Chinese-made Galaxy S II??? - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just received my GS II (ordered from Amazon US) and found out the sticker inside the battery compartment says "Made in China"!! I was like, what the?? I thought the GS II was supposed to (still) be made in Korea!! The writing on the GS II box and the quick instruction manual are all in Spanish. The warranty card is also in Spanish and seems to be for Venezuela.
Anybody knows if there are any differences (specs, performance, quality, etc.) between the Korean and the Chinese GS II's? I'm afraid mine is a counterfeit/fake unit and is inferior to the Korean GS II's. And worst, there was no factory seal whatsoever (or any kind of seal for that matter) on my GS II packaging!! Should I be worried? Should I just return it to Amazon and get a full refund before I regret it?
Thanks in advance and sorry for rambling. Just being paranoid after shelling out such a chunk of $$$ and receiving something that's not what I'd thought/expected it would be.

Why do you even care? its still a Galaxy S 2

Mine says made in Korea by Samsung.
If yours was a fake surely they'd fake the label too to say made in Korea? Maybe some are made in china. I'd contact amazon if your worried, unlikely they'd sell fakes given the size of the company. Tell them you want a refund anyway cos all the stuff with it is in Spanish and you can't read it

Like I said, it's just me being paranoid. Did some research online and found out some people not being satisfied when they received the non-Korean made GS II.
Actually, it's not that I'm worried about my GS II being a counterfeit one. I'm afraid the Chinese-made ones are inferior to the Korean-made ones (in terms of spec, performance, quality, etc).
Thanks, though. Maybe I'm just worrying for no reason.

The build can be from Korea, China and Brazil, there is a thread about it. And soon they are going to start making them in Argentina, I think this is just assembling...

Mine is made in China as well and came from Chile, the phone is perfect as the SGS2 can be, nothing different other than being made in China.

Hahaha.... Naaah! Everything looks and appears the same as every other GS II I've seen online. Only difference is the sticker on the battery compartment says "Made in China/Hecho en China". No 2nd SIM card slot! Was just worrying for nothing, I guess.
Anyway, will try to power it up for the first time tonight after work. Hopefully my unit doesn't have the dreaded display problem of yellowish tint on the left side of the screen! Crossing my fingers :-\

The sticker appears kinda bland compared to the UK/EU version, doesn't it?
Looks like both cell phone and batt were manufactured in June 2011.

Mine was made in china also with June 2011 on it...but I'm extremely happy with it and no issues at all unlike the screen with yellow tint or something...even if it was fake, china did hell of a job making this phone...

Does your phone (not the battery) have a sticker like mine in the photo above?

Mine is also from china and im very satisfied with it.
@pininf4r1na-my sgs2 has slightly different sticker, it says "MADE IN CHINA BY SAMSUNG" and it doesnt have build date after Serial Number

My one doesn't say where it was made

[q] how to tell if the htc hd2 is not fake?

Hi fellas,
I have recently bought a new HTC HD2 phone and it arrived a few days ago from Hong Kong.
Other than checking IMEI, is there any way to find out if the phone is a fake/replicate one from the phone appearance, etc.?
If I had known there are any fake HTC phones, I would have bough from more reputable retailers. I really didn't think the modern technology of HTC Hd2 can be faked...
Any idea would be appreciated.
If you can upload pictures that would be great. If its from Hong Kong and you bought it on eBay for a super low price its most likely fake. But you can tell if its real when while operating it the phone should feel like a badass piece of equipment. Or compare it to the people who show theirs on YouTube.

Look at the difference between Revisions of the two different parts of the box:
img17.imageshack.us/img17/287/img5655d.jpg ( REV B) look at the red arrow
img571.imageshack.us/img571/5381/img5656m.jpg (REV A ) look at the red arrow
Why they should differ in Revision? Is your phone boxing is the same?

And two pics from from the battery section.

Is the IMEI stickers color inside of your phone is grayish? Or is it white? ( mine is grayish )
img38.imageshack.us/img38/4948/img5659n.jpg
Is the only word on your battery is "HTC"?
Thanks buddy
Our phone boxes are 500% different, when i get home i'll upload a picture of mine for you to see.
As for the phone itself i noticed a few differences b/w yours and mine, (NOTE) phones can get modified by the company and be released in a new batch to fix errors from first release.
But in the picture where the back of your phone was showing, at the bottom left theres a red dot.. On mine it's yellow, at the very top of that theres a white dot, mine is black. Small variations nothing too drastic, but as i said, when i get home (Currently in school) i will edit this post with pictures of mine.
The battery is the same

Most likely it's related to the country where they have been made. People from my country reported some of the devices made in China have a purple tint, while devices made in Korea are pretty much ok. Here's a photo showing both phones:
on my picture, right (bad) one has note "made by Samsung in Korea" and the left one "made by Samsung" only.

