Sometimes I want my Galaxy S2 to connect to my carkit (Nokia 616) using the normal HFP (not using rsap), so my phone doesn't loose its internet connection and I can use Google Maps etc.
However, since the Nokia 616 has no way of disabling rsap, I have to disable rsap on the phone. Does anybody know of a way to disable rsap on the Galaxy S2 so it connects using HFP with my carkit?
Any luck with finding a solution?
I have been trying to find a work around to this since June, can't believe there is no option to disable remote sim mode in either device... We must be the only people in the world struggling with this because there is nothing out there... emailed Samsung got no reply, called Nokia and spoke to the most unhelpful support person i have ever dealt with...
I did read in the Nokia 616 Manual however that in order for remote sim mode to work you need to have an external antenna connected... so i am going to try and disconnect the external antenna in the hope that the 616 recognises that its not connected and disables remote sim mode... its a long shot but im at breaking point...
I'm struggling to believe there is no command line method to disable or remove rsap on a rooted galaxy s, if I could get a lead at least i would look into it myself.

Just wondering how to setup wi-fi direct? I've gone into the menu and enabled it, hit scan, but it doesn't find either of my 2 laptops.
Do the laptops have to be wi-fi direct certified as well or is there some sort of configuration I have to do to make them available to the phone?

i wish i knew mate, i'm pestering people to find out myself. nobody seems interested. i was linked this video, but the guy is hard to understand and it doesn't work in the way he demonstrates it on my laptop. maybe his is wifi direct certified - thats not really clear ether. have a look anyway, maybe you can figure something out.

wi-wfi direkt is disabled on newer devices by samsung.......... because they have problems with licenses
I use wifi direct to send files from my phone to my friend's phone (he also has the Galaxy S II). Works perfectly and is really fast.

So I guess both devices must be wi-fi direct certified, because my phone doesn't pickup my laptop at all (which is about 3 years old).

there is a programm called intel wifi dashboard , this program enables wifi direct on laptop and then your laptop will be discovered by GSII
WIFI direct is like a private network between your laptop and your GS2 or just 2 GS2 that enables you to transfer files up to 1 Gb in size in just 2 or 3 mins ( i tried it myself by sending a 730 mb wmv file ) without the need of setting up a wireless network
and obviously it's much more faster and effiecent than bluetooth

Okay, so I just rooted my phone and flashed a new ROM and it has Wifi-Direct option on it which basically, you just tick to enable and cannot configure. Since my Samsung SMART TV was wifi-Direct certified, I opened the Wifi-Direct Menu and it just detected my phone. It told me that I could either connect by pushing the Wifi-Direct Button on my Device (PBS Way) or by entering the TV-generated PIN on my Device( PIN Way). But I cannot see a "Enter the PIN" Notification pop up on my Android Device. Let me try a Third-Party App and lets see how it goes.

i am also facing same error
There's an app called Superbeam, that works on android, mac, windows and linux. I use it to transfer files between my Nexus 5, a Galaxy Tab2 and my PC. it works great.

Is there a way to disable the remote sim protocol on the S3? My carkit (RNS510 premium from Volkswagen) connects via this protocol but it's not the preferred method. There is a workarround, i can manually disconnect and then connect to the carkit via the phone (i think it connects via a2dp or something), but it's bit of a hassle. If I could just disable rsap my carkit will automaticlly connect via the other protocol (like it connects with an iphone)
If your phone is rooted you can rename /system/lib/bluez-plugin/sap.so. This should remove the SAP profile from your phone. Perhaps you have to repeat the pairing.

I am so happy that rSAP is available now - before I had to root and install 3rd party software. But usually you can decide while pairing which mode you like - at least my Audi asks which connection mode I would like. Maybe you have to unpair first on both devices and the pair again.
Out of interest: Why is rSAP not your preferred method? The phone itself uses less energy, reception is better due to the build in antenna and also the phonebook features are available in the car.
The only reason for me would be the lack of data connection on the phone which is only true if your car does not provide the Wifi Hotsport function - with this my S3 is connecting to the Internet and also the car has access for online traffic info, Google Earth, etc...

Grrr, why it does not want to work with MMI on A7? and he wants have disconnected, doh
I made the update, but nothing. It fails after the request of 6 digit PIN (indeed, I had 16 digits on my old BB Storm). Also with that 3rd party app, it doesn't work... what car do you have and what did you exactly to make it works?

Hi there!
My name is Andre and I installed a Volkswagen Bluetooth kit with the remote SIM feature.
As I paired my Galaxy SIII with the kit, my phone asked me a couple of things that I auto answered yes...
The first one was about giving permission to access my SIM.
After that my phone always entered in remote SIM mode with the kit.
Today I remade the pairing and when my phone asked to enable access to the kit for my SIM... I answered NO (and checked the box "do not ask me this again").
Now me, my phone and my car seem to be understanding each other.

i like to use my HTC Legend as VOIP phone at home via wireless lan only.
So i don't need the telephone functions like UMTS, GSM and so on.
So my question is how can i disable the telephone functions permanently (i don't like to use the airplane mode and i don't like to see the info for missing sim card at the home display).
At the moment i have installed the CyanogenMod. Does anyone know another good Mod or has a good idea to realize that?

As I have my phone on me at all times thought I might be able to use it as a trusted device for the tablet? Supposedly lollipop supports android use as Bluetooth LE peripheral but I can't seem to get them to connect in a normal fashion?
I have this working with my LGG2 (running CM11). In order for it to work though, you have to pair the phone to the tablet, then share the phones internet connection. It doesn't seem to be a good solution, as the devices only connect when manually selecting "internet sharing" in the BT phone settings on the tablet.
I'm also trying to accomplish this. Anyone else have a solution for how to use you phone as a trusted device to unlock your lollipop tablet?
As long as I manually established an active Bluetooth connection (by using an app like Tablet Remote) it will stay unlocked, but how can we get a paired trusted phone to establish a connection to a tablet without some sort of manual intervention?

i may have a strange request.
Currently i have 3 different mobile phones and find it difficult to manage them properly.
I have an iPhone, OnePlus One and a new testing device from a carrier. I use iPhone as my personal number and OPO as business number. 3rd phone is for testing LTE networks only.
Will it be possible to connect these phones using bluetooth so i can call from a single phone say iPhone or OPO (actually call from other phone but manage it from single phone only?
I tried searching online for something similar but couldn't find anything useable. If someone has some idea on this then that would be really helpful

its not possible dude....!
It's not possible directly, but you could try remote control apps. There's several available in app/play store, where you can remote control one device from another. (Many based on VNC)
Not over bluetooth though. They work over wifi.

Yes, you guys are right. This does not seem possible at this time but in future we might be able to do something similar.
found this link with a kickstarter project which will be doing same thing over bluetooth. Couldn't post link due to my account being a new one. But if you can search for "piece sim card bluetooth adapter" you can get articles on this tech.
