beside what I've asked, about this kind of problem are well appreciated.
Thank you.
That's odd considering the current that was flowing to your battery. Try turning off your phone and charging it to 100%. Maybe It needs some adjusting. Also i suggest rooting your phone, no problems with battery at all with the ROMS that are out
Thank you for your fast response. I'll try to charge it to full when it is powered off to see if time differs.
When do you mean "no battery problems with available ROM's" do you mean no charging problems?
yes i mean that
The only reasons u could have a reduction of current is if heat is an issue or if your phone is in heavy use. Also if the charger is faulty of course. So check the temperature while charging and try diabling wifi and any data u have going on the phone. That should help.

Thank you for your response. While I left the phone charging there was nothing running at all. Also I didn't notice the phone heating too much.
I went to the guy from who I bought the phone, and he said that he will order an original charger at no cost for me. So I think I'll wait for that one and see how it works.
But out of curiosity: could it also be the cable that is limiting the power? The cable is not original.

Yes, a faulty cable can't charge the phone properly.
Wait and see how it goes with the new charger!
Did you plug it in staight after you used it? My phone seems to drain when it is at around 45 degrees even though it doesnt feel hot. Let it cool by turning it off for 10 minutes or so and try again.

Everything is fine now with the new charger which looks more than original and the USB Cable, also original. (The charge time is ~ 2-3h - empty -> full)
Thank you all for your help.

[Q] how to get fast charge work?

For some reason my phone don't always use fast charging when I plug it in. Sometimes it will just say cable charging and takes couple hours to charge and some times it will say fast charge... Its really random.
Does anyone know why this is happening?
Using the 2.0 amp charger included will fast charge your phone.

That's what I am using but still, it doesn't always fast charge and that's why I asked the question
Hmm....mine goes to fast charge as soon as I plug it in. Get gsam battery monitor, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gsamlabs.bbm&hl=en
It has detailed charts on charging info. Maybe you can track down if there is a pattern.

check the battery setting! and try a different cable!
I know one issue was that using the included charger, if you dont make sure the cable is plugged all the way into it it will not fast charge. It will still do the cable charge, but if you plug it in just a bit harder it will switch to fast charge. Might check that.

User manual says:
Increasing the charging speed
To increase the charging speed, turn the device or its screen off when you charge the battery.
• While charging the battery when the device is turned off, the icon appears on the
screen.
• You cannot use the fast charging feature when the screen is turned on. Turn off the
screen to increase the charging speed.
• You can check the remaining charge time on the screen. The actual remaining time
may vary depending on the charging conditions.
• You cannot use the built-in fast charging feature when you charge the battery
using a standard battery charger.
• If the device heats up or the ambient air temperature rises, the charging speed may
decrease automatically. This is a normal operating condition to prevent damage to
the device.

If it's not related to what turt mentioned about temperature., I would consider getting it exchanged while it's early.
I got mine from best buy and they have 14 day exchange/return.
My battery temp has been max 94F.

no... I dont think its temp related. Last night after 3 tries I can finally get it to fast charge and the trick I think is to get the screen off before plugging in the cable.
I wonder if the length of the USB connector has something to do with it too cause I bought a extra QC2.0 charger and I can get it to fast charge reliably everytime, but the QC 2.0 car charger doesnt work for me at all with the cable that came with it. I might need to try a different cable and see

THANK YOU! Top reply I was trying to work out why it wouldn't fast charge, even when using the supplied charger and cable, however I hadn't realised that I needed to push the USB A end (the bit the plugs into the charger) that extra bit - Fast Charge now working and return avoided!
my phone just started the same issue. till last night it was working perfectly fine but all of a sudden when I put my phone to charging this morning, it says cable charging instead of fast charging, I've tried different chargers as well but still no luck. I thought maybe it was a software issue so I should try a factory reset. In order to make backup, I tried connecting to my laptop but windows refused to detect my device and it says your device is not working properly. Anyhow I did a factory reset (loosing all my data) still it shows cable charging. Any idea what this problem is about?
Try plugging in while ur screen is off. It did the trick to mine
i was just about to post about this same problem, til i looked over, and my phone switched from "charging" to "fast charging" once my phone was over 15% in battery life. So thats what i think it is..... If you plug in with less than 15% battery life, it is not powerful enough to fast charge. Once it hits 15% it will be powerful enough to "fast charge". does this seem like a reasonable explanation, cuz thats all i got LOL
I've had the same issue on and off with my Edge+ and have realized there are 2 things that will help start fast charging. First is to close all open apps and notifications, second turn your screen off and wait a few seconds and plug in. Hopefully this will help

Galaxy S II not charging

hello so I have enjoying my phone for about 2 years.:laugh::laugh: but I had this problem recently. When I try to charge my phone when its about 30% below, It doesn't charge. When I plug my phone, the battery says the phone is charging but the percentage doesn't count, I mean battery percentage still reduces even tho it is charging. When it drains, it shows a battery with a yellow triangle and wont open again.
Any help? Anything I can do about this??

Try a new/different battery. It sounds like yours is about to die
oh sorry, I forgot to mention that, I have bought a new battery. An Original one. I think I bought it about 3 weeks ago
If you bought your 'original' battery from eBay, the chances are that it's the exact opposite of original......
That aside, I'm thinking that it *could possibly* be the USB port on the device.....
If as you say, your device is over 2 years old, you've done well for the port to last that long......
http://i.imgur.com/rVnFwJM.jpg
I have bought a usb board on ebay too, about month ago because the port's solder is messed up and I got no clue fixing it. It works for about a month properly. But I just had this problem.
I saw some articles outside XDA, that I should remove the battery, wait 10 secs, then plug charger and immediately insert the battery and turn it on.
My phone finally works, and it charges properly. But I have to do it a lot of times just my phone to charge hahahah!
Thanks mate :--)
Lol...well done fella. ...I didn't do a lot though....it was you that found the fix.....
This issue will more than likely happen again, but at least you now know how to sort it.....

