-siyah kernel , it's the best

There is no such thing as a best kernel, or best anything on xda.
Read the kernel threads and download the ones which suit your needs. Everyone uses their phone differently so just try them and see.

I am a normal used in phone..
Im talk about kernel thet no freeze or lag..

I flashed the iphone 5 kernel today and must say it's pretty amazing. I've never seen a kernel so smooth. Although now when I try to use universal search my phone just calls me a thief and shuts down...
thread closed because "best" kernel is subjective

[Q] Need a good ROM!

Im wanting a ROM that runs fairly fast and has very many "goodies" such as a mix between cyanogenmod and bumblebee. The reason is because i like to have a fast phone but get bored with my ROMs very easily! Is there a rom out there or is any developers out there working on one right now?! All answers are appreciated
Yeah here is a good one for you: http://www.google.com/cse?q=optimus...ub-2900107662879704:fs7umqefhnf&ie=ISO-8859-1
Just get IHO/BACKside CM7.1, it's being actively developed and runs fairly stable with lots of features.
Please don't make threads like this. Read the threads on the ROMs like the rest of us do.
Try the Megatron ROM It is the fastest and most stable ROM I've ever used

since the OP mentioned bumblebee, he is talking about roms for the optimus v.
@OP, do not flash megatron for your phone
I don't know if it has many "goodies", but I'm using Harmonia 1.6 with a Xionia AnyKernel 14 with a button swapper, giving me Harmonia working with my S screened OV, and it's working amazingly for me so far
Miks 2.3.8 or sonygenmod or cyanogenmatt v1.1 with fserve kernel or Franco's kernel.-+- amazingly fast, snappy loaded with battery life and features..
Sent from my LG-P500 using xda premium
I'm pretty sure that OP is talking about the Optimus V, I suggest trying out MiRaGe. It has BobZombie's latest kernel, it runs smoothly, the battery life is great, and it gets updated pretty often probably every couple of days something new for it gets released.

Are CM10 and Siyah kernel great for battery life?

I need a good kernel and ROM to have the battery last as long as possible
Now I have Siyah kernel and CM10 ROM.
Is it a good combination?
Or should I change ROM or kernel to Dorimanx for example?
Use latest cm10 with stock cm kernel......I must say awesome combination for better battery life

Siyah is Good, latest version, Dorimanx is also very good too. the option is yours to decide which one to use.
If you don't like one, just flash another one. It takes less than 5mins to flash a kernel

You're going to have to try for yourself. I personally am using siyah, but you might have better luck with another one. Don't forget, you can use different settings in ex tweaks to get even better battery life
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
With every kernel and android, just think about how you use the phone for saving battery. Like turn off wifi/data/sync whatever you are not using, to gain a little more battery. There is a lot of tweaks with every kernel and you will find them, searching the forums for the specific kernel.
GL tweaking
Hi! there a lot of people who suggested that kind of combo, but we can never really tell if it's real until we try it ourselves.
Try some tweaks maybe you'll someday find the right "combo" that suits you. The thing here is that everyone has a different "type of usage".. you may have read a post "omg! I get the best battery life for this xxxx kernel/rom/whatever tweaks"... who knows? he/she could've just said that cause his/her phone had been on standby mode all along xD

nice very tidy list
reserved for anything.
Add jokawild to the GB list. Besides that good post.
Cool list, maybe you can add the last date they were updated? so we know if it's the best option, also the ones that are no longer updating(discontinued), great job, this should be a sticky.

i dont put jokawild or others cause some just are outdated..devs dont answer anymore in thread. so no point to install that roms if its buggy for someone ,no one answers..i put the more relevant roms..and from september 2012 till now..in blue you have updated roms..means developers still adding new versions or updating the roms a bit.
just to keep a clean thread and can help new users more easily.:good:

While I can understand where your coming from, I have to say Jokawild is the best GB ROM I have tried. Its beautiful and incredibly fast (on-par or maybe more than NXTLite) It's my Daily ROM, and I havnt had one of those in a while.
I wish I knew about this ROM sooner, so I'd suggest putting it as a honorable mention atleast
Also, I have had no bugs or anything. Either way just a suggestion :silly:

Also add aokplay 4.0.4 by supervenom to the list. It's the smoothest and the least buggy ICS with aokp I've ever tried after flashing jb drivers v3.

