From which kenrel u expect more?? - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Dont want to start a new threat so edited the old one.
From which kenrel u expect more??
Hope that the new kernel sources bring more overclocking...
And give ur thoughts.

Its possible but most of us couldnt handle anything near 1.3 ghz. Im glad I could

they both are snapdragon but they are different chipsets, the x10 runs ona qsd8250 and the play and other newer xperia models run the msm8255.
the msm8255 chipset is easier to overclock plus the newer model xperias have their bootloaders unlocked so better kernels can be implemented, the x10 has not got its bootloader unlocked but bypassed, so even though we have custom kernels we cannot fully take advantage of the hardware

ok hope the new kenrel brings more overclocking so more games can be played.

They have to be stable. Anyone near 1.3 ghz confirmed it was unstable. 1267 mhz was very unstable. 1228 was ok though

it won't....
newer gen processors have a much wider tolerance.
A desire z can be overclocked from 800mhz to 1.8ghz successfully
The highest our phones will ever be overclocked is around 1267mhz before they reboot automatically.
I wouldn't even suggest leaving it at this for very long, you'll fry your chip

I have a Nexus One that is identical to X10 hardware-wise, including CPU. Its tolerance for OC is about the same. This generation of Snapdragon processor is not capable of huge OCing.

I got choice between x10 and nexus s a month ago when I bought x10 I was not knowing things like bootloader, custom kenrels and all.
I jst bought x10 for it was having hd camera coz I thought both are same with 1 Ghz proccesser but x10 sucks at games.
Because of great devs I m feeling ok with my x10.
But I want to travel back to time and get nexus s.
Now I have to suffer 2 years with my x10.:'(

sorry to tell you but that was a terrible choice...
nexus s is awesome

i mean im pretty happy with the x10i, wen i did get it, the best android phones out was this and the htc desire, n i was coming from a satio so i wanted summat with a decent camera. i was new to the android crowd but not to xda as my 3 previous phones were windows mobile ones. im happy cos its been updated to 2.3.3, i dnt do a huge amount of gaming as i know the x10 isnt really the best device for it, with its lack of multitouch and buggy dual touch. buh hey my upgrades due in 6 months and theres gna b some bad ass phones out by then so i dnt mind chilling with my trusty x10, and plus the devs do wonders wit this.

its not the same chipset...
x10 : Qualcomm QSD8250 Snapdragon chipset / GPU : Adreno 200 GPU
Arc : Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon chipset / GPU : Adreno 205 GPU
now you can see....

Yes, same processor speed, same name Snapdragon but different code make the overclocking difference. lol, if you can overclock it to 1.83GHz, I beg that you phone will not last more than one week, if unlucky, you will hear this sound http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cEtygSs2AEY&feature=related

[Q] is 1.4 Ghz overclock possible???

Galaxy S Plus
This seems to use the same hardware as our Galaxy S phones, does this mean we can possibly hit 1.4Ghz?
Overclocking doesn't always help your phone, but heats up the battery and it is possible that battery to be exploded(well, thats 1.6)
There aren't even stable 1.3ghz out yet, so we would have to wait and see.
We can get to 1.2GhZ already and it honestly doesn't make a difference in day to day usage except that your battery life will drop a good bit.
Can we get to 1.4? Maybe.
Is the hummingbird super finicky at anything over 1.2? Yep.
Could this be a slightly revised chip? Probably.
Is there much benefit?
Not really.

I'm sure we will see more then 1.2 ghz. I module overclock mine to 1.3 with a 1.2 kernel. And never any issues. Every phone is different and I can't even tell a drop in battery. I get over 48 hours per charge with regular usage. Plus I think one of the devs are working on 1.1-1.6ghz kernels as we speak.......... its all about voltages clock speeds and the right phone. Alot is possible with the right combo.
There was an old 1.6 voodoo rom a million years ago. I ran 1.3 till froyo hit now im at 1.2

disclaimer: i personally think overclocking on high end phones is pointless...see my rant on uncutandroid for that though
anyway the other sgs phones all have 1.4 ghz oc kernels...so the processor is capable of it certainly...the nexus has 1.5 kernels, but thats on a .35 and gingerbread
so its certainly possible that those who *need* to overclock that high will be happy when nem has had more than a week to spend with kernel source