I'm with Meteor on PAYG i went to get the GS2 on a 12 month contract but they were looking for a €300 deposit so i told them where to go and bought it outright unbranded and unlocked, i didn't think there would be any difference to be honest if anything given Vodafone are more expensive you'd expect them to have the phone direct from Samsung.

i really doesn't tickle my pickle just yet. i need to see the actual device, i can say one thing though. too much chrome?
I'll leave that decision up for when I see the whole phone. But I must say I like the design if it really will be curved.

I am absolutely into it. Assuming they even come CLOSE to the reported specs, I am already a customer. Now I just gotta convince my fiancee to let me buy one off contract < a month before our wedding!
i was expecting a near edge less frame, mostly glass on the top. maybe a silver band around it, then a black cover on the back with no expandable memory and a non removable battery, oh wait...
but yeah, frameless glass would of been nice. more squarish too. round/oval looking phones are nasty IMO, on of the reasons why i didn't get the skyrocket.
As many 'concept' designs as I've seen out there, I would take this with a grain of salt as well. My understanding (based on other fact-less rumors) is screen will fill in most of the frame without 'dead space' like you see in that image.
My first Samsung ever was the infuse and i loved it. then i got the SGSII and i was blown away. made my mother buy a Samsung fridge too! But anyways, i have learned that samsung doesnt fool around. I am really expecting a good looking device. either way i will eventually give in and buy it lol.
I have to get myself a Nokia too.
Let me know when the AT&T pictures are released.
I'm with chris, at&t does have a nasty habit of making their phones horrendous from the international version. Why they can't just leave the designs I do not know!

+1 for removal of that center button.... makes the phone look super retarded imho... My mum-in-law has the int'l version, and each time I use it I get a bit jumpy cause I think I'll press the button too hard and damage the phone.
I dont think this is it....for example take a close look at III, last I is much closer to second than first and second are + third I seems little higher...second fact is that words fast vivid slim were already used by samsung for SGSII: http://bmobile.co.tt/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/ad_galaxys2.jpg
and the third fact....it looks weird at least to me....maybe only a strange render (if that happens to be real)
Never mind.

It might explain the difference I didn't know they come in such a crappy box if they are not direct from Samsung like mine.
But yeah this story still stinks. The guy went straight to The Verge, had a convenient photograph of the box which he handed to them, went an bought a new iPhone and took another flight. Amazing how all this panned out for him in such a small amount of time.
Im pretty sure that competition like crapple or other android manufacturs have been ading more salt to the case and take the chanse to bash Samsung and get a peace of the cake while same time making sammy lose face ....and some people will burn there phone for media attention. ..beside just google iphone battery explode and you will see many stories but media loves apple and hate the korian outsiders

But after buying the international version on eBay with both eBay and Samsung refusing to give me a new one or refund I know I got the new update with this pop up on my screen and it's 60% power max.. pretty much my phone is useless because the pop up as soon as I cut it off it pops right back up within 60 Seconds. I've actually called Samsung 29 times in the last 6 weeks to ask for information on what to do and the furthest I got was they would get back in touch with me which they never do. Today is supervisor got on the phone with me and said that they can't do anything unless I bought a US variant. Which is not fair because I wanted the unlocked bootloader and the Exynos version... it shouldn't matter which version Note 7 I have and where I live or anything like that it is a mandatory recall for the whole world not just the United States yet Samsung says they can only return us not just the United States are Samsung says they can only return US phones... so I'm supposed to not use my phone not return it and just be happy and thrilled that I lost $980. And then after contacting eBay for the 15th time today they told me my 30 days are up so there's nothing they can do. I thought this was a mandatory recall if it's mandatory...then they should Mandatorily have to take it back

Did anyone else get a note off eBay and if you did can you tell me how you returned it?

Do you know where did your device originated from?

Edit: My suggestion is, since Samsung US will not exchange the unit, ask them for an address to ship it back to. Even if it means overseas.