Never charge a phone with a laptop, it uses a process called trickle charging which can cause damage to your battery!

Okey guys, new thread update:
I have got new Xperia Z2, previous had some hardware touch screen problems.. and what? Same problem on new device. This problem occurs while upgrading android from 4.4 to 6.0.1 by installing updates one by one without any pause/reboot. Firstly it was around 80% max, last time 68%.. now I have solution. (Because of post above this one, I have uninstalled Smart Connect for tests). I have discharged battery to 0% and plugged in wall charger. It started to on/off/on/off after some time and I turned on screen to see % of charging.. it was 68%. I though I can keep screen up for sometime and check if it will pass 68% (because with turned on screen it drains enegry so it can't charge to "max").. and this passed... I dont know why its working, but it is. Started to blink again at 73%, 80%, 86%, 90% for sometime and now its 95%.... Just need to have turned on screen so it can't charge to its "max" After it reach 1% above limit, then turn off screen. Its definitely software bug. I still dont know how it will behave after discharging again.. Will post update. (btw. its cold like ice. xD)

I tried Motorola X Play charger and Blackberry one and they works without any problem but with the original charger and the M5 one got the on/off problem.
I've contacted Sony and send them a logcat and they said that I should send it them but I didn't, because I don't have second phone
I am having this problem recently too. My battery often charge at a very low current ( 10mA ~ 700mA ) and today it even discharge itself when plugged in!! I tried both USB charger and magnetic charging cable but still it turns out the same. I have criticized this problem on SuperSU v2.78 SR1, Google Play Service v9.8.75 and restoring them to the previous versions but still nothing changed. What I did later is I wiped all partitions ( except external_sd ) and installed AOSPA ( previously I was on eXistenZ v5.6.5 ) and after it boots it finally return a 1A current to me. However, this only happens occasionally which it will possibly corrupted like a couple of days ago. Still need to figure out what the he** is wrong with this thing. Frankly speaking, I nearly wanted to rush out to the 24/7 service centre in Hong Kong at 2am lol.

lol this happened to me too about 3 days ago.
I used the phone as always do and wanted to charge it normally with a usb cable but then i got this
CHARGING
on off on off on off
the off took 1-5 seconds and the charging led, tone and animation only appeared for a second and then went off.
it wasnt the charger, nor the cable. it was the micro usb port, no idea why because I didn`t drop it etc
a micro usb port replacement part costs only 15 bucks but unfortunately I don`t have the equipment and knowledge for repairing electrinical parts
so I had to fu**ing replace the whole motherboard which is very expensive even if you do it yourself!!! now it works ut I will never repair my z2 again. I bought it for 400$ and since buying it I spent 300$ on repairing it. if you wouldn`t have done that myself I would had spent 700$ usd for repairing it at our local phone shop.
Just cleared Smart connect app data and charged it with the default charger (14% to 100%) it charged without any problem

Question Charging issue

Hey Guys,
Anyone else experience slow to almost non existent charging speed if the phone has been on for a few hours?
The only way it goes back to charging fast is if I restart the phone while its plugged into a charger.
I have tried using the stock charger and aftermarket ones and different cables as well. Makes no difference until restart.
Chime in if anyone has any idea whats happening and/or how to fix it.
PS: I am unlocked and rooted if that matters.
Is the screen off? Having the screen on during charging will skew the charge cycle.
Does it charge normally when shutdown?
Possible battery, charging port, or mobo failure.
Check phone for any signs of battery swelling.
Same issue here. Got the phone today, charges sloooow by USC-C as well as QI... Although it shows "fast charging" in settings. I will check, if it's better after a reboot.

Battery seems to hold a charge fine, there is no swelling and discharge behavior is normal. Used to charge normally a few days ago.

Make sure the port is clean and free of debris.
Inspect and carefully clean* if needed with a toothbrush and a small amount of anhydrous isopropyl alcohol.
Lol, RO water if needed than the alcohol.
Allow to dry completely.
*I live in a dusty environment and even after 2 years never had to clean my C port. However my bdu cargo pants pockets are lint free, not all pants pockets are. In general these ports seem to stay clean but you know how that goes...
Same here. Did someone find a solution?
In my case it just normalized itself after a few days of usage... strange thing was, that the slow charging affected both, usb and qi charging.
Glad you fixed.
Btw maybe intelligent charging. If phone can't detect a time where you don't use it it have problem adapting charging speed. If you change everyday the moment you put it on charge better deactivate that option
If I may continue this thread, I have another question about the charging. Is it possible to disable fast charging?
I only charge at night so I don't need my phone to warm up from quick charge. On my old Samsung Galaxy Note 9 I could do it, but now I can't find the setting.
Thanks.

The only harmful part of the charge cycle on this phone is the top-off, and you can adjust that. You could use a 5W charger but I doubt it would extend the life.
More beneficial is checking other threads for features that may drain (add wear to) the battery.

Simply use a 12 watt or less brick.
Fast charging needs a compatible 25w brick and cable (Samsung). In most phones it has to be enabled. Disabling fast charging is easy... enabling it sometimes is not

The whole point of having a feature is to use it when needed. If I am in a hurry I want to activate 30W charging with a single toggle in the settings. I don't have to bring two different power bricks, one 5W, one 30W, and manually switch between them.

you should get a new phone it's the only way to fix it because it's broken and you can't fix it when it's like that.
