OD is best store to get them, in my opinion.
If you live close to CompUSA they have about 3 per store.
But, they sell fast.

They have the power supplies at Fry's. I was just at the San Marcus (Atlantis) store and they had 10 on the shelves for $29.99.

I would recommend calling the Office Depot store you're going to pick it up and have them do a physical check. Its limited stock for most of their stores in San Diego. I went to pick one up at Office Depot and even though their inventory said they had one, it wasn't even there.

excaliberpc.com has some too

Just to note I bought my first spare from them. It appears that the backlog is easing and everyone is finally able to keep them in stock.

$30 plus shipping is too expensive.
I just bought 2 cables from Asus for about $15 each, and a power brick with wall plug for $45.

Elaborate? Nobody has had JUST the cables listed. And what is this "power brick with wall plug" you mention for $45? If you mean the charger then why did you pay $45 when everyone else sells the charger+cable for $30?
Edit: nvm, saw the american flag and figured it meant you were here but then saw location.

Best place in Canada to buy a KNOWN WORKING USB extension cable for the TF?

I have tried 3 different brands of USB 2.0 cables and come to the conclusion that only true USB 3.0 would work with the TF (though I would LOVE to be proven wrong).
Where are people getting their extension cables? I refuse to believe that people are living with this horribly short charging cable. It doesn't even reach from my outlet to my desk without an extension cord.
Normally I buy cables like this from Monoprice or DealExtreme or dollar stores, but in this case i would rather find one that someone knows works. I have checked in The Source and Future Shop and could not find any USB 3.0 extension cables.
There is a thread about it called "Short Cable".
Some have bought from amazon.com. Some from Monoprice.
Since I'm in Canada as well, I saw some at Canada Computers and are $10 for 3ft and 13 for 6ft.
I'm taking a chance with Dealextreme for $5.80.

Good to know, might get that one.
Bought the 6 ft at Canada Computers ican brand and it works for me.
I ordered one from Dealextreme so I'll let you know if that works as well.
I wish they come in black.
I ended up ordering one from monoprice... I'll report back after getting it.

Charging Cable. Where to buy?

I did a search the forums and really didn't see what I was looking for. Where can I order an additional charging cable for the transformer ? I searched the asus website among other stories and did not find one. Thanks.

Yeah, $10 more than the Apple option. Hopefully the 3rd party gets on this.
I see Fry's just listed the charger but will not ship till July 22nd

According to the sales person on the phone, the shipment should be there Tuesday.
Pretty pissed about mine, appears to have a short and I am scared that it also fried the contacts inside my TF - Might be a full RMA, but I don't wanna wait!
How about just the cable? Anyone know where to buy or the part#?
Thanks,

Well, it is $35 more than the Samsung option. I found Samsung tablet cables for $5.
I really think ASUS should have included a cable to charge the dock with, i mean seriously what other device do you know of that takes a certain cable to charge it with that is not provided when you purchase the product... For the price you are paying for the dock.

Lame on ASUS's part in general with this whole situation. This is exactly how you do NOT want to launch a new product.
I agree... I'm very disappointed Asus didn't bundle an additional cable with the docking.
Especially because they decided to use proprietary port...
Agreed - for the $10 worth of parts in the dock & $150 price tag, they could've included the damn cable.

Argh. F you ASUS. Speak of the devil. My charger *JUST* went out after owning this thing for only about 1.5 months. Fortunately the problem seems to be the power supply and not the cable itself. I can still connect to the tablet when the cable is plugged in to the PC. I guess off to drop $30 on a replacement supply.
Look for iPad compatible supplies at Amazon/eBay - should be a cheaper solution for just the wall wart.

I don't think an iPad charger will work. Others here have suggested that at least 11v are needed to charge the transformer at a reasonable rate (see for example, DevCake's thread on DIY charging solutions).
I've got a query into Powertraveller as to whether they've got a Tip/Adaptor on the way for the EeePad Transformer - I own both a Powermonkey and a Powergorilla.
It is annoying that they're using a proprietary connector!

Made worse by the fact that replacement cables are super hard to come by. Why would you make a proprietary cable... knowing damn well that everyone is going to want replacements, especially since the one they give you is only two feet long... and then not make them easily available to purchase?
This is the main complaint I have had with this tablet.