LG Optimus 2, also known as UNIVA E-510

Yesterday, i got an LG-E510 UNIVA. It is a prototype, is running Android 2.3.4.
About the specs, i can tell you that it has 800 mhz processor, 512 ram memory, a 5mpx camera with autofocus and HVGA screen,320X480, but far more better than P500

This should of been the orginal Optimus one.
It's gonna be released as LG Optimus Hub.
http://www.engadget.com/2011/09/13/lg-optimus-hub-officially-outed-as-successor-to-optimus-one-dyna/
If it's at least just "Optimus One with better camera" I'd say it'd be worth it for someone new to Android. Camera has always been O1's weak point.
The overclocked 800 MHz would be a marketing arsenal against the likes of Samsung Gio. Most people don't understand the difference between chipsets anyway. I do wonder if there's any noticeable difference compared to O1 overclocked to 787 MHz, and whether it can be pushed even further using custom ROM/kernel to >800 MHz.
Optimus HUB, previously known as Univa is a model that was designed to compete with Galaxy S5830 Ace, same processor, 5 mpx, but it has better ram memory, 512 against 384

Buy something different. This device will be a constant disappointment. It is virtually obsolete by recent standards. Not enough RAM, poor screen res, feeble battery, CPU maxed out by QualComm (600mhz but got 800mhz yield so described as 800 with the magical "T" in the name).
Did I mention that you could do better than buying an Ace. Perhaps a Nokia 3210?

QualComm got a higher yield on a batch of wafers that were supposed be labelled at 600mhz. Instead they yielded on average 800mhz so they were rebranded with "T" for Turbo. Basically they overclocked for us, that's why there is so little range available for stable o/c-ing. My ZTE Blade has the non "T" chip and can o/c to ~778-800mhz stable, no more. Same processor, different serial number.

You can choose what to believe, but the facts remain the same. The Ace has what QualCom have chosen to call a "Turbo" sim. It is factory clocked to its maximum - hence the poor experience people have with stability when they attempt to o/c.
It is the same MSM7227 ARM11v6 as my ZTE Blade (600) and ZTE Skate (800). The Blade is the most stable to overclock.

Galaxy Ace has a 800Mhz,its not factory overclocked but SGSII is factory overclocked.SGA has an Armv6 processor, not Arm11 as somebody said..
From what you tell,I conclude that you want the best games running on your device,i suggest you not to buy it,simple...Why?The phone is actually nearly a year old, chances of getting an official ics update is 5%,ram is low and whatever thing you want to add...
Ok, so SGA is not an developers phone ? ok... im disappointed//

This question looks idiot but there any kernel with 1ghz support for optimus one???
no
Sent from my LG-P500 using Tapatalk
Even if there was, you must plug your phone's power supply into a way more powerful source than the battery and hope the chipset won't burn out.
Nobody will even try to make such a kernel. This thread should be closed.

by just stepping out with 768-787mhz ..you'll reboot.. and by the way.. dont push OC to high.. though it doesnt burns your chips.. it's shorting the life span of it..
But how some tablets that have the same ARM11 proccessor like ours are set to 1Ghz!

Well the Xperia Sola has a dual core processor 1GHz CPU and 512 MB RAM and ARM Mali 400 GPU , then why it is considered a "Mid-end" phone whereas Xperia Arc S has a single core CPU 1.4GHz and 512 RAM and Adreno 205 GPU and considered High-end phone.

It is a previous generation high end device.
Arc s came out over a year ago when single core was considered high end especially with 1.4 ghz

Yes but arc as had not best version of duclcore, the worst dualcore vaivable it had. but speedy enough......
its all todo with what the company has to offer at the time.
at the time of release the ARC S even though there where faster phones on the market made by other companys for sony it was there highend device.
the Sola when released there was better spec models made by sony so it became a mid range device.
and yes website say the arc s is a highend device they really should say WAS
my first pc from tiny was a highend computer (intel pentuim 1.6) but my computer now is a quad core and class as a midrange device (not made by tiny )...
Im sure soneone will say im wrong but that the way i look and understand classing of phones.......oh and the bloody price
So the Sola should perform alot better than ARC S right??

Arc s is an overclocked arc and arc has same hardware as xperia play. I switched from an 1.4 ghz overclocked xperia play to xperia sola and the performence differnce is quite impressive. Espeacialy HD games like gta3 run much better on the sola. Also Browser and UI is way faster, benchmark results are also way better.
