[Q] Need a good ROM! - Optimus One, P500, V General

Im wanting a ROM that runs fairly fast and has very many "goodies" such as a mix between cyanogenmod and bumblebee. The reason is because i like to have a fast phone but get bored with my ROMs very easily! Is there a rom out there or is any developers out there working on one right now?! All answers are appreciated

Yeah here is a good one for you: http://www.google.com/cse?q=optimus...ub-2900107662879704:fs7umqefhnf&ie=ISO-8859-1

Just get IHO/BACKside CM7.1, it's being actively developed and runs fairly stable with lots of features.

Please don't make threads like this. Read the threads on the ROMs like the rest of us do.

Try the Megatron ROM It is the fastest and most stable ROM I've ever used

And use Mik_os Kernal (lag when touch fix) with Megatron

since the OP mentioned bumblebee, he is talking about roms for the optimus v.
@OP, do not flash megatron for your phone

I don't know if it has many "goodies", but I'm using Harmonia 1.6 with a Xionia AnyKernel 14 with a button swapper, giving me Harmonia working with my S screened OV, and it's working amazingly for me so far

Miks 2.3.8 or sonygenmod or cyanogenmatt v1.1 with fserve kernel or Franco's kernel.-+- amazingly fast, snappy loaded with battery life and features..

I'm pretty sure that OP is talking about the Optimus V, I suggest trying out MiRaGe. It has BobZombie's latest kernel, it runs smoothly, the battery life is great, and it gets updated pretty often probably every couple of days something new for it gets released.

I've seen in the comments that it will work,
But I don't want to take my chances without a second opinion.

I'm running AmberHome 1.1 on my T, no issues at all. Didn't even need to do any additional setup. Just don't forget to take a full ROM backup before flashing anything, just in case.

Is it a lot faster?
Are the menus faster with less scrolling and window switching lag?
What about web browsing and games?

Im running AOKP rom 4.0.4 ics platform. Runs very smooth many options to customize. Google search AOKP rom or visit theunlockr for p500s. Many roms to choose from. Many are dealing with GB "gingerbread" 2.3.3 thru 2.3.7. Some are ICS styled. Always remember to back-up your data. Repect to all these Devs for their work.

I never had the chance to try out megatron v2 due to the lack of sources i have to download it. I have over 20 roms on my sdcard but cant find that one to test out. Any idea where a good place is to download and test it.

Going through withdrawl...

Where would be the best place to offer up $100 or start a donation thread maybe, to the first dev who can bring a fully functioning cm7 to the rezound. I know cm9 is in the works but from what I've seen I just like cm7 better. Seems to run faster and snappier. I just switched from Sprint to Verizon and had the EVO shift, which some how was waaaaay faster than the rezound. sure it was running cm7 overclocked to 1.6ghz on an extended battery. but Jesus it never so much as hiccupped whilst doing anything. and that extended battery would go for days. As a device the rezound could be amazing, but as of now I'm losing my marbles over how sluggish it is. my sisters Droid X runs cm7 as well and while not getting higher benchmarks like my shift it still has a smoother overall experience for non graphic intensive stuff.

I would play with it, for a bit.
but I'd much rather just play with an ICS de-sensed ROM. ASOP dialer and all that is cool on rezound.
cant remember where i seen it but wasnt there a good chance we could get a AOSP/CM9 rom once HTC releases ICS offical for the Rezound? dont they release the kernel code or something like that?

The source will help with kernels. Once we get a working RIL we will have cm7 or cm9.

Im skeptical too but it is being worked on although im not sure how much time has been put into it? Droidvicious is supposedly working on miui and the ril.
So i thought I wasn't a noob cause I've been reading these forums for quite some time, but what is an RIL? Also I'm nearly certain the GB Kernel source has been released for some time. Hence why I was quite serious about giving $100 to a working cm7 port. I figured it would be on the easy side for our uber awesome dev's and at least we could get some aosp love and what-not.
RIL = Radio Interface Layer. Link between phone and radios.

Cyanogen mod for LG thrive.

I know there r multiple versions of cyanogen mod. What is the highest compatible version with my LG thrive.
What does cyanogen mod do to your phone in the first place.

I haven't tested any ROMS on thrive, but I have an LG Optimus 2X, and there are a number of interesting gingerbread (android 2.3) ROMS available for that phone. Maybe any of them are also developed for thrive.
* gueste_hybrid_revolution - a CM7 based ROM that is combined with the LG Stock ROM, ie a CM7 ROM with the look of LG stock and with LG apps ported into. Very nice ROM. Stable, fast and good looking with overclock capabilities.
* MIUIandroid_2.3.9 - A ROM that looks very different from CM7, the UI is really appealing, and the ROM is both stable and fast, but have some battery draining from my experience.
* CM7 nightlies - latest cyanogen mods. Upside is that they have the latest stuff, downside is that they are not always well tested. Read the notes before chosing with nightly to pick
* CM7 stable - A CM mod that have been tested for a while
* CM7 RC - release candidate
* For many handsets there are available alphas on ice cream sandwich (android 4.0), for example CM9.
Look in the forum threads here on xda that are specific for your handset for more info.

Im sorry, maybe I didn't answer you question at all
CM removes all unnessecary stuff that your operator and/or manufacturer adds to the phone. CM is more close to a vanilla android, but with different tweaks and apps that makes your android a faster and more customizable phone (read better).
I can't say which CM version that is most compatible with your thrive (P506?).
Thanks, but the 2x is completely different than the thrive.

There is no such thing as a best kernel, or best anything on xda.
Read the kernel threads and download the ones which suit your needs. Everyone uses their phone differently so just try them and see.

I am a normal used in phone..
Im talk about kernel thet no freeze or lag..
I flashed the iphone 5 kernel today and must say it's pretty amazing. I've never seen a kernel so smooth. Although now when I try to use universal search my phone just calls me a thief and shuts down...
thread closed because "best" kernel is subjective

Should i upgrade???

Hi guys im not new here but i want to get your opinion on something, ive been using my vibrant for the last two months with an old build 2.2 Bionix-V FishmanMod V4 and my phone has been running great, im thinking about flashing one of the new builds i have all of them really, but since i have been using the old one for about two months i dont have the new updates of the 4.2.2 builds, the thing is, do you guys think i should get a new build on the phone from the 4.2.2 line or forget about that and keep my phone like it is?
ive been having great battery life, great signal, great data, wifi signal and other stuff with the 2.2 build
so that's why im not sure about flashing a 4.2.2 build
what do you guys think?
I personally prefer 2.2 Froyo over jelly bean 4.2. Your battery life will not be as good on JB and the GPS is finicky. I always come back to my 2.2s, nothing else is as stable IMO. Its ultimately your choice though, JB is a cool look and is pretty stable itself but I prefer to have EVERYTHING working on my phone, so I stick with Froyo (2.2).

Do super nexus. With what ever kernel you like. And the fly on tweaks and mods in the i9000 section.
I personally use infamous AOKP. That I built for the vibrant and will be releasing soon. And my semaphore kernel with the customers features plus the fly on tweaks and the 3 year old vibrant is a freaking beast!!!