It's outdated... Lol, seriously there are others outdated roms which are worse than this "too outdated" rom. Why would you need updates for a perfect rom though? What does other ics roms have that my favourite ics rom doesn't? Tell me one thing that makes other roms superior to aokplay and I'll look down and admit you're right.

updated list..olokos now we have better and fastest ICS roms..and developers interested in helping..its not worth to digg old threads.
anyway thanks for the suggestion.:good:
Good tread: )
I haven't seen a Rom compilation or the PLAY since like 2011 hehe
I know the intention is to make a light thread, not saturated with too many roms and kernels, but there are some roms that are 100% complete, so new users, (if you take a look to q&a section there are a LOT of new PLAY users) would find it easier/ less troublesome to have their first flashing with a full Rom, instead of dealing with bugs and wait for the developers to solve them. Maybe you're lookind to make a thread for developers/daily flashers, but if you want, you can make it a little (no too much) wider and cover more completed protects. If you do so, this should be a sticky on devs section and q&a section. It would be so nice XD
As a start, you should include the Dixperia2 Rom, it's not too old (September 2012) and it's the best Rom for a balance between performance and battery life. For hard gaming, is the best along jokawild and NXT lite, with no need for supercharger or other tweaks; and it's 100% completed. Hope you consider this

[Q] Fastest Stable Rom - for mother in law :)

So I gave my mother in law my old galaxy note and need to set her up with someting as fast and stable as possible.
Do you have any recommendations I can try? I plan to try at least 2 roms over the weekend to have her choose.
Stability is cruical, then speed.
Right now the phone has the 4.2.2 stock debloated rom on it and it gets bogged down heavily after running for a while. Something without touchwiz would be ideal, though I'm open to going back to 4.1.2 stock if that is stable and fast.
Thanks in advance for any recommendation. I've moved on to another device so I have no idea how the development in this forum has been over the last 8 months or so.
Thanks,
Logic

Last stock firmware was 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean), not 4.2.2. Most of the built ROM's for this device have been stable depending on your requirements. CM based ROMs have speakerphone and Bluetooth issues and no MHL. Also Samsung apps only work on stock. If this is of no concern you have many options. (Dozens-CandyKat maybe or last stable PacMan or AOKP) If these do concern you, go with Nebula, Padawan or my favourite, BlackStar BlackJellyv2. If you want a ROM that keeps it simple but gives iphoney type class, Miui may be your pick. Speed and stability,....possibly uXylon with uber kernel (another favorite). Most of us are flash addicts and it's hard to settle on just one.

AOKP based. Probably one of the most stable custom ROMs from a very good dev.
(Edit haven't actually tried this last version but earlier versions were the cats meow).

I'll second this, I haven't found one that's close for stability as blown fuses aokp from march. Especially if Bluetooth is important.

As ALL ROMs are fastest and most stable for the members using them, I recommend heavy research in the ROM threads before even considering changing someone else's ROM on their phone. Also as suggested, unless you plan on being tech support for the life of the phone, absolute stock is the best to avoid any update hassles.
XDA does not allow Best ROM threads so please read through the development threads.
Thanks and sorry

any recomendations for a fast kernal for gaming please ?

done alot of reading have my phone all setup now i just want to make sure ive got the best and fastest kernal for gaming really, im currently using appolo that came with neat rom as it has the app to overclock, before that i had siyah, cant decide wich one faster for gaming though

ok cheers, from what i read apolo is one of the best anyways, i found a thread where he benchmarked kernals but its a bit dated now wich is a shame, it did beat dormi at the time
ok then...but for me apollo kernel is best in NeatROm...
Well only going by benchmarks. With alpolo 7.1 and neatrom I get 17158, tuntutu. I might try dori though may as well. I'll let you know how I get on. I'm new at this smart phone game. Only just realised now why people always say " posted with my gs2 on xda or something like that. Always thought it was annoying as hell coz I allwayz read it pool. But its there automaticly.