Fry's said it will not be available until July 28.
Jesus Christ, Asus, why make the cable so hard to buy?! I just got a docking station today and lo and behold.. NO CHARGER?!
Now I can ONLY charge one device at a time... great.

Extra USB Connector Cable?

Is it possible to purchase a spare USB Connector Cable without the wall charger?
I want to get a few spares - to keep one at work, and maybe a couple at home.
Any Ideas?
I saw some on eBay for about 10 bucks. No US sellers though.

Yeah.. A bunch of Chinese knock offs but they're just 40pin connectors. I'd rather pay 10$ for one on ebay than 30-40 for an OEM Asus cable..

USB Cable (5 Feet) - $20

I purchased and have received two of the 5 ft USB cables.
18$ 3' cable is a ripoff lol
I've been using "Chinese" made type cables for years just because I can buy like 10 of them for the price of one OEM type. And they do actually work. I bought some Apple itouch cables from Ebay that were cheap as hell and work perfectly. Apple wanted mega bucks for the same thing.
I could only find USB cables for the TF101 at the Asus store, and I know they are the same as for the prime, but get this.... They are all out of stock on the Asus website.
How could Asus not have figured out that these cables would now be in higher demand? It's ridiculous to spend 500 bucks on a new tablet, and not be able to pick up a spare charging cable right away.... I am NO APPLE LOVER, but at least you can walk into a Best-Buy and pick up a charging cable without hunting across the entire planet to find one. If a company is going to make their cable proprietary, at least make it readily available for purchase. Real poor shoddy job by Asus on this... They really need to up their game. Their tablet can certainly stomp on the competition, but things like this keep holding them back.
Will the prime charge over this proprietary cable over usb?

North American power connector

If you bought an HK 6810 from negri like I did, you likely received a converter for the 220 power connector.
I decided to buy one meant for north america and got this:

Well I ordered this from ebay. Thanks for the tip, man! I charged my Tab from the 0% last night and it took over FIVE HOURS to reach 100% with the stock charger at 240v in Dubai. That is crazy.

Not to hijack the thread, but does anybody know if you can just get the detachable tip for the US, if so where can one get it?
I ordered my tab from Negri as well and received the HK tip detached. It would be great to just get the correct part for the US rather than buying a whole new charger?
I am currently using my original SGT 7.0 charger with it, charged fully in ~4 hours.

Does the tip from your original charger interchange with the new one? If so, your best bet is buying a used one off ebay since I can't find just those tips for sale anywhere.

Thanks for the reply. As far as I know they should be interchangeable. Considering that the power supply is generic in terms voltage, just the tip out differs for what region of the world it is used.
I searched high and low for the US connector to no avail - I'm sure it's out there somewhere. Thanks again.

Wow...that is cheap. Thanks. I pulled the triggered and ordered one from Amazon.
In my search last night I found the part for the US detachable tip.
Manufacture Well Shin, part number: WS-069-N.
A Tawainese based company that I guess supplies international connectors for power supplies. Apparently you can't just order one from them directly.
This same topic was also discussed in the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 forum, with similar results - users having to buy a whole new charger, which is silly.
Anyways, thanks. Good to know that there's a cheaper option out there.

I got excited thinking it was the Nokia charging stand but no just the plate. They go for $30 new everywhere but full retail is like $45. Wish it was the stand for that price!
Got one of these and after putting some magnets in it to hold the phone in place and using some 2 sided tape to hold it to my desk its great. Only beef if that it does not use a normal USB cable but I swapped out the plugs so I can use my micro USB cable. But if you use this you will need to keep the stock ac adapter as it is 12 volts and remember not to use that to charge up your phone wired.
Great charger and the sweet sport for the DNA on it is huge.

I'd love to replace my bulkie Nokia adapter with a USB brick.
Ditto. My cat chewed my Nokia cable which is pretty much impossible to replace on it's own (I've tried contacting Nokia a few times and they've been unhelpful) so my charger is useless. If only this thing used a USB cable...
Basicly you just order the female ends online. Check the pin out. Pin 1 is power. Pin 4 is ground. Just desolder the stock jack solder the new micro USB in. Epoxy it down to hold it the trim the case to fit the new plug. I'll get some pics and part numbers and make a guide and post it when I get a chance.

Mine came the very next day. So far I'm very pleased with it. Very convenient... The only possible issue I see with it is the charging light never goes out even though the phone is fully charged.
